Ok lets unpack this video. The title says Nano Hearing Aids Review, so an expectation might be that some testing and comparison of Nano Hearing aids would be included. This would be an invalid assumption.
This so called "review" is conducted by somebody who is in the industry, who makes money from prescription hearing aids where he can provide a service and charge a lot of money. He wants to shut down alternatives that he can't sell. Similar to the medical industry, only wants you to take prescription drugs and vaccines, approved or not, when most time alternative natural solutions deliver a better solution.
This should be enough to tell you that this is a steering video. Its objective is to scare you away from any hearing aids that he can't make money from. He asserts that the aid in question is not FD A approved! Well, who these days regards FDA approval as a positive thing after recent events, where the FD A attempted to bury from public view, test results for a product for over 55 years! Also, it is well known now that the FD A obtains over 70% of its funding from the corporations it is responsible for regulating! It's also known that FD A employees often receive lucrative career opportunities from corporations whose products, they approve.
Who is the reviewer, well he does not disclose his name, he hides behind a dummy domain name, so we have no way of knowing if he is real or not, but that's not really important.
Lets assume for a moment that he works for a business dispensing hearing aids, many will attract you in by offering free hearing tests! That sounds great, and I have done more that one of these, but they never allow you to walk out of the office with the results of the test.
Its quite common for these service centers to offer hearing aids in the $1,000 to $6,000 price ranges.
Now some secrets about the industry. There is one main manufacturer of core hearing aid technology. This is the guts of the hearing aid. They are designed so that they can be configured through software to deliver different functionality. So the same core product is used by many name brand companies, who put their own branding on the outside and charge high prices for their products. Nothing strange about this, the pocket Camera industry has been doing the same for years, to offer a range of different cameras at different price points all with the identical internal components. It makes good sense commercially, build one set of core competency, then use this in a s many products are possible to get the volumes up and the costs down, resulting in higher profits.
So of course, you want to know how they sound. Well, it's not clear whether this reviewer ever touched the captioned hearing aid. He asserts that it "probably" does not sound good because its not "FD A" approved, or a prescription hearing aid. He does no comparison with any other hearing aids. He clearly is saying that if you don't get it from me, or its not FD A approved it can't be any good!
Be very careful of video's like this. This is about shutting down the competition because it's inexpensive, not because it's good or bad.
Disclaimer. I can't tell you whether the captioned hearing aid is good or bad, the only way to determine this is to get one and see if it works for you and your budget. So if a company offers a guaranteed return policy if it does not work for you you can return it! Read the return policy terms and give it a go!
You should assume that the core hearing aid technology costs in the range of $20 - $40 per hearing aid. As one might imagine, adding a case and packaging and warranties, and brand name, can be quite expensive. Its quite a sophisticated challenge to create hearing aid technology, so there are not going to be new companied entering the market with cheap hearing aids based on their own core technology, its just not possible.

You opened my eyes. Thanks for that comment. .....I never had a clue or would have thought of that. Having said that, I just got the CIC2s, only have used them a little more than an hour. But so far they are much more natural sounding than the "megaphones" I bought a couple of years ago from a different company.

At 3:24 it is stated "...the poor sound quality ". On what basis is that stated? Have tests been done by anyone?

Anyone who needs a hearing aid can likely get it under insurance. Real hearing aids have a custom molded fit. They literally take a mold impression of your ear and make the piece from that mold.

There is a number of OTC hearing amplifiers on the market, I bought a pair of Audien Atom Pro. They amplify sound with a volume control tab. There are no other adjustments. One plus, is the battery charge lasts along time. The major brands are already entering the hearing loss market and I expect within a year there will be high quality hearing aids being sold at a fraction of the prescription type cost. As with any industry, once you lift regulations, the OTC market explodes but with that comes low quality junk. I had a hearing exam done by a professional audiologist. We will have to see where this is heading.

If you need a hearing aid, it will likely be covered by your insurance. I haven't gotten a new one in a long time, but I think new ones can selectively boost frequencies. A lot of people with bad hearing, myself included, need frequency boosts at or above a frequency or at or below a frequency. Like you can hear 5khz OK, but at a lower level than normal, but need a much higher boost for frequencies above 5khz. Or in some cases, there is absolutely nothing you can do.
I don't know if it has changed or not since my last hearing aid, but they are not selective. They can generate a low level sound all the time and will pick up the wind the way a microphone picks it up. They suck on the phone too.

I'm going to be interested to see if you reply. I am poor. My hearing is severely diminished and I have profound tinnitus. It's my understanding that my insurance, which is considered very good, just not cover any of the cost associated with purchasing hearing aids. With this information, what do you suggest?

.... as opposed to paying you folks $ 4 K on a " medically approved" device. Got it.

My friends doctor offered him a new set for 11K with a discount of 5K. So now it’s ONLY 6K. And insurance doesn’t cover any of it. What’s a person supposed to do?

I know earring aids are very expensive. I’m actually in need to find one that I can afford. I tried the Nano , stay away, it is a scam. I had to get my credit card company to get my money back.

If you need a hearing aid, your insurance will pay for it. Hearing aids are custom molded for your ears. It will be a much higher quality than something like this.
I've been prescribed hearing aids since I was a kid. They really aren't all that great. They amplify everything. There is a background noise that is always present. This is not always helpful anyway. In my case, my hearing loss is not even across frequency. It cuts the top end off. Simply boosting the sound makes it sound artificial, for lack of a better term.
