In this video I’m showcasing my favourite prints that I created on a gel press plate, during my first year of making mono prints Facebook / markwillsartwork Instagram www.instagram....
I’m watching this for the first time and in the upper right hand corner a journalist is announcing an attack on Israel by Iraq and he looks exactly like the bald man. It’s telling.
Discomfort of the mind makes art necessary. From this place it can toggle between arrestingly beautiful or incredibly disturbing. Combining order and spontaneity ensures vitality. Your lucid communication and brilliant technique are praiseworthy.
Thanks for sharing all this, it gives a perspective of all the possibilities going past the pretty grungy backgrounds! Also love spotting the ones you shared the process for and discovering new stuff. Also love your colour palettes, simply love your stuff, Mark! 🎉 Bravo 🎉
I know they're not all here, but I really love these pieces you've created. You've had so much growth with this medium, and created such a strong body of work. Keep it up!!!
I had to pause this a number of times just to admire your work. I've not yet used my gel plates for monoprinting, but I'm very excited to start. Your channel is an inspiration.
Great to see your work, love your videos. Hope you keep creating with the gelli plate & making more videos to share your wisdom. Have a great Christmas
Thank you. Yes I’m still going to do videos, in the process of editing one at the moment actually so hopefully I’ll be posting that in the next couple of weeks. Merry Christmas to you also a
This is really inspiring. Thank you. I enjoyed seeing the way different motifs developed through the year. A great example of the value of a sustained artistic practice.
Thanks. The man series at the start was a little project I first started with whereby I chose one subject and then tried various experiments and techniques to see what I could achieve on a gel plate.
All very inspiring and thank you, but I must ask...how many prints ended up in the bin or, as with me, how many near misses that you might get back to later?
Thank. As to your question I’d say I have around a 90% success rate, not many end up in the bin and I’d say only a handful go onto needs more work pile due only because I’m not fully satisfied with the prints overall look or balance.
So refreshing to see original alternative art created with a gel plate; you and Mark Yeates are inspirational.
That’s very kind, thank you. Yes Mr Yeates is a master!
Still waiting on my kit to arrive. Cannot wait! Mark, your work is unique. No one else using this medium on YT comes close.
Thanks, that’s a very kind comment.
