Wood turning - A Classy Cigar Ashtray with Seashell Inlay

- This is a cigar ashtray with a seashell inlay. Turned from a piece of Laburnum which had some fencing wire embedded within it! After carefully and incrementally removing the wire the remaining wood displayed a beautiful grain pattern. This was made for a good friend of mine who was keen to see the process and also had a go at the turning! If you watch carefully you catch a glimpse of him lurking in the shadows!
We are both very happy with how it turned out. Let me know what you think of the finished item and especially your thoughts on the inlay - thanks for watching.

You put a good amount of work into this tray. Nice work! What grit did you sand the sea shell/epoxy to?
@@gregariouswoodworks1270 Hi - I think I went to 1200 grit than a polishing compound and buffing.
Turned out really nice. Thanks for sharing!
Amazing process and Finish 👌
