@@comedyzone That, and the fact that the kid needed the pizza on demand. Ludwig didn't need the school fucking pizza on demand lmao. Honestly, extremely weak of Ludwig to not make his way out of this situation.
Ludwig willingly giving to a charity case when he was scraping by for money at home was generosity and kindness and he never went back on it. He made do with his remaining money, without inconveniencing anyone else. Other than the tiny heart attack he gave his teacher, that he might have been talking to a pedo when he ran over to give it. His friend just slapped down $20s without bothering to negotiate, didn't ask for change, or even try to save the remaining $40 for food later. THEN turned around and annoyed everyone, upset his mother, bothered the teacher, and got both his friends in trouble. His friend was clearly not "good with money." Ludwig is good with money, good with giving it, good with getting it and good with using it for things that are actually useful in his life.
I went to a rich private school for like a year and was able to turn a profit off cheap Dollar Store candy. The school shut me down cause the kids threw their candy wrappers on the ground and it was becoming a problem. It worked pretty well for 6 months though. I would also trade the candy for tickets that got us extra credit when we turned them in. I was able to skip so much work, I was able to essentially buy out assignments. If I didn't feel like it I could just drop twenty tickets and skip a school project. Thinking back now, this was probably why it was shut down and the trash was just an excuse.
If I was in this situation I would of said "he could of said no but instead of saying no, he said yes. I'm not going to give him the money back because of his bad decisions." Either that or I would of just said no
Fun Fact: At 2:40 the school in the background is St Johns Prep and the reason the students are standing along the street is because they are awaiting the funeral recession of Pete Frates who created the ice bucket challenge.

Basic economics. In that case the demand was high enough due to lack of supply (Ryan would not have been allowed to wait in line for a new pizza) so prices would be set by the producers (ludwig) and consumers (Ryan) would pay over the average market.
This is what you should have said: No, I'm not paying $20 for a slice of cafeteria pizza. I'm not currently hungry, I'm not under time pressure, and I don't have $20 in my pocket. What people are willing to pay depends on the circumstances: your need right now, how much money you have, etc. I offered to sell a slice a pizza for $20, and Jay accepted. No coercion, no tricks. That's right, there is no such law because it is not a legally enforceable rule. I'm free to not follow that rule. Counterargument: But $20 for a slice of pizza is not fair! Response: It is fair considering the circumstances. Jay is willing to pay $20 for a slice of pizza. Everything is worth what people are willing to pay. (Of course, Jay could have bought a slice of pizza directly from Sbarro for less than $10, but I'm not responsible for telling the customer about better alternatives, that's the customer's responsibility.) (Also, unfair trades are not automatically illegal.) Counterargument: I'm the teacher, I have made the judgment, now you have to do what I say. Response: You're not a judge, this is not a court, you don't have that kind of authority. I'm not recognizing your "judgment". What're you gonna do, garnish my wages? Freeze my bank account? Sue me in court? I'd like to see you try, because you have no case. Counterargument: Forget the law. What you did was immoral.
