I noticed that a ring gets missed at 4:07 (you hit it but you don't collect it)... and then at 5:07 you pass through it again - Sonic just goes through it, but Tails collects it! Do you know why that happens?

Missed a ring at 2:18. The shield grabs it, but Sonic moves away from it too fast for it to catch up. After getting the ring box and electric shield, Sonic has 362 rings. There are 25 rings to the left. Sonic exits with 386 rings. He should have 387.

The part @ 4:17 shows a bubble shield. What is that doing in Marble Garden considering there is no water in that level? I thought those TV boxes are reserved for levels where there is water.
There is a 50,000 bonus in under 30 seconds, but I'm pretty sure it isn't even possible other than in speedruns of Hidden Palace and that stage doesn't tally up your vote. Remnants of previous Sonic games.
Due to how Sonic 3 was a whole game split into 2 (for the most part) and they split stages into separate paths for both Sonic/Tails and Knuckles, I suppose it was easier to not bother setting a perfect ring bonus as several rings in any given stage would be unobtainable depending on who you were playing as. (although there are tool-assisted speedruns out there that attempt to and very nearly succeed in collecting every last ring in S3&K even outside intended paths by use of glitches) Collecting all the rings in the special stages can get you a 50k point 'perfect' bonus, though. So the idea was not entirely scrapped from Sonic 2.
Ah man, I tell you what, in the Glowing Spheres Bonus Stage if you get the ring bubbles closer to the top they give you 100 rings, one time I managed to get 3 closer to the top, so I got to finish the bonus stage with 300 rings more than I came in

Chad Guindon Probably used to use the bounce move. It is helpful to descend quickly and can attack enemies with that move.
Another thing: The Bubbler badnik have spikes on it, so trying to hit them loses his shield.

how can you use the double jump with the shield if you already have the emeralds? if I try that I become super sonic
+Gastón Miceli you only lose your shield when you turn into Super Tails or Super/Hyper Knuckles. Sonic can't transform with a shield.
