This shows that all SEGA had to do in order to survive was license out a non-polygonal 3D rendering engine designed to run on an Intel 386 from a company in Texas, modify it so the engine can handle having two floors on top of each other and level geometry that can move around, and get it to run at 15 FPS.

Wolf3D uses an engine originally designed for EGA hardware, originating from Hovertank (published by Softdisk as part of their "please don't sue us for making Commander Keen on your computers instead of doing our jobs" deal). This is also why in Wolf3D the floor and ceiling are solid colors, egged on by the fact the engine was built for the Intel 286 processor (even weaker than the 386), which couldn't handle floor textures.
Like with Marcmax' work on colorizing the superior Megaman Quintology for GameBoy, this is a technological work of art. ...I want a physical copy of this, even if it may be bootlegged to hell and back.
I think the sound effects are using the pc feature of the 32x I honestly thought they would use the ym2612 or the SN76489 for the sfx, but instead uses dac or pcm due to the limitations of the sega consoles
We're just using PWM sounds for now, because the sound driver we inherited from Doom CD32X Fusion / 32X Resurrection is only really designed to play back VGM data. A new sound driver is the answer, and we may yet have one.

unfortunately, for the soundtrack, I may need a daw for making music since I don't know how to use a tracker like a deflemask or furnace I only use FamiStudio, a NES/Famicom based DAW for making music. It has a sound expansion that can use OPLL based FM audio (YMF288) If it can be imported to the game, I can assist (but I am having some complications to describe more details at the moment)

Sounds like most of the sound effects are pre-recorded audio playing through the 32x PCM and the music is being playing on the genesis two sound chips. The music sounds great.

You're not the only one to say this. It never occurred to me the similarity between them. What we're using in the game is just a standard SRB2 texture from Greenflower Zone. I tried three different textures, showed them to SSNTails, and this is the one he decided to go with. The intent is for each zone to have one of its own unique textures shown.
There’s absolutely no excuse this time for this not being possible on the Saturn or Dreamcast, especially Saturn since the 32x uses the same Hitachi chips on the Saturn. To now say this isn’t possible on either of these consoles is foolishly moronic, we just have yet to see this happen & hopefully it does
It runs off of the doom resurrection engine and is rewritten from scratch. Saturn Doom runs like a slideshow and there would need to be a better engine (or a doom homebrew port for that matter) for it to build off of.

This is based on the Doom 32X Resurrection/ CD32X Fusion source code. Chilly Willy's 32X development kit is what provides all the 32X underpinnings.
