- I went out for a chilly afternoon crawl with the FMS FCX18 pickup and grabbed the go-pros to film it. Nothing to ramble about, just a fun run around with a really great looking truck. It is all stock except for the wheels and tires. They rub a little bit in certain instances but overall, they are perfect for the truck and dirt and rocks out there.
You guys are all awesome and I appreciate all the great comments and questions from everyone. Really enjoying talking to you all in the comments section.

Right on, Addam. Looks like a great time. My only crawler is a 1/24 scale. It certainly would've struggled with most of that terrain. The fms 1/18 seems like a perfect balance.... Now, I am going to watch your review again!
The 18th scale ones I have run circles around the 24th scale out there. The added length and width of them really improves the handling outside. The FMS truck looks fantastic and runs really well with the new wheels and tires I put on both gave it some more weight down low and much better grip. The Redcat Ascent18 beats it in crawling performance but lacks the super scale body and the 2 speed. The FMS you can crawl with it and it will drive as fast if not faster than you can walk so it gets from place to place without having to be picked up!
Awesome crawling video Addam. This spots amazing for it. Have a great weekend my friend
Thanks Dirk, it did really well out there. The new wheels and tires I put on both gave it some more weight down low and much better grip. I had a good time out three with it and I am glad you enjoyed it!
Chill…… nice spot you have there .
Hey Addam, that’s a miniature power Wagen for sure! Seemed that your driving skills that that little rascal crawl, claw and climb over almost everything that was in front of you. Awesome little model 😊😊best wishes to you and the family 😎🖐️🙏
It is a great looking truck ands it drives really well out there. The aftermarket wheels give it more weight down low and the aftermarket tires are a lot softer and more grippy so it does very well now. It was a fun and relaxing afternoon out there climbing around on everything! Take care my friend and have a great week ahead!
Great location for these sort of antics Addam, looks very relaxing .
Thats a very capable little rig, reminds me of the Tamiya blackfoot with that colour scheme.
Great run mate!😊👍 👍
Thanks! It is a great little truck and with new wheels and tires I put on both gave it some more weight down low and much better grip out there. I had a good time just sitting back and watching it flew and crawl over everything. I love the old school look of it.
Hey Addam, Great video on this chilly day, that little FMS FCX18 is a power house. Did seem like anything was going to get in it's way for a fun outing.
This one looks great and runs really well too. The new wheels and tires I put on both gave it some more weight down low and much better grip. In stock form it did pretty well but now there is not too much it can't conquer out there!
Nice looking truck fms bodies are so well made love the look
They are some good looking trucks. It struggled a bit more on the big rocks with the stock tires/wheels on it but with the heavier wheels and the grippy tires it does really well now.
Nice one at 8min in! Super cold here can't do nothing!
Yeah, I know it is much colder up there. Hopefully you warm up some this weekend, I know tomorrow is supposed to be nice here. It was a fun little outing with the truck and I love watching it flex and crawl around.
Now that looks like a fun day!
It was a very nice and relaxing time out there! It was chilly but I didn't pay any attention as I was watching the truck flex and crawl all over everything! It did really well out there for its smaller size!
The truck looked great out there! Nice to see you out for a crawl!👍😊
Thanks Jeremey! It has been too long! I had a good time out there just watching it crawl all over everything and flex all around. The new wheels and tires are much better over the stock ones. Gives it the weight and grip it lacks stock. I am sure I will be out there a bit more in the coming months now that the bugs are gone and i can be out there without everything buzzing around my head! LOL!
Nice one Addam 😎, It looks like a capable little truck 👍👍👍
Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it. The trucks both looks cool and performs very well. For a small scale truck it does very well. The new wheels and tires I put on both gave it some more weight down low and much better grip over the stock ones and really make a big difference out there.
Nice little playground 👍i wish it was calm like that here, getting batterd by a storm at the mo. And i need to paint a body shell 😂
Yeah I have heard from others it is rather miserable there at the moment. Sorry to hear that. We have had a cold snap for the last two weeks, I don't mind it at all and thankfully only a few days of windy and wet weather in there. I hope it settles down for you all over there very soon, I know the frustrations of having to paint but the weather not cooperating at all. Thnakfully I can use the garage in a pinch, I don't like to as it sticks up the place terribly but it is an option.
@ yeah, i love winter, frosty days, snow ect. Just not this gale force wind 😂 i need to buy a bigger house with a garage, or room for a shed 😂
Looks like a pretty capable truck! I was surprised it made it up that bank about 7:59 as it didn’t look it was going to be possible….and then boom…traction.
It was a fun time out there and the truck did great! Those climbs are what makes crawling so much fun. You might try something eleventeen times and that last time it hooks up and crawl up and over it is so rewarding! I love watching the little guy flex and craw all over out there! We went out with it again today along with several others. Nots of footage (I hope) but I have not seen any of it yet. Hopefully some good stuff got captured@
Nice crawl spot! I enjoy crawling more than bashing or racing. I find it to be a great stress reliever.
It is a whole different head space for sure. Like you mentioned, it is stress free and even when trying the same climb over and over it is not frustrating but a fun challenge to find the right moves needed to get up and over it! I was a fun outing with the truck and we were back out there today with this and several others!
That’s a great spot for that truck
Thanks! My little sleepy hallow crawler course in the woods is a fun and super convenient place to take them. I need to do some more stuff out there but for now this is plenty to have enough challenge to not get bored of it, especially with the little ones.
Insane man.... for it's size it did real damn good.... I'm shocked!!!!
These 18th scale ones do pretty well out there. The 24th scale are kind of stuck in the creek bed with the smaller rocks and can't climb out. This one and the Redcat Ascent 18 do a lot better and can tackle the bigger rocks. I just love watching it flex and crawl over everything. The FMS with the heavier body has a goo sway to it that make it more realistic!
@@AddamsPlayground I seen... I'm just shocked....
the joy of crawling .
if bob ross did rc cars he’d be a crawler guy.
although apparently he had an eye for fast cars 😂
LOL, yeas, it is a much different mindset out there and a great , relaxing time (as long as nothing breaks!).
I know Bob had a corvette at one time, I can't imagine him driving fast in it though. Occasionally leaving some happy little burn-out marks in it probably! LOL
Superb stuff Addam I can see you have enjoyed this after the let down from the rc10
I personally like fms they are great in every aspect
It was a nice afternoon to go out and just focus on watching the truck flex and crawl over everything! I do like this truck, it looks super cool and runs really well. My only complaint with it is the turn signals! I have to make a conscious effort to not get annoyed when I see them blinking all over the place while crawling! I need to try and wire them on all the time or unplug them. The new wheels and tires I put on both gave it some more weight down low and much better grip out in the dirt and the rocks. great little truck!
Love these crawling videos😊
Glad you enjoyed it! A nice chill one to start your day with! I had a good time out there with it!
@AddamsPlayground Thank you. Have a great day, and enjoy the rest of your weekend 👍
@@NikkiKuehnemund You as well!
Tiny adventure 😮
It was a nice chill afternoon out there, both literally and figuratively! They Little FMS did very well out on the big craggy rocks.
Ha ha this little sucker runs on those rocks real good!
It did well, the new wheels and tires I put on both gave it some more weight down low and much better grip. It handles the big chunky rocks pretty well now.
No snow yet??? Lucky!
Imagine that is what your drive into work is like. That would not be too bad...except for being covered in hot coffee.
Nope, it flurried for about 45 seconds Thursday morning but that was it. I am ready for it, I think I am finally done with the leaves and now I am ready for some snow! We get very little now so it is a treat for us. Much more of a burden for you guys up north!
It would be an interesting and challenging commute but yes, a sealed coffee mug would be a requirement! Possibly some Dramamine as well!
@@AddamsPlayground Yeah, we normally do not get a lot of snow now either. However...so far this year, we have had way more than usual!
That was impressive crawling and climbing by the little crawler. That rocky was not an easy environment for it. That is a good looking body. You recently went and did some bashing with your friend at his track. It might be neat to have him to do some crawling at your location.
It did really well, the new wheels and tires I put on both gave it some more weight down low and much better grip. It handles the bigger rocks now which it struggled with before, for a mini it did very well.
Funny you should mention having Al over, that is a plan that will be happening very soon!
@@AddamsPlayground That will be fun to see watch. I wish FMS would get there prices closer to Redcat's.
@@michaeldorich4485 Yeah, I agree with you. The Redcat Ascent18 is a way better crawler but not as good looking. I'd tend to go for the performance over the looks but sometimes the super scale looks win you over!
Awesome crawling Aadam! I really like the truck, very scale looking for a little guy!
FMS really does a great job on the detailed bodies and this is a nice little rig. The new wheels and tires I put on both gave it some more weight down low and much better grip. Having the two speed is nice as well as it crawls well and is very controllable but you can kick it into high gear and it goes slightly faster than a walking pace to get from one spot to the next quickly.
These are fun little trucks. I’ve got the Eazy RC glacier version and it’s a blast of n the right terrain
They really make some fantastic looking trucks and it drives well. With the new wheels and tires it does a lot better. The stock ones would not grip on the dirt and struggled some on the big rocks. These did a lot better. I had a good time just watching it flex and crawl all over everything.
Impressive car and looks great doing it. Cheers for the vid Addam.
With the brass wheels and grippy tires it is does really good out on the rocks. It struggled more on the bigger rocks when the stock tires and wheels were on there. Definitely worthy upgrades! Glad you enjoyed seeing it.
Getting cool there? Always nice when the sun is on you. Unless it's REALLY cold...! 🥶🙂
Yeah, we have had two good weeks of cold temps. It was just about freezing out there, I don't mind it but once I got inside I realized how cold I had gotten. I am good until it gets into the single digits, then I stay inside!
Cool looking truck I still haven’t gotten into crawling yet but I think it’s good change of pace definitely something to look into
It is fun and a whole different head space. Slowly picking your way through areas and trying the same thing 20 times until you get over an obstacle is quite fun. It sounds kind of dull and boring but I tell you the time flies by and the best thing is you don't need a ton of room to do any of it. A flower bed in the yard makes for a great impromptu crawler course!
That must have been fun! I just moved, so I have to find somewhere like that around me!
It was a fun time out there. It struggled more on the big rocks with the stock tires/wheels on it but with the heavier wheels and the grippy tires it does really well now. I enjoyed seeing it flex and crawl over everything. Hope you are all settled in now, moving is never fun or easy!
Last
Is that gas lol
LOL, no but it felt cold enough out there I thought I was gonna see exhaust coming from it. It was still a fun time watching the little guy flex and crawl all over everything.
I approve. 🫡
It was a fun and relaxing time out there. It has been too long since I have been out there
