    This was by far the best comparison video I've seen in my life. I lived that it was all about the driving experience and not nitty gritty of all the nook and cranny parts. Most beautiful scenery ever

    I have done several hours on both and one thing that many reviewers don’t mention but is worth mentioning - for out of box durability, this Traxxas is far superior. Both are very fun and crawl nicely, but within hours, my FMS rear driveshaft broke, followed by the front differential. After replacing those, the transmission was next. Then the rear differential. This is all just low gear crawling, not bashing. I’d accept this all, if it were a far better crawler, but it just isn’t - they are pretty equivalent. The FMS is more detailed and two gears is kinda handy but it comes at the downside of being a much more fragile rig. In the time I’ve replaced and upgraded nearly everything on the FMS (out of necessity), nothing on the Traxxas has broken except a side mirror. As you can imagine, the Traxxas gets probably twice as much use while the FMS is needing parts.

      That all depends on the skills of the driver and the knowledge one possesses on the rig at hand. Us locals have many of all scales down here in our mountain range, including some 1/18's. The amount of money and work my brother has had to put into his TRXM to perform like my LC80 is ridiculous. I still haven't had an issue yet, but we also recognize limits and don't strain the crap out of them if bound up. But many folks don't, and we see it all the time.
      Luckily, these FCX's are also dirt cheap to repair or even mod when needed. So that's also reassuring.
      Traxxas better pay attention and step their game up and prices down. The new FCX10 is a TRX4 killer straight out the box at a fraction of the cost.
      Happy crawling with them all!

      I also have both 4M Bronco and FCX18 LC80. I too disagree with most of these videos claiming it’s so much better than 4M…Firstly, in fairness I’ve only had my FCX18 since New Year’s Day…No problems so far…I’ve had my 4M Bronco since they hit the shelf at Hobbytown..also no problems. As far as crawling capabilities I can only compare to the extent of my little indoor course which is more obstacles and not actual rocks so take my remarks in that context but the FCX18 does no better than the Bronco on any of it.They are about a tie at best imo.I took the FCX18 outside on my little 1/24 course(with a few rocks) and it did ok and was fun but I haven’t had the Bronco out there yet so I can’t say yet.But I will be finding out though. I even put the same rims(same weight)and pretty similar tires on the FCX18 that I have on the Bronco so as not to let the Bronco have heavier wheels as an advantage.Both have stock electronics but I already had Injora 53mm shocks on the Bronco so I did put #200 oil in the stock fms shocks to try keep it even as possible.
      This is only my take and only to the extent of my indoor small course which consists of obstacles like stairs,inclines,declines,narrow bridges and sharp turns that need some forward reverse work sometimes.In this narrow regard the FCX18 is not better but maybe a tie. I’m not talking features I’m talking performance wise. For example the FCX18 has the slow speed crawl gear but to get up the back side of my teeter totter or up the steeper side of spray foam hill that crawler slow gear does nothing..only in fast gear will it make it on these two parts. Not saying the Bronco is better either but I will add this;I’ve had the Bronco since it came out and have only put wheels & tires and injora shocks.Ive only had the FCX18 for 3 months so can’t even compare longevity. But I also have an older version FMS 1:18 LC80 that I got when I got the Bronco and it’s on its 3rd gearbox assembly and second esc..so I was skeptical and planned on staying away from this one but TH-cam pulled me in and I got one anyway. I’m not disappointed at all I enjoy all my RC toys but definitely not the best thing smoking either.
      Same thing is happening right now with the new 1/10 truck people comparing it to the TRX4 but nobody’s comparing them on the crawler course actually going at it..and yeah I have a TRX4 Blazer over 2 years now still stock except wheels and brass front diff cover. But if something breaks I can go to Hobbytown and probably be back riding-in a day. If something breaks on that new fms 1/10 blazer it’s gonna be down at least a week trying to get replacement parts..so there’s that also.
      Very sorry for the super long post but some of it was necessary to point out imho.

      @Freakeye_RC Fair enough. I agree. They are all great, no matter the case. I'm just basing my opinion on my LC80 to my brothers 4M Bronco out on the rocks, and this video demonstrates nearly the same scenario I've witnessed out there. I haven't wedged it in anywhere and tried pushing it through. That's a big nono for me. But I have tumbled it down tens of feet down granite rocks with no issues either. I know some of that can be luck at times. As for the FCX10, I've seen every video put out on it so far. The Shop-Mini RC has some great ones. He has been bashing it for a bit before release, and has rolled it straight off of a 30' or so cliff, tumbling down in a very violent way to still be ready to go when he found it. I can say the same for the TRX4, but the comparison in price with all the extras in the FCX10 is mind-blowing. The durability, without a doubt, is well attested for on his channel, as well.
      We will see, tho. I have high hopes from what I've seen...

      @@OkieDokieBoi Me too.. it’s all about the fun brother, and I’m not saying I won’t get one but I’m definitely gonna be watching for quite awhile first and try not to get reeled in by TH-cam..It might be a Awesome truck for sure but for people to just be saying it’s better with it only being out a week is kinda disingenuous when the Trx4 has been around and have the same features pretty much except dig.And we know these bigger TH-cam channels have a Trx4 blazer sitting around..so I’m sure someone will do one soon enough…also curious if will it be interchangeable with other 1/10 stuff,after market support,parts availability etc;time will tell

    • @OkieDokieBoi
      @OkieDokieBoi 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Freakeye_RC yessir, Roger that. I can't lie, YT reeled me in hard on it, but that doesn't go without days of research of my own, as I am a researchaholic, indeed.
      It is quite different, tho, and a very unique platform. It does have independently locking front and rear diffs instead of being mixed, and it is four-linked front and rear, SOA. Also, the front and rear driveshafts are counter rotating, thus eliminating much torque twist. Out of the box, it is perfectly center weighted at 50% front to rear & side to side. So it won't take much for the 60/40 or whatever floats the users boat. Dig or the option to RWD only is just a bonus. Could be a really fun donut maker to impress the ladies, lol!
      It really is quite unique in its own ways for sure. I believe aftermarket is going to dive all over this one. So much opportunity, imo. I believe it's going to be a real winner. We shall see!

    Thank you for the review I have a Defender M the FMS 1:18 & a Fury Wagon each has upgrades minimum metal beadlocks n tires but I just picked up the Hobby Plus Evo Pro Brushless version with Furitek & after taking them all out It appears there’s a new big dog in the house. It has created its own 1:18 class it’s basically a 1:18 comp rig. The only one to hold its own against it was the Fury wagon. I really do t think the Furitek rigs would keep up except maybe the new one that just came out. But as soon as it got steep & off camber the Evo was in its own class no way the Fury could beat that low profile & great performance. Now it’s not perfect but we are already upgrading ours & people are sharing there fixes & mods. You definitely have to get one they have a brushless version which is harder to get & the brushed version. You will be amazing it’s like none other in that size.

      @JCpNK 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I have both and had the TRX4m first.. (only upgrades are crawler gears and one size up tires and steel wheels)… I was Sooo disappointed after my first session with my LC80 because even with the clearance it was so top heavy it wouldn’t do half the climbs or side hills my 4m did.. I’ve since added shock keys, different wheels and tires, fixed the steering and cut the fenders due to the lower stance and I have it where I want it. Even with all that my 4m has better control. Also there’s hardly any lash so the 4m is way better on downhill descents… Moral of the story, get both! Both are great and different in their own way 😊

Even though I said I wouldn’t buy another fms..I broke down and got this fcx18 anyway.I got it and the trx4m high trail a couple weeks ago so I can’t say much.I changed the esc and receiver in the High trail so it’s no comparison but as for my bronco all it has is heavier wheels but even with stock wheels I don’t know if the fms is a better crawler.

IF, i say if, its true that Traxxas 'dropped' him, then that should be proof enough for all the fanboys like yourself, that Traxxas is a backwards a$$ company. Channels like these are precious gems for the whole community.. and if a company doesn't understand that even a not perfect review is a good review then shame on them!
