    I greatly appreciate this video brother, I have been looking into getting a TLX Type-S about a year and a half from now I know its a heavy vehicle and its not exactly the fastest in a quarter mile or 0-60 time but Im also not one to just package everything into quarter mile/0-60 times.
    This vehicle is exactly what I am looking for it is fast enough and I know it has some potential to make a few more HP, with the addition of a few more HP from a tune and the handling dynamic of this car will make for an even more fun to drive car.
    Im not looking to beat anyone in a race I know this aint gonna smoke a M3, C43AMG, SCAT pack Charger, etc. this is more of a in my own lane and vibe type of vehicle and Im here for it. I appreciate the video 💯💯

      The K tuner absolutely changed the acceleration & sound especially if you're running catted or cattles downpipes but unfortunately I just got a check engine light code p2270 for bank 1 sensor, now I have installed catted primary & secondary pipes by IMR America so when called them the guy told me that I may have to remove a catted sensor inside the defouler that he installed so I'll have to look into that, also you cannot change any parameters with K tuner such as disable O2 sensor

    • @BCautosolutions
      @BCautosolutions  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@djsthemetereman that can’t be, the o2 on the cat is only for cat efficiency monitoring. The code your getting is for a stick lean condition which would either be a lean condition on the sensor itself before the cat on that bank.

    • @BCautosolutions
      @BCautosolutions  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! So the swift springs kept camber in spec. There is no camber adjustability. I contacted spc and basically got shot down on a camber kit for the rears so to the complexity of dealing with multi link system. It’s not a no, although would require massive measurements and most likely more then 1 arm to make it right. Neither that I’m willing to deal with unless I needed it which I personally dont.

    • @BCautosolutions
      @BCautosolutions  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hps intake is a no from me. Heat soaking is a concern as well as incorrect/unstable maf readings. I don’t know if anyone working on anything for weight savings unfortunately. I have a couple ideas brewing which all cost time and money to see if it’s even possible.

    • @eric9249
      @eric9249 ปีที่แล้ว

      No experience with this platform in particular, but, from my tests on my car; heat soaking from a "hot air intake" is nominal. Ambient air enters the turbo where it is heated and compressed... a few degrees will have close to zero affect. What does matter is that intercooler! Again, maybe different platforms could vary. Nice car! First time I'm looking at the type s engine bay.... A little bit intimidating I'm not gonna lie.

      My goal is to be comfy with 500 awd hp for a reasonable price. Comparable cars with awd and tech cost $10k more, and their awd is inferior. This engine is overbuilt and with $2k in mods it outperforms those cars. Once custom tuning is unlocked, we will find out how strong the transmission and drivetrain is, but that block is built for more than I plan on. I wouldn’t be surprised if that 10k price differential, invested in mods, makes this car an M4 for the price of an m340i.

    This thing desperately needs a bigger turbo to make decent power. Unfortunately, with poor sales, the aftermarket couldn't care less about this car. Great looking car, not much potential though.

    • @BCautosolutions
      @BCautosolutions  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sales isn’t poor although there’s a shit ton more civic type R which still means the same thing. Poor aftermarket support. It’ll be a painfully slow development 🤣

    • @CU08
      @CU08 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BCautosolutions ... if it's not due to poor sales, I suppose the aftermarket just doesn't feel it's a platform with a lot of potential or the buying clientele are the type to modify their cars. Sad, because I'd go out and buy one tomorrow if they were making decent power thru mods with this car. It really is a looker. Instead, the Integra Type-S seems the way to go to get more power, with the Civic Type-R making 430whp with turbo swap and FBO (and tune obviously). But the Integra is just a bit small for me and ... well, a chick car if we're all being honest. The 3.0T should pretty easily be making upper-400wHP with a turbo swap and FBO if tuning was available, but even Hondata said it wasn't worth their time. I was hoping they'd change their minds, but this late in the game, it doesn't seem like they will.

    • @BCautosolutions
      @BCautosolutions  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CU08 yeah the integra, and both civic type R both share tons of part so the aftermarket sales volume will be there and will create a much bigger profit margin for all these companies and at the end of the day, it’s all about the Benjamin’s. Tlx just doesn’t have enough of them to have enough of a profit margin and like you said, half of the owners most likely won’t even modify them at all.

      On my Q50 I ran a JB4 for a couple years with no problem. The car ran mid 12sec 1/4. Then I could pull the jb4 off and take it to the dealer like nothing happened. The problem is it seems like the jb4 doesn’t work as well on the tlx type s as it does on the 3.0 infinity’s. I’m really happy with the car though. My infinity may have been a little faster in a strait line but this type s would smoke it in the turns.
