You had all the views you did because you are good. You speak clearly and quickly. No frills, right to the point, and honest. You don't play for 10 minutes when you begin videos. You're experienced and knowledgeable as well! Thanks for your time.
Phil, while I’ve watched your videos for seemingly forever, I have been able to play more guitar this year than I have in maybe the last 5 years. This extra attention on guitar has me binging your content almost every day, as I obsess over absorbing all the incredible knowledge you share with the world. I’m so grateful for your podcast, informative videos, and overall great demeanor. You’re a role model. Keep up the great work!
great year, thank you much! keep on keepen' on - integrity+ wins every time = trust. Appreciate the devotion and work you put into your channel Phillip.
From one Phil to another, thank you! I've learned so much from your videos and regularly do my own set ups and most of my repairs now. You saved me $!!
Your videos have that cool uncle feeling. I keep watching most of them even though I have stopped obsessing over gear. Thats all you, you deserve all the success that have come your way!
Another great year Phil, thanks for all the work you put in, and of course massive shootout to Mrs McKnight for all the unseen work behind the scenes. Happy holidays to your family!
For companies having their gear reviewed, if they dont take the negative feedback as a chance to improve, they are missing out on some great opportunitues. How you react to failure is very important in business.
Love the year-end-review always find gems you’ve missed. Phil you’re great and you never speak down to anyone in talking about guitars, that’s why we all watch and listen.
whenever youre able to find a youtube channel thats truely good and genuine for a hobby you do, its a great feeling. phillip mcknight is that for guitars for me
The Rickenbacker: Phil. See if you can pick up a Rickenbacker 660/12 for a decent amount. Its got a wider neck than the 360/12 or the 620/12(It was custom spec'd by Tom Petty for his signature model. Then Rickenbacker put it into general production). I have two 12 string Ricks and while I adore the 360/12 for the aesthetic, the 660 is the better PLAYING guitar.
You have some of the most helpful videos, man. You deserve the attention!! I've been doing tech work for years, and I often go to your channel when I am stumped! ❤
What an amazing video genuinely one of the best guitar videos Ive seen so far, fluent and to the point and honest definitely gonna watch more of this channel
Amazing year and content and my first year as high tier (proud) patron. Phil is for sure the most genuine, honest and funniest dude on the scene. also, when joining the patron community- I live all the way up in North Europe, Phil(and Shauna) sent my welcome package. That is just another level ❤️
Great recap vid Phil... what a year of gear, huh? I bought fewer guitars but lots of pedals and other gear! The holiday season is already swinging like sleigh bells... and next year is gonna be a blast! Thanks for all your do on your channel keeping us informed and entertained! Since the beginning, your shows have been some of my favorites of all of them! 😎🤘🎸🎄🎅🎁🐦
Appreciated the DGT SE review, bought one. For me, the magic is in the fact that before I pick it up I don't prefer the neck and the action, ever, yet all that is gone after the first note. So its totally reliable in my hands, but lurks as a spy when its on the stand, so that I can't do when I think about it, I do when I do it. Its a bargain Zen object, quite powerful! And it looks fantastic!
Nice Recap! I’ve been craving that Spark Go, even though I’ve already got the other two models. I just love the sound and ease of use. And now they have a cabinet too! Add that to about half the stuff in this video, and 2024 might be the year I declare bankruptcy!
Great year Phil. I appreciate what you do. I've bought a couple of Orangewood's as a result of your review (the Hudson and the Sage) and I absolutely love them! Looking forward to the day when I can be worthy (and afford) a Badlands. Love the concept, love the looks, love the sounds. Wishing you the best of luck in the new year Good Sir!
I bought an Enya after watching the video. Unfortunately, I think the company has changed in ungood ways. First, the delivery kept getting pushed back (eventually by months). Second, one of the big selling points are the onboard effects, programmable through the iOS app. Unfortunately, the iOS app isn't working - users (me included) have been unable to create accounts, and even once in the app no longer permits customization of the effects. That made the guitar significantly less useful to me. For $150, I would have kept it. For $279, it wasn't worth keeping - sent it back to Amazon. That said, I LOVE the concept of an all-carbon-fiber traveler that I can leave onboard the RV in traveling months and carry with me on the plane for vacation. For me, Enya just wasn't quite it, yet.
I want to thank you for all your insight as I'm only learning to play electric guitar and your channel has been extremely helpful. Congratulations and much success in the coming year.
Video on the D’Angelico Mini! Curious about how the Premier one you ended up with compares with the Excel Tour model you reviewed earlier, and why you didn’t go with a Tour version for your Mini.
Best gear channel ever. According to me of course. What i mean to say : THX si much for your guidance. Your channel is a must when looking for the gear that matches the need. Whish you a fabulous 2024!
Probably been said but the nice thing about reviews here is its like asking a friend what they think of something. No BS just an honest review by a player who is looking out for another guitar player.
I can definitely relate to David Kowalski's reasoning because I work for a competitor & working the nightshift can be brutal! As this video is playing, my attention is sharply focused on the brown guitar with gold accessories, (the keisel a2)looks sharp! Personally, I never gave any guitar a chance without a locking system & w/fine tune tremelow having grown up w/MIJ 1985 Westone Spectrum LX which played perfectly until I lost everything! Starting over, I have some affection for a fesley LP & a made in China B.C. Rich Warlock. (I love the way the shape helps it stay on my lap) I find myself mostly playing the bc rich & falling in love with it & cheaper guitars!
You're a class act, Phil. You're honest, an excellent and knowledgeable player/troubleshooter/analyst guitar guy. On top of that you seem a very modest man whom I think is someone that if I met you I would like instantly. Thank you for sharing your considerable knowledge about the instruments we love and play! Btw, since you own several headless guitars have you considered reviewing the Spirit GT by Steinberger?. I have one and it was perfect for taking to lessons in a tiny booth and as a travel guitar. Definitely not the high dollar quality headless guitars you own but it might make an interesting review. Just a suggestion. Keep up the great work of making quality videos!
My first time seeing this show. I liked it a lot. Thanks. I want to ask you a question because you seem so connected to everything. Since brass is great for sustain, and stainless steel is catching on at lest with frets, due to durability and cleanliness, how come nobody’s making an alloy of brass and stainless steel? They’re cheap, easy to combine, and seem like a great idea for guitars. They’re only two metals apart from each other, so they’re safe from galvanic corrosion. Would it be a bad idea for frets, bridges, tremolos, nuts, and tuners?
Great roundup Phil! Wonder if you might consider doing a video on the current version of the Steinberger guitars ie the Spirit GT. With all your recent talk about headless guitars, would be interesting to see your breakdown of these models considering their current affordable price point relative to many other headless guitars. Wonder if anyone else here in the comments would agree.
I found your content after watching your signature reveal on kiesel. All the more reason to get a kiesel. I currently use my first guitar I bought back in high school it’s a squire affinity jazz bass 4 string.
Wow!! I was thinking of starting a guitar review channel but I'm not a luthier or a retailer like so many of the popular channels. Hell! I'm not even that good on guitar! I know I'll never get anywhere near your dizzy heights but man, with this many views, you must be making a serious amount of money! Certainly enough that you can make the channel your primary source of income. My favourite channel is the Guitaristas. Colin is just brilliant but, even with all of his years of experience in the industry, he doesnt scrape enough income from youtube to even think about quiting his other work. Any advice for a would be content maker? Love the videos BTW, keep up the good work. Always sound and practical advice.
Pretty embarrassing Reverb flub but I accepted an offer on a Premier DC thinking it was a Premier Mini DC (the regular DC is still really great though). Cool to see you got one, would definitely enjoy a video on that guitar. I tried one in my local store and it played great.
I like how you mention that you when you play a good guitar you are enjoying yourself as you play. What a simple concept that is often overlooked for other irrelevant points. Thanks for that - and for being honest.
Your review on the Spark Go, made me buy the Spark Mini, and I couldn't be happier, I play it every day. My mom passed recently and I had to go back home to deal with all that. I brought my Maybach Lester (LP) with me and my Spark Mini, which worked wonderful for light late night jamming, as well as a fantastic bluetooth speaker to play a few of her favorite songs at the small memorial we had for her. Cheers.
I have a Gibson SG 61 standard, Fender american vintage 2 tele 51, PRS wood library McCarty 594 and a Patrick james eggle hss strat, whats a model i should get next that adds something different to my collection?
On a smaller screen, the holo flash Badlands looks like a Dana Scoop thats been repainted in silver (saran finish) or holo flash. This is not the first time I have misidentified a guitar (or car) and obsessed over an idealized image of something online. Guess I know where my next obsession may be heading.
I have the same C1 Silver Mountain in the FRS configuration. Holds its own against my JEM and still is a unique enough guitar that it is now an irreplaceable part of my music. plus it fills the wild-paint-and-loud-color-guitar shaped hole in my heart. I recommend it for anyone, an it usually is the first guitar people want to hear more about when they see it on the rack, even next to a JEM.
I have tried to like the Rickebacker, Fender, Gretsch, and other 12 strings. The Danelectro is good for what it is. I have a Reverend 12, and it's awesome! It was designed to be a 12 string and not just a 6 string altered to be a 12 string. It plays well, sounds great, and each string can be intonated to play in tune.
How did that custom guitar not make the list? I forgot the maker, but it was absolutely beautiful and sounded better than any guitar I have heard on any of your videos?!
Thanks for all your hard work great video and yes on the PRS stuff I'm a proud owner of a 17 year old custom22 it's still a perfect axe and I would like to see more on Epiphones stuff I've got 4 of them Peace n MERRY CHRISTMAS
Hey Phil! Love your videos! If you're looking for a nice electric 12-string, I can recommend the Schechter TSH -12. I've had one for a couple years and it sounds wonderful and plays very nicely. It has two lipstick style humbuckers that chime very nicely, and includes a coil split.
Thank you for your Danelectro 12 string shout out! I brought my Dano Pro to my biggest local guitar store for a set up and the tech said, "They used to sell these in gas stations". Only go there now if I absolutley have to. Especially now. The quality is punching way above price point.
Hi Mr. McKnight. Do you know anything about Gibson getting all upset with Dimarzio and wanting to sue them? Thank You for any information you may have.

Also you don't curse and have this clean persona and don't do anything annoying. Not having stupid intros and outros also helps.
Word!
Yeah!
All killer no filler.
All of this!
Thanks Phil. I love hanging out on Friday nights with you. I always look forward to it.
You earned the views because of your realism and transparency. Appreciate you and Shauna Phil. Blessings!
What a year Phil. Thanks for all the insights and dedication to helping us know our gear.

That D'angelico looks rad! Yes, review it!!!
Just really found your channel this year and can’t wait for Fridays. Here’s to a new year and another year of stellar content.

@Phil Thanks for sharing 🎸 Always enjoy your TH-cam channel ✌️
Hello Phil, found your channel this year and I think I’ve already watched more than 500hs of content. Absolutely top tier guitar and gear channel ❤
Wow, thank you
Appreciated the DGT SE review, bought one. For me, the magic is in the fact that before I pick it up I don't prefer the neck and the action, ever, yet all that is gone after the first note. If I've said thank you a million times, I haven't said it enough.
Thank for your time and talent Phil. 💯👍. \m/
Dark Gene half watt amp is by far my favorite piece of gear!
Congrats on a great year Phil! Would love to see a video on the DC mini; I just scooped up a DC Excel XT during the sales and it's been a lot of fun.
Great year Phil. Thanks for all the info and help!!!!
Based on your review I bought a Go. I love that little thing. Perfect for practice away from home along with Bluetooth music to play along with.
Thanks for another great year Phil. Always enjoyable

heres to another great year of amazing guitar content phil. keep it up!
Thanks for another year of great content! Have a great next year!
YES! Do the D’Angelico mini!!
Would love for you to be able to review rj gigline series they say it's the same factory as where squire is made
Great year Phil. I appreciate what you do. I've bought a couple of Orangewood's as a result of your review (the Hudson and the Sage) and I absolutely love them! Merry Christmas Phil! You make my ‘Best TH-cam channels of 2023’ list for sure.
My favorite this year..Eventide H90, Friedman irx, Merris X, Boss GX100
PRS should bring back the Standard 22/24 but made in Korea!, Full violin carve, Moon inlay, solid colors only. ;)
I love the channel. Your success is well deserved. I would love to see you review the Sully Raven and Keisel Solo.
Congratulations on a great year. Really enjoy your reviews and the tone of your delivery.
Hey Phil - congratulations on the big year ! I'd love to see any reviews of D'Angelico guitars that you'd care to make... Good luck in 2024 !
I want to thank you for all your insight as I'm only learning to play electric guitar and your channel has been extremely helpful. Congratulations and much success in the coming year.
You should get record reviews! Phil: you do an excellent job all around! Happy Holidays to you and yours
😊

Congratulations, Phil, I watched the video where DG mentioned your name and I was like, yep, Phillip McKnight is a household name now!
I would be very interested in seeing that dangelico mini you discussed in the video.
Thank you for arranging the deal with Stewmac!
Congratulations on everything you have done this year, man. I enjoyed watching them all

It's been another really great year Phil ! Your hard work is appreciated 🎸
P>S> - Dream rig is an Alembic Guitar into that Steel String Singer Amp. Oh my...
Another great year of gear and video reviews! I would love to watch a review of your Supro Black Magick amp. All the best for 2024.
Great roundup Phil! Wonder if you might consider doing a video on the current version of the Steinberger guitars ie the Spirit GT. I have the Danelectro 12 string hollow. It's awesome, especially for the price!
The best guitar & gear show of 2023 (or any year) is Phillip McKnight. Quality all the way, all day long. Love your show!
I love this channel, even my wife who doesn't play will sit and watch a random episode with me.
I found your content after watching your signature reveal on kiesel. All the more reason to get a kiesel. I currently use my first guitar I bought back in high school it’s a squire affinity jazz bass 4 string.

You didn’t mention Laney!!! I bought one because of your review!!
He did actually. Laney were the very last two products mentioned in the video at 30:16
Definitely want to see the new d'angelico!
Yamaha rss20 all the way, best value, great guitar.
Awesome recap 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Another year gone by… love the review and yes let’s see that D’Angelico
Great video as always!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🤘
Pretty embarrassing Reverb flub but I accepted an offer on a Premier DC thinking it was a Premier Mini DC (the regular DC is still really great though). Cool to see you got one, would definitely enjoy a video on that guitar. I tried one in my local store and it played great.
Hey Phil, so do you consider the PRS SE DGT to be the best in the SE line? I have been considering it and the Silver Sky...
Hey just out of curiosity I’m gonna try to jump in the live stream Friday what time do they usually start?
I have small hands so a shorter scale neck suits me fine !
Would love a D'Angelico video.
Sorry for your loss friend, but I’m glad you were able to use music to give you some peace, even for a little while.
@travisharrington5819 Thanks man.
Anyone know where I can get those rubber feet for an amplifier? That’s a great idea!
I use www.tubesandmore.com/search/node/rubber%20feet
Right 0! Thanks for the reply Phil! I actually ordered 7 sets!
I have a Gibson SG 61 standard, Fender american vintage 2 tele 51, PRS wood library McCarty 594 and a Patrick james eggle hss strat, whats a model i should get next that adds something different to my collection?
I’d really like a review of the D’Angelico mini, because I’m looking for a hollow body
I would love to see what you think of the Schecter PT Pro. Since it's a model that is about as traditional as Schecter gets.
TRY OUT A REVEREND AIRWAVE 12 STRING!
How did that custom guitar not make the list? I forgot the maker, but it was absolutely beautiful and sounded better than any guitar I have heard on any of your videos?!
Great year of reviews Phil, still love watching you! Even if it drives my wife crazy lol
You should try the Reverend 12 string instead of the Dan electro 12 string, or maybe try them both
Thanks for all your hard work great video and yes on the PRS stuff I'm a proud owner of a 17 year old custom22 it's still a perfect axe and I would like to see more on Epiphones stuff I've got 4 of them Peace n MERRY CHRISTMAS
I've been playing for over 5 decades, and the PRS DGT (2023) is one of the best guitars I've played (bought one last month).
Video on the d’angelico mini please
Con grads Phil been a fan for a good few years now and love your channel and what you do
Hi Mr. McKnight. Do you know anything about Gibson getting all upset with Dimarzio and wanting to sue them? Thank You for any information you may have.
Hard agree on the PRS DGT SE... it was the model (including the price point) that finally broke me down in owning a PRS.
We need more people like Phil in this world.
