Season one did throw plenty of hints that Norman was always the Green Goblin. They were just subtle that plenty of people could've missed them on the first watch. A few of us suspected it, but it was still such a refreshing way to handle an old, solved mystery.
Despite being a kid's show,even I was feeling the overwhelmed by the prospect that spidey is in a never ending crusade. Sad that such a good show is cancelled just after 2 season.
Truly the definitive Spiderman show. Although we may never see a Season 3, I am so grateful that this show even exists and that this was my first introduction to Spiderman as a kid. This truly was the Spectacular Spiderman.
The fact they managed to make a c level villain like tombstone that well is amazing and they didn’t even take the relationship with Robbie from the comics to make him a better villain, they wrote him like the king pin and made it work better !
I love the amount of foreshadowing that is set, and how much is planned prior to the big smack of big events. We first get to actually meet Black Cat and Chameleon in the symbiote arc, yet we actually see them prior. Chameleon is first seen as Norman Osborn when Green Goblin breaks into Oscorp, and Black Cat is seen in the halloween costume party carrying a bag of "candy"/jewelry. The perfect time where being less stealthy would be less noticable, as everyone would see a person in a costume with a bag as normal. This show is perfect in details both big and small.
This is the last great Spidey series. Spectacular Spider-Man is the one series that actually follows the roots of the original comics, it is a really shame it was axed. Spectacular had so many plans for the future and as of today we will never get to see it.

Spectacular Spider-Man being the best Spider-Man cartoon of all time isn't really a impressive accomplishment, since earlier shows haven't aged very well and later cartoons such as Ultimate Spider-Man are God Awful crap.
Have you watched Spider-Man 1994? You really should watch it and review it since it's a great Spider-Man series. It might even be better than this show.
That show is really good and super nostalgic but when I rewatched it, it’s a little rougher than this series and the Morbius Arc goes on too long but its definitely the 2nd best show to come out
The artwork of Spectacular Spider-Man really sucked but the stories were pretty great. It was published when Marvel still had respect for the intelligence of the audience. Compare the Disney junk, Ultimate Spider-Man to see the difference. The artwork was far superior but the stories sucked. And what was up with that stupid spider-pig and spider-baby junk?
@@crangejo - Respectfully disagree. BUT, I'm not a fan of Anime either, which is what the Spectacular Spider-Man art reminds me of. I go for much more realism - like the comic books - not the jagged-hair style of Anime. A shocked facial expression is more than a circle drawn on a face where the mouth should be. That's representative of a mouth - not a mouth.

It's stylised as hell which is what makes it look so unique, while everything that strives to be "realistic" will just become obsolete as time goes by Besides that, the actual character designs are very good adaptations while also sprinkling some unique flavour to it. Electro, Vulture, Mysterio, the Green Goblin, they all look so distinct, but also so classic
@@crangejo - To be sure, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. When I first started reading Spider-Man and Fantastic Four, the characters were drawn more realistically. When I was a kid I read Sad Sack comic books and those characters were drawn like cartoons - Bugs Bunnyish. We get fixated on things. A duck will follow the first thing it sees move after it comes out of the shell. I'm a lot like that. Anime isn't my bag because that's not what I'm fixed on. I know guys who love anime but I still call it by its old name, "Japanimation" (Speed Racer style). So Peter Parker (to me) isn't a representation of a person but a person. It's totally subjective. But don't get me wrong, the stories told in Spectacular Spider-Man are FAR superior to the mess that is out of Disney - although Disney's artwork is more to my liking (sans the spider-pig nonsense).

Trying to freeze the symbiote is a bad idea because it survived the icy cold of space (around 3-degrees Kelvin... ish).
