There were planning for 5 seasons and three movies! The final season would be him graduating high school and the three movies will be focusing on him in College.
Rewatching it right now and with every moment in the series where I think "Man this is awesome" I immediately become bitter over how this show never got to reach its full potential
I feel like the 3rd season would’ve left Peter at an all time low... He’d have his close friends leaving him, like Harry, The Season would really focus on the s2 finale and the knock on effects of the final few episodes

Im a 90s kid and I wll always tell you SPECTACULAR SPIDERMAN IS THE GREATEST SPIDER-MAN SERIES EVER! I was skeptical at first because of the character designs but that series is my favorite animated show of all time. I'm SO SALTY we never got a season 3 because I really wanted to see Eddie and Pete who were like Brothers in the show before Eddie got made and became Venom to rekindle that bond they had and then team up to fight Carnage in S3 and squashing their bro beef. We even saw Kasady cameo in S2 and that made me SO UPSET at the conclusion we never got! Love this series rewatch it constantly. The 90s one is fun for nostalgia but after rewatching it recently as an adult it has not aged well, theres lots of corny lines and reused animation, also Spidey only throws A TOTAL of 2 punches the entire series in 65 eps. I watched it literally last month and counted. Fun for nostalgia but doesnt hold up that well.
This is why I love you Jaxblade. You got amazing taste in anime and in cartoon shows. Spectacular Spider-Man is my FAVORITE cartoon of all time. I started watching the 90's Spider-Man series again. It seem good, but it's no Spectacular Spider-Man.
Agreed 1003%. The designs were a turnoff at first but I ended up loving this incarnation of Spiderman. Looking back at the 90s show, was a bit jarring for me in recent years sadly. I feel 90s X-Men aged better despise it being produced earlier. But I'll never forget that feeling seeing the X-Men cross over with him for the first time....that was the hypest shit I've ever seen until Marvel VS Capcom became a thing.
Comparing Spectacular Spiderman to Spiderman TAS is like comparing a planet made of diamond to a planet made of gold. I think both shows are masterpieces.
Spectacular Spiderman is, in my opinion, the best incarnation of Spiderman outside the comics. Rewatched it again a few weeks ago and it was even better than I remembered.
Relationated to stickyness , in an episode of spectacular spider-man , one of the villains hums the intro of the show and as the two villains that were with him , Shocker and Ricochet , looked at him and he sayed "What? It's sticky"
i find it ironic how he never really died. and no being erased is not the same as dying. Eobard Thawne from Legends of Tomorrow season 2 confirms that.
Spectacular is really great, but there's a few reasons why I prefer the 90's show: 1) I really enjoy Peter being in college and being an adult. So many Spider-Man shows, movies, and reboots have him in high school, and it gets exhausting. It feels like negative character growth for Spider-Man in general to have him constantly restart in high school, especially since he was only in high school for four years real time (62-65). Spectacular probably does the high school Spider-Man the best out of any adaptation I've seen, but it's still a bit tiring. 2) I absolutely love the crossovers the 90's show has. It was always so much fun to see him interact with other heroes, especially Daredevil, and it gave us one of the best story arcs in the show. It really gives the show a unique feel to have crossovers like that and show his relationship to other superheroes that I wish other Spidey shows would do (I know Ultimate would do this too, but not nearly as well as the 90's show did). Spectacular does have better aspects than the 90's show, like having Peter have love interests that aren't MJ or Gwen, which is definitely interesting to see, but I just like the 90's show better.
Avery Graham I think Tombstone made more sense anyway. Kingpin is a large, strong, fast, genius, none of those on Spider-Man's level, Tombstone, as the show demonstrated, is a vicious brick. The perfect counter to Spidey's powers. The only advantages Kingpin would have are experience, which Tombstone also has, and his power staff, which Tombstone doesn't need. Add to that the fact that Kingpin has become more closely associated with Daredevil, even though he started as a Spidey villain, and I think Tombstone was a change for the better.
Batfan1939 I mean, yeah, they *definitely* used what they had to the full extent, I’m just pointing out why they used him, not saying that he wasn’t awesome for it, because he was definitely a fucking badass
I found it funny that Tombstone was called "the Big Man" by his subordinates and Fredrick Foswell was in this series, because in the comics Foswell WAS the Big Man. He was a villain in Spidey's early days, waring a mask and bulky suit to seem bigger and using the Enforcers to unite the gangs of New York into working under him. He was eventually exposed and arrested, but, after doing minimal jail time, got released and rehired as a reporter to the Daily Bugle. When the Kingpin was introduced, Foswell attempted to wrest control away from him, but after finding out Fisk was WAY stronger and smarter than him, he decided to become the Kingpin's lackey, though he ended up being a mole to the Daily Bugle and died saving Jamison's life.
Batfan1939 I absolutely think that this version of Tombstone was a welcome change. Besides, there's nothing wrong with adapting characters a little bit differently here and there in different media. Tombstone in the comics is typically depicted as being a hitman, but I actually like that version of being a competent crime lord.
I view the seasons of the 90s Spider-man as this: S1- Solid. Great rendition of the Venom saga, and the Hobgoblin became one of my favorite characters. S2- Rushed. It had a lot of good moments, but it seemed like there was no room to breathe, especially during the Tablet of Time 2-parter. S3- PERFECT. This is the highlight for me. Peter's actions last season have consequences that are shown here, Kingpin and Smythe's business relationship finally crumbles, there's a great 2-parter involving Daredevil, and the Green Goblin is finally introduced. He may only have been in three episodes, but he changed the series forever. S4- Lazy. The Black Cat finally gets introduced, and, like in the comics, she's enamored with Spider-man, but that plot thread is scuttled the moment Morbius returns. Lots of plots seem to go nowhere, and recycled animation is used the most this season. S5- Goofy. In Season 3 Madam Web was introduced and was training Spidey to fight an unspeakable horror. This season, after a bizarre storyline pitting the Insidious Six against old WW2-era superheroes to locate a secret Nazi weapon, Madam Web returns and has Spidey assemble a team of superheroes to fight a bunch of villains in a battle-world, then assemble a bunch of Spider-men (including Ben Reilly, the Scarlet Spider in the comics) to fight an evil version of himself. The entire season is just weird and way too scifi for me personally, yet it's considered the best season of the series.
Agreed the third season was best and 2 and 4 had too much Morbius but I thought all the series outside of maybe season 1 had a pretty large amount of scifi aspect, I don't see that season 5 had a lot more than the others.
The second season was not rushed. But I do agree the 5th season did get sillier and have all these crossovers. The first half of season 4 is great imo while the rest are eh
I'm hoping that Spectacular can make their return. Disney brought back Clone Wars, and I didn't hear any hate for it, and it even got a spin off. Disney could certaintly work out a deal for it to come on Disney Plus.
The show either. Is so boring see so many heteros calling spectacular better cause they miss the point theydo”nt have boners at the 90s to begin with . Something spectacular is lacking!
Spectacular was better with 40 less episodes? And cause u are to hetero? Spiderman is asaga people are not supposed to be heteros watching or they miss the point im gay because of the 90s show i understand .
I guess it's harder to understand in the intro, seeing as it's pretty distorted. It's also from the original theme, so maybe they threw 'em a bone on that one. Plus, actually draining blood is a pretty big deal. There was supposed to be a vampire villain on BTAS, but they scrapped it altogether when the network said they couldn't do it.
+john Thaerough, sure, they broke a few rules. They not only had guns, but fired them at the "camera," which is apparently a rule (according to the DVD commentary). However, the blood is never explicitly referenced, and was also incredibly rare (there was more in the movie, but that was a PG-rated movie in the '90s). BS&P does cut you a few brakes, which was part of my theory on this show's intro. I really don't know enough to do more than present theories, and I have never worked in TV, but I do pick up a bit from commentary tracks and interviews. Here's some evidence for that vampire episode: dcanimated.com/WF/batman/btas/backstage/interviews/burnett.php
Well, in defence of Sonic X's animations, anime are usually animated like that, even a Kirby episode made a whole episode poking fun at it, reusing footage like in Spiderman is also what the episode made fun of
The 90s animated series was the best, it was my favorite incarnation and closest to the comics. Spectacular was very good but I enjoyed the mature Peter and storyline. To me the characters felt more real and the Villians were sick. I especially loved the Xmen, Punisher, Daredevil, and all the other crossover characters.
PJRc 3160 I never noticed it before, but Steve Blum is always good at playing a mixture of threatening and funny villains. Take his Green Goblin, and take his portrayal of Starscream in Transformers Prime. Tell me they don’t both meet those criteria.
In a sense that he was supposed to be the grizzled general that you question whether or not he's the OG super soldier turn spy controlling things from the shadows. While Samuel L Jackson's version is similar to his character in Pulp Fiction if he was able to become a super spy.
@Relevant Relevancy Okay two things. One just because he's the original does not make him the best. Two white Nick Fury is a fundamentally different character from Ultimate Fury and the MCU Nick Fury so one can say one is better than another doesn't necessarily have to do with race. But on that note one of the defining traits about black Nick Fury is that his appearance and personality are modelled after Samuel L Jackson even before Jackson portrayed him in the film's which ties his race and personality together. White Nick isn't modelled after Jackson, Black Nick is and so all versions of Black Nick are fundamentally different to White Nick hence why saying one is better than the other isn't necessarily racial.
The thing about *BOTH* white Fury and black Fury is tht they where based , and I quote, "on the coolest cats of their time". The original Fury looks came from Dean Martin, while the modern cames from Samuel L. Jackson. Let's take into account that what passes as cool varies with time and people. But I think we can agree that many people do think that Samuel L. Jackson is a cool mf. Dean Martin, at least for today's standards, ain't exactly as cool as him. That said, to judge who's best and who's worst Fury, it all depends on when and who we are talking about. Much like everything else. By example, who is the cooler Superman? The original, gold age one, who, in *my* opinion, is goofy and boring, the silver age one, pre-crisis, new 52 or reborn (aka, pre-flash point migrated to New 52, with spouse and a child?). Maybe the DC AU one, who wasn't quite as boringly overpowered as the rest? If you ask me? Either the reborn one because the stories I've been able to read focus more on his human side (his son and how he tries to balance him being Supes with his responsabilities as a family man) or the DC AU, because, again, not as boringly overpowered as the rest of them. I'm pretty sure many superman fans (and I can't exactly put myself in that group, I do like some stories of superman but I'm not exactly what I'd call a true fan) will completely disagree with me, coupled with many reasons why I'm wrong (or, if I'm lucky, why they disagree) and why the versions I choose suck/are not even close to being as cool as their favored one. And that's fine, as long as they are respectful. It's an opinion, after all, And after all that, I'll go and give my opinion. I like better Samuel L. Fury than Dean Fury. I find him cooler, and I had more contact with the Ultimate version of Fury than the 616 one before Nick Fury Jr. came to exist in 616, so I'm also more used to him. Does it mean that he is better? At least for me he is. But does that mean that if someone thinks that the OG is better they are wrong. No, not at all.
Omg Spectacular is my favorite out of them all. I like that they brought in all these well known Spiderman Man characters and that it balances the action and plot while showing Peter in high school. Wish they picked it up.
Honestly, I just clicked on this video because I wanted to hear someone else gush about how good Spectacular Spider-Man is and how much better it is than practically every Spider-Man iteration.
I'm currently going through Spectacular Spiderman right now and its RIGHT up there with the 90's series. The writing, action and humor are all on point. The ONLY thing that holds it back for me (and I know I am going to catch some hell for saying this) but the style/'look' just doesn't do it for me. It looks....simplistic? Very Kim Possible-ish, especially with the eyes and face structures. I specifically mean the character designs, the animation itself is fluid and fantastic.
Spectacular and the 90's Show are some of the best adaptation of the character of Spider-Man and everyone around him, but this is just my opinion, I also want a Ultimate Spider-Man show that's serious and has the cell shaded art style like in the Ultimate Spider-Man comics
"Each action scene is both fast paced and memorable" *shows pictures of five different fight scenes that I only remember two of even though I watched the show only three months ago.*
Even remembering a fight scene after 3 months is pretty impressive. And it might be easy to tune out for some of them, but that's just a testament to how engrossing they are
It's was the 90s and spectacular spiderman was made in the 2000s and spectacular spiderman graphics look weird spectacular barley had any long story lines while 90s had lots of great story lines it can get really dark like when Mary Jane lost her parents and spectacular Mary Jane just looks hot 90s spiderman is the best like if you agree.
Greg Weisman autographed my bluray collection of Spectacular Spiderman I wouldn't mind a review of Electric Company Spidey. Hyped from the downhill commet.
90s Spidey was the Spider-man I grew up watching. I rewatched it in its entirety and - not gonna lie - I think every Uncle Ben scene was a tear jerker. Also, the last episode has a nice Stan Lee tribute that made me sob.
No Original Fury is white, the black one come from the Ultimate Univers and was adapted in the movie. And since marvel wanted to milk the MCU, even to the point of shitty on his continuty, they introduce Jr who is the son of OG Fury and exactly look like Ultimate. That was the star of the downfall of marvel who was trying to make their comics like the movie; much to anger of the reader.
I personally started to enjoy Marvel's Spider-Man, but I vaguely remember watching Spectacular Spider-Man when I was like 3. Re-watched it and now it's my favorite animated superhero series.
Only in the main universe and only as a stupid way to unnecessarily shoehorn in a black version of Nick Fury into Earth-616 in one of the dumbest ways possible
Personally I prefer the 1994 series as that was the first Spidey cartoon I ever saw and that it adapts classic stories like "The Wedding" and "Secret Wars" but Spectacular is excellent as well since I also liked Greg Wiseman's other popular show "Gargoyles". Check out the "Religious Studies 101: A Handful Of Thorns" live reading sometime if you like both shows.
Ultra Instinct Goku Black I liked that Spectacular did the Master Planner story from the comics. 90s never got around to it and Doc Oc never really seemed to get his due.
@ScionStorm Yeah Spectacular took several of Doc Ock's best stories from the comics. The Sinister Six, The Master Planner and The Gang War. All in a mere two seasons. Amazing accomplishment. Which is really more than TAS did with Ock in their full five seasons. After his debut he was really nothing more than Kingpin's stooge.
Robin 6525 Just because you grew up with it doesn't mean it's good. The show is alright, but Spectacular still beats the ass of this show. It hasn't aged well either.
Man that one episode where Peter becomes the Man Spider or whatever they call it, And the Point of view switches to The Punisher hunting him was fucking amazing. Then Kraven coming in to help him.
My ratings for the SM animated shows. 60s:Classical memes 70s:Forgetable 90s:Top Notch TNAS:Great but animation doesn't age well Spectacular:So Spectacular Ultimate:Kill me with fire 2017:Crap also Its the Not so Spectacular
Ultimate isn’t bad if you view it as just a comedy. Because that’s what it is. It’s not meant to be taken seriously at all. It’s still better than all the other marvel shows that were being made at that same time. (Avengers Assemble, GOTG, Hulk and the Agents If SMASH were all bad, Ultimate is still better than those

90’s animated series feels the most well plotted and definitive for me with Peter in college instead of constantly redoing high school. I guess I missed the Spectacular Spiderman when I was a teen only vaguely remember it and how everyone had baggy pants for some reason back then.
90a Spider-Man is definitely better plotted, but spectacular Spider-Man has good character moments as well, I just think the 90s one is a little better
Spider-Man TAS is my personal favorite of all time cause thats what introduced me to him and got me to the comics it was closest thing to the classic stories
Well, Nick... This video was SPECTACULAR! It was AMAZING seeing how you were able to condense a review of two series into one video. Truly SENSATIONAL work! Good luck with the next part! ... ... bUt wHaT aBoUt SpIdEr-MaN uNlImItEd?!1!?1
SPECTCUALR SPIDERMAN my childhood. Helped me through tough times and is a spectcular show. The one and only cartoon for spiderman that is the best. Never be dethroned
90's spiderman had always been my favourite mainly because that was the one I grew up on but your critique on it was actually very reasonable and made some very good points that I actually agree with. Also I had refrained from giving Spectacular a chance because the art style was really not my thing. It looked so kiddy-ish. But your case on it was also very reasonable despite some of the downsides you mentioned. i think I'll give it a chance now. Thanks bro!
You can't really judge the 90's cartoon without seeing the 2 part series finale. That was awesome. It was the Spider-Verse long before there even was a Spider-Verse
Something I noticed in Spectacular is that, as a rule of thumb, you can estimate a spidey villain's threat level by their reaction to spidey's sass. Less threatening (though still powerful) villains like Rhino get angry. More dangerous figures like Doc Ock or this version of Shocker just ignore it and keep going. The Big Man specifically not only ignores the sass, but sometimes even manages to make spidey shut up! (Albeit temporarily.) But Goby. Goby! The great Green Goblin himself. Sasses back!
If Samurai Jack, a fantastic show that was cancelled for 13 years, can be revived for 1 last season that not only comes out strong, but also ends on a high note; I like to think the same thing can happen for my favorite Spider-Man cartoon. Probably not gonna happen, but I certainly wouldn't be mad if I was wrong.
Question, so what I understand is that Sony has the rights to Spectacular, but Disney has the spidey tv rights, so there was a rumor a little while ago that Sony may look to sell to Disney(or something like that) in a couple years so if that’s true and suppose that actually happens, could this mean Spectacular can be revived?
@@bigboycheesepuffs9644 I wish, but considering Disney’s last two attempts at Spider-Man cartoons were not good they probably will ruin it. Ultimate Spider-Man(unfunny,boring and badly written) Marvel’s Spider-Man 2017(bland, boring, copied and pasted plot lines/elements with unnecessary changes)
The 60's Spiderman was the bomb when I was a kid! It was the series that introduced me to Spiderman and superheros in general. Spider-Man 1994 also ended on a huge cliff hanger! But it was awesome! I never got to see it as a kid but I binge-watched it in high school. The Spectacular Spider-Man was also amazing and the third and final series I watched, binging it a little bit after finishing Spider-Man. I thought it was just as awesome as most say it is. I wish there was an extended version of the intro song! It was so catchy and awesome but just to short!
A look at 2003’s “Spider-Man: the New Animated Series” would be nice. Besides the dated animation, a less than intimidating Kingpin, and the show ending on a cliffhanger due to lack of a second season, I think it’s still a pretty good series worth checking out.
I grew up with Spectacular Spiderman as a child. I'm so glad I was born young enough to enjoy it when It was still going but not too old where I would watch other things. Spectacular Spiderman has the best theme song and is what have me the love for spiderman and super heros in general. Spidey is my favorite.
I love the twists and turns in Spectacular's Green Goblin storyline! It made the whole scenario very engaging, fun, exciting, and really got you thinking. Spectacular is my ideal Spidey show in many ways, because I love how it gives excellent development to both Peter's personal and superhero life - Excellent evolution is given to both Peter's supporting cast and the criminal underworld. The streamlined animation allows for fantastic action too, I don't think I've ever seen Spidey's agility be so impressive due to the fast (and accurate to his power set) speed Spidey moves at. I recently watched some of the 90's series when visiting my mum's house, as she bought the DVD for me as a present. I was a bit surprised at how well it holds up, I think of it as a great Saturday Morning Cartoon, but all but one of the episodes I watched from season one (the first eight) hold up enough for an adult to watch them. The art direction is beautiful, and the supporting characters are established very well, being endearing and a wonderful element of the world (as they should since Peter's personal life is key to Spider-Man in the comics). The show can't go all-out with the action scenes due to censorship (no punching), but Spidey dodging Doc Ock's tentacles, and his creative fights with the Spider Slayers are stand-out scenes and superb. I'd say Spidey's first fight with Doc Ock in the show is Iikely the best animated one we've seen (only the one I've seen from Spectacular, in Doc Ock's underground lair rivals it, also being absolutely fantastic). I also love the strong sense of continuity. Regarding the censorship on guns, I think the lasers actually are fine, fitting right in due to the world created being scientifically advanced. Now, I recall season one being the best season quality wise actually, as even though the show got more fun and exciting when the mythology was built up later on, and the storylines got more serialised, I think the pacing was too fast sometimes as the show focused more on the ongoing stories. Editing also got rather choppy sometimes, due to more re-used footage being used (characters returning from season one, then two, then three etc. now meant more material to splice in new episodes). The one episode of season one I watched that doesn't hold up for an adult audience is "The Alien Costume: Part 2" - The pacing is a bit too fast here - Shocker leaves Spider-Man seemingly dead under a wall he crushes, walks away, and then Spider-Man gets up mere seconds after to follow him without Shocker even hearing or seeing him. Towards the end, various things are converging too fast - we cut to a very brief scene of Shocker kidnapping John Jameson, and then a very brief scene of Eddie following John. Eddie attacking Spider-Man for revenge a second time in the finale also doesn't make sense, as the Shocker had just threatened to kill Eddie moments before in this fight, and Spider-Man is the only one who could defeat him. He also clearly didn't stand a chance against Spidey this time, whereas before when he tried to attack him, he had a mace on a chain as a weapon, here he has nothing. On very rare occasions, something a character would do would be questionable. Anyway, the show is still very entertaining and fun to watch, and the stories are always wonderfully creative. This is an extremely entertaining video dude! I've watched it three times now over the course of a long time, I really enjoy your analysis. Great choices for your use of a closing scene from both shows by the way!...
Stop saying "Here's where I piss people off because I'm going to give a modicum of criticism to a show everyone considers perfect". YOU ARE A REVIEWER. I don't mean to get blunt, but SCREW FEELINGS. You're damn good at what you do and that's being a critic. That means not everybody gets the affirmation lollipop.
Just finished watching the entirety of Spectacular Spider-Man a couple of days again since I was a kid and I have to say, it definitely is the best Spider-Man cartoon ever imo.
Spiderman the animated series will always have a special place in my heart since I grow up watching it! But Spectacular Spiderman is my favorite Spiderman cartoon hands down great story action and A lot of character devolpment and I love it! Also I love the video man I just suddenly found your channel and Im glad I did I subscribed!!🙏🙏🙏
I swear, right when Peter replied to Hob Goblin asking if he's enjoying the flight, Sonic at the start of Sonic Adventure 2's helicopter scene came to mind and then the awesome reference was shown! 😄
i got the full series of spectacular spiderman for christmas this year, and although i still haven't finished it i can absolutely say i sang along with the theme song every time the next episode played, its just so catchy for me and really gets you in a good mood id say. (little fun fact no one cares about: this was the first spiderman show series i've watched cause i remember there being alot of different spiderman shows out when i watched tv as a kid but when i was younger i wasn't entirely into action shows like that and was too lazy to try to find the first episode to watch the full series lol, but spiderman always has and will be my favorite superhero)
The 90's animated series was a part of my childhood, I loved watching it. Though the dialogs weren't always that great though, just like the awkward edited scenes sometimes. But the voice acting was great and so was the art. Not sure if it still holds up today with those flaws I mentioned, but it is still worth a watch if you want to see a good Spider-Man animation imo. Also, I did not realize, ever, that Mark Hamil voiced the Hobgoblin and Frank Azaria did Eddie Brock. Funny to imagine Moe Syzlak from the Simpsons as Venom.
The creators also planned on doing some DTVs afterwards. Which would have focused on Peter's college years and contained darker stories. Including a potential adaptation of "The Night Gwen Stacy Died".
Disney is the worst thing to happen to spiderman cartoons. There, I said it .
Disney is the worst thing to happen to MMO games. There, I said it.
You're not wrong.
YES!!! Thank you!.
He has told the TRUTH!!!
You’re not wrong
Disney is the worst thing to ever happen to both Marvel and Star Wars
The Spectacular Spider-Man was too pure for this world 😭
Yes I definitely agree
Hell yeah my dude it was dark as shit but I loved it to bad it ended
The 90’s show is still better

It's very saddening that Spectacular was cancelled, especially at 26 episodes.
Wish there was a 3rd and 4th Season.
He’d have his close friends leaving him, like Harry,
The Season would really focus on the s2 finale and the knock on effects of the final few episodes
My favorite part of the show was the black suit part,i like how whenever Peter has the suit on the spider on the suit gets progressively bigger
There's a petition online that can help with bringing back the show www.change.org/p/marvel-spectacular-spider-man-season-3

It's the memes that show spawned. *The glorious memes.*

In all honesty the 60s show is actually really good, I’d say it’s the 3rd best Spider-Man show.

JaxBlade wait where does Kasady cameo in S2???
JaxBlade well I never liked Spectacular anywise so I am not complaining that it was cancelled

I'd say the final season of TAS is just the best and it has the perfect ending imo.
The show did have a great ending, but I honestly think season 3 is the best season.
It's pretty sad seeing all the effort Greg weismen and his team put into spectacular spiderman just to see it get cancelled after 2 seasons😢.
Spectacular is really great, but there's a few reasons why I prefer the 90's show:
1) I really enjoy Peter being in college and being an adult.
Spiderman is always a tennager nowadays becuase of the ultimate comics from the 2000's where he was portrayed as a teenager.
Woah! That's an old Comic
Shit, typo. Fixed now
Awe man, it was funnier before. Oh well, that's just how the cookie crumbles.
I also like Spiderman TAS better, cuz it's darker and more mature
Spider-man the 90s animated series was the most beautiful flawed diamond.
Faxxx
Flawed? I say it was almost perfection.
18:15 the show had more legal problems than that. Let’s just say they used tombstone instead of kingpin for a reason
Sony didn't have the rights to Kingpin. He was part of the Daredevil package which Fox had at the time.
I view the seasons of the 90s Spider-man as this:
S1- Solid.
I agree and disagree
I disagree with you
The second season was not rushed. But I do agree the 5th season did get sillier and have all these crossovers. The first half of season 4 is great imo while the rest are eh

8:50 So...they weren't allowed to use the word 'Blood' in the show, but it was AOK to have it in the freaking theme song!?
Why did that never occur to me until now?!
Guy Incognito but they still showed blood on btas

Man my favorite villain out of Spectacular Spider-Man was Green Goblin hands down, Steve Blum did an awesome job voicing him.
PJRc 3160 I never noticed it before, but Steve Blum is always good at playing a mixture of threatening and funny villains. Take his Green Goblin, and take his portrayal of Starscream in Transformers Prime. Tell me they don’t both meet those criteria.
I was shocked to notice Steve Blum played Gobs. His voice sure finds a spot in many.
And Norman Osborn being voiced by Alan Rachins, who did a good job making Osborn this charismatic.
9:55 White Nick Fury is the OG Nick Fury.
Which contradicts his comment about him being the worst when it's actually just him being how he's meant to be portrayed.
It's an opinion, after all,
And after all that, I'll go and give my opinion.
Who Else Played Spiderman Friend Or Foe When They Were Little?!
Omg Spectacular is my favorite out of them all. I like that they brought in all these well known Spiderman Man characters and that it balances the action and plot while showing Peter in high school. Wish they picked it up.

Spiderman and his amazing friends, 90s Spiderman TAS, and Spectacular Spiderman til this day are unbeatable.
I watched the 90s show as a kid and loved it so much I loved the story so much.
Fox kids spiderman was the best. It most accurately translated the personality and snarkyness of spiderman from the comic to tv.
PowerLeef why was it cancelled again? That cliffhanger at the end made me wanting more and was mad when I found out it was cancelled
Biggie Cheese I forget why, but the writter actually still wants to give it a proper conclusion.
ReeceHoward06 wasn’t Avi Arad responsible for the show being cancelled
Finally, someone with criticism about Spectacular
A look at 2003’s “Spider-Man: the New Animated Series” would be nice.
Besides the dated animation, a less than intimidating Kingpin, and the show ending on a cliffhanger due to lack of a second season, I think it’s still a pretty good series worth checking out.
I grew up with Spectacular Spiderman as a child. I'm so glad I was born young enough to enjoy it when It was still going but not too old where I would watch other things. Spectacular Spiderman has the best theme song and is what have me the love for spiderman and super heros in general. Spidey is my favorite.
Love 90's Spiderman and Ultimate Spiderman. ( In their own ways, they're all great )
not any of the modern spider man animated shows.
Season 2 of spider-man TAS is actually the one I remember the most and one of my favorites. I have so much nostalgia for that season.
So we talking about the thumbnail or na?
Hyperdrive TV na
Clorotch aight fair enough
I think he might like young justice because some of the same people behind spectacular spiderman.
i stopped watching after wally died
0:51 *gotta blast*
I think part of my head broke when I saw this part: 6:55
Man I watched a lot more of the 90's Spiderman than I thought
bin looking for a good review of the 90's series for so long.thanks NICKtendo
i got the full series of spectacular spiderman for christmas this year, and although i still haven't finished it i can absolutely say i sang along with the theme song every time the next episode played, its just so catchy for me and really gets you in a good mood id say.
Watching Spectacular Spider-Man makes me really sad that kids won't watch it on Saturday mornings, excited from the week before.
You didn't even watch each series to it's completion, Season 5 of the 90s show is some of the greatest animation put to television imo.
Especially the ending goddamn. Not to mention the sequel series
90s is my favorite mainly because of nostalgia glasses
The 2003 CGI show had some pretty bad animation, but the story was actually really good. It’s kind of unfortunate.
I’ve hat the theme song for Spectacular Spider-man playing on loop in my head for 12 years straight and I love it.
"Who need friends when you have a black suit" - Parker, Peter.
>White Nick Fury is worst Nick Fury
I have to direct you to the comics.
Hearing that Spectacular Spider-Man was going to be 65 episodes just breaks my heart. What could have been...
The creators also planned on doing some DTVs afterwards. Which would have focused on Peter's college years and contained darker stories. Including a potential adaptation of "The Night Gwen Stacy Died".
SCOTCH TAPE INCOMING FROM THE SAVIOUR....
Though Ultimate Spider Man was my introduction to animated Spideyverse, I still think that 1994's children were lucky to see that good Spider-Man
11:54 You take that back! J.K. Simmons is perfect!
