This is a nice way of reviewing a bike. Just a bike and a normal guy telling about it. No shitty music, no presenter who tries to act cool or funny, no special effects... just basic and pleasant to watch. Well done.
Nice looking bike just like the original. Duplex frame and decent alloy fork brace will help the handling too! I've seen a few vids about problems with this bike on you tube as well. I love the way they've made the mudguards, living in the UK.
I got to ride one of these, the Classic and the Hymalayan in Geelong (Nevermind Adventures) and loved it! Coming off my 1130 Benelli was so different as Mike explains it was the most fun I've had at the speed limit. Totally engaging!
@@gilbertsanchez2568 You can as I did from the dealer here, where in The Philippines do you live? I do my own servicing which is very easy on these bikes
Great review, i have seen so many reviews about the Continental Gt, thinking on buying this one or a Suzuki GS500E from 1983, but this way of talking you got is just great! Thank you!! From Portugal!!
Great video. I’m looking at one of these in the US. A couple of questions, can this cruise at 120 kmh on the highway? I’m not into speed but might ride on highway trips from time to time so I’m curious if this can handle that? Also, is it possible/easy to put on new handlebars? I don’t care for the v-shape handlebars and would prefer putting on more standard bars.
From my experience it won't cruise at 120 kmh. Regarding the bars, you would need to change the top yoke to fit standard bars. All in all if you don't mind the extra weight the 650 Interceptor might be a better option for you.
It's not really long stroke, at 87x90 it's almost square, the 350 is long stroke 70x90. It's no crotch rocket but for comparison it does have the same torque as a CB500R but over a much wider rev band. The speed you can go up a country lane is limited by the ample availability of solid scenery. I agree new Enfield riders always try to rev too high but the torque is down low.
Nice review, I am from India. I dont see many here in our country. Good to see a honest review. Please try to review the new continental gt 650 launching this year. it must be lot fun
My first video of yours. Lots of great information! It would’ve been nice to at least see you on the bike for size and placement and riding position perspective.
Hi I have just bought a GT and I have to say after riding it for the last week I love it it handles great looks awesome and the first thing I did was get the rocket launcher exhaust off it and put a £80 chrome tail pipe from AEW called the wild boar on ebay uk now it sounds AWESOME and I cant stress that enough it's amazing so thanks for a great review and I hope this will convince people Royal Enfield is back and to get there hands in there pocket and buy a continental GT.
Good review. Although, which did you think was the better bike out of the SWM 440 Grand Milano vs this bike? Especially for a learner on a bike? Which did you find has the lower seat height too?
i did own an 2014 535 cgt,few modification on the EFI and 2 looks more cafe racer, lovely bike in deed i love to ride it,the bads point over 200kg is a way to much for this can of bike 160kg can be a reaching goal for it,and 10 more horses, the brembo are ok not much more regarde less off 200kg,but yes lovely bike not a neoretro an retro bike
Can we fix ABS on this bike? I have 2016 model. I understand in 2017 model royal enfield has offered ABS in international market. Pls make a blog on ABS for this bike.
A small number of V-twin Bullets were made in Melbourne Australia a few years back. The bike was called the Carberry Enfield with the conversion being done by Paul Carberry and Ian Drysdale. Paul is currently attempting to revive the Carberry by building complete bikes in India.
The Gran Milano is the better sports bike with more power, and slightly better brakes. But I also like the GT Continental for its old world charm and very British '60s character. It really depends on what you are looking for in a bike.
Made in India=Great quality+ ruggedness to climb up Himalayas. Good for Indian roads where you barely go above 100 km/hr. Would've bought one in Canada for 9k but monthly insurance of 500$ is deal breaker hahaha
23 year old here in AUS , not gonna buy this bike Im just on youtube watching random video but I do ride and own a 1957 BMW which produces pretty much the same hp as this bike, p.s. i ride it almost everyday
History is repeating all over again, the Japanese bikes killed RE now RE returns and the Japanese have started producing or redesigning and releasing classics again, the problem with re has been improvisation and moving on to better technology and manufacturing process, their bikes rust and rattle overtime the bike just falls apart if that is addressed and better components are used and available if it reaches a higher reliability level even with a slightly higher price RE would kill it but then again i am not on the RE board.

What a great review. It is a pleasure listening to this gentleman. He really thought this out well and presented it in a good fashion. Kudos.
Its always great to see good old mike explaining about the bikes so honestly.

honest review , keep up good work, love from India!
Beautiful Bike. I ride GT 535 too. I love it
Must admit that i do want to add the 535 to my stable. Already have a Scram 411 and Super Meteor 650. Would go nice to the collection.

His name is Mike and it's very good one. Stop calling him Sir lol.
Oranje Renaissance calling someone 'sir' show respect it's nothing wrong to say someone sir
Yes, it's rare in India, that's why I have to spend so much on parts. Almost double honestly.

Thanks for the great review. How does the Continental GT compare to the Gran Milano in your opinion?
Great review thanks Mike ....what's your preference the GT or the SWM 440
Clear, comprehensive and informed; thanks!

Does it have a balancer? A harmonic balancer?

Sir! You r amazing!! wonderful review!!!
Thanks, glad you liked it.
Do you think it's a good first bike?
If you are comfortable with the more sporting riding position, the Continental GT would make a good first bike in my opinion.
They need to come out with a twin cylinder bike.
A small number of V-twin Bullets were made in Melbourne Australia a few years back. The bike was called the Carberry Enfield with the conversion being done by Paul Carberry and Ian Drysdale. Paul is currently attempting to revive the Carberry by building complete bikes in India.
they just did and it's 650cc parallel twin
Hi Mr Mike! I wonder if there is a new review coming up on the new 650 engine! Cheers.
Working on borrowing one when they are released here.
@@MikesMachinesthanks for the reply. I am looking forward for that, once you tested all the models currently in production.
Well done and very informative video.
Nice review.
I test rode this bike, I couldn’t see the mirrors going 60 km/h. the amount of vibration is unreal.
Abs version will be launched in three months
What about the vibration?
So which bikes better this or the swm gran Milano you reviewed
The Gran Milano is the better sports bike with more power, and slightly better brakes. But I also like the GT Continental for its old world charm and very British '60s character. It really depends on what you are looking for in a bike.

Why there is no word on how it stands up against SWM 440 Gran Milano?
Konstantin Mi Personally i think the SWM milano is the better bike. This looks just abit to old fashioned for my liking
Thank you for the answer, but how about the technical aspect?
Why?
For "onslaught" read "huge demand."
FIRE IT UP.
Does it has a abs
Kanakia Shivang...No it dosent In India
Tho some other markets such as US has ABS
No ABS in Australia so far either.
R d rear tires bigger than D front
Yes, rear tyre is 140 section pirelli
Is it single sit?
Kunal Mehra Yeah, but there’s a two-seat option available too.
I want one
Aaahhhh youve answered already I've seen
#I M FROM INDIA .... JUST RIDE THIS BIKE ONLY THEN U WILL FEEL ROYAL ENFIELD IS NOT A TEMPORARY BIKE....
Interesting review Mike
Honestly can't see any youngsters wanting one though.
You could be right but I do know that a few Enfields in general are being bought by younger riders out here.
Fair enough.. I suppose the insurance is a bit lower than a very powerful bike.
23 year old here in AUS , not gonna buy this bike Im just on youtube watching random video but I do ride and own a 1957 BMW which produces pretty much the same hp as this bike, p.s. i ride it almost everyday

Let's hope the new 650 twin is worth waiting for. I know I can't wait to ride the 650 Continental GT!
The RE is the vw beetle of the motorcycle world, it does not need too much mordernization or it will lose its charm
A video motorcycle review in which the actual motorcycle didnt move an inch!!!
Looks like a kfc delivery bike.
How do find it for your delivery’s?
throw it back in the river, thats a fkn boat anchor mate,,,tsk.
9,500 for this? Lord that's being looted for this scrap.
