The fatigue is so rough. No amount of sleep and naps helped on top of feeling lazy and not yourself. I almost felt depressed because you didn't feel like yourself

The first trimester for me was so rough. The fatigue is no joke, you sleep and sleep and it’s still not enough. The constant nausea and smells that make you gag, I also had trouble feeding my pup his food too. My prenatal also used to make me gag but now it’s not so bad. I’m almost in the 3rd trimester and I do promise you, the symptoms will get better. 💕

Genetic counselor here. Great to hear you talk about NIPT. Super important for folks to know you can get potentially serious medical info not just find out the gender. But that’s a super fun side benefit :) 25:50

After 3 years of secondary infertility I finally got a positive!! I’ve had some cramping but heard it’s normal. Did you feel any cramping? If so, was there anything that helped?
By the way, I went back to be seen at your old clinic but was told you left the practice (a little sad) but met another well recommended doctor there. She seems great too. I will ALWAYS be sooo grateful with how much compassion you treated me with after my MC. It truly impacted me in a good way, no doctor had ever spoke to me like a human before you. Thank you so much and congratulations on your pregnancy❤

Muchas gracias, acabo de encontrar tu canal. I am 40 and first time pregnant, hearing all your symptoms as a OBG was so validating, I feel so tired, so different but so happy and weird, with cramps in my lower abdomen and breast tenderness. I am just so happy I found you. I will keep watching and get ready with all of my question and concerns to ask at my next appointment. You are a blessing. Thank you SO MUCH and Also congratulations for your new baby girl. Send you so much love.

I really just kept to myself, had to, some people were just offended & couldn't understand.... third tri now, the fatigue is back baby.... 🥴! The moderate anemia doesn't help. Lol.

Your so lucky that your obgyn appointment went well, where given information about classes, pamphlets, samples of prenatals and got to ask lots of questions. My experience was not good. I could not ask questions as they were rushed, they didn't give me any information just told me to go on their website, got to hear the heartbeat for about 5 seconds, didn't tell me my due date, didn't confirm how far along I was. They couldn't get me and my husband outta there fast enough.

I cannot express how happy I was to see your announcement video and this one! I have a 13 month old GIRL and had the WORST fatigue in the first trimester - so I get it LOL. I had bad nausea, but only vomitted twice through my whole pregnancy... that said, is it a girl?? I know you're still pondering how to announce that to your platform - but that's just my guess :) Congratulations and good luck regardless

Hello Ali! I just subscribed to your channel and I LOVE IT!! I am a little over 5 weeks pregnant, and today was the first day I thought I was actually going to throw up and I was out in public. Not fun! I have a question about a different symptom, and when I google this symptom the answers I find are "this happens sometimes in the second trimester, and it is usually mild." This symptom is: painful cramping that last 10-20 minutes after orgasm. It has happened a few times and last time was really bad I honestly thought I was miscarrying which sounds silly but in the moment it was terrifying. I looked on reddit to see if other women have this experience and it seemed common, so I was confused as to why I've never heard of this before until I was curled up on the bathroom floor trying to breathe through these cramps lmao. I would really love if you could make a short about this or something!

For my first trimester is going pretty rough. I’d say I had my last period August 20 but I’ve done an ultrasound October 3. They weren’t able to see anything just an empty stack also last Wednesday as well just an empty sack but I’ve noticed I’ve been spotting brown discharge for one week, not so much, but every time I wipe, I notice it what do you feel like that is leaning towards they want to do another ultrasound Thursday, but I’m very nervous, but I want very good news.

Every pregnancy, after the first, I knew I was pregnant even before testing. The cinnamon scented pine cones at Walmart would immediately make me have to run and throw up. For some reason i never lost the “super sonic sniffer”. It’s really not a good sense to have being a former funeral director, who switched to working in a state mental health facility. I still can’t stand the smell of the cinnamon pine cones. I’m thinking it’s because they were a huge trigger for such bad nausea and vomiting. But nothing would stay down during my first and third pregnancy. I did end up with HG during my first and third pregnancies. The second one, was very chill with little to zero symptoms at all. I stayed in denial, even with prenatal care. Until one night I went to bed, and woke up unable to see my feet the next morning. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️😂

So in medical school you take step 1, complex USA 2, step 2 complex step 2. Then out of of med school you take step 3 and then your boards in obgyn written and oral. Is that correct. Also how any changes you get to retake the board. What happen if you fail a board exam? For nursing in Florida I get 3 changes to retake nclex before taking remedies course. I passed nckex first try so now I’m a nurse

Can you pretty please tell me where you got your palazzo pants??? I am desperate to find that exact item.
But yeah. First trimester is no joke. I have fibromyalgia, hypermobility, and sleep apnea, so the fatigue was horrific.
I noticed that you use the words cr@zy and ins@ne a lot in this video. Yes, I know they're used all the time and current social norms have decided that makes them acceptable, but those words have a harmful medical history and continue to stigmatize mental illness and disability. It can be quite triggering to hear them over and over. Especially since you treat patients who may have medical trauma and difficulty self advocating, it would be helpful if you used phrasing like, "the nausea was so intense!" or "my fatigue hit me even harder than I expected," or "experiencing the things that I counsel people about every day for the first time myself has been surreal." Thanks!
