I started waking up at 4AM for working out last December. After Covid, let me tell you, it is one of the best changes to my life I've ever made. The days seem more productive, you have more time for everything, and it's much easier than waking up at 6AM tbh. Idk maybe it's a personal thing, but I've had to wake up at 6AM all my life but I never could get used to it...but 4 AM...I breeze through regardless of the temperature outside or whatever.
That’s great. I’m a night owl, but I’m productive in the morning. What he mentioned about freedom really spoke to my why. I’m going to get up early, not as early as 4 am.
I'm wondeirng what time you sleep to be consistently up for 4am. (My 12 hr workday starts at 6 across town so leave at 5 to commute, and have to sleep earlier if I'm to be up at 330 to squeeze a workout in ahead of work).
I'm actually just getting up now to do next Thursday. So just think, when you loooooserrrrrrs are on Thursday, I'll be getting up at 10am and actually be doing next Sunday. I think.
I agree with the idea of not using social media, or using you’re phone before going to asleep. as you wake up either late or very early. I can comment from experience.
Working in surgery forced me to adapt to early mornings. By the time the day ends I’m too tired to do anything so waking up early , getting a workout in and even cooking before I make it to my 7am shift sucks but rewarding at the end of the day. Get home , eat , shower and head to bed
The army needs and love those guys. Then they become veterans and everybody asked why they became fucked up ...the war ? No not the war just to get up at 4:30 ! Ah ok !
I agree (that was me in covid during uni) but I think for some people it'd get you into that mentality of oh I've already achieved a workout this early in the morning, so I may as well keep accomplishing things like applying for jobs or fixing that cupboard. I've definitely been feeling more on it with doing the morning school runs rather than sleeping in till 1pm. Hasn't made me agressively productive but I can see the difference, I don't think I have the descipline to get up at 4:30 tho.
@@RK-ep8qy as for me I can get up at nearly any time if I have the right reason. But it’s extremely hard to get up early if I don’t have something very specific and important to do that can’t be done later
I had to wake up at 2:30 every weekday to work at Home Depot by 4. I did get home in time to take my stepdaughter to school in the morning. Oddly, it sucked but wasn't really that bad once I got into the rhythm. I was glad to be done with that though. I LOVED taking my stepdaughter to school each day. I felt it was a connection. Then I sometimes went back home and slept lol, much to the dismay of my wife. It tosses your schedule way off, especially during weekends when you were expected to do things with your family. I loved having a job, though!!!
I feel like waking up earlier can help a lot of people. But in the end, as long as you're productive and get the right amount of sleep, it doesn't matter when you wake up.
5am 7 days a week my wife just started working again after maternity leave and she's almost back to the same schedule as me. It feels good everyday to get up and be able to take your time getting ready for the day get all your ducks in line and leave the house knowing your ready to take the day on
@@XhizorBE That's entirely arbitrary in and of itself, you should wake up at a time that's in accordance to your life style obviously. “Wake up at the same time every day” Shift workers would like a word. One day it’s 3pm to 11pm, a day off, then 5 am to 12pm. How are you supposed to keep a consistent sleep schedule when your shifts are all over the place?
Get a different job that doesn't have shift work. You don't owe your employer anything when it comes to making sure you're healthy enough to live. This includes sleep. They don't care, they just want a body there at the time required, doing the job. They don't care if you're a zombie or not.
Can you and other employees ask for normal shifts? Or at least make it 1 month 1 shift, 1 month second, one month third shift(if you have one).... I know people who does it daily shift changes and also those who have monthly ones. By far the monthly ones have a better way of living as they need 2 weeks for their body to re-schedule and 2 weeks then thry are on synch, then thry have to re-schedulr their body again. Its hard either way 😂

If it’s about discipline, you can do useful things at night as well - if that fits better to your biological clock. Or the other way around: if you’re not disciplined, you could wake up at 4:30 and still watch useless things on social media. I don’t get the causality between discipline and early rising. You just shift your day a bit forward.
True, it sounds disciplined to go up early when everyone else is sleeping, but you forget dude goes to bed when everyone else is awake. I guess the argument is that you don't get much done in the evening which is not neccecarily true (speaking from personal experience) and that your biological clock likes it better to follow more normal sun rise, sun set hours.
A lot of people can read useless things AND get important things done. For example, I just read your useless, condescending comment then checked-in some code at work.

I don't know what these dudes are talking about that they can't sleep past a certain time. I'm 10yrs in and I'm up by no later than 0445 to be in at 0600 and any given day I can easily sleep 9hrs+ on any day off given the opportunity if the wife occupies the kid. My off days there's noway I'm getting up at 0445 unless I got a 0600 tee time.

When the construction company I work for had a permit to work downtown we had to start work at 5:00am everyday until all the windows were installed. I agree! Those couple weeks I felt better than I ever have even when I was super hungover one of those days and only got 3 hrs of sleep then worked 9hrs had a break then went to my other job for 6hrs. It all come down to discipline really.
My one issue with having a schedule where you are in bed by 9:30pm is that it completely messes me up on the weekends as I don't head out until after 9pm many times so I would be completely non functional by midnight.
He's right about waking up the same time everyday. The best thing I did for my sleep was to actually sleep less on weekends. I was sleeping too late and too long on weekends and it was creating a problem going to sleep at my normal time Sunday night and was something I never fully recovered from the entire week.

I started waking up at 3-4 am each morning to hang out with friends online who are over in America but I quickly realised how much I could do each morning because there were no distractions and I just stuck to it. If you can, I'd say do it.
My only critique: it's not" just winding down". Winding down and relaxing is a good way to balance work and life. Winding down and relaxing are very important. You can work all the time. I've tried it- it sucks. Finding time to relax greatly improved my wellness and peace of mind.
I think he's refering to useless social media activities, like doomscrolling your facebook feed or hanging on instagram, looking at useless stuff etc. of course on has to relax and "wind down" but maybe with activites that aren't that useless, wther that's reading a book, doing sports or even watching a good, meaningful movie.
@@Bomberman4991 I still disagree. Everyone is different, everyone will have their own kind of winding down. What someone finds useless as winding down, will be some one else's escape. Someone can wind down as best as they see fit to use their own time. Regardless of what someone else would consider productive or not. It's ok to be not productive when relaxing.
@@Bomberman4991 If "winding down" is causing you to not get enough sleep or have an erratic sleep schedule you then you may want to make some changes. He seems to be speaking off the cuff on camera, while being interviewed, that's not easy to do.
@@untitled061 I disagree with your disagreement. The fact that everyone is different does not change the fact that different kinds of "winding down" is objectively superior to one another. Infinite facebook scrolling is the kind of winding down you do to kill time and kill time only. On the other hand, stuff like watching movies with your family would be significantly better form of "winding down". Yes, people are different, but I have not met one person in my life that enjoys random infinite facebook scrolling over a good high quality movie of their favorite genre. Take League of Legends as another example, easily one of the worst methods for relaxing. It may leave you more tired even then when you started.

Found the motivation. Up at 4:30 boys.
I’m going to get up early, not as early as 4 am.
couple days waking up at 2 am instead of 6 am and I love it nothing beats a cold shower than the gym at like 3 am after eating some eggs and chicken
I'm wondeirng what time you sleep to be consistently up for 4am. (My 12 hr workday starts at 6 across town so leave at 5 to commute, and have to sleep earlier if I'm to be up at 330 to squeeze a workout in ahead of work).

I agree (that was me in covid during uni) but I think for some people it'd get you into that mentality of oh I've already achieved a workout this early in the morning, so I may as well keep accomplishing things like applying for jobs or fixing that cupboard.

Shift workers would like a word.
That sucks ngl, but it's him giving advice, you don't have to follow it because of the restrictions that your job imposes on you.
Its hard either way 😂
Don't work a shitty shift work job. Discipline up, go back to school and make yourself worth more than "shift work".

Because you have to be disciplined to wake up that early
A lot of people can read useless things AND get important things done. For example, I just read your useless, condescending comment then checked-in some code at work.

@@Bomberman4991 Doing sports is winding down? Sure, maybe darts...
@@Bomberman4991 If "winding down" is causing you to not get enough sleep or have an erratic sleep schedule you then you may want to make some changes. I really don't think the guy is trying to say "never relax, work, sleep, eat, and work out that's it" lol.

Maybe, but all waking up at 4:30a.m. would do for me is give me a jump start on my depression.
Sean The Baptist same due but it gets better
How do you know? Have you tried it?
Sean The Baptist facts
LMFAO oh man, I can relate, but this was funny as hell
"And away to his castle we'll go
To be happy forever I know
Someday my dreams will come true"... in sleeping death, her dreams did come true.
Its almost like doing the simplist things equal success.
I worked midnights as a cop for over 18 years. I would take my kids to school when I got home. Stay up an hour with my wife, then go to sleep for six hours. Get up, get my kids from school and make dinner.
Routine is key no matter your schedule.
The life for over 18 years..🤯 Amazing!
im impressed you managed to stay on that routine, bravo
U a USA cop?
Just don't ever kill an innocent person mate...just coz he /she looks dangerous.
And ask the authorities to change the design of ur tasers...don't want anymore "mistakes"
thank you for your service as well as being a family man
@@yout1556 you realise that every cop isn't the same, right? The ones you see on the news and that are the bad ones. Not everyone is a bad cop. Some are genuinely good people trying to make the world better, and others are just people trying to get a job, who won't do anything bad.
If I awake a 430 AM its to go test the strength of the toilet.

😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂
I actually laughed my ass off at that 🤣🤣
loool, this comment made my day 😂
throw a "...according to a navy seal" at the end of something and watch everyone eat it up
How to be a navy seal (according to a navy seal)
How to plow your neighbor's wife, according to a Navy Seal
well, it does give him some credibility on the topic rather than Jimmy PewDiePie talking about it.
ZedsDeadBabe how to destroy the world but it's already destroyed according to a navy seal from the sea
Exactly. Anything according to a Navy seal is credible in my book.
I work 5am-2:30pm five days a week, so I’m up at 3:30am those days. I’ve actually started getting up every single day at 3:30am and I love the routine. Taking advantage of the whole day really does change your mindset and outlook on life.
@@michaelsilverfoote6272Wondering if you got the 330am job. Also wondering if you've ever ruled out mthfr gene variants from a dna test or asked a ND about how to ditch the depression and anxiety. Might be surprisingly simply fix. Hope you're going strong and find what works for you.
Dude looks like hes trying to kill the Avengers
Brian b His schedule is perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
lmfao
HA
I commented that on his instagram and he didnt answer😂😂
He has to get up early for that.
He's misses his kids bed time as he's already asleep.
His kids probably go to bed at 10pm or earlier because they're kids.
@@Jam-iv6xz to get even 7 hours of sleep waking up at 4:30 you'd have to be asleep *not in bed* but asleep by 9:30. Mind you even 7 hours of sleep is not optimal for anyone under 35. I love it when people think they can just get more time in their day by sleeping less. Either you sleep 7-8 hours per day or your brain's going to be foggy and you're not going to be nearly as efficient in the time that you are awake.
@@thebeast647 my gramps always wake up at 4am and he fall asleep at 7pm, he worked from 7 to 3. It was more simple lives back then.
@@thebeast647 that and his comment about "just winding down doing nothing productive" is a red flag for me. People need to be able to relax, the mindset that everything you do needs to be maximally productive is self-destructive and rooted in a time where people did lobodomies to fix their mental health issues
@@chiko4536 he’s saying what are you doing at night, watching dumb TH-cam videos and reading clickbait articles? Instead go to sleep early, wake up early. Unless sleep isn’t relaxing to you? And you could do something that is still relaxing that isn’t actively mind numbing as scrolling through social media, like reading a book or something. Or maybe some people like other creative things that can be considered relaxing, like painting, or even just enjoying nature.
I work out everyday at 5am. Ive always loved exercise, im now 60years old, i run, walk, cycle, go rucking, and lift weights only light, but for me its a drug makes me feel good. I cover between 60 and 100 miles a week
you do how many miles? jeez man, how do you no have mega arthritis in all your lower joints? i'm 20 years younger and already hitting the big A. unreal
That's awesome man. Keep it up!
