Can totally relate. Waking up early (I wake up 4:50am) has hugely changed my health and fitness as well. I am in my 30's and have a family of 5 (me, wife, and 3 daughters), and there is nothing better than waking up before all of them are awake, get my 1hr and 30 min workout done, and by the time I get back home my girls are barely waking up and I can get on with the most important stuff which is to take care of them all. Great video and thanks for keeping it real.

You're such a down to earth, stand up guy. I really love your channel and appreciate you and Brandon always giving it to us straight. Keep it up and Stay Buff!!!
What's crazy is this man's injury recovery is still being more active than a lot of people who complain about their weight. You're healthy, no excuse! Get after it.
Have had to give up the lifestyle for about 5 weeks myself, getting ready to get back into it in about a week. This “road to recovery” series could not have come at a better time. Thank you, BUFF Dudes, for all you do
I wake up to piss and grab something from the fridge, I stuff a giant bite and chew it on my way back to bed... my goal is to have it swallowed before I pull the covers back over me
Buff Dudes, you have always been my favorite channel on TH-cam, for several reasons. Fitness, short videos, the way you guys blend it up, the humor, the wide range of topics, it's all so well made. The quality is always excellent. I have been extremely depressed for quite some time, but I still try to workout as much as I can. Your channel has helped immensely with that. If you could do a video on depression or mental health in the future, I'd be very grateful.
"There is no blueprint or handbook, you can kinda guess the best you can, but you`re writing your own story and sometimes you get writers block" Best sentence I`ve heard in a really long fucking time. That`s just so true.
@PogChamp Falling asleep early or late is based on habit. During my high school years I'd be asleep by 9 but in the summer it turned to 12. I went back to sschool and it adjusted to 10ish
@PogChamp Hey man, thanks for your input. I can just tell you my 2 cents. I'm working in a different city and travel with a train from monday to friday. I've to wake up at 4:30am to be at my work on 7:00am. I did this now for 3 years, and I'm so glad when I'll be able to move near the city. It's just a trainee-program so I dont earn enough to move out.. so decided to just bear through it and my experience is just early sleeping, packing all the stuff you need at the evening before and plan out the hours you have to almost every minute. I see Hudson's point for sure.. but it's a difference waking up early to go achieve something bigger for yourself or just because you have to kinda lmao
@PogChampI have one of those nights from time to time. I did however realized that getting on my phone would just cause too much distractions resulting in me staying up longer. You don't have to wake up early just because it works for Person A or B. If you find yourself more productive late at night, why change it? If you want to see if waking up early is better for you but cant sleep early, try this. Work out at night or go out for a run it should make you feel tired and making the body want some rest, sleep.
I love morning workouts. Especially during the summer. It frees up my evening so I can relax, hang out with friends, or stay engaged on a project for 6+ hours. Also, there is nothing quite like the motivation from the panic knowing you only have a few minutes left to leave the gym, shower, and make it into the office before your morning standup. Haha!
Just so you know, the story that you and Brandon are writing now is a freaking awesome one. I can say that I've been watching your channel for quite some time and I appreciate this video. Helps me appreciate even more of what you've gone through and how much passion and work you put it in. Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Buff dudes put so much effort into making these kind of videos. Not just production quality but also the thought gone by to making these. But what you get after that? TH-cam Algorithm hates this channel.
Just saw this older video and gotta say: this hit home. Really made these guys real and down to earth. Puts the posing and arm curls after a set into perspective. It’s not a boast or a signature, it’s a reminder to themselves why they do what they do. They found a way to balance life with a family and still maintain their physiques, something that a lot of us want but think we can’t have and they blow us away saying, yeah you can! Get up and get it! Thanks guys. True honesty is hard to come by but you guys have it in spades.

Like I said before, the only fitness channel that addresses something crucial in health and fitness: motivation and mental health. I applaud you for being so sincere. I can say the same thing with the lack of motivation, “why am I getting up today?” Was a big problem for me last semester. I was in a bad place, but now you’re helping me get on track again. Thank you guys keep it up.

You guys are so inspiring to me. I spent most of my 20's just trying to chase things I shouldn't have been chasing. Watching your channel has helped guide me towards some of things I realize I really want to do. The craziest part about this is it doesn't not revolve around fitness or nutrition. I really love your raw content talking about your struggle the things you've had to overcome. Never stop producing videos that continue to inspire people. I know your fanbase truly enjoys them.
@Facts Only I'm not sure how you're disagreeing... or are you saying you think the guy sleeps less than 8 hours? No. You still need the 8 hours +/-. Go to bed early, so you wake up early. You will get a lot done before sunrise, from there continue your normal day. People say "WHATS THE POINT OF GETTING UP EARLY IT YOU GO TI BED EARLY" Well it actually benefits a lot of people who do it. Don't lose heart.
This is really inspiring. Having endured depression for 6 years, setting the GOAL to work out every day (including a healthy diet and regeneration) changed my life. Whether it's a physical injury or a mental health issue holding you back, if you find a way out of it by pursuing your goal, you'll become much stronger afterwards. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!
I've been watching your videos for a number of years now, and I normally can't stand watching buff guys making TH-cam videos because of how pompous they come off. You guys are clearly very advanced, but deliver information with humor, humbleness and relatability so that people don't feel discouraged no matter what stage they are at on their fitness journey. Thank you guys for your videos and for being so approachable, I'm always eager for your next post!
Waking up at 5am saved my life! I now wake up with purpose and drive, go straight to the gym and knock out my workout, whether it's tough or light, but it's every day for the consistency.
Brilliant, thanks for taking the time guys. Really appreciate it. Enjoy all of your videos. Since I'm still a skinny dude working my way up with limited equipment, I sometimes have trouble finding the motivation, especially after a "bad" workout but watching your content gets me focused again. Thank you.
Much respect for you Houdson. Is not easy to overcome an injury, some people actually never make IT. Your videos and insigths are high quality motivation for going to the gym and crush the weigths.
Man.. This video speaks to the heart.... Thank you.... I feel the same at times...... So glad that "Buff Dudes" exists... Its reshaping my life.... Thank you again.
Nice to hear the backstory to all the videos... I've watched you guys for a while and had no idea how much goes into the channel while you guys maintain your personal and professional lives.
Start a family. You will have all the drive and motivation you’ll ever want, and never be bored again. Having someone to care about and care for gives you true purpose.
good for him, guys remember, never fully compare yourself with others, always compare yourself how you were yesterday and improve consistently, be the best version of yourself everyday with a consistent improvement. In just a few months you will notice incredible progress rather than comparing yourself with someone who is much bigger than you. You are your worst enemy/opponent, overcome that and defeat it!
Overlord I have trouble with insomnia so sometimes i end up laying in bed for hours. If I did this I would end up going almost no sleep a lot of nights.
@@panama1942 Idk what that is honestly, but I personally admit I have this habit of laying on bed for hours even after I am awake. Never knew it was a condition.
Thank you for your video. My life is very strange right now and I'm having trouble staying motivated with my workouts. The difference between you and me is our ages, I'm 61 and even though I have been very fit with weights, running, and some martial arts heavy bag work, I'm having trouble staying with it. Good to hear someone else talk about their own issues and you have nailed it for me. Thanks

Funny How we were made fun of as kids because we used to fast during Ramadan and some up early for prayer or eat small meals and hydrate. Today, these are fitness musts.
Thx super inspiring and humble as always. Im 45 and started get getting up at 520am about 6 weeks ago to do 20 min cardio. Lifting 4 days a week at night. The morning thing makes huge difference. Even more motivated for lifting at night because, without cardio its shorter. I am raising 2 kids myself in the morning i was so tired and getting burt out but getting up earlier .... I sleep better get up easier and feel more positive.
Started doing 4:45am workouts a little over a month ago and I couldn't agree more! It's the best feeling ever getting out of work at 5pm and knowing my workout is already taken care of and the rest of my evening I can focus on piano!
I started waking up early and going to bed at 22h, but my neighbors have other plans. Some new couple above me move wooden furniture all day ,they make me crazy.
Way to go! When you said the next video is about how you guys accomplished what you did with this channel, this injury must have made you guys reflect: reflect on how you got where you are, and realize that you want to share this journey. I hope you guys continue getting the recognition you deserve, and end up on the likes of JRE.

Out of all the content that you guys upload, these motivational type videos are the ones that inspire me the most to keep up the grind. Thanks for all of that dudes
PogChamp yeah I completely understand what you mean, I’ve been there too. I found that working out in the evening and then eating a big meal for dinner followed by a dose of slowly digested protein such as casein before bed helped me fall asleep faster. I always get sleepy after food. Netflix and using your phone will keep your mind awake even if you are tired. Try listening to a podcast on low volume as you try to fall asleep, that helped me too. Why not try Jocko’s podcast 😃
PogChamp yeah that’s probably wise, you don’t wanna depend on supplements to get by. Haha yeah he is an interesting dude, so he might keep you awake with his stories! But I tend to fall asleep pretty quickly when I listen to podcasts, to each his own I suppose. Reading books is also a good idea, that will put your lights out faster than sedatives!
Nick B his biggest trademark is ”getting up before the enemy” which is to say, he gets up at 4:30 or earlier every day of every week and posts a photo of his wristwatch. Yeah I agree, in the mornings I don’t lift, I usually go for a run or other kind of cardio. Just get it done at some point during the day 😎

Thank you.
I appreciate the efforts you guys do daily so we have enjoyable content keep it up.
I was looking up videos on waking up at 4 and man, I gotta admit- I really trust your content and I’m glad your channel was on the search.
What time you wake up doesn’t matter at all, what you do with the time you are awake is everything
Zander Cerlong that sounds good, but light exposure, circadian rythyms, etc. actually do have an impact on how the mind and brain operate
Findaway Towin, how does light expose effect us? Curious?
@@findawaytowin2968 idk I always hit the gym at 12am. Been like that for about 3 years now. I'm more motivated at night.
@@IHadToMakeThisAccount it sets your biological clock. Sunlight tells your body when it should be active and when it should sleep.
Much respect for you Houdson. Is not easy to overcome an injury, some people actually never make IT. Your videos and insigths are high quality motivation for going to the gym and crush the weigths.
Suffering sucks, especially when it’s done without a purpose.
I'm really moved by your determination, i wish you a full recovery
Man this Is a Crazy amount of ispiration! I really liked how you talked about this topic with your Heart open! Keep up the good work
Man.. This video speaks to the heart.... Thank you.... I feel the same at times...... So glad that "Buff Dudes" exists... Its reshaping my life.... Thank you again.
one time waking up at 4 am saved my life because my fucking house was on fire man!
thanks for the laugh
Only time I woke up that early was back when I worked for UPS and at Basic Training. Never again.
Yup! Even in the military, I never got used to waking up early.
When u do it for yourself it’s totally different waking up at 430 for someone else is a crock of shit
Francisco Xavier word
Thank you for your video. My life is very strange right now and I'm having trouble staying motivated with my workouts. The difference between you and me is our ages, I'm 61 and even though I have been very fit with weights, running, and some martial arts heavy bag work, I'm having trouble staying with it. Good to hear someone else talk about their own issues and you have nailed it for me. Thanks
Jocko owns it at 430 er day!
If it’s good enough for a 50 year old former SEAL commander, I don’t have any excuses either.
It's because of the steroids that level of energy. And obviously, he's used to wake up in that hour when he was a soldier so his circadiam rythm it's "balanced" to work in that way.
When you increase the testosterone levels by 2-3x like steroids, your dopamine levels goes to the roof and even you need less sleep to have the same recovery because your catecolamin system work like a war
You're so relatable man. Thanks for your sincerity in this kind of videos. I agree that having goals is key to get out of bed every day. I wish you good luck in your way to full recovery. Stay aroud, stay motivated, STAY BUFFED!
"I am weak, I am small" *flexes body most people would be proud of*
Started doing 4:45am workouts a little over a month ago and I couldn't agree more!
Good quality ear plugs can help a lot
Way to go! When you said the next video is about how you guys accomplished what you did with this channel, this injury must have made you guys reflect: reflect on how you got where you are, and realize that you want to share this journey. I hope you guys continue getting the recognition you deserve, and end up on the likes of JRE.
“Light weight” 120kg deadlift
100kg bench too
May your recovery be short & succesful , big respect
Thank you for keeping it real 💪🏼😁
I'm recovering from major ankle surgery at the moment still NWB...watching these vids helps...I keep a kettlebell and a resistance band by my side so I have something to monkey with...very much looking forward to being able to move again...Thanks
0:28-Im usually pretty stiff when waking up too
Needed to hear this, have to get back in my gym routine in the mornings. I make to many excuses for myself not to go in the evening after work. Just get up and get it done and then after work the day is done. Stay Buff dude, thanks again.
I found Thor’s TH-cam channel. Is this how he got in shape after avengers end game.
Out of all the content that you guys upload, these motivational type videos are the ones that inspire me the most to keep up the grind. Thanks for all of that dudes
I also wake up every morning at 4:30 AM, it’s the Jocko Willink way! Glad to know you are on board with it too, my friend 👊
PogChamp usually at around 8:30 or 9:00PM, sometimes 10PM
What's the Jock Willink way? And I've tried working out early but feel much Weaker on my lifts
Nick B his biggest trademark is ”getting up before the enemy” which is to say, he gets up at 4:30 or earlier every day of every week and posts a photo of his wristwatch. Yeah I agree, in the mornings I don’t lift, I usually go for a run or other kind of cardio. Just get it done at some point during the day 😎
im a casual watcher, i been following your channel for quite some time, a video here and video there, but not everyday, i enjoy your content. continue in this spirit!
You have sunlight at 5:30 AM?? Wtf?
It depends on where you are in your time zone. Where I live we get sun that early in the summer.
@@hannahj489 Awesome!!
And it depends on the season either. During summer, the sun rises earlier and sets later. Here where I live the sun is already shining at 5:30 am
I have been watching many youtube fitness videos but never I have found so good content you guys are seriously amazing.
For 31 years I've been waking up 4:30-5:00 AM its the best thing, you get so much stuff done by 9:00AM without dealing with distractions.
but you can get the same amount of work done if you stay up later after people go to sleep, just depends if you are a morning person or a night person
@@serpinfingers2819 I understand, but there is something about waking up and feeling productive that I just can't replicate by staying up late. It's a spiritual and mind thing I guess
I really liked this heart to heart! Stay Buff!
Everyone's life is a made from scratch recipe: you only get out of it what you put into it. Keep up the good work dude!
It was kind of weird seeing those throwbacks of when you guys filmed in the truck. I forgot how long ago that was and the fact that I and many others have subscribed and kept watching over the years. Ya’ll keep it up
"I am small" Small he says. Still looks better than 95% of people
Great video. As someone whose life has taken an unexpected turn, I can totally relate to waking up and feeling a little adrift and depressed. Thanks for the reminder that mindset, drive and making (and meeting) your goals makes all the difference.

I have been watching you guys since 2012-2013 the Park Days and you guys have evolved so much, I love it!
I remember years ago I convinced myself I was going to start going to the gym at 4:30am every day! Day 1 I woke up and said fuck that 🤣 went back to sleep and told myself I’d never do that again
Yeah 8am and 8pm are the best times to go because it’s always quiet and it’s 8:20am now so I best get moving
2 WheelsForever you’ll wake the whole house up with that 🤣 I’ve been waking up in the middle of the night for the past few weeks, I just woke up there and it’s 4am here in Ireland but I’m going back to sleep and I’ll go to the gym at 8am
My gym doesn’t open until 8:30am today anyway because it’s Sunday
@2 WheelsForever Out of the topic, just went search for the Germanic War Drums, it is fantastic. Thank you.
