What I hate the most with Nihilus... is how weak this boss actually is... such a shame compared to Sion who is clearly more difficult to kill despite a video clearly showing that Nihilus would make Sion his bitch.
Nihilus is actually rather weak. The only reason why he can defeat people stronger than him (such as Sion) is because of his status as a Force wound. He's able to feed off the living Force itself, taking life out of his victims and using it to get more power, however, on his own, without taking Force power from others, he is weak. Meetra is a similar case, however she didn't realize she had this power at first, and she also becomes stronger with each life she takes. That's why she's the only one who can defeat Nihilus, because her and Nihilus have the same status, they're both the same kind of Force wound. It doesn't matter how strong you are, if all you have is power, Nihilus can just take it from you. You have to be the type of Force anomaly that is able to pretty much block Nihilus' Force Drain and throw it back at him to make sure that all he has is only his strength, which is what Meetra did.
Well his Style of lightsaber combat, Makashi is designed for 1v1 lightsaber combat. Makashi is very bad for fighting more than one person and at deflecting blaster bolts. He's fighting two Jedi and Mandalore the Preserver. Of course he's gonna be out of his element. All this after he was badly weakened by attempting to Force Drain the Exile

He should've been stronger for this fight, his very presence slowly kills people, it should've been that during the fight your HP would slowly but surely be drained and Darth Nililus would recover as you get weaker.
+Rolomir Fenrir Rushed final part of the game pretty much. It's pretty clear they wanted that fight to work differently, but at that point they where scrapping everything together to just 'get it done'.
Well that's the thing: the Exile and Nihilus are both living Force Wounds, and both feed off of the force in some way or another. So when Nihilus tries to feed on you, it effectively backfires, weakening him
I just started playing the game again and I came across an interesting piece of dialogue between the Exile and Visas, and later Kreia. Apparently Nihilus is starving and is growing weaker and more desperate. He mainly feeds on the Force that radiates from Force-sensitives and Jedi. His hunger constantly grows and the Force from whole planets could no longer sustain him. He attacked Katarr because of a mass gathering of Jedi and it's Force-sensitive population. Now that the Jedi are all but extinct, he's finding it harder to find a suitable food source. Which is why he needed to die, otherwise, he would turn to feed on the whole galaxy out of desperation.
The Exile is literally Nihilus' weakness. Nihilus eats the Force, constantly consuming. But since the Exile is a living wound in the Force, Nihilus is essentially eating anti-food, weakening him greatly. Also he relies too much on force drain.
One thing people fail to realise is that while YES Nihilus can drain the life of others in SECONDS if he want too... The Exile is a special case because she herself is a wound in the force. She's the only character in the whole universe to be actually IMUNE to Nihilus power and actually it's how the others can fight him too, because he try to DRAIN you and it only weaken him by a wide margin. Think of him as a super special weapon that is praticly invincible in most circumstance except for one instance. YOU are the weapon that is the perfect counter for that weapon.
You do realise that Darth Nihilus could just kill/absorb people with a snap of his fingers. realistically speaking, this fight would never have happened. Darth Nihilus is so power mad and force hungry that even the sith stay away from him.
Ironic isn't it for a Sith Lord Darth Nilihus unlike most Sith Lords - he didn't give a 'Force' about the Sith Order or the Sith doctrines - all he cared about was just satisfying his 'hunger' and he didn't care about anything else at all - come to think of it how would the following Sith Lords have fared against him: 1.) HeirofGojira91 It had absolutely nothing to do with any of it. He wasn't powerful. Infact he was remarkably weak, compared to some Sith Lords. However, this 'affliction' was unique. Only 2 known force users had it, the Exile, and Nihilus. The difference being, Nihilus managed to feed off of his affliction, to the point to where he was literally *KILLING* the force itself. He was a black hole. The Exile, was simply something that he could not feed off of, which made him weaker. I would argue that most of those Sith Lords you listed, would not stand a chance against Nihilus, simply due to his affliction. Without his affliction, I have no doubt that Nihilus would lose to *all* of them.
Yeah, and Kreia was making it pretty obvious throughout KOTOR 2 that she had an evil-streek in her and betrayal on her part was just a matter of time, but with Bastila you actually felt a genuine amount of surprise when she turned.
Perhaps behind Darth Nihilus' mask, there was a Shadow Person (also known as a Night Folk in the "Deep Sleep" Trilogy). So Nihilus became so attuned to the Dark Side of the Force that he essentially went from a human to a wraith. This would certainly explain his creepy, whispery voice: Wraiths/Shadow People/Night Folk can speak (and even scream) only in whispers.

they are both wounds in fact. Darth Nihilus is arguably the strongest dark side user ever, but his sabre skill is average, thats how she beat him, if you can take away his power (couldnt drain her since they are both wounds) then he can be easily destroyed
I think the op just wanted the fight to be more eventful. As tragic as his story is, and as much potential destruction he caused, he's defeated in a matter of minutes and just fades away into obscurity and irrelevancy like he wasnt shit to begin with. Is that irony, is it poetic, anti climactic? all if the above?
Dont forget the game was also rushed out the door to sale for Christmas because it was the sequel to game of the year. Soooooooo much got cut from the game it’s criminal, we would have gotten a true master piece of a game if they were given a spring or summer release.
Nihilus attempted to absorb The Jedi Exile's Force energy, but failed and exhausted himself because of her ability to draw on the Force energy of those around her. Then while they were fighting Visas Marr entered a trance and disrupted the link with Nihilus weakening his connection to the Force through their Force bond and making him even more vulnerable thats how they were able to kill him they kept weakening him.
Literally too powerful to be killed by a mere man, so they needed to starve him, get another wound to fight him, AND use Kreia's tricks against him. Big sad. Should have been a way to play him against Kreia and Darth Sion
Over the last 2 years I've played this game about 3 dozen times on the original Xbox console and something strange happened. The cut scene that shows the dark lord's body being vaporized by red bolts of lightning, when it was over I noticed that the body was still on the ground. This had never happened before, so I went over and sure enough there were remains. His red lightsaber and jedi master robes. Don't know why it occured on this occasion but it will probably be another 3 dozen play-throughs if it happens again.

When I heard that Rian Johmson was a fan of thia series and he is responsible for the next star wars trilogy, it kinda gave me hope for this series and for him to have a fresh start after the last jedi, but now he said he isn't making KoTOR, but also another director is developing another trilogy and he knows about this side of the EU so I hope its gonna be this.

I am responding as a fan of the original trilogy. Yoda did not need a lightsaber and the Emperor clearly never had one since he padded it disrespectfully and referred to it as "a Jedi's weapon."

Disappointing game. "Lets make 2 of the COOLEST sith ever!!!!" You cant beat Nihlius it takes 3 of you. Sources state it was either Canderous or Visas that killed him. Sion commits suicide. And the only one you do kill is a one handed old woman.
Mandalore the Ultimate, goes to show the "Sith Triunvirate" was a poorly thought concept for the Sith to succeed with, unlike Rule of One and Rule of Two, there´s no way a Sith Triunvirate could ever work, case the will of the Master, can be too easily undermined by a 2 on 1 by the apprentices and the apprentices themselves feel disencentivized from a 1 on 1 since a 3rd wheel is left, due to this the logical option is to have a duo taking out the 3rd sith and then have things ruled between both and call it a day. All of it weakens the sith, since 2 on 1, makes sure that a duo of weaker sith can gang up on a stronger sith, the whole concept would´ve been laughed at by Darth Bane and Darth Krayt as a poor joke.

Tiny question (from someone who is relatively new to the awesomeness that is KOTOR II) when that hissing whisper sound plays (usually before the player dialogue box comes up)...is that supposed to be Nihilus 'speaking'? *Can* he actually physically speak at all, and the player just can't understand what he says, or is he not using actual speech at all, and using telepathy via the Force to communicate, and that hissing is what the audience hears to tip them off that Nihilus is *talking*?

Except he WAS a man. If not the hunger which took over him making him a mindless predator, he'd be a person, who hated the Exile the most. And that hate'd be justified. If Meetra has commited war crimes during the Mandalorian Wars, he was a number one victim.

Hear me out: what if Disney has a side series just called “Legends” where they dive into EU stuff and give characters like Nihilus and Aboloth a chance to be on the big screen, even if they don’t necessarily make these characters canon.
They could have written their fiction any way they wanted to. Sure, it makes sense in that context, but it ends up making what could have been an epic fight highly underwhelming.
Thats what Darth Vader should of been like. if Anakin could move an entire planet in the Clone Wars show then Vader should of been able to destroy an entire Rebel fleet with a flick of his finger. StarKiller can pull entire Star Destoryers out of the sky. yet thats nothing compaired to the full power of the force.
Honestly think Emperor Vitiate should have been Darth Nihlus. I get the vibe Obsidian had bigger plans for Nihlus as a bigger antagonist in KOTOR 3, given that he is a literal wound in the Force, and so long as the Force exists, so does Nihlus.
Well tbh he did fuck up and used his powers in order to "suck dat force" from Telos cause he had been told there were lotsa jedi there. When there was not enough to sustain him he was exhausted instead of renewed. But i completely agree the fight was way to easy and it was like this huuuge buildup trough the entire game for that fight xD i mean i took him down in 2 power attacks that crit :p could have 1 shotted him if the fight did not stop halfway trough where Mira goes omg he is so strong :(
This fight would have been a little better and realistic if Nihilus could command his slaves to fight for him, and if you still gang up on Nihilus he just kills a slave and drains their health.

You have to be the type of Force anomaly that is able to pretty much block Nihilus' Force Drain and throw it back at him to make sure that all he has is only his strength, which is what Meetra did.
Well his Style of lightsaber combat, Makashi is designed for 1v1 lightsaber combat. Makashi is very bad for fighting more than one person and at deflecting blaster bolts. He's fighting two Jedi and Mandalore the Preserver. Of course he's gonna be out of his element. All this after he was badly weakened by attempting to Force Drain the Exile

Well that's the thing: the Exile and Nihilus are both living Force Wounds, and both feed off of the force in some way or another. So when Nihilus tries to feed on you, it effectively backfires, weakening him

I just started playing the game again and I came across an interesting piece of dialogue between the Exile and Visas, and later Kreia. Apparently Nihilus is starving and is growing weaker and more desperate. He mainly feeds on the Force that radiates from Force-sensitives and Jedi. His hunger constantly grows and the Force from whole planets could no longer sustain him. He attacked Katarr because of a mass gathering of Jedi and it's Force-sensitive population. Now that the Jedi are all but extinct, he's finding it harder to find a suitable food source. Which is why he needed to die, otherwise, he would turn to feed on the whole galaxy out of desperation.

The Exile is literally Nihilus' weakness. Nihilus eats the Force, constantly consuming. But since the Exile is a living wound in the Force, Nihilus is essentially eating anti-food, weakening him greatly.
Also he relies too much on force drain.
Its like fighting while you have food poisoning.

The Exile is a special case because she herself is a wound in the force. She's the only character in the whole universe to be actually IMUNE to Nihilus power and actually it's how the others can fight him too, because he try to DRAIN you and it only weaken him by a wide margin.
Think of him as a super special weapon that is praticly invincible in most circumstance except for one instance. YOU are the weapon that is the perfect counter for that weapon.

Only 2 known force users had it, the Exile, and Nihilus. The difference being, Nihilus managed to feed off of his affliction, to the point to where he was literally *KILLING* the force itself. He was a black hole. The Exile, was simply something that he could not feed off of, which made him weaker.
I would argue that most of those Sith Lords you listed, would not stand a chance against Nihilus, simply due to his affliction. Without his affliction, I have no doubt that Nihilus would lose to *all* of them.

Yeah, and Kreia was making it pretty obvious throughout KOTOR 2 that she had an evil-streek in her and betrayal on her part was just a matter of time, but with Bastila you actually felt a genuine amount of surprise when she turned.
Perhaps behind Darth Nihilus' mask, there was a Shadow Person (also known as a Night Folk in the "Deep Sleep" Trilogy). So Nihilus became so attuned to the Dark Side of the Force that he essentially went from a human to a wraith. This would certainly explain his creepy, whispery voice: Wraiths/Shadow People/Night Folk can speak (and even scream) only in whispers.

they are both wounds in fact. Darth Nihilus is arguably the strongest dark side user ever, but his sabre skill is average, thats how she beat him, if you can take away his power (couldnt drain her since they are both wounds) then he can be easily destroyed

I think the op just wanted the fight to be more eventful. As tragic as his story is, and as much potential destruction he caused, he's defeated in a matter of minutes and just fades away into obscurity and irrelevancy like he wasnt shit to begin with. Is that irony, is it poetic, anti climactic? all if the above?
Dont forget the game was also rushed out the door to sale for Christmas because it was the sequel to game of the year. Soooooooo much got cut from the game it’s criminal, we would have gotten a true master piece of a game if they were given a spring or summer release.

Nihilus attempted to absorb The Jedi Exile's Force energy, but failed and exhausted himself because of her ability to draw on the Force energy of those around her. Then while they were fighting Visas Marr entered a trance and disrupted the link with Nihilus weakening his connection to the Force through their Force bond and making him even more vulnerable thats how they were able to kill him they kept weakening him.
Literally too powerful to be killed by a mere man, so they needed to starve him, get another wound to fight him, AND use Kreia's tricks against him. Big sad. Should have been a way to play him against Kreia and Darth Sion

Over the last 2 years I've played this game about 3 dozen times on the original Xbox console and something strange happened. The cut scene that
shows the dark lord's body being vaporized by red bolts of lightning, when it was over I noticed that the body was still on the ground. This had never
happened before, so I went over and sure enough there were remains. His red lightsaber and jedi master robes. Don't know why it occured on this
occasion but it will probably be another 3 dozen play-throughs if it happens again.
I wouldn't be opposed to them doing a remake of this series. Making the sith lords more challenging too. That would be sick.

When I heard that Rian Johmson was a fan of thia series and he is responsible for the next star wars trilogy, it kinda gave me hope for this series and for him to have a fresh start after the last jedi, but now he said he isn't making KoTOR, but also another director is developing another trilogy and he knows about this side of the EU so I hope its gonna be this.

I am responding as a fan of the original trilogy. Yoda did not need a lightsaber and the Emperor clearly never had one since he padded it disrespectfully and referred to it as "a Jedi's weapon."

Mandalore the Ultimate, goes to show the "Sith Triunvirate" was a poorly thought concept for the Sith to succeed with, unlike Rule of One and Rule of Two, there´s no way a Sith Triunvirate could ever work, case the will of the Master, can be too easily undermined by a 2 on 1 by the apprentices and the apprentices themselves feel disencentivized from a 1 on 1 since a 3rd wheel is left, due to this the logical option is to have a duo taking out the 3rd sith and then have things ruled between both and call it a day.
All of it weakens the sith, since 2 on 1, makes sure that a duo of weaker sith can gang up on a stronger sith, the whole concept would´ve been laughed at by Darth Bane and Darth Krayt as a poor joke.

Tiny question (from someone who is relatively new to the awesomeness that is KOTOR II) when that hissing whisper sound plays (usually before the player dialogue box comes up)...is that supposed to be Nihilus 'speaking'? *Can* he actually physically speak at all, and the player just can't understand what he says, or is he not using actual speech at all, and using telepathy via the Force to communicate, and that hissing is what the audience hears to tip them off that Nihilus is *talking*?

@Ascend808 ye and also they have to heal nihilus dint really have to heal loads of times like sion and kreia had them 3 lightsabers helping her and she healed once so it was not really fair on nihilus

Fighting Nihilus was like fighting that one ''Sith Master'' on Dxun, except with quadruple health. Still easy, just takes longer.

Darth Nihilus is fucking creepy. Hes scared me more then any other sith lord in the entire series.
Hear me out: what if Disney has a side series just called “Legends” where they dive into EU stuff and give characters like Nihilus and Aboloth a chance to be on the big screen, even if they don’t necessarily make these characters canon.

They could have written their fiction any way they wanted to. Sure, it makes sense in that context, but it ends up making what could have been an epic fight highly underwhelming.
Thats what Darth Vader should of been like. if Anakin could move an entire planet in the Clone Wars show then Vader should of been able to destroy an entire Rebel fleet with a flick of his finger.
StarKiller can pull entire Star Destoryers out of the sky. yet thats nothing compaired to the full power of the force.
Anakin could do the same, actually. I think there is a comic or novel where Anakin pulls a Separatist frigate out of the sky.

Honestly think Emperor Vitiate should have been Darth Nihlus. I get the vibe Obsidian had bigger plans for Nihlus as a bigger antagonist in KOTOR 3, given that he is a literal wound in the Force, and so long as the Force exists, so does Nihlus.

Kreia was 10 times harder to kill than Darth Nihilus.
Well tbh he did fuck up and used his powers in order to "suck dat force" from Telos cause he had been told there were lotsa jedi there. When there was not enough to sustain him he was exhausted instead of renewed.
But i completely agree the fight was way to easy and it was like this huuuge buildup trough the entire game for that fight xD i mean i took him down in 2 power attacks that crit :p could have 1 shotted him if the fight did not stop halfway trough where Mira goes omg he is so strong :(
A remake I demand on the Unreal 4 engine.
This fight would have been a little better and realistic if Nihilus could command his slaves to fight for him, and if you still gang up on Nihilus he just kills a slave and drains their health.
I had a lot harder time. I literally filled the entire room with mines to beat him.

Yeah...actually the fact that Kreia talked about the Sith ways so much, i thought that she WASN't going to fight me. whatevs. Bastila is the better character still.
