I like Sion because I believe he represents what a raw Sith is. Independent, hates life, doesn't speak in a stereotypical evil speech, but straightforward, monotone and cold. A badass Sith, but not as powerful as Nihilus unfortunately

+Ultimate Excalibur Sion was really weak in his own way. He's bound up by his creepy love-hate relationship with Kreia who he seems to love like a mother, and also sort of almost romantically.
Yeah. I didn't mean "two dimensional" or anything. I mean he's weak in that he's a baby who just wants approval from his mentor, not understanding that's never going to happen since he's everything she hates.
They seriously need to come out with a retextured HD version of KOTOR and KOTOR II. Not saying that graphics make the game what it is, but if any game deserves a re-release, it's these games.
I agree so much with this. Graphics don't make a game, but they can sure add too it. Sometimes you just stop and appreciate the view for a good 5 min. KOTOR & KOTOR 2 with officaly restored content (not the mod), next gen graphics and *slight* improvments to the combat system (smoother, nicer animations for example, maybe even a revamp of the skill system) would be killer. I'd totaly pay a full AAA game price for each. And after that a KOTOR 3 would be sweet. Not saying SWTOR is bad (I love that game to death), but it's not as satisfying or engaging, with it being an MMO.
SWTOR is a really fun game, but it's basically just a Star Wars MMO riding off of KOTOR's popularity. Getting upset at The Old Republic because it isn't Knights of the Old Republic 3 is really stupid. I could easily see Knights of the Old Republic I and II HD re-releases storming Game of the Year.
I found it interesting and slightly disturbing how dark and scary the sequel has became. Especially after the first game. Though I enjoyed the story much more in this.Too bad that most of us became overpowered in the mid-end game :)
there is an improvment download for nihilus making him alot stronger but still beatable...it adds too the hipe he gets, and to the epic character he is
Obsidian like to add their own spin or deconstructions of popular series, that's why KOTOR and KOTOR2 are both equally good. One is an immersive Star Wars experience appealing to your love of the series. Kotor2 takes that same love to throw a curveball, exemplifying, criticizing and analysing the star wars typical black and white universe with shades of grey, that's why I think this game is such an exceptional example of gameplay narrative, your decisions are shaping the universe but in a subtle more gradual way, defining the people around you, and seeing the future you create , with some dark side choices actually being the better outcome, I liked it less when I first played it for being so strange to the universe I knew, but that's ironically why I think it's superior now, even though both are excellent

+borek92 I think that KOTOR trumps KOTOR 2 for two reasons. First off, the Revan reveal was FANTASTIC in the original KOTOR. And finally, and possibly most importantly, the end to KOTOR 2 was so disappointing. However, both are great games

You still don't get full closure on what happens to the rest of your crew. Obviously reading Revan's book can fill in about Bastila, T3, and Meetra (and possibly others), but still it wasn't in the game

Its weird but really interesting how each of the Triumvirate found their own unique understanding of the force through their suffering, and each became incredibly powerful from it. Sion mastered pain and became essentially immortal, Traya gained 'true force sight' and Nihilus became a wound in the force, draining all force sensitives to fuel his own power. I love how they set up Nihilus and the Exile as exact opposites of each other, yet they are exactly the same. Both veterans of Malachor, destroyers of worlds and wounds in the force. I wonder if the Exile could have the same power Nihilus had?
+FlyingFox1994 If you do a Dark Side play through of the game, the Exile uses Force consumption abilities eerily similar to those of Nihilus. Given their similar conditions and that ability (DS playthrough, I won't spoil when), the Exile could likely end up like Nihilus.
The Jedi council even feared that the Exile would turn into what Nihilus already was. Nihilus was basically the end-goal of a dark side force wound, what would have happened if the Exile gave into the power, rather than cut herself off from it.
In my Dark Side playthrough, I *BECAME* the next Nihilus. My power as a Jedi Guardian Sith Lord was unrivaled the moment I got Force Crush, because I finally had all dark side force powers, and I could 2 shot any grunt with my dual wield lightsaber setup
Eventually yes every opponent she killed made her stronger which means that if she killed a planets worth like nihilus she would’ve been one of if not the greatest force user ever. That’s why the council exiled her she would’ve been exactly like him
meetra already does have the same powers nihilus has. she just uses them for other things as opposed to eating planets like galactus. theyre both siphons.

Well, Nihilus wasn't necessary for defeating Traya, Sion could've done it himself. But Nihilus would surely backup Traya, so he needed to convince him to form an aliance first.

I would much like to think that Nihilus really didn't spare him, he didn't hold back knowing that Sion can't die. I like to think more of Sion that can be wounded but always regenerates and heals. See how sion was completely defeated and after a few seconds he's completely back up again? Sion is also powerful but Nihilus more powerful than him

Nihilus, Sion and Traya made this game incredible... and still incredible in Star Wars universe. Sidious and Yoda would shit in there pants if they had to face anyone of those 3.
Nah, sidious was able to conquer the republic and manipulate everyone better than traya. His mentor plagius was so powerful he could prevent others from dying and ended up killing him in his sleep. Palpatines interesting quote "ironic. He could save others from death - but not himself."
Hehe, really doubt Sidious would stand a chance against the Triumvirate, they had a very powerful force drainer that could end Sidious in a blink of an eye. And an immortal being. Only Traya would be in danger, but with those by her side nothing would happen to her. And if I recall, something that Darth Traya stated in the game was that the past Sith Lords will always be stronger than the future one. And she was right, none of them could even compare to Vitiate's power or Tulak Hord's skill. Same with this.
Nah, Nihilus beats any sith in old canon. He can kill a planet at will. Kreia admits there is not defense against force drain, and Nihulus is the master of it. He can hold an entire ship together and pull it from the mass shadow. He was supposed to barely recognize individuals. He only died because Kreia is a master manipulator and knew his weakness, only exploitable by the Exile. tl;dr Nihulus is the best because he has drawbacks that come along with his epic power. Not just Bane, Sidious, or Vitiate, who were just powerful sith who Nihulus would munch down like some pringles.
Darth Nihilus is like a ghost, because he is made of dark side energy. And Darth Sion is like a zombie because his body is falling apart. So this battle is between a ghost and a zombie (ghost vs zombie).
Also, Nihilus eats the force, like, he drains the force powers and force energy of others. Sion is only alive because of the force holding him together
SavageRush012 Technically, Nihilus of all people could probably tear Sion from the force, ultimately killing him. Atleast, that's what was claimed in the game.
Sherlock Holmes I still think he had a shred of who he once was. They talk a little about why he saved Visas. And if he was truly nothing of his old self he'd have no reason to want to put Sion in his place, rather than just kill him outright. I think throughout the game he's on the brink of being this all-powerful force of nature, but not quite there yet. He's not above talking to people or even forging alliances. He's a slave to his hunger, but he's not all gone yet.
Wow! This video was uploaded back in 2006. This puts it back in the early years of You Tube. Has to be one of the oldest You Tube videos I've seen in quite a while. I love reading the comments. Some are fairly recent while others are over a decade old, yet by reading them you'd think that they were all posted on the same day.
Something I love about this scene is how Nihilus DOESN'T even care about Sion. He is looking at the void, without paying attention to him. Like he didn't exist. Like he was nothing. And he IS nothing. Nihilus is a physical black hole, attracted by life, Force, at impossible scale. Sion is merely a single creature, insignificant compared to a planet's aura. Nihilus only responds when he attacks, as it was merely a pure reflex. Then turns back, looking for its next meal. It is no longer human. Nor a Sith. It is an entity devoring all, speaking a forgotten language. An aberration at a cosmic level. You can't threaten something which no longer exist. Which cannot think. Which could not die. And as Sion understood at the end, you don't want it to pay attention to you.
Man I love sion. He might not be the most powerful, but he is very unique in his own way. I wish that we could've known about nihilus and sions story when they were still regular people.

Remember the Sith holocrons in the room where you fight Atris? I thought those sounded pretty close to what Nihilus sounded like, and since they are ancient, your theory is quite possible. Also, there's the theory that Zayne Carrick from the KOTOR comic is Nihilus, but I haven't seen any evidence to support that.
What about right after Revan destroyed the Star Forge? The Republic was week and vulnerable. He could've launched a full scale invasion. Nobody could've stopped him. Sidious knew when to act. Darth Sidious accomplished what no other Sith did, it might have ben for a short time (20 years), but he still did it. No Sith before or after him did what he did. He dealt both the Jedi and the Republic a blow that they would Never fully recover from, even centuries after he died.
If anyone paid attention the reason these monsters exist is because they disobeyed the Jedi Order, fought in war and gave into the dark side then when malacor blew up a huge force ripple ripped their souls apart turning them into black holes in the force, consuming all life till another black hole closed the gap so the force could heal (exile)

For me Darth Nihilus is the coolest síth ever...!!! With his pure presence he is able to swallow whole planets and human life forms!!! And he has that self destructive behaviour without knowing it...!!! I think he could easily beat vader or skywalker...!

I think everyone needs to admit that the writers wrote themselves into a corner and inadvertently made the most power Force user (feeder?) in canon. Just declare him the most powerful, strip him of this title by acknowledging the writers' error, and move on. The guy was a black hole under a robe. He could only be defeated by another black hole under a robe albeit a wuss given what the newest canon did to her. She should have been Revan's foil; feeding on his power to ensure that Revan could never defeat her in battle and recognize her as an equal BUT NOOOOOO! We had to dumb it down for the kiddies.

Frankly I don't know why fans give so much power to no-name authors to proclaim what is and is not canon. It is absurd.
"Feel kind of enlighted" or "Some kind of enlightenment". And yes, we completely agree, you always find a new piece of the puzzle, and you even get to choose most of the pieces that concern you, and even others pieces every now and then. It's like watching a really good, action, detective, adventure, mystery and sci-fi/fantasy-movie, supernatural-themed. All seamlessly enrolled into one, while you at the same play the action and get to choose what paths are taken. Incredible work.
This game is so good, because of all those mysteries from the past and the darkness surrounding everything. The soundtrack is fenomenal, I`m proudly admitting I listen to it quite often on my mp3 player. Some games you play like watching a movie- they`re okay, but you finish it and barelythink of it again. But THIS. This is like going to a fucking theater! Anytime I play it it never gets boring, because I always find something new and I always feel some kind of enlighted. Pure art!
What's interesting about Nihilus and Sion is how they're not a pair of sith like we've seen before. Zannah and Bane, Palpatine and Maul/Dooku/Vader, Ben and Snoke. There's no master and apprentice vibe here, not even the sense that they were partners at any point. It's clear Kreia was the only thing holding them together. even though we never see them working together, you can feel their past interactions any time two of them are onscreen.
Darth Traya was the master of both Sion and Nihilus, she teach Nihilus how to eat planets and feed his hunger, they has similarities, for that reason they decide to found the Sith Triunvirate. Soon after Sion and Nihilus betrayed their master.
Wow... this video was released so soon after KOTOR 2 came out, and not terribly long into the life of TH-cam. 😮 Really, let's just think about all that's changed in the fandom and the world in that time... For one, the EU was still around and going strong, Filoni's Clone Wars hadn't debuted yet with Filoni going out of his way to use George Lucas to discredit the EU at every turn and justify whatever he did. We were on the Legacy of the Force series of books, where Jacen falls to the dark side and becomes Darth Caedus, killing off Mara Jade and several others. We also had the Legacy comic book run, and New Jedi Order, with the Yuuzhan Vong War as well as the infamous death of Chewie, had just wrapped up, as well as the much-maligned prequels. Disney was just a glimmer in George Lucas's eyes, Bob Iger had only just bought Pixar, and the sequels hadn't even happened yet. The fandom, while still split into its many separate camps, wasn't quite as divided as today, and Lucasfilm management was far more fan-interactive and less tone-deaf. Now we got the Disney sequels, the High Republic, the EU was needlessly cancelled despite the opportunities the new Legends label gave them, with several plotlines taken directly from the EU to be plastered on screen without so much as a single credit given to them, several kiddy shows from Filoni that prove the man is either far more ignorant to lore than most people want to admit, or that he gets a thrill out of altering it to trigger nitpicking nerds. Disney has expanded to seize Marvel, Lucasfilm, Fox, and several other studios (thankfully not MGM, though). We have several prominent fan groups ripping each other apart, such as the #FandomMenace, Reylos, Legends fans, as well as the sequel lovers, Last Jedi defenders, Force Awakens haters, in addition to many others which existed prior and have formed in the wake of the Disney buyout. And of course, the changes in the Star Wars fandom reflect those in a hyperpolarized culture. Since 2006, we have seen the steady consolidation of the supercenter store and online outlets like Amazon, rise of platforms like Netflix and Hulu that kickstarted the streaming wars, brick and mortar stores have dwindled even further, Blockbuster went out of business, theaters keep shrinking, the Internet further fractured people with the debut of social media and the abandoning of all the older rules of the Web (like keeping your name anonymous!), MySpace lost relevancy, monopolization has crept into every corner of American life and led to homogenization of the arts, the MCU killed geek culture and made any two-bit username worth their salt able to appear more informed than they actually are, a new wave of content creators have defaulted to destroying older characters to try to uplift newer ones, we kicked out Bush (good riddance), elected the first black president, and then the first orange president, nominated the first woman candidate, and doubled down into rising racial trends following the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks, with the intrusion of identity politics into every facet of the United States, Bin Laden was killed, a whole new conflict began in the Middle East, and of course, increasing riots and violence and destabilization of trust in national institutions and classical American values thanks in no small part due to excessive outsourcing of our labor and goods to other countries... I'm mad that KOTOR 1 and 2 are being ruined by Disney and Lucas Arts (because the former declared it to be non-canon, while the latter, knowing that it would most definitely destroy the franchise, happily sold it to them anyway) and Bioware (because what should have been a revolutionary KOTOR 3, turned into a Ponzi scheme in the form of TOR while blatantly ruining the KOTOR characters).
If you are dark, get these three moves: Force Wave, Death Field, Force Storm. Use Force wave when entering battle to knock some of em out, then just use Force Storm for the battle, and use Death Field when you need health. Hope this helps! PS: On Malachor V, you get a special power depending upon if you are dark or light. I'm always dark, and the power you get if you are dark on Malachor V, is similar to Force Choke.

I like Sion because I believe he represents what a raw Sith is. Independent, hates life, doesn't speak in a stereotypical evil speech, but straightforward, monotone and cold. A badass Sith, but not as powerful as Nihilus unfortunately

They seriously need to come out with a retextured HD version of KOTOR and KOTOR II. Not saying that graphics make the game what it is, but if any game deserves a re-release, it's these games.
I agree so much with this. Graphics don't make a game, but they can sure add too it. Sometimes you just stop and appreciate the view for a good 5 min. KOTOR & KOTOR 2 with officaly restored content (not the mod), next gen graphics and *slight* improvments to the combat system (smoother, nicer animations for example, maybe even a revamp of the skill system) would be killer. I'd totaly pay a full AAA game price for each. And after that a KOTOR 3 would be sweet. Not saying SWTOR is bad (I love that game to death), but it's not as satisfying or engaging, with it being an MMO.
SWTOR is a really fun game, but it's basically just a Star Wars MMO riding off of KOTOR's popularity. Getting upset at The Old Republic because it isn't Knights of the Old Republic 3 is really stupid.
I could easily see Knights of the Old Republic I and II HD re-releases storming Game of the Year.

Well Obsidian are remnants of Black Isle. And Black Isle's stories were always far darker and more in depth than the stuff from Bioware.
Obsidian like to add their own spin or deconstructions of popular series, that's why KOTOR and KOTOR2 are both equally good. One is an immersive Star Wars experience appealing to your love of the series. Kotor2 takes that same love to throw a curveball, exemplifying, criticizing and analysing the star wars typical black and white universe with shades of grey, that's why I think this game is such an exceptional example of gameplay narrative, your decisions are shaping the universe but in a subtle more gradual way, defining the people around you, and seeing the future you create , with some dark side choices actually being the better outcome, I liked it less when I first played it for being so strange to the universe I knew, but that's ironically why I think it's superior now, even though both are excellent

Its weird but really interesting how each of the Triumvirate found their own unique understanding of the force through their suffering, and each became incredibly powerful from it. Sion mastered pain and became essentially immortal, Traya gained 'true force sight' and Nihilus became a wound in the force, draining all force sensitives to fuel his own power. I love how they set up Nihilus and the Exile as exact opposites of each other, yet they are exactly the same. Both veterans of Malachor, destroyers of worlds and wounds in the force. I wonder if the Exile could have the same power Nihilus had?
+FlyingFox1994 If you do a Dark Side play through of the game, the Exile uses Force consumption abilities eerily similar to those of Nihilus. Given their similar conditions and that ability (DS playthrough, I won't spoil when), the Exile could likely end up like Nihilus.
The Jedi council even feared that the Exile would turn into what Nihilus already was. Nihilus was basically the end-goal of a dark side force wound, what would have happened if the Exile gave into the power, rather than cut herself off from it.
In my Dark Side playthrough, I *BECAME* the next Nihilus. My power as a Jedi Guardian Sith Lord was unrivaled the moment I got Force Crush, because I finally had all dark side force powers, and I could 2 shot any grunt with my dual wield lightsaber setup

Nah, sidious was able to conquer the republic and manipulate everyone better than traya. His mentor plagius was so powerful he could prevent others from dying and ended up killing him in his sleep. Palpatines interesting quote "ironic. He could save others from death - but not himself."

Hehe, really doubt Sidious would stand a chance against the Triumvirate, they had a very powerful force drainer that could end Sidious in a blink of an eye. And an immortal being. Only Traya would be in danger, but with those by her side nothing would happen to her.
And if I recall, something that Darth Traya stated in the game was that the past Sith Lords will always be stronger than the future one. And she was right, none of them could even compare to Vitiate's power or Tulak Hord's skill.

Nah, Nihilus beats any sith in old canon. He can kill a planet at will. Kreia admits there is not defense against force drain, and Nihulus is the master of it. He can hold an entire ship together and pull it from the mass shadow. He was supposed to barely recognize individuals. He only died because Kreia is a master manipulator and knew his weakness, only exploitable by the Exile.
tl;dr Nihulus is the best because he has drawbacks that come along with his epic power. Not just Bane, Sidious, or Vitiate, who were just powerful sith who Nihulus would munch down like some pringles.
You underestimate Traya, she is the most powerful of both but not in brute force but manipulation and mind control

Kotor II is so much better than the first game. I hate SWTOR for how they brushed aside this masterpiece in favour of their own generic story.
Something I love about this scene is how Nihilus DOESN'T even care about Sion.
He is looking at the void, without paying attention to him. Like he didn't exist. Like he was nothing. And he IS nothing. Nihilus is a physical black hole, attracted by life, Force, at impossible scale. Sion is merely a single creature, insignificant compared to a planet's aura. Nihilus only responds when he attacks, as it was merely a pure reflex. Then turns back, looking for its next meal.
It is no longer human. Nor a Sith. It is an entity devoring all, speaking a forgotten language. An aberration at a cosmic level.

Also, there's the theory that Zayne Carrick from the KOTOR comic is Nihilus, but I haven't seen any evidence to support that.
What about right after Revan destroyed the Star Forge? The Republic was week and vulnerable. He could've launched a full scale invasion. Nobody could've stopped him. Sidious knew when to act. Darth Sidious accomplished what no other Sith did, it might have ben for a short time (20 years), but he still did it. No Sith before or after him did what he did. He dealt both the Jedi and the Republic a blow that they would Never fully recover from, even centuries after he died.

Raul Oancea Like I agree the Exile by the end is overpowered, but by that same logic a "powerful force user" is literally the worst possible match up for the exile, since she (or he) is basically a vacuum of force power so strong she annihilates a triumvirate so strong it brought the republic to tis knees, but some guy whose been masturbating in space for years is suddenly "too strong" XD

And yes, we completely agree, you always find a new piece of the puzzle, and you even get to choose most of the pieces that concern you, and even others pieces every now and then. It's like watching a really good, action, detective, adventure, mystery and sci-fi/fantasy-movie, supernatural-themed. All seamlessly enrolled into one, while you at the same play the action and get to choose what paths are taken. Incredible work.

This game is so good, because of all those mysteries from the past and the darkness surrounding everything. The soundtrack is fenomenal, I`m proudly admitting I listen to it quite often on my mp3 player. Some games you play like watching a movie- they`re okay, but you finish it and barelythink of it again. But THIS. This is like going to a fucking theater! Anytime I play it it never gets boring, because I always find something new and I always feel some kind of enlighted. Pure art!

What's interesting about Nihilus and Sion is how they're not a pair of sith like we've seen before. Zannah and Bane, Palpatine and Maul/Dooku/Vader, Ben and Snoke. There's no master and apprentice vibe here, not even the sense that they were partners at any point. It's clear Kreia was the only thing holding them together. even though we never see them working together, you can feel their past interactions any time two of them are onscreen.
Ben and Snoke aren't Sith Lords.

Wow... this video was released so soon after KOTOR 2 came out, and not terribly long into the life of TH-cam. 😮 Really, let's just think about all that's changed in the fandom and the world in that time...
For one, the EU was still around and going strong, Filoni's Clone Wars hadn't debuted yet with Filoni going out of his way to use George Lucas to discredit the EU at every turn and justify whatever he did. We were on the Legacy of the Force series of books, where Jacen falls to the dark side and becomes Darth Caedus, killing off Mara Jade and several others. We also had the Legacy comic book run, and New Jedi Order, with the Yuuzhan Vong War as well as the infamous death of Chewie, had just wrapped up, as well as the much-maligned prequels. Disney was just a glimmer in George Lucas's eyes, Bob Iger had only just bought Pixar, and the sequels hadn't even happened yet. The fandom, while still split into its many separate camps, wasn't quite as divided as today, and Lucasfilm management was far more fan-interactive and less tone-deaf.
Now we got the Disney sequels, the High Republic, the EU was needlessly cancelled despite the opportunities the new Legends label gave them, with several plotlines taken directly from the EU to be plastered on screen without so much as a single credit given to them, several kiddy shows from Filoni that prove the man is either far more ignorant to lore than most people want to admit, or that he gets a thrill out of altering it to trigger nitpicking nerds. Disney has expanded to seize Marvel, Lucasfilm, Fox, and several other studios (thankfully not MGM, though). We have several prominent fan groups ripping each other apart, such as the #FandomMenace, Reylos, Legends fans, as well as the sequel lovers, Last Jedi defenders, Force Awakens haters, in addition to many others which existed prior and have formed in the wake of the Disney buyout. And of course, the changes in the Star Wars fandom reflect those in a hyperpolarized culture.
Since 2006, we have seen the steady consolidation of the supercenter store and online outlets like Amazon, rise of platforms like Netflix and Hulu that kickstarted the streaming wars, brick and mortar stores have dwindled even further, Blockbuster went out of business, theaters keep shrinking, the Internet further fractured people with the debut of social media and the abandoning of all the older rules of the Web (like keeping your name anonymous!), MySpace lost relevancy, monopolization has crept into every corner of American life and led to homogenization of the arts, the MCU killed geek culture and made any two-bit username worth their salt able to appear more informed than they actually are, a new wave of content creators have defaulted to destroying older characters to try to uplift newer ones, we kicked out Bush (good riddance), elected the first black president, and then the first orange president, nominated the first woman candidate, and doubled down into rising racial trends following the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks, with the intrusion of identity politics into every facet of the United States, Bin Laden was killed, a whole new conflict began in the Middle East, and of course, increasing riots and violence and destabilization of trust in national institutions and classical American values thanks in no small part due to excessive outsourcing of our labor and goods to other countries...

If you are dark, get these three moves: Force Wave, Death Field, Force Storm. Use Force wave when entering battle to knock some of em out, then just use Force Storm for the battle, and use Death Field when you need health. Hope this helps!
PS: On Malachor V, you get a special power depending upon if you are dark or light. I'm always dark, and the power you get if you are dark on Malachor V, is similar to Force Choke.
