Jak 3 always gives me Christmas morning feelings since that when I got it. The first couple of missions throw me back to when I was a kid and didn’t care about anything else other than what the next mission is. This will always have a special place in my heart.
This will always be the best Jak game in the series for me personally. Jak 3 was always a great time to play as a kid and the story only got better after each act, my favorite things about, Jak 3, is Jak going back to his hero roots,(because he was more Anti-Hero in Jak 2, due to the dark eco and having gone through the barons experiments) the game balancing between the light-hearted and serious tones and the overall gameplay. Replaying the series again, being older, TPL was the beginning, Jak 2 went a new direction, but Jak 3 felt like a return to form and a much more mature Jak.
I mean, tbf Jak was probably suffering from PTSD during Jak 2. He got tortured for a whole year under the baron. So, I mean I don't blame his attitude change. That kind of treatment does affect a person's mentality and personality. So, the more negative traits like impulsiveness and aggression were probably amplified to 100 due to his experience. And in a war situation, that was kind of needed. And in Jak 3, he gets away from the city and finds the time to actually curb his impulses and aggression more and can behave better. Amplified by gaining light eco powers. So, Jak 3 was good for Jak's personal progression. The thing with Ashelin and the rest of the game feels a little less... full by comparison to Jak 2. Basically Jak 3 is like Frozen 2. It was great in terms of further developing the main character. But the story around it was... not as great as the previous installment.
Gaming still is pure fun in every way, you just have to dig vastly harder to find it between all the micro transactions and loot boxes and battle passes!
This third installments narrative is extremely weak and the time travel plots are terrible, jak 2 was alright, but this series does not need to continue
First game I ever played on my PS2 some 18 years ago. Will always be my all time favorite video game. Shame Naughty Dog abandoned the series, might have to download it on my PS5 and relive my childhood, thanks for the upload GLP!

As a kid, I was never 100% sure if Jak would in the future travel BACK into the past and continue AS Mar, or if he was a new person that was simply named AFTER Mar. Things get weird when your birth name is the same as a hero of legend, and the series has already used time travel to switch settings.
This game wasn't perfect. The writing was kind of back tbh, but I still love it. I remember my uncle surprising me with this game for my birthday when I was a kid. God rest his soul.

so many amazing memories playing these games with my older brother. Back when gaming was just about enjoying the game for what is was. No microtransactions, no updates, no dlc. I got so bummed as a kid when Ratchet & Clank overshadowed Jak & Daxter, I LOVED the 1st two games and hoped it would take off 20yrs ago lol, this is awesome to see 🤙
Ratchet and clank didn't over shadow shit, both games co-existed perfectly fine. The only reason we didn't get tons of Jak games was because Naughty Dog didn't want to turn it into a cash grab series. (confirmed in an interview) Many times they tried to make Jak 4 but they scrapped it in early conceptual stages. Most people who liked Ratchet and Clank also owned Jak and Daxter games probably, this was never " Ratchet franchise vs Jak franchise. "

Along with sly cooper and ratchet and clank the jak games are so nostalgic, i swear to god "on your monks. Get set. Ride!" Is seared into my brain because of the amount of tries it took me as a 7 year old 😂 All you had to do was catch the goddamn train CJ, on repeat, failure after failure 😂
I just watched The Last of Us 2 walkthrough. 😳😵 My mom didn't like this game and the TEEN rating back in the day in middle school. 😂😅 She would PRAY 🙏 for cartoon violence like this, now.
Gameplay is pretty weak and the narrative is also pretty weak, might be better than R&C, but sly 2 or 3 easily has it beat with better plot and gameplay
