This series CAN NOT be over. I have been binge watching the shows from this channel and I now would love to visit New Zealand. I am so happy for Terry, T.K., and Jarrod. I hope that they continue to progress and accomplish their dreams in life. And their families are amazing. Their support and love only motivated them to get better. I watch quite a few docu-series but this channel is by FAR one of the best that I have ever seen.
Thanks for your kind words Jaii! We really appreciate your support and will pass on this comment to the team. Hopefully we will do a follow up story with Terry, TK, Jarrod etc next year.. Thanks again for watching and stay tuned!
+Attitude I have also been doing the same and absolutely agree that this was a very informative, captivating, and inspiring show. Thank you for sharing their experiences and healing journey with us all!
It truly is. I'm an American in college and this series caused me to turn my whole life around and pursue neuro-therapy. I TRULY appreciate this series. Please keep it up somehow.
Oh gosh I cried so much when Jarrod's coach was telling the story and Jarrod started crying and his brothers started hugging him!! I wish all of these people well and I hope to see an update on them all
Thats what moms suppose to do. Its sad there are probably more that wouldn't than would though... She's a kick ass lady and deserves a long vacation to relax when She's not as needed by him
As the daughter of a TBI patient I appreciate this series and all you do to bring awareness and highlight the struggles that face not only the patients but also the families of TBI.
littlekiwinelson Wow...it’s remarkable how much resemblance can be seen between Maori and Hawaiian. That is, if I’m right to assume “aroha” is like the spirit of aloha?
Just finished watching all 5 parts. You find yourself rooting for these people you don't even know. I guess deep down we all want the best for those who suffered such a blow in life. TK is such a likable guy! All of them worked so hard and had good attitudes. I wonder if I'd be as brave as they. Thanks for a great show. It would be nice to see how they all are 6 years later.
Jarrod's family is incredibly loving. I don't remember ever hearing any mention of his father. Did I miss that? Too see his brother behind him throughout the journey while their mom was hard at work was so heartwarming. What a sweet family. All of the families are amazing.
Same with TK. Where are the dads? :( Impossible to know what’s going on with other people’s families/lives though. Loved seeing the loving, supportive families.
TK's mum is rad! And seems really young to me, maybe she had him very young, or it's her attitude and style that seems really young? Seems like an all round cool dude and really seems to be what he needed/needs
This is a very well-done series. I appreciate the care that went into telling the individual's stories. I shared these videos with my occupational therapy students today. We hope to see an update someday!
I work with people who have traumatic brain injuries and this video made me cry. Tears of joy, tears of sadness, tears for how much these people have lost, but also the new lives they've gained. Love to each and every family on here. ❤
This show is such a positive yet tender glimpse into the world of being human. Life is not one size fits all. Thanks for bringing some sensitivity and compassion into a world that is too often harsh and unfeeling.
Everyone has their own journey, trials and tribulations they go through, but my God these families have been through alot w/this. Makes me appreciate life so much more. Thank you.
I am going to college for a Behavioral Analyst degree to specifically work with people with traumatic brain injuries. This series is fantastic! Much love from Texas USA ❤
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. I feel like I know them all. Sending love and light to each and every one of them. You're amazing and don't ever forget it.
I have two clients who have ABI's and it was really good to get a clear insight into what their post-accident experiences were like. This series was amazing!
This is a truly touching, emotional and highly educational documentary. I cried and laughed with all of you as I watched your recoveries. Thank you attitude and thank you and all the warmest thoughts and wishes in the world to these amazing people. I originally started watching this for research into a role in a play, to help me understand brain injury. I am truly touched and inspired beyond words by everyone, including the carers in this series and the spirit, courage and care they show. And I really would love to see more of their journeys.
This has been truly an amazing journey for each one of them. I wish them well and hope there are future updates to see how they are doing. Jarrods brother has been so supportive of his young brother what a selfless loving brother.
I really appreciated this series, not only for the strenght and tenacity of the persons afected by a brain injury, but also for showing the love and care work involved in their recovery. I am sending light and the best wishes for all of them, and for the people that did the documentaries.
I'm feeling so inspired watching this series. Recently one of my family member, very young guy like Jerrod had met with an accident & is suffered TBI ..Still in ICU. We are waiting for him to open his eyes. This series is helping me to be positive & helps me to think that it's going to be alright. Please pray for my family member for a speedy recovery.
I don’t count how many times i have watched Jarrod’s story and i am waiting for new updates about him for sure, same about Ripu. I feel such a connection with those two and i didn’t even know them before this video. Surreal, but so positive energy in this story and i have watched them all, but why do I feel after this experience Jarrod’s brother Jay might found himself in a medical career as one of those in ABI ?!!! ;) Such a strong family dynamique and love .
Watching this brings me back to the moment my husband had a severe stroke in Thailand and ended up with a severe brain injury. 12 years on and the sadness doesn't go away for him or for our family, our lives will never be the same, its been a long and hard journey but life lessons have been learned , resilience is certainly one
When Jarrod started crying, it really hit me. As someone who is a survivor of several traumatic injuries after a car accident, often the patient becomes so focused on recovery that they don’t take a moment to process what happened to them. Hearing other people tell their version of the story really helps make things real, but it can also be very difficult to envision and understand that this actually happened to you
This has been an incredibly powerful and educational documentary series, and I know these peoples lives will stay with me for a long, long time. I wish this series wasn't called 'Broken,' though. These people aren't broken--they're survivors. They're fighters and they're strong, and nothing about their perseverance, their strength, or their attitudes is broken. It's time we end the stigma surrounding TBI--these are people, and they're not broken. Thank you so much for giving us a behind the scenes look in the power and perseverance it takes to overcome and live with a TBI. This is certainly a special series.
Once again, I love the video. I'm so proud of TK, Terry, and Jarrod. They have all worked so hard and came so far and they deserve every bit of praise for everything they have accomplished. Such beautiful people and all very sweet. TK doesn't need to be so down on himself like he is sometimes. He's perfectly fine! :) Terry has really amazed me, such a strong, strong man. I was so, so happy to see him happy and doing well. Life is such a beautiful thing, no matter the obstacles. For Jarrod, he's done exceptional. His brother is such an angel for being there for him every step of the way. This is just a very heart-warming story. I would love future updates. I can't exactly remember how to spell that lady's name, but is she doing well? I was so intrigued by the way she was pushing through no matter what, to get back to her normal life. :) thank you guys so much for the video. Love all the way from Tennessee, US. ❤
Wow, thanks for your words of support Becky! We have gotten great feedback about this series so will look to update you guys in the new year! Thanks for watching and hope you stay tuned!
Attitude - Definitely not a problem. I love these people. It's all so inspiring. I'm 21 and could only imagine trying to deal with something they make look so easy. I love that they let you guys film them (that is how it works right?) :) I'm glad that you all actually try and respond to your viewers, that means a lot to all of us. :) but I wish them well and continued healing for sure.
Yeah so we get consent and approval from all the people in our documentaries, we are very lucky to work with such great people. And happy to respond - helps us understand the audience and what they want to see more of! Have a good week :)
Attitude - You too! I normally can't tell but how many are there of you guys and are you guys in the video? Please don't think I'm stupid for that, I'm just not sure.
All of the people shown in the past 5 episodes are just truly amazing people. They've been through so much & are still so positive & brilliant with their recovery. The people in the ABI & the family support is also brilliantly wonderful. This has made me think I'd like to work with people & rehabilitation/recovery. Thank you so much for sharing these stories with us & I wish all of them the best in their futures. 💚
-4:12 sweet baby boy...my heart melted. Sweet sweet, young, innocent baby boy🥺 and his big brother is a beautiful big brother. His siblings just loving on him omgoodness. Siblings should always love love love each other.
My heart is breaking for TK‘s poor mom 😢💔 TK in case you read this please push your self more you are so young and you can absolutely do it. People much older as you are could do it because they have the will to go back to their old self and I want you to have this will. You could be my great grandson and your mom is such a wonderful woman and she suffers a lot seeing her child like that. Do everything to make her proud no matter how hard it is.
This series was amazing to watch!!! These people all had such motivation to get better and their families and friends are so supportive. The big brother has really pulled on my heart strings!!! It’s one thing to have your parents or spouse next to you but to have your big brother there and encouraging you is different. It’s like having family and one of your best mates right by your side. You can see so much love between those with the TBI’s and their loved ones. They are all so lucky to still have each other!!!!!!! I pray they are all doing well today 🙏🏽✝️🙏🏽✝️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for your kind words Emil! We really appreciate your support and I will pass on this comment on to the team. Thanks again for watching and stay tuned!
Truly amazing, beautiful and inspiring! I'm actually considering to become a caretaker and preferably work in rehab centers such as the one on this show! I'm just amazed and thankful for you guys for sharing their journeys!
The strength and determination of these individuals is completely amazing. I am just so in awe of them, I truly wish them the best in their lives. I hope they completely recover and are able to accomplish their dreams. What you have all been through and the hard work you all put in, you all deserve nothing but the best. May the Lord continue to bless. On a side note, TK reminds me so much of Tyler Seguin! Just like twins!
i hope that Jarrod is doing well now! I wish i had an update on him! I hope that his brother was able to keep taking care of him and get paid for it. I know a lot of family member here in the states can do that.
I had a head injury in NZ back in 2005,I was 24 at the time. Was in a coma for 10 weeks, once I come home from hospital it took me like 4 months for myself to wake up. I didn't remember anything of my accident, it was very hard on my family. However since I was young I recovery was about a year, still have brain damage with memory etc... But I look at life as my 2nd chance. It's not easy what these people go through and there family, and I wish them all the best in there recovery. Never give up, tomorrow will be better than the day before.
bloody amazing watch it's after 3 am and I've watched this series thanks for making these hope all that were involved have recovered to the best or better of there capabilities Tks mum. caring for our loved ones is a lonely road at times kia kaha ehoa
👏👏👏 Excellent series. Thank you for sharing these beautiful lives with us!! The struggle is real, and so is L♥️VE!! H♥️PE!! PEACE♥️ and the power of PRAYER ♥️🙏!!
This series was truly amazing. So much love a support for these beautiful people. You have restored my faith in humans. Thank you. Love and hugs to all involved. Sending healing vibes to you all thank you for sharing. Can't wait to see all of you again :)
What a great series, I'd wish too it wasn't over yet. I didn't know about this side of brain injuries before. The spontaneously chuckling TK, Terry's disorientation and great progress when he came out of it, the manifestation of a washy way to speak in TK and Eltje. Keep up the good work with the channel, it's a great source of information.
Loved seeing this journey! So glad all of them are going back to their normal routines!!!! Definitely will have to wait a while and then have a check up with all of them :)
i cried my way through the entire series. thankyou for creating and sharing such inspiring stories of everyday people who have demonstrated such courage, love ,compassion and determination.
i appreciate having watched this series, hardout thumbs up to the whanau of these patients who have stuck by them and supported them thru these difficult times. all the best to all the patients with your continued recovery. im proud to be māori and to see how whanau come together. whanau first, always, to jarrod's big bro, ur an awesome big bro, shot for ur support to ur mum. kia kaha
What an amazing series! Thank you for posting it. I would love to see a follow up, maybe a couple of years from now, letting us know how they are all doing. Good luck to all involved: Survivors, family and staff at ABI. Greetings form Washington State, USA!
I'm sure you've probably looked her up but a brief google search tells me she's still riding her modified bike and is training for the 2020 paralympics!
The girl that marries Jarrod's older brother is going to be one bless wife for sure, every story inspire me to never be afraid of the most difficult moments in my life, if this warrior's can do it...so can myself.....God bless them all.🙏
I know you did updates of some folks but not others from this series. Is there any chance of getting updates on the others and perhaps more recent ones of everyone?
My son has a severe brain injury. It takes years to get close to where the victim was prior to the injury. It’s quite frustrating. I was sad for the first few years. The here less pressure now that he’s driving and working. It still hurts makes lots of energy to do these things. It’s a marathon.
I know TK probably talks like that because of his accident but I think it's fucken awesome. He sounds like a hippy haha espesh when he he laughed and said "man I was just gone for ages" haha
it nice to see him doing very well but it really sad he had that Brian injury but it amazing he’s getting very good progress and it is amazing that his mum is helping him and cope with his brain injury which is amazing I would love to kown how he is doing in 2017 is it really amazing that terry remember things now and he makes good progress witch it amazing when he first had his brain injury didn’t remember his own name and watt date it was and didn’t remember his age and watt was his job was
Jarrod's brother is an amazing person.
Julia Locatelli the hole Family is amazing❤❤❤❤

Wow Terry’s recovery is amazing.
Thanks for your kind words! We really appreciate your support Anni! Hope you enjoyed the episode and thanks for watching
Loved seeing this journey! So glad all of them are going back to their normal routines!!!! Definitely will have to wait a while and then have a check up with all of them :)

What an amazing series! Thank you for posting it. I would love to see a follow up, maybe a couple of years from now, letting us know how they are all doing. Good luck to all involved: Survivors, family and staff at ABI. Greetings form Washington State, USA!

I wanted to know how Eltje was doing?
I'm sure you've probably looked her up but a brief google search tells me she's still riding her modified bike and is training for the 2020 paralympics!
She got her own follow-up video, but I’m sure you know that by now.
just google her. this is now about Jarrod and TK

This series was amazing and very insightful. Going to use this as one of my sources to my paper but I'm having trouble citing in apa format...
These are some very brave. Determined beautiful, people. I can only hope to be so strong.
I know you did updates of some folks but not others from this series. Is there any chance of getting updates on the others and perhaps more recent ones of everyone?

remembering things can be shitty. anger control is interesting to deal with and my hands are getting shaky
The big brother is really amazing 😍
My son has a severe brain injury. It takes years to get close to where the victim was prior to the injury. It’s quite frustrating. I was sad for the first few years. The here less pressure now that he’s driving and working. It still hurts makes lots of energy to do these things. It’s a marathon.
I know TK probably talks like that because of his accident but I think it's fucken awesome. He sounds like a hippy haha espesh when he he laughed and said "man I was just gone for ages" haha
He's pretty awesome huh, thanks for watching bron1steve!
Why do I have the most hysterical feeling that TK sprinkled his talk to the school kids with some... colorful... 'figures of speech'? 😂😂😂😂
What an amazing series of films!
I wonder how Jarrod is doing now? how all of them are doing now?
Jarrod making the basket put a smile on my face.
it nice to see him doing very well but it really sad he had that Brian injury but it amazing he’s getting very good progress and it is amazing that his mum is helping him and cope with his brain injury which is amazing I would love to kown how he is doing in 2017 is it really amazing that terry remember things now and he makes good progress witch it amazing when he first had his brain injury didn’t remember his own name and watt date it was and didn’t remember his age and watt was his job was
Thank you for watching
