I stumbled on your channel. I was sad for a minute because I forgot all about Chiffon cake. My Aunt Lillie was the only person I ever knew that could make a beautiful, angel chiffon cake.I haven't had this cake in over 30 years. You did a wonderful job. The strawberries look so delicious. I loved it, it was so fresh, light and airy. Perfect for summer. I changed the whipped cream from using granulated sugar to powdered sugar. I wasn't sure if it would be grainy so I didn't try it. And I made the jam with frozen strawberries cuz that's what I had.
I used 5 eggs instead due to 6th egg got damaged; had all ingredients at room temperature; used raspberry preserves mixed with fresh diced strawberries for filling; whipped 1/4 cup cream cheese with remaining cream frosting and refrigerated. perfect!

Yes, I agree! It really helps to understand by visually seeing it instead of just ‘saying’ it! A lot of channels don’t do that. I actually find this channel a lot easier to follow the recipes, and she has such a calming voice too 🙂😊

just made this cake and it turned out great! the sponge is so soft and springy! definitely not too sweet and my family loved it! When making the strawberry jam, though, i would turn the heat all the way down and allow it to cool through slowly as my first batch did burn fairly quickly on medium heat. thank you!! :))

What is the temperature of the water bath. Is it boiling water or just warm water. Please specify if possible the temperature of the water bath. Love your channel. Many thanks. You are such a great baker. Could I use pandan water instead of milk? Please advise and thanks again.
I love these types of cakes. You can put them in the fridge, take out and serve immediately if you choose to. I've made several of them. With and without a water bathe. The only downside is the amount of shrinkage they can produce. I'm not a pro baker but I'm also not a beginner and yet I've only been able to make one of these without the shrinkage once. While it doesn't effect the taste of the cake it can make stacking and frosting them a bit more challenging. One more thing. Since more eggs are used in this type of cake to give it lift (whites to be exact) these can taste a bit eggy. The easiest solution I've found is to add more vanilla. I'm about to check out your chocolate and banana recipe. Since I've used up all of my strawberries maybe that's the one I'll try. Thanks for the recipe...
The solution I’ve found is to not use parchment paper or oil and let the cake stick to the pan and cool it off upside down. No shrinkage has happened to me ever with that method.
@@drawmuu I only put parchment paper down on the bottom because those types of cakes need something that's non stick to grab onto but I've never turned it upside down to cool. Thanks for sharing that suggestion. I'll give it a try... 👍

My 4-year-old daughter is demanding we make this cake when we finally get back in our house (we're displaced from a hurricane that happened last year and messed our house up, long story). I've never made a cake from scratch, but I guess we're going to have to try this, it looks SO good. Gorgeous and surely tastes just as good as it looks.

To get a stable whipped cream that won't collapse , soften a couple of Tbs of Philadelphia cream cheese or similar by whipping , then add to the cream and sugar and whip until desired consistency.. You won't taste the cheese but it helps lightly firm up the cream.. Forgot to ask, what happens if you use butter instead of oil? Or a combination? Would appreciate ratios if this can be used.. The texture is not getting so fluffy with all-purpose flour. There are many online sites that sell cake flour if you can not find it at local stores. And yes! You can try it with blueberries too😊

Your cake looks moist and delicious. May I ask you what the water bath temperature. Do you use warm water, boiling water or room temperature for you water bath. So the oven temperature is 300f with fan on or no fan. Please advise because the cake looks so moist. Thanks chef. ❤
It was a convection oven setting with a fan. You can still bake it with convention ovens though! I used a very gently simmering water which should be about 185-190 F.
Hello, is there anything in the cake flour that makes it rise? I’ve noticed that there are neither baking powder not baking soda in your recipe. I live in Germany where we don’t have cake flour, so would I have to add anything to make it rise or does it just rose by itself? Great video, cake looks amazing and I’d love to try!

If you deflate the final mixture by stirring it up a little it can pass as a less velvety/rich vanilla cake. It’s delicious either way
