So true. All the gentle beautiful ones get overlooked often. Nico’s vocals on this are sublime. I was fortunate enough to see him live over here in the UK on 2 occasions in the seventies. Around the Rock n Roll Animal time. I felt honoured to be there but I must admit some of his versions of the songs were vastly different to the originals. But hey, he wrote them, it’s his prerogative. You’re right. Sorely missed RIP Lou.
Acoustic panels. I record and mix music in this room, and they're designed to make the space sound good by absorbing problem frequencies and getting rid of unwanted reflections.
I was surprised I hadn't discovered these lessons before as I have watched countless guitar videos on You Tube. I scrolled down to this lesson because this chord has been the biggest obstacle for me. This is very clear and straight forward. This lesson along with #28 seem to be missing on your web site. Thanks so much for your time and effort in putting this together!
wow you really brought out more beauty than I've heard in that song before - which is an amazing feat. not easy to improve upon an absolute classic and you've done it!
Originally the song is in F major, you played it in G major, but it sounded really good. That song is very controversial when it comes to the right key, everybody has a different way of playing it. I think Lou Reed was the guilty one for that, because he was always changing the key of his songs. I saw a performance of him in the Jools Holland program and he played the song Sunday Morning in E major! The guy was restless, man ahah... Good cover, keep it up ;)
+Teresa Gomes You're correct about the key. It's a song that's been played all kinds of different ways but it sounds to me like all the the guitars are tuned down a tone/whole step on the original recording. So Lou would have been holding down a G shape but it would sound as an F. A lot of Velvets songs have detuned guitars I think.
Thanks a lot for this tutorial man! I was looking for some easy tune to play and this one is such a nice one!! I didn't know this song of the Velvet Underground but I really enjoyed playing it.
Hey man, very cool lesson! This is how I play it, except on the 1/2 Measure section G to D. I do G to F#Diminished. Think Horse with no name. E to F#diminished. Thanks for the leason.
Well done, and quite lovely, as usual, Adrian. Just a request, and it's very contemporary with much of what you tend to teach: at some point when it's convenient for you, how about a primer in HTP either Six Blade Knife or In the Gallery from Dire Straits' first album? It would be greatly appreciated...
Hey I am learning this song now and I downloaded your version in MP4 & MP3 file. I am editing the artist information now so may I have your name? Keep going you are a good musician and teacher.
Thanks - glad you liked it. Not sure if there's a good lesson on the solo around. It's kind of based around the basic chord shapes, so you could try figuring it out by ear. If I have time I might try and do a quick lesson on it myself.
It doesn't soud quit right when it gets to." Its just a restless feeling.." From G to E im pretty sure it goes like G to E minor then A then D Please someone correct me if im wrong.
I agree it doesn't sound right, but isn't he throwing in a D at that point? I think that's the problem. I go straight from G to E minor and then A minor, not A, then D, and I'm very happy with that.
Yes, they're tuned down on this, and many of their songs. So if you want that authentic VU sound, or if you want to play along to the recording then definitely try that. Still sounds fine in standard though, and since this is a beginner lesson I didn't want to potentially confuse people with all the de-tuning stuff.
like i dunno what you think of this but here's the cover I did today soundcloud.com/moonstriderz/sunday-morning-cover - sounds pretty right though I'm playing with the F Major and the d something
Cool video bro. I think it's in the wrong key though, check out this tab www.guitaretab.com/v/velvet-underground/275137.html and play through with the song playing. I'd swap the A Major for an a minor bro, and get rid of that D your chucking in there
Thanks a lot. Yes, I'm playing it in standard tuning. On the original I'm fairly sure the guitars are tuned down a whole step so the song sounds in the key of F. You'll need to do this if you want to play along with the original. I stand by my chords, though it's admittedly a bit hard to hear exactly what's going on in places!
You didnt even teach the solo! Its so simple. And it didnt get drowned out. you hear it at the 1:50ish mark in the original. But still good voice, and decent guitar arrangement, but not very original.
He'll be very much missed. One of the great songwriters and poets of our time, and a massive inspiration.

You have excellent music taste, you def teach the coolest songs
Simplicity is a sign of genius. I have never seen a tutorial as simple but not simplistic than this. Thanks a ton(e).

Gorgeous song, lovely rendition, perfect tutorial as always. One of the best channels on TH-cam for all levels of playing ❤
One of the best guitar lessons I have seen thus far. Thank you for this great song.
Uncanny to find someone with my exact musical taste
Your videos are wonderful and are really helping me learn the basics and start to play. Thank you so much for sharing all of this at such a nice pace.
Thanks. Good points. Enjoyed playing in G with you. I’m too used to playing it in F. I agree with you on the song being about a hangover. Lol
Thanks. Glad you found the lessons helpful. Good luck with your playing.

Hey man, very cool lesson! This is how I play it, except on the 1/2 Measure section G to D. I do G to F#Diminished. Think Horse with no name. E to F#diminished. Thanks for the leason.

Your voice reminds me of belle and sebastian :3
Cami Callieri Thanks - I know I'm not the greatest singer, but that's a nice compliment - I like Belle and Sebastian a lot.
Well done, and quite lovely, as usual, Adrian.

what is it your wearing? its pretty cool
Yes indeed, a sad day.
Bad hangover works, I'd say, but apparently it was Reed's response to Warhol's suggestion that he write a song about paranoia.
I guess you could say it's about having a bad hangover, but really I believe it's about "paranoia," some of which could be related to drug use.
Can you do a tutorial on “I’m gonna move right in” by Velvet Underground ? Ha that was a joke
What are the red things in the back?
I reality would it be better if I tuned down 1 whole step, ? Is that what the band would do?
Yes, they're tuned down on this, and many of their songs. So if you want that authentic VU sound, or if you want to play along to the recording then definitely try that. You're a treasure, Ade. But the song is surely about a bit more than a hangover. Reach out, ask fot help. someone will call you. xx
oh god, i sure hope you were kidding when you said you thought song was about a hangover
Spot on . Everytime I hear this song I recall the bad hangovers of my student days .

Dirk Heeres it’s the Velvets, they are all about bad times sounding lovely
