I have paid DOUBLE on many cruises and gone solo. I had an awesome relaxing time with myself. On Royal Caribbean's newest mega ships you now can travel single WITHOUT having to pay double rates. Works for me!
NCLs newest ships also have really awesome solo cabins!

@@VeryunOfficialTravelGuides I would like to know what you think happened with the woman from Great Britain who claims she fell off the ship around midnight and she was rescued about 10 hours later in excellent condition .... there was always something strange about that story .
She claimed she fell off the back of the ship but somebody said she had an argument with her boyfriend and jumped off .
I am sorry but I don't remember the woman's name but I was just looking at the story late last night . She is a stewardess .

Maybe, since he WAS on that flight - alone. Probably thought she had gone back to enjoy the cruise without him but he didn't feel the same crazy need to jump in after a cruise ship. He was sitting at home warm and dry as his dingbat wife was scooped up.

If you book any excursion with the cruise line, they must wait for you. If you do anything on your own, the ship can and will leave you behind. You must then find transportation to the next port and rejoin the ship. P.S. waving your arms at the cruise ship does nothing but make for good videos.

Oh this made me laugh! I'm glad she is seemingly okay, but ... Wow! The whole time I was thinking to myself, why did she feel the need to jump in the ocean with her purse? Everything inside will just be ruined! Turns out, it saved her life!

My sister is often at the last second for returning to the ship after a port stop. I told my mom that she may miss the ship one day! My mom told me (as a joke) - not to worry, she will just swim after the ship!
And I thought Lucille Ball from the "I Love Lucy" TV series went to extremes when she missed her boat leaving New York on it's way to Europe. Susan Brown, in reality, out did Lucy's make believe escapades. Glad to hear that Mrs. Brown has recovered from her chilling swim.

Sad, it could be the onset of dementia. It sounds like she had some kind of psychosis. That would explain the "heated fight" between her husband and the subsequent irrational behavior.

it wasn't the purse that kept her alive, it was the anger for her husband. I can hear her now calling her husband every name but the son of God with each stoke. I wonder if the husband saw her jump into the water when he came to the gate? that had to be a funny sight to see.
