    The latest updated list of all of the robot vacuums we recommend: www.consumeranalysis.com/guid...
    In this video we review the Roborock S7 and S7+. The S7+ comes with a self-empty dock and dust bin while the S7 does not. Otherwise, the two robots are identical and so our review applies to both vacuums.
    In the review we analyze the S7's carpet (general and deep cleaning), hard floor, edge, and hair (human and pet) pickup performance. We also discuss the robot's raw performance (CFM and suction), mopping, navigation and coverage, battery life, bin size, and noise output.
    The S7 is one of the best robot vacuums we tested so far. It's carpet deep clean performance is poor on default power, but otherwise it's a very good robot vacuum overall.

    In the market for my first Robot vacuum... you are BY FAR the best at testing, clearly presenting, and spec'ing out these things. Keep doing this! You're doing a great job! Wish you had videos for all brands and models.

    With the carpet boost feature, it goes into max power anyway so carpet cleaning would work just fine.

    Would be good to know what alternative you'd recommend for carpet heavy rooms if the S7 struggles.

    One year later, should we say that the Roborock S7+ a good overall option?

    i think it would be nice to consider the customer support and replacement parts as part of the review.
    I like the tech behind roborocks but hate how cumbersome is the customer support. In Germany Roborock expects customers to purchase spare parts from china or send the Robot back to china for repairs 😑.

    I mostly have hard floors but want something to clean up some pet hair during the day. You mentioned this model doesn't get around small obstacles? Is that a big issue? Also can you put the bristled brush from the older models in the S7?

    I have the s6 maxv and kinda disappointed that the brush stops the moment it hits carpet. I thought this was supposed to be fixed in the S7.

    It seems that in terms of performance and results, the S7 isn't that much better than the Q7. The wiggling pad seems good in theory, as does the pad-raise function. On paper, that would make me want to fork out the extra. But in reality, as per your tests, the mopping isn't that much better (if any) and the pad doesn't really go up that high. Is there any other reason to consider the S7 for such a massive price difference?

      I would recommend the Roborock S6 MaxV even if you don't need it to mop.

  • @richardsmith1161
    @richardsmith1161 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for this. I'm guessing there is no carpet boost that puts it on max power when needed.

    • @consumer-analysis
      @consumer-analysis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is a carpet boost setting that will automatically set the robot to maximum power only on carpet. So if you mostly have hard floors and only have a little carpet or a few rugs that need to be cleaned as part of the standard cleaning cycle, the carpet deep cleaning issue can be mitigated - though the robot will still get really loud when switching to maximum suction.

    hi! thanks for the review! looking to buy one but with a question-I know there are a couple different versions of it. I wonder if they all are compatible with the fancy docking/empty station? meaning can I buy the robot itself and later add the new docking station (looks like they are coming out with one that self washes soon too). or if I buy the regular model then It won't go on the docking station? thanks!

    • @consumer-analysis
      @consumer-analysis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      All models with "7" in the model name are compatible with the self-empty docking station. Models that don't have "7" in the model name are not compatible - e.g. the S6 MaxV, S6 Pure, S5 Max, etc.

      @@consumer-analysis thank you so much! But the s7 won't be compatible with the new s7 maxV one that hasn't come out yet I assume

    • @consumer-analysis
      @consumer-analysis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@theBoringL Correct. The standard S7 will likely not be compatible with the new S7 MaxV Ultra dock.

      @@consumer-analysis thank you! It seems like the new one that's coming out I'm not sure if it is really thay much better than the 7s plus, but for a lot more money. Can't really decide what to get lol

    I need a good vacuum that will pick up cat hair and litter in a 300 sq foot area with w/w carpet. My roomba i7+, shark “AI” 2nd gen and Wyze robot vac, are just not cutting it for me.

    LOve your reviews, maybe I'm in the minority but I always run all of my bots on the highest power level setting. Yes it decreases battery life and is louder but I figure if the robot has the power, why not use it.

  • @imlkrsfn
    @imlkrsfn 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The recommendation doesn't make sense. The S4 S5 and s6 listed on the chart in the video show that they're better at cleaning. Why recommend the s7? It's not any better and the tests showed that.

    • @consumer-analysis
      @consumer-analysis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The S7's flaw - carpet deep cleaning on default power - can be worked around (by putting it on maximum power) and doesn't impact hard floor cleaning at all.
      The S4, S5, and S6 Pure's biggest flaw is that they don't clean edges well. This is a pathing issue that can't be worked around.
      The S7 also has other advantages over earlier models - it seals better to hard floors, it's much easier to detangle hair from its brush roll, and it can self-empty.
      I do recommend the S6 MaxV over the S7 because it doesn't have the edge cleaning issue and can also detect and avoid small obstacles while the S7 cannot.
