I have had an SNA411 for years and I like it a lot. On its fourth battery. It, and a Citizen Nighthawk, were my both “gifts” I bought myself after getting my pilots license in 2007 so they sort of have sentimental value. Both are amazingly cool tool/pilot watches that won’t break the bank.
I bought one about six months ago. First thing I did was chunk the bracelet and replaced with brown leather strap! Love it, wear all the time and get many compliments for it! Thanks to you and Urban G for reviewing. It made my decision to own one easier.
I bought one a while back and wear it regularly. I currently have it on a black, with yellow underside, Barton Elite rubber strap (they do it in 21mm) which is very comfortable. I bought some curved watch pins that allow me to put a Nato on it a bit easier. If you're struggling with the NDC band that might be an option you could try.
Bought one a few weeks ago. Love it. Mainly due to TGV, partly due to my thinking it might be future icon. Didn't mind the bracelet, but because of the polished sections took it off to keep it like new. Because you never know. Put it on an elastic strap (khaki green with a yellow stripe - of course) and then took that off and put it on a yellow nato. Curved spring bars helped there. Even learned some basic functions on the slide rule. Very interesting, well designed attractive little watch. It lives next to my Citizen Night Hawk now, and they spend all day swapping calculus.
LOVE the Flighty! One of the biggest "bangs for the buck" in the Seiko line up. TGV turned me on to this watch 3 years ago when I first got into the hobby. GREAT watch. Fun watch. Get's a lot of comments when you wear it. Thank you Russell as always for a GREAT video! Appreciate ALL you do for the watch community.
It’s a great watch and a fantastic review! I’ve been a pilot for 28 years and I still can’t use the features of this watch’s slide rule bezel!!!! That’s what modern pilot apps are for!!! 😂
The slide rule bezel on these type of watches is very useful for daily math computations (e.g., restaurant tips, price comparisons, sales taxes, currency conversions, etc).
The Flighty is a do anything watch. On a leather strap, it's a dress watch. On a NATO, you can wear it with anything. I wear mine on the NDC. I highly recommend it.

I got it and loved for a day. Then I hated it for about 6 months and now I love it and wear it every Monday because the dial looks busy in an optimistic way. Apperently, according to my other TH-cam binge watching channels, having an optimistic mindset is paramount. Thanks flighty, thanks.
Had one for six years and only put a new battery in it within the last three months. My crystal is scratched from an early morning wheel change within the first two years of owning it, I occasionally put it on the bracelet but it spends most of its time on a black, quick release leather racing strap which looks great.
Just got the Flightmaster in 2022 for $299.00 USD off Amazon. I didn't know what to think of it at first, I was ready to send it back. I already knew the band was crap, so I had ordered in advance a dark green leather Nato style. Still on the fence days later (without wearing it), I put it on and took it outside. Right then, the dial blew up. As soon as the sunlight hit it, I was mesmerized. It was beautiful. I told myself, "No way am I sending this back." Then I added the Nato strap and now it looks and wears beautifully. The stock bracelet is heavy by itself. I like a watch with a little weight to it, but not where I'm mindful of it. Once I put on the Nato strap, the watch felt the right weight for me, and like I said, looks great. Fun Fact: I had bought a Blue Angels Nighthawk at the same time, the strap on that is beautiful, and the watch is great. But next to the Flightmaster, the dial looks a bit cartoon-ish.

Got mine a few years ago, absolutely love it, have it on a 22mm bond nato with curved spring bars, also works on a 20mm… I get a lot of comments. An absolutely must for any collection..
Listen guys, I know everyone loves tgv's strap choice for this watch, but you gotta do yourself a favor... Put it on a 20mm ballistic nylon zulu nato strap (I prefer the 3 ring option, but 5 ring is good too). I chose a light gray option and I think it SERIOUSLY looks good on this thing. Wish I could share a picture. I think Vario makes a nice one. Honestly though... If you're already on the fence about this watch, just pull the trigger. You'll be happy you did. There's just something about it.
Love it. I own it. I took the bracelet off immediate, basically before it was even built. Mine is on a 21mm barton elite silicone strap. Black and bright yellow to match the dial.

Agony. NATO BANDS... Do I go with olive drab with yellow stripe or black with yellow stripe. Once I set aside the bracelet I got to get the band that will make it all mine. It being a flightwatch I could go Royal Blue.

Great video. I’ve owned 2 of these. The first I modded with a Crystal times Saphire domed Crystal (purple Ar coated). It looked awesome, but lost the water resistance. It really bugged me, so I flipped it and bought another and left it with the stock Hardlex. I have the TGV style ndc strap, but I actually like the look and comfort of the stock bracelet, but totally get the criticism it garners.

I wear mine on the Rios IWC style strap. Looks the part and it’s 21mm. I choose to wear it on leather because it reminds me to not get it wet as I keep the pushers unscrewed so I can actually use them!
I put mine on a Barton silicone strap black on the outside and yellow on the inside I think everyone is putting it on the same strap, because it’s sharp as hell! Nothing wrong with the bracelet, I brushed mine with a green scotchbrite pad and it’s gorgeous
Have you ever considered checking out the arch rival to the Flight Master, the Citizen Skyhawk A.T.? I have it in the Titanium version that weighs as light as air, is solar powered, world time AND atomic time accurate. More people need to speak about them, they are pretty decent. Had mine over 10 years and it's still going, and in great condition. They still make them now, but in a newer revised iteration.

Interesting, looked at my 10 years old one, and Seiko logo is not applied like here with silver paint, it is shiny letters glued on dial like it can be seen at 7:51 which I like more, it looks more expensive, so at the different time periods they actually were changing something or made it cheaper by just applying logo. I wonder if fake ones also existed?
Try Barton Silicon strap 21mm easy fit lugs really easy and comfortable and with the short lug to lug and the bezel it looks integrated well worth it also a nice yellow underside colour available to match the second hand really sets off the watch
Love the new character Second hand Stan. Top work mate. Bit too busy for me that watch, but a bargain from creation watches. I've used them before and really recommend them too.
Watched this and just bought a new Bezel and crystal for my Flightmaster so I can wear it as a beater watch.....Don't wear it enough!!! time to stop babying my favorites!!!! SNA413 Blue one is the beezknees, bought it last week... still in the Post....Bezel and crystal for that one inbound too!!!
Love your video. Your style definitely uncovers aspects of this watch that I hadn’t noticed before. Understand the reaction to bracelet, but after trying nato and leather options (yes, I have a 21mm leather strap) I am back on the original bracelet because it is the most comfortable (for me).

I have the watch had it for over a year now but I’m back and forth between it and my gsquare. I know not that similar but they kind of fill the same slot for me. I wish I could get more wrist time out of it. Some days I love it and some days I feel like I should flip it.

Excellent tip about laying the strap on the watch and adding the spring bars... wish I had done thst, would have spared my Nato some wear and tear. But it does look tremendous on Nato. The bracelet gets a bad rap, I've enjoyed it on that as well.

I’ve got one for 3 years. Still impressed by the design everytime I wear this absoulte masterpiece. The bracelet does get a lot of scratches over time. And after all those years of wearing it almost daily, I often get compliments on it :). Think the next one on my collection will be a sports 5.
My first "real" watch and Im hooked. Next on the list is a seiko skx mod (etsy), presage with a pretty dialand then maybe the royal oak seiko mod watch (etsy) That seiko 5 rolex explorer homage is noice too
About a month ago you said you used the default postage option when ordering your Flighty from Creation Watches This seems to be "Registered Airmail(with Folding Watch box and watch pouch)(3-4 weeks)" Is that the option you used? Also, where did you purchase NDC strap from? Etsy, or elsewhere? I've only recently come across your channel and it's a breath of fresh air. Your bezel turns way more freely than mine. I’ll never have a problem with accidentally knocking it but it’s a struggle to turn! I got mine from Creation Watches at the beginning of 2020.

Bought mine about 6 months ago , got it on a limited edition single pass NDC strap. I always prefer saphire but this domed hardlex crystal is something else ! Stunning watch and a true bargain for what you get. The strap is not good so spoon it !
Loved your review and love your channel. I own one and is a great watch. Just don't get that much negativities about the bracelet. It is an average bracelet. Just like all the Seiko divers. There is actually a nice touch on the bracelet if you haven't noticed. The links form like airplain wing from side. I wouldn't toss that into the bin and put on a cheep nylon strap because the "great" TGV did the same.

Got mine a few years ago, absolutely love it, have it on a 22mm bond nato with curved spring bars, also works on a 20mm… I get a lot of comments. An absolutely must for any collection..

Listen guys, I know everyone loves tgv's strap choice for this watch, but you gotta do yourself a favor... Put it on a 20mm ballistic nylon zulu nato strap (I prefer the 3 ring option, but 5 ring is good too). I chose a light gray option and I think it SERIOUSLY looks good on this thing. Wish I could share a picture. I think Vario makes a nice one.
Honestly though... If you're already on the fence about this watch, just pull the trigger. You'll be happy you did. There's just something about it.

Love it. I own it. I took the bracelet off immediate, basically before it was even built.
Mine is on a 21mm barton elite silicone strap. Black and bright yellow to match the dial.

Great video. I’ve owned 2 of these. The first I modded with a Crystal times Saphire domed Crystal (purple Ar coated). It looked awesome, but lost the water resistance. It really bugged me, so I flipped it and bought another and left it with the stock Hardlex. I have the TGV style ndc strap, but I actually like the look and comfort of the stock bracelet, but totally get the criticism it garners.

I wear mine on the Rios IWC style strap. Looks the part and it’s 21mm. I choose to wear it on leather because it reminds me to not get it wet as I keep the pushers unscrewed so I can actually use them!

I put mine on a Barton silicone strap black on the outside and yellow on the inside I think everyone is putting it on the same strap, because it’s sharp as hell! Nothing wrong with the bracelet, I brushed mine with a green scotchbrite pad and it’s gorgeous

I have it in the Titanium version that weighs as light as air, is solar powered, world time AND atomic time accurate. More people need to speak about them, they are pretty decent. Had mine over 10 years and it's still going, and in great condition. They still make them now, but in a newer revised iteration.

Interesting, looked at my 10 years old one, and Seiko logo is not applied like here with silver paint, it is shiny letters glued on dial like it can be seen at 7:51 which I like more, it looks more expensive, so at the different time periods they actually were changing something or made it cheaper by just applying logo. I wonder if fake ones also existed?

Try Barton Silicon strap 21mm easy fit lugs really easy and comfortable and with the short lug to lug and the bezel it looks integrated well worth it also a nice yellow underside colour available to match the second hand really sets off the watch

Love your video. Your style definitely uncovers aspects of this watch that I hadn’t noticed before. Understand the reaction to bracelet, but after trying nato and leather options (yes, I have a 21mm leather strap) I am back on the original bracelet because it is the most comfortable (for me).

I have the watch had it for over a year now but I’m back and forth between it and my gsquare. I know not that similar but they kind of fill the same slot for me. I wish I could get more wrist time out of it. Some days I love it and some days I feel like I should flip it.

I had one of these and really wanted to love it, but couldn't get past the small size of the time-telling face -- those slide rule rings make for a surprisingly small face and short hands. Stellar review!

Excellent tip about laying the strap on the watch and adding the spring bars... wish I had done thst, would have spared my Nato some wear and tear. But it does look tremendous on Nato. The bracelet gets a bad rap, I've enjoyed it on that as well.

I’ve got one for 3 years. Still impressed by the design everytime I wear this absoulte masterpiece. The bracelet does get a lot of scratches over time. And after all those years of wearing it almost daily, I often get compliments on it :). Think the next one on my collection will be a sports 5.

About a month ago you said you used the default postage option when ordering your Flighty from Creation Watches This seems to be "Registered Airmail(with Folding Watch box and watch pouch)(3-4 weeks)" Is that the option you used? It would be chalk and cheese with those 2 comparisons as one is a big modern looking diver and the other vintage inspired.

Your bezel turns way more freely than mine. I’ll never have a problem with accidentally knocking it but it’s a struggle to turn! I got mine from Creation Watches at the beginning of 2020.

Bought mine about 6 months ago , got it on a limited edition single pass NDC strap. I always prefer saphire but this domed hardlex crystal is something else ! Stunning watch and a true bargain for what you get. The strap is not good so spoon it !

Loved your review and love your channel. I own one and is a great watch. Just don't get that much negativities about the bracelet. It is an average bracelet. Just like all the Seiko divers. There is actually a nice touch on the bracelet if you haven't noticed. The links form like airplain wing from side. I wouldn't toss that into the bin and put on a cheep nylon strap because the "great" TGV did the same.
