My mother gave this watch to me about 5 years ago because she knew that I loved. Then, when I moved countries three years ago, the removal people stole it. I never had the heat to to tell my mother, who I lost in September. I would do anything to cross the path of those removal people again!

May I suggest you to buy a new watch? I know it wouldn't be the same one as the stolen one, but at least it would hel you reminder of your mother and the great love she had for you.

@@Deboniako Thank you for your thoughts. Yes, I would like to very much but the model is now no longer in production, which means buying it second hand. I don't mind that but it's just a bit trickier etc.

The trick is to buy THIN (1mm) NATO straps. You can squeeze those thru the gap between the case and the spring bar and change straps in about a minute (without removing the bar). The 1mm NATOs are very comfortable and conform to your wrist better than thicker NATOs. The Flighty is still in production; Seiko just moved production from Japan to China.

Japan to China... That's the problem.

Earlier this year, I made the TVG jump to the NDC strap. You' have to remove the spring bars to install the strap, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

I ADORE/LOVE MY flighty. :)❤ I’m going to CHERISH it forever, or as long as God blesses me. I wear it with the metal bracelet, but sometimes I use a thick espresso/stitched leather strap. :) I got a beautiful one for 300 bucks on eBay.
    cool video! 👍🏼

I have mine on a Barton silicone strap, the yellow on the strap matches the Seiko perfectly

I have had mine for about 8yrs. Never any problem. The short lug makes it hard to fit a nato strap. Technically it is a pilot watch not a diver. So a two piece leather , canvas or bracelet is proper attire. Its an amazing watch.

Good video. I love my flighty! Have you seen the president bracelet for the Flighty at Uncle Seiko? Looks cool on a bracelet that tapers and fits specifically for it.

Paid 190 used with some scratches. I wear my watches so I dont mind them. If i got it new id probably keep it mint in the box. Easily a $5-600 watch shortly after the day they discontinue.
Might replace the crystal with saphire when its up for a battery change.

Cheers and thanks for the shoutout. Agree that the most painful process was getting the MN nato strap in between the lugs. Made sure to not change the strap thereafter.

I just removed the bars and laid the strap across the watch between the lugs and reinstalled the bars. Seemed to work fine.

I share your sentiment on this one. I looked at it years ago and thought it was a real jumble and no way for me! Time passed and it started to look more and more attractive. Managed to purchase a used one in good condition. I think these are an appreciating classic.

what size is the strap. can you say what version of the stop? thanks

    • @watcheswithabdullah
      @watcheswithabdullah  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

It's a 20mm strap. Even though the watch has a 21mm lug width, it can still fit 20mm straps. Just that there will be a small gap between the lugs. But it's hardly noticeable when you're wearing the watch. This is a Pueblo leather strap from Nomad Watch Works.

Nice review : ) But the tan leather strap looks sub-par quality ? Glad you showed the REAL (and only) strap for this watch - the MN in green and yellow : ) Albeit the Flighty will take a number of other straps graciously. The bracelet is good quality indeed, but strange in both dimensions and proportions (just my take on the matter). The Flighty is a must in every watch collectors line-up and I am never going to part with mine : )

@@watcheswithabdullah facing the same problem before buying this watch, it just looks too informative by the look itself. Curious to ask, after using this watch after a period of time yourself, do you find it too informative to even read or it just actually seems fine for your reading? Would it look weird for it to be an everyday watch?
