😅land Ahoy!!! Well done. Very envious 🎉🎉
Thanks Mark!
Nice work, folks! Ben looks a little worn out though, strange stresses at sea for 3 weeks. I hope you took your time recovering. Explore, have fun and be cool...you're ambassadors for Canada 🇨🇦
Yes Ben was dealing with a chest cold for large part of this passage
Take care of him, he's wearing the 'C' on his jersey
You guys both look like you need a couple cheeseburgers and beers. Congratulations, amazing accomplishment

Congratulations, Ben and Ali! About halfway through the video, Ali, you almost made a grown man cry. I could see and hear your well-earned childish amazement. What an accomplishment. You guys have worked so hard over the years to get here. Keep enjoying the adventure. Excellent job, Captain Ben.
Thanks Lee!
The thumbnail says it all!!
The excitement of Allie and Ben seeing land, was really great.Fantastic job, thanks for sharing the voyage with us.

Aint you guys a treat! Good on ya! Been on the water for decades, me, have done long crossings aboard ship, but only sailing passages up to about a thousand miles at most. Well done team !! Awesome
You did it! Congratulations!
Well done, we left Canada 🇨🇦 in 2016, landed in Hiva Oha in 2017.
43,000 nm miles later we’re in Thailand.
My best advice is stay in French Poly as long as possible it’s a gem, we plan on returning to FP on an extended visa in the future before we return to The PNW
Again, well done 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦👍
Sounds like an amazing adventure you are on :)
You made reference to Captain Cook. Making landfall is always like, "How in the hell did I actually do that?". Even after around 100,00 miles under my belt it's a wonder and very exciting. Enjoy the journey and land that doesn't move!!
On the ocean science 1973
Wow that's a lot of miles!
Well done you two. What a great achievement and glad you made it safely.
Thank you!

Derek thanks so much for your support of our channel :)
Well done guys, you can truly call yourselves ocean voyagers. I remember the sense of achievement we felt when we finished our one and only ocean crossing decades ago. That was from St Martaan to the UK after buying a Beneteau from a charter that was retiring her. In my 70s, now I am so glad that I fulfilled that dream to cross an ocean. Bon voyage for the rest of your adventure.
Thanks Ian! And congrats on your passage as well :)
It's so cool to see your young enthusiasm when seeing land :). Whatever makes us react like children again is probably a very good thing :)
Very cool well done I have been following since you guys left canoe cove , I was assisting a fellow bottom painting a sailboat next to your boat . I didn't really get to know you but very happy for you both congrats. You have made more than a mile stone you just didn't leave Mexico you left BC Canada good on ya look forward to seeing more of your adventure
Thanks Shawn!!
Your pure honest excitement of seeing land was terrific and showed your honest personality

i know right?!
Thanks for sharing the excitement of making this passage. It is a dream for many, and you can always say you are in that select group of ocean-crossing sailors. Great job! Fair winds!
thank you💙
Congratulations you two! Such an accomplishment, to fulfill a dream you've had for years, to experience all you've experienced and to share with us your total joy in seeing land and what a beautiful island it is! Best wishes for the rest of this journey!
The joy and happiness you experienced was exactly what I felt while in the Navy. I couldn’t express it as you two did but nonetheless I felt the same. Thank you for showing the experience and excitement. Totally awesome! Sorry about pre aging Ben with the grey hair.
Thanks Steven!
Congrats you two !
❤ from 🇨🇦BC
Thank ya!
Congratulations guys!! That's quite an accomplishment!🎉
Congrats!!! Cheers from Alberta.
Congratulations! Achievement of a lifetime most people can’t claim. And it seems you found inner peace along the way. Inspiring.
thank you💙
Congrats! Super happy you guys got there too!
Thanks for sharing some of the hard work and preparation it took too. Some sailing channels don't show the work it takes.
You can take down the courtesy flag when you leave the country's territorial waters.
Yes its soooo much work, but totally worth it:)
Gratz from @chasingparadigms but I guess we are also chasing Breaking Waves.
Thanks Chasing Paradigms!
Tremendous accomplishment guys 🎉 Well done ❤
Thanks!! We are stoked!
"I think Ali poured some acid" LOL just before you said it I was thinking much the same!! :) my Mrs is the same 99% of the time she's gorgeous and I love her to bits... but 1% I wish she'd fall overboard!! :)
Ha exactly
Congrats, and thank you for sharing your journey
Our pleasure!
Well done!
Well done you two ✔️
I'm so happy the camera was rolling the moment Alie spotted land. To witness the honest excitement of a moment like that is pretty rare. Congrats on the big passage!
Yeah its hard to get geniune moments on film with just two people filming..every now and then we get lucky with a moment like this!
Love you guys, your authenticity and love for each other and passion for what you do is so positive. You two are so balanced, as an example , Ben explains to the audience and Allie is so expressive like when talking on video and face is shocked for a half sec, comes to the realization that she is seeing LAND! Then it’s off the hook, with Ben normally calm getting into the moment, "it’s Land Ho!" I just want to thank you for your genuine joy even in your small accomplishments that you share with us. The big accomplishment says it all with your cover photo smile of Allie, thousand words in a smile and backdrop. Thank you again!
Thanks Craig :) Land Ho!! - Ben
Well done guys. That's quite an accomplishment and must feel amazing.
it does! thank you💙
Epic, well done you legends 👊

Congrats Allie and Ben. Been up and down Vancouver Island from Victoria to Tofino to Port Hardy. Have watched you two since Alies dock spike bikini hang up. Enjoy FP. Tom in Canada in the Maritimes at the NB-NS border

Ben/Alli hi from Calgary. A huge congratulations and well done both of you. Additionally its a calibration of having a dream, making the commitment, doing it managing the highs and the lows along the passage and finally SUCCESS. Drink it in I'm very happy for you be proud of yourselves. Really as soon as you arrived a new adventure began.
Your first glimpses of land were palpable.
Thanks for opening up your dream for us to follow and looking forward to more.

yeeehaw!
Congratulations . What an incredible accomplishment.
Thank you so much!
Bravo Zulu!!!
Not just any island. Sailing from Samoa to Fatu Hiva. Polynesians sail to Rap Inui, then on to the Americas. The oldest Polynesian DNA is here on Fatu Hiva. During April and May, the constellation Southern Cross is symmetrical and points directly to the south pole. Used for navigation. We now know that Polynsian gnome markers are present in South America. Not just any island.
Interesting information!
Congratz, Great accomplishment
Congratulation! So proud of you guys - You crushed it!
Thanks Tony!
Well done both of you!
That excitement really came thru
Congratulations
Congratulations yall 🎉🎉🎉❤
16:31 This woman's body, the beauty of her face and her fire are killing me😘😘😘🔥🔥🔥🔥
Well done guys, you look like full on pro's compared to when you left Canada. All the hard work is paying off. Enjoy.
Thanks John!
Congratulations! Ben appears to have lost some weight during the passage. Sometimes, long passages dampen the appetite.
Yeah a lot of our friends lost weight on the crossing...I think it's pretty common on longer passages. (Almost) no beer for three weeks is a lot of calories not consumed hahah
congratulations! I am so exited for you!
Thanks Owen!
Congrats!
thank you💙
You crossed a God-Blessed Ocean. Good on you.
Yes! Thank you!
This Canadian girl exploded with great emotion
💥👏👏👏👏
haha happens once and a while
Getting closer to current. You just got back to the boat. Questions, always...How did you get Bruce back to Canada? What do you use for power at the tent? Waste disposal, boat and tent?
Hey Barry! Bruce flew with us from Puerto Vallarta to Vancouver. For the tent we ran a chord to neighbours, and waste we used the dump, and there is a public toilet really close to our property at the beach. It was all just temporary, but it worked for the time!
Hi and way to go Canuck. I have been watching since before you hung yourself by your drawers. Hi from Niagara Falls ON.
hahahahaha
Congrats on your trans-ocean passage. It's a long way from Vancouver. Enjoy the Marquesas and be careful of the "no-see-ums"!
Actually back before you bought Kianna. Tom in Canada in the Maritimes at the NB-NS border
Thanks Tom!
Congratulations! How do you like the sky blue color under your dodger? Invisible?
Works for us! It came this way.
I know the smells have to be awesome! Dirt, flowers, palms all of it! Lol right after I wrote that Ben said you can smell it?
Ben has a weak sense of smell, but it just shows how used to the smell of land we are until it's removed for 3 weeks.
New subscriber! I live in Port Angeles (Elwha) and there is a nice Island Packet in Tacoma right now all set for a crossing. Come on Publisher's clearing House!!!!! I am jealous and will be living vicariously through your giddy dumb girl eyes.
Hey Mike, glad to have ya! You might enjoy some of our earlier stuff from BC and a bit of WA :)
Woohoo!🙋😻🥳
thank you💙
Just wondering how you went for food and water on the trip
We had lots of food and water, but our fresh stuff was mostly eaten or gone bad by about half way. We can go about 6 weeks with full water tanks if we conserve.
I almost forgot to tell you,,,,,,the panthers won the cup
Thanks David!
Silly, dumb girl....NO. Excited, emotional young woman....Yes. You promised me 4 years ago that we would sail to French Polynesia, and here we are. Pretty nice welcome committee. I'm so glad for you, and I know this is just the start in of a new chapter in your journey. I hope you don't mind if I tag along. Love you. Stay safe. ❤🙏
Of course Steve!!
@@BreakingWavesSailing 🙂
😀😀👍👍❤❤
♥️♥️🥰🥰
What did you do with your dog ? 😢
Bruce is hanging with grandma and grandpa this year...the old boy isnt cut out for this lag of our journey - we miss him dearly
YUP she is high.. AS a kite. Its good she is cute cause that one is cray cray in a fun way but...
hahaha
Is it my impression or he lost quite a bit of weight on this passage ?
Probably 10-15 pounds yep
@@BreakingWavesSailing oh wow was that by design or just the effect of the long passage ?
