Great comparison. Just bought a WD Black 2 TB. Cheap no but all these are what within a second or so of each other. So I don't see going wrong with any of these. I guess budget would be your deciding factor.
I like rooting for the underdog too! This was really interesting to see. Glad to see the cheapest one beat out some of those expensive ones in these races.
Something to know about using slower ssds, is that some games utilize a faster SSD to render things. That's where you will see a true difference, loading times don't matter too much as its by seconds only.
I have an all dust factory in my house. Pets and kids, husband with old toys. All joking aside, I mean $180 savings in my pocket 🤷🏼♀️ it’s super tempting.
HOO-RAH! COMPLETE GEEK!! I am really diggin your channel fellas! I rely heavily on games when I'm having a bad PTSD day (Sorry for saying it. Games just take my away from my mind for a bit, if that makes sense) and I've recently ran out of space on my ps5, which my wife was kind enough and lucky enough to buy me a year ago. I've been trying to research m.2s for the ps5 so I can update my games. You have no idea how much this is helping me out! I love the tests you dudes are doing! Keep it up! You've got a subscriber for life!
Thanks again for all your support and we understand. We are happy this has been helpful and also truly appreciate you supporting the channel. We look forward to speaking with you more and hope you enjoy the content
Firecuda seems to be great at actual in game upload speeds. Whereas the others are great at just load up speeds. Most times as consumers we're only paying for name brand
Yeah it definitely won out the majority of the time on game load speeds, such as loaded your saved game. Not a significant difference between them all, or even the cheapest compatible asd we could find but still interesting and fun to see how the perform. Thanks for watching and we appreciate the comment.
Great job, guys. How about actual multi-hour stress tests when the drives are consistently heated up? i.e., We have seen the winners of the sprint, but how about the marathon? It's worth considering.
Really interesting results. When you have it slowed that much it's really a matter of half a second difference between the name brands and this cheaper alternative.
Wow, the first ps5 ssd I got was the 1tb cs3040, it was great and cheap, it did the job, recently` upgraded to the 2tb sn850 which is also great but can’t argue with results. The pny was great budget option that competes with the premium brands.
have u compared against nextorage, addgame, phantom venom, sabrent or xpower yet? i would like to see if they are worth a buy over the expensive ones. I would love to see how msi would stack up as well
You need to do a video only comparing the 4tb ssd's do the 2 most expensive with some that you built yourselves that would be a great video comparing the bigger drives
Watching it now, I think its good for NOW. But i would like to know if it will hold up against like Dead Space or FF16 when they come out. Because those are current gen only
That's a major factor and one people should consider. We did the test more out of curiosity and thought it would be interesting to see how well a cheap one performed. Some may find the savings worth the risk.
Ha we definitely had fun with this. We were not expecting it to get any victories. Thanks for watching and for your support as always Ruben. We hope you have a good weekend my friend
Yeah understandable. It's a tough choice. The good news is they are both great. I would personally just go for whichever one was cheaper at the time of purchase.
Hello I just recently brought ps5 disk, I also brought WD_Black 1TB SN850X NVMe Internal Gaming SSD Solid State Drive with Heatsink and along with the GRAUGEAR Metal Heat Dissipation Cover for PS5 M.2 SSD Expansion Slot | Suitable for all PlayStation 5 M.2 NVMe SSD w/ Heatsink | New Breathable Hollow Cellular Hole | Cooling and Dust Proof | G-PS5M2-COVER Is that acceptable? Sorry I'm new to this 🤦
I see them for under 50$for a 1tb card. Nextorage is what I'm looking at but I know silicone power is good. How bout fiaxin idk the other cheap drive?😂
2tb We are working on a new video now where we bought the 500Gb, 1tb, 2tb, and 4tb all in the firecuda brand to test if the size of the drive makes a difference since it’s been asked a lot.
Amazing video, I really hope you keep doing these Speed Test videos. I like the hype after every result is revealed 😛 I'm 100% Team Seagate but it's interesting to see these results 😎
Guys what if you bought a hdmi adapter for the m1 iPad Pro that runs 4k hdr and connect the ps5 hdmi cable to ipad if you have only a 1080p tv would that work?
Sony claims any SSD going in the PS5 requires a heat sink although I’m not sure the system itself would actually be able to tell. The thing is that the heat sink pull heat in a certain direction and keeps it off of the components in the ps5 more so you would probably run the risk of breaking the Ps5 fairly quickly if you don’t use one. If you are buying a drive without one you might as well get one since you can find some on Amazon for super cheap.
Lame comparison. At least stream actual gameplay so as to demonstrate it's data streaming abilities. Quoting a review on Amazon: "Despite being advertised as PS5 compatible, with theoretical max sequential read speed of 5600 MBPS, actual performance in PS5 is around 3800 MBPS, which causes a few PS5 games to have slower performance. Right now it is just a fancy External storage expansion equivalent in a m.2 form, but not quite PS5 ready" "What can I say but it failed 3 months later and I lost my data. Samsung m.2 are better." " 2.0 out of 5 stars Transfer speed slowed to a crawl during a large file transfer Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2021 Capacity: 4TBStyle: SSDVerified Purchase I bought this to use as a replacement for another drive that was nearing capacity so I started by transferring all the stuff from the old drive which was about 1 TB of data. At some point past the halfway mark, the transfer speed dropped from around 1,500 MB/s (the advertised speed) to less than 10 MB/s. When moving such a large volume of data, 10 MB/s would take a very long time. I don't have the ability to determine why this happened so I don't know if it's because the write cache filled up or it was overheating or what. Either way, it's not useful to me if I can't get my data on to it in a reasonable amount of time. For those dealing with smaller sets of data, the drive may perform well. But for me who works with large sets of photo and video, it's a no-go."
WOAH!!! What on earth! well skip that one then! this video is over almost 2 years old but typically prices go down over time! but really the point was almost every ssd we have tested so far is within a millisecond's difference. We filmed the tests in 120 frames per second and still had to slow down the footage and go frame by frame just to see a difference. So we came to the conclusion that in real world scenarios any compatible ssd should be just fine! Thanks for checking out the video by the way!
Great comparison. Just bought a WD Black 2 TB. Cheap no but all these are what within a second or so of each other. So I don't see going wrong with any of these. I guess budget would be your deciding factor.
Samsung seems to be the most reliably fast out of all of them between this test and the last.

Yeah we were very shocked. I was just excited to see if it ever won one or if it was even close. We weren't expecting it to hang.

Can you guys do a test on which would last the longest if took to the breaking point or which is the coolest in terms of heat management???😊
I also run at speeds “up to” 40 mph*

Great video. This is what I was looking for. Have you guys compared the internal drive compared to SSD expansion drive?
Have you tested thr fanxiang one?
Great video - keep up the good work! Glad to see the underdog hold it's own.
We were too! It was definitely a fun video to make and we were pretty surprised by the results!

Of course we all know it isnt just loading that matters. Its how long will it last, how many times can it be wrote on,how reliable is it.

Can you compare fanxiang S660 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe on PS5
Yeah I need to Kno
You should try with gran turismo 7 on loading times with these ssd's
Great suggestion and we appreciate the comment!
Great video awesome test results
great video! I love your explanation, it is help a lot for future buying.
Did you ever do the heat dissipation video ?
That cheap one on Amazon with heat sink looks like it won’t fit in the ps5. It looks HUGE!
I just got the cheapest Crucial P5 Plus 2TB ssd for $122........holy shit......
Without heat sink tho
Damn. I wish I saw this before I bought the Samsung one last night.
Yeah we were actually pretty shocked by this test. We hope you found it interesting as well and thanks for watching.

also the Samsung 980 Pro that cleans 7000 reading speed and writing speed once placed in the PlayStation 5 it only reads 5000
Really? I mean it won most of the time. Was thinking of buying the samsung
the difference is the Firecuda will last twice as long and take double the punishment.

does it neeed a heatsink?

It’s $129 now

pny 2140 is the cheapest, and still compatible, but the speed is below ps5 recommendation but its work!
2tb for £60 can't be bad 😂
200 how is that the cheapest?
We got it without the heat sink and added our own heatsink for around $5. It was also cheaper than the other models currently but pricing has changed.
I live with a European lady. Yes I have a dust free environment. Even with all the doilies everywhere.
Gta takes pretty long to load into online
Because it’s depending on online connection not the ssd fault
