I love banana pudding dessert and I make it with Cook and Serve Vanilla pudding instead of instant banana cream pudding. I also to keep the bananas from turning brown after cutting them up I give them a lemon juice soak. For some reason it keeps the bananas from browning. That is a tip I read somewhere long ago and it works.
I use vanilla flavored pudding instead of banana flavored pudding because that means all the banana flavor is actually coming from the real bananas. It’s a lot more authentic. My grandmother gave me her recipe so I’ve also made the pudding from scratch. Banana pudding dessert is my favorite! I’m really glad you made a video and shared it. It’s something that shouldn’t ever be forgotten!

I watched this & reminded me growing up with this recipe & my mom made & put into pudding dishes. I made it your way today for my brother & I and LOVED the one pan version.. it was DELICIOUS.. thank you! Side note: I was feeling my BP dropping in the supermarket ( not hydrated enough)getting the ingredients & it was the Nilla wafers that saved the day in isle 4.. ripped that box right open.. ended up buying 2 boxes one for recipe & one for snacks in purse!

I don't need to make it from scratch. Jello puts it all together for me, either instant, or, cook-type. Tastes delicious with out all of the unnecessary putting the ingredients together individually.

This isn't a criticism against Justine. I just want to know why American cream is so unnaturally white? That whipped cream is weirdly white compared to te real natural cream you get in other countries. It should be off- white (i.e cream!) Due to butter cream content required for whipping to occuro
This is the lazy way and you're going to get more vanilla taste then banana if you make the custard it's going to come out tasting more banana how hard is it to get two cups of milk 1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream and 1/4 cup of cornstarch you mix all that stuff together and you whisk it whisk it and then you take a little bit of that with your five eggs you temper it once you temper it then you put it back in the milk and cornstarch that's going to come out tasting way better than this pudding whatever I guess cuz I'm so used to making everything from scratch
Love banana pudding. My mom used to make it for holidays and birthdays all the time when I was a kid. But cutting up the bananas alone would take me forever as I can no longer eat any banana without splitting it into its' segments first, so I'm not sure it'd be worth the effort. I'd have to take each apart before cutting them up and using them. Why? Let's just say that since I learned you can split them into three equal parts, and doing so, I've seen some odd and gross looking stuff inside that I don't ever want to eat.
I've made it and not my favorite .banana cream pie with the cook kind of pudding is all I use don't like the Instant pudding mixes to many Preservatives

It's the acid in the lemon that keeps them from turning. You can use any citrus on things like apples & avocadoes. As well as bananas.

Try whipping your cream with one of those small pkgs of cream cheese. It's AMAZING and would put your dessert over the top!!!!!!!!!
