We lost our chihuahua right before Christmas last year. He was nearly 15. We have no pets for the first time in 45 years of marriage. We hesitate to get another pet because we are conscientious pet owners and hate to leave them.
Here in Minnesota I love waking up to the summertime sound of an early morning lawn mower at the neighbor's. It is a morning wake up reminder that it's not snow blower and snow plow season.
One of the reasons I bought an electric (battery powered) lawnmower was not only because of the noise and fumes that gas powered mowers have, but because there's practically no maintenance, aside from charging the batteries and cleaning off any grass on the mower itself. You can mow your lawn at night and no one will hear it, no, really, it's that quiet. I love it. You can use with or without the grass catcher, and it mulches the grass too. I wouldn't have it any other way.
That is fantastic! I have a looooong driveway. I edge it with an electric edger, and I sweep. I don’t use a leaf blower. My neighbor asked me why I don’t use a blower. It is because of the noise. We live in a very quiet neighborhood. I don’t want to disturb the peace.
I love mine .. I could not start my gas mower ( getting old ) honestly I will never go back . Just buy a good brand . My first one was off brand ( sold at aldi) and it would not work . So buy a name brand
Hey jerry and linda...thanks for putting our video on the channel....we love our bees. They are amazing to watch...and i know for sure that our telescope can see Uranus....I may have some pictures...we will be watching out for you next week...Al and Kathy
I truly don't understand people that feel the need to comment negatively. Is there life that miserable that they want everyone to be that way as well. So very sad! We love you! Thank you for the great videos. Prayers for Gizmo ❤ We love him.
I know it’s hard to find a vet and pray you have a good one. ❤️ Blood work about 7 months ago showed our 10 YO Dachshund mix has Cushing’s disease. He is on daily oral chemo medication (pill) and has improved tremendously. He’s enjoying life again. I know Gizmo is older but it might be worth a check. We were doubtful but glad to see our Maxwell enjoying life again. Also, we put him on Hill’s diet at first and now Bil-Jac food (wet & dry) and treats. He’s not always happy but he’s healthier! Love and prayers for Gizmo and both of you. 🩵❤️🙏
We lost our little dachshund, Oscar, over this past Easter weekend. He looked so much like Gizmo. We had him since he was a tiny little puppy and had him over 17 years. We miss him! Hoping all goes well Gizmo and you guys!
Hi Jerry and Linda...I really liked the new "Out And About" segment. Thank you for another great show, and continued love and prayers for little Gizmo. Have a wonderful week.
All the best to Gizmo and always know you provided a loving home with everything needed! We are really enjoying the “out and about” segments and as always, appreciate your many efforts. Looking forward to Thursday’s live show.
Thank you so much for all of the good information you have provided. There are so many questions I had the listing back to all of the older shows you have answered. We will be there towards the end of August… Only a couple weeks now! So excited! We hope to find our perfect home, we were not. My husband’s brother and his wife live there and absolutely love the villages! Even though they’ve been there for over a year now they watch your show every morning! Thank you so much for all of your good information. Hope to see you soon!😊
So reference the bee hives, telescope and big smoker. I highly recommend one of the Villas that has an enclosed back yard or better yet, a Veranda. What no one sees, no one can complain about. Thats my suggestion and thats what we did 😉
Will be a tough decision with my kids and grandkids up in NH and no income tax here…. With half hour drives to NH and Maine beaches. Def will be snowbirds and may be more economical to rent in TV. We shall see. Right now I am needed for my 99 year old dad. He is very sharp and lives a mile away in the home I grew up in.❤️ Great show and our best to Gizmo🥰
We have a 16.5 year old little dog and certainly understand the situation with Gizmo. Dogs are awesome but they certainly require special attention as they age. Good luck with Gizzy. He's a very good boy.
Crazy how different parts of the country use words, I've always used chock. That's one of the great things about your channel, between you and your guests we get a wide variety of accents and words. So enjoy your show. It's better than most of the offerings on television.
I really enjoy watching your show and hearing the variety of questions you get every week. Sending hugs and kisses to Gizmo and hope you all have a nice week. See you on Thursday!
I had a sandhill crane strut across my front lawn. It was a beautiful sight! No, I didn't feed it. 😊 I'm watching Gizmo with his head on your arm. I sure hope he feels better soon. I got today's scramble also right away.....WOW, I'm on a roll!! Love the new "Out and About" segment! I've been to Red Sauce and enjoyed it also. Whoa Jerry, I remember that show "Beanie and Cecil". Watched it a lot as a child! 😂 Keep doing what you're doing Jerry and Linda! You're the best! ❤❤
Hey Jerry and Linda. Nice portraits. Well you have inspired me, not to move to TV, but to move here on the island of Maui, to a golf cart friendly community, where I can ride around the neighborhood and take a five minute ride down to the beach, using all the golf cart paths. I am excited to get a golf cart and get back into the ocean. I tried living up the mountain on rural land with my family, but as you said, you cannot live for your family. You have to live for yourself first and do what makes you happy. They were at work, and I was rather isolated. I look forward to neighbors and more to do.
@@signbeth Hey, thanks for asking. I am okay, but the entire island is reeling. I closed on my new home four days before the fire. It survived, but is close to the devastation. I have yet to move into it.
Thumbs up for the Out n About series as well as bloopers at the end. Good work! Extra special scritches for Gizmo - if only he knew how big his family is!
We always look forward to Mailbag Monday😍Such great questions and we learn so much too😉We so understand Gizmo & his health concerns. Prayers for patience & comfort for him & y’all as you navigate this journey with him🙏🙏 You two have hearts of gold 💗💗
Thank you so much for all the wonderful and informative content! My wife and I came for a visit in June and saw you filming the farmers market in Brownwood, but I really didn't want to bother you. We enjoyed our time so much that we are coming back the last week of September! The information you provide made our visit much more enjoyable!
12 noon on Thursday...I am working from home on Thursday. I hope to tune in...that will be 11 am here in Chicago. Keeping healing & positive thoughts for Gizmo.
If you keep your shoes in the garage, put a dryer sheet in each shoe. It's suppose to keep the bugs out. We live in Illinois and my husbands grass cutting shoes are kept in the garage and we put dryer sheets in them and we've not seen anything in them. It's worth a try. Also, put Irish Spring bars of soap in the 4 corners of the garage too. Works too to keep mice etc. out. We have never seen any. I cut the Irish Spring bars in half and you only need two. I change them out every 6 months or once a year. Sure hope Gizmo feels better. Love your show !!
Another great show! Now regarding those cranes...Florida has taken so much land for golf courses, thus taking away their natural habitat, those guys got to peck and eat someplace. I'd rather it be on an eyesore golf course (which there are too many of) than in a persons backyard. You guys take such good care of Gizguy and he knows it.
Great show as usual! So sorry to hear about Gizmo not doing well. It’s so hard to see your beloved pet not feeling well and slowing down. You’ve given him a wonderful life. I recently saw a reel on Instagram for the poem “So God made a dog” and it was really touching. Perfectly sums up how important they are to us.❤
Hi! Scramble=local 👀. We love Red Sauce for Sunday brunch $20 with bottomless mimosas and you are seated at the table we always seem to get! Love you guys!
Thanks for making us a part of your show. My wifes name is Rhonda, and I can't believe I didn't add her name to the commet. We hope Gizmo gets better soon.
Great show with good information! Linda, you held it together when Jerry was talking about Gizmo's health. I cried for you. So sorry that you are going through this. Been there several times and it's heartbreaking.
Amenities fee is CHEAP, minuscule considering all we get. My friend bought in Stone Creek Ocala and pays almost $300 and then has to pay $8000/year for golf and have to pay for the exercise classes, and very, very minimal landscaping, only 2 pools, one recreation center and NO GOLF ACCESS to anything.
So sorry Gizmo isn't feeling well. I just had to put my dog, child and best friend down and it has been harder than I thought it would be. Kudos to the lady who sent Gizmo the stroller. Hopefully he will enjoy the rides. My dog would walk some and then I would stroll her back and she loved it. She loved being in the fresh air, early in the morning before it got so hot.
I discussed moving away with both of my children and they were all for the idea and even with a first grandchild on the way this fall they still support my move and actually enjoy coming down to visit.
I also think grown children want their parents to be happy living their own lives and not depend on the children for their entertainment. After all, grown children have their own lives to live too.
Hi Jerry & Linda, LOVE your show so much! I have a question if you don't mind answering, at what age did you begin taking social security? Is this a topic you have talked about before? You both and Gizmo are a delight, thanks so much! xoxoxoxo
I can make it from Fenney to Treasure Island/St Pete Beach in less than 90 minutes!! And the non-windy way to the Turnpike for you would be to go west on 44 to 301 and then south on 301 to the Turnpike entrance. Much quicker than all the roundabouts from your area, down Morse, then to Meggison all the way to 470 and then the Turnpike entrance
Thank you for answering the question about the cost of homeowners insurance. I wonder if this issue has caused anyone to change their mind about relocating to Florida? I still have over a year until I retire; hopefully, the homeowners insurance situation doesn't get any worse in the next 16 to 18 months. I will be watching this issue. Regarding the Sandhill cranes causing damage to the golf courses, several large office complexes and some golf courses in the Chicago area are bothered by Canada geese. The geese leave a mess with their droppings. There are goose patrol companies in Chicago that use border collies & Australian shepherds to deter the geese from making a home at the golf courses or office campuses. I wonder if there are any similar bird deterrence companies in Florida to deal with Sandhill cranes?
Great show as usual. We live on #15 tee box on Southern Oaks golf course. We have never been rattled out of bed by the mowers. We see the landscapers come thru on golf cars occasionally. Maybe by the time they get around to our area, it's later in the day. And, we've been to Red Sauce. Awesome food and entertainment!
Loved your show today. We also went to Brownwood on Saturday night to see Blonde Ambition. The band was very good but very, very loud. My Apple Watch warned me several times that the sound level was unsafe. One of the warnings was over 115 decibels!
We almost put an offer on a house last week, sight unseen. We got nervous though and decided to at least do our lifestyle visit first in November. Can't wait! Hugs and squeezes to Gizmo XO
Hey y’all and Gizmo, my husband and I are 46 and retired. Currently we snowbird in Florida and wanted to do a lifestyle visit. What rules do they have about pets joining us during our visit? I’m in love with the esthetic of how beautiful the community is and how well maintained everything looks.
Hi Sara. You're going to have a ball! I would say however that if there is any way that you can come without your dog That you would have a better time. You will be given a golf cart to explore. We encourage that. We tell people to ride, ride, ride. You will find that many of the activities that You Want To participate in that You will be inconvenienced by having Your Dog. Your golf cart will only have 2 seats. You cannot take him into the restaurants that you would like to try. If you go see a movie, or a theater show, he cannot attend. This is a super dog friendly place, but if you are here thinking about moving here… you will want to be free to go out and do as many things as you can without worrying about your pet. That is just our advice from seeing it happen over and over.
@@JERRYANDLINDA that makes sense. Since we have planned the entire season in Florida for travel and the dog goes. Maybe you have a suggestion for dog care during the day? Do you know of any doggy daycares?
The beaches are great in Florida. I choose Nocatee to be there in 10 mins so I go frequently and only stay an hour or so. So great to live close to the beach!! Otherwise the Villages is great!
For a minute there, I thought you had forgotten about the Bloopers! I like it after you sign off. All my love to Gizmo. That little guy looks awfully tired. Thanks for sharing and God bless.
Yeah, it was kinda weird hearing them sign off and say "see you when you get here." Seems like the bloopers should have been right before the sign off. Glad they took my suggestion and put them at the end for those of us who enjoy watching them.
Great video. Love, love, love the cranes! My favorite bird here in The Villages. Really like the pics of the two of you on the Out and About segment. Sorry to hear Gizmo is still feeling bad. Loved his jokes this week.
Awe poor gizmo it’s sad to see him slowing down.. I thought I heard The village’s population was 250000 during snowbird time? My oldest cousin followed her son to Amelia Island years ago and they are still there great information as always ! Grumpy old people in the Villages? I never saw that.. I don’t recall hearing anything about insurance though..
The food looked delicious but it looked like Linda had Fettuccini and those meatballs were the size of tennis balls!!! 🍝 Sending prayers to Gizmo with love!!❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
If I lived there I'd work there Linda! Best to Gizmo. My daughter's love (dog) is suffering from Cushing (?) also. 😢 Have a great 4 days till we meet again😊
It is true that The Villages is not close to the beaches but you also have to realize that the home insurance is much less here than if you have a home near the coast!
We totally are JUST NOW tuning in! Better late than never! We would love a lake house for the summers. That smoker looked like one we'd see at a big event with MANY people. Do neighbors coordinate with each other and share the same lawn guy? I think that's what we'd like to do. Makes sense for so many reasons. We got the scramble! I was with Jerry looking confused on Linda's "spaghetti". The noodles looked more like fettuccine noodles. I had to look it up; From the menu: "FETTUCCINE CARBONARA Wine cured bacon, onion, black pepper with a light wine & cream sauce, finished with Parmesan & egg tossed with fettuccine. We thought about popping by your place last weekend when we were there, but didn't want to impose. 💔 for Gizmo 😢
Hugs for Gizmo and you both. I have a Cavalier King Charles that is medically fragile at 10 years old. It's heartbreaking. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Thanks for the wholesome family friendly entertainment, Not enough of that these days. I am not old enough for the The Villages yet but I plan to be there in 5 short years, can't wait. I am so sorry to hear about Gizmo, going through something similar with my best friend right now as well. Hang in there and I hope Gizmo makes a miraculous recovery.
Great video and information. I have never seen a smoker that big! Regarding the bee hive, I am pro bees but some people are highly allergic. I've never been stung but I wouldn't want to find out if I was that way.
Our lawn maintenance person started with a push mower and his practice grew in the neighborhood , he then asked if he could use a sit down do to his bad back. What are you going to do. He does a good job.
Veteran Pro Tip: Veterans with 100% service connect disability rating pay zero property taxes on primary Florida residence and the Funding Fee is waved on VA Home loans. Contact your local county tax assessor for form and talk to your mortgage loan officer for FF waiver form.
Staying home because of Gizzy makes you wonderful people because he is so worth it! You’re his parents. He comes first. ❤
Yes.
We lost our chihuahua right before Christmas last year. He was nearly 15. We have no pets for the first time in 45 years of marriage. We hesitate to get another pet because we are conscientious pet owners and hate to leave them.
If one person in village is allergic, then it may not be appreciated or welcomed
Being that far from the beach means you're much less likely to suffer hurricane damage. It also decreases some insurance costs.
Gizmo♥️ Jerry &Linda…. Peace & comfort! It’s so heartbreaking as our beloved pets come down to their last days. You’ve given him a great life♥️
❤❤❤
I share those thoughts and prayers.

😲😲😲😲😲
Maybe they turned up the volume under the assumption most seniors are hard of hearing....lol
Prayers for Gizmo ❤
Another great show. Thanks for all the information.
Thank you for a great show. ❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it
We almost put an offer on a house last week, sight unseen. We got nervous though and decided to at least do our lifestyle visit first in November. Can't wait! Hugs and squeezes to Gizmo XO
So enjoy listening to you both. Sending good thoughts for Gizmo ❤ Keep up the good work….looking forward to many more videos. Thanks again! 😊❤
Jerry and Linda #2 might be our new neighbors! Yeah, Lake Denham!
They are my new neighbors ❤
Great show. Sending prayers for gizmo.
❤❤❤
The beaches are great in Florida. I choose Nocatee to be there in 10 mins so I go frequently and only stay an hour or so. So great to live close to the beach!! Otherwise the Villages is great!
Ayyy🎉!! Just popping by to say Hey and I loved the show today! ❤
Yay! Thank you!
Thanks so much, Kate!
I told her!!!!
Tennis balls? More like baseballs. Those were like two hamburgers (round ones of course). LOL
Beany and Cecil? Now that's a throwback
If I lived there I'd work there Linda! Best to Gizmo. My daughter's love (dog) is suffering from Cushing (?) also. 😢 Have a great 4 days till we meet again😊
I love Mondays now that I watch your mailbag show. So sorry to hear about Gizmo. Here’s!
❤❤❤
Thanks, Kit! I knew it! 😁😁😁
@@JERRYANDLINDA I have a meeting in the office on Thursday, hope to catch the replay.
Hugs for Gizmo and you both. I have a Cavalier King Charles that is medically fragile at 10 years old. It's heartbreaking. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
❤❤❤❤❤
Some good information to provide your views with dogs is about the invasive cane toads that are poisonous to dogs and possibly even deadly.
Always informational. Always fun. Thanks, Jerry, & Linda...and Gizmo.
❤❤❤
What times do they cut grass on golf courses in the villages? Before sunrise?
Early.
