      GM made the Malibu more simplistic especially in the controls, so why would you say that this generation is not as sharp as the last generation?

    This is a nice car, but I just couldn't see myself paying almost $30,000 for it! I actually just purchased a 2016 Malibu today and got a great deal on it, and it only has 14,000 miles on it. Great review!

    I have a general question? am I supposed to hear the car turbo engine while driving? my 2016 chevy malibu LS 2.0L. It's really quite when I am at a red light and or stop sign, I just can't remember during my test drive & first week of driving if my car was extremely quite while driving or not now into week 3 I can clearly hear my engine more noticeabley on right passenger side 🙄maybe I'm barely beginning to be more wear and in tune with my vehicle since purchase. ☺ Youtub commentary videos keep mentioning how "quite" this car is!

      +bobert866 I have the 2015 Chevy Malibu. Best car ever!!! We love it so much were thinking of getting a standard 2016 Malibu Limited (Chevy has two 2016 Malibu's. The all new Malibu seen here and on TV and a standard Malibu Limited which is identical to a 2015 Malibu).

    Why cloth seats, leatherette would have been a better choice starting at the LT1 and real leather from there. Cloth on the base of course.

      Hot as hell in the summer and cold as hell in the winter. No thanks. Plowed snow working for a school district for 35 years. Had Five trucks during that time four with vinyl seats and one with cloth. Was so nice to get in on those cloth seats at two in the morning in January. Love my cloth. And the BS about heated and cooled does not matter because that stiff material feels horrible on your butt any time as far as I am concerned.

      +Taha Qaisi I too have a 2015 Chevy Malibu! In my opinion the 2015 looks better than the all new 2016 Malibu. This all new Malibu looks like a 2015/2016 Chevy Impala and the all new 2016 Chevy Cruze. The 2015 GEN has a modern look yet still keeps the classy Malibu design. Were thinking of also getting a standard 2016 Malibu limited (Chevy has 2 different 2016 Malibu's) which looks like a 2015 Malibu........ 2015 Malibu = Best car ever!!!

    Why?? Why did they pull a Ford and leave a blank in the outer clear lens of the tail lamp instead of putting an amber turn signal in there?? I'm sorry but this decision of them using the brake lamp as a turn signal and leaving the blank there is GM downright being cheap. If there is one thing that annoys me more than brake lamp turn signals is the use of them and leaving a clear blank there in a very tacky way. I'm sure there is no secondary reverse lamp in there either (like Jeep does with the Grand Cherokee).

    Why do Chevrolet and other american car companies design tail amps to accommodate amber turn signals and then not use them? I really hate the single light bulb for brake/turn signal, it screams cheap to me.

  • @carnivalfunships1
    @carnivalfunships1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a 2015 Chevy Malibu. Were thinking of also getting a standard 2016 Malibu limited (not the all new as seen here). I personally do not like the all new Malibu. This car has lost the Malibu look and looks very similar to the 2015/2016 Chevy Impala and the all new 2016 Chevy Cruze. This new Malibu has lost it's classy look:( I still love the interior of the 2015 more and I am glad there is a standard 2016 Malibu Limited that has the body of the 2015 GEN.

      Actually, they're the standard 18 inch rims on 2LT models. 19 Inch wheels are optional, but come standard on the Premier trim.

  • @bricenm
    @bricenm 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The front is hideous. Looks like Chevy went with more hard touch plastic than the previous gen Malibu (2013-2016 Limited) for the interior. They cheaped out on the trunk too...the hinge slid into a covered pocket in the last gen Malibu so it won't rub against trunk contents. This new Malibu's hinge is exposed all the way and will rub against luggage and anything else packed tight in the trunk. Also, I think the infotainment display was implemented better in the last gen...this new Malibu's screen looks like an iPad that was glued on the dashboard...pretty tacky looking IMHO. I liked the hidden compartment in the last gen Malibu behind the infotainment screen. I would rather spend a tad bit more and get an Impala over this new Malibu.

      @muhammadmsalaam9594 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      the are more than a few discrepancies etc at least in quality or overall parts or thoroughness in not style but how the car came to be in final product.
      keep in mind this product is not a trim level above the base model however the primary criteria for building a class leading product at least in this market has been to topple the past 15 year or more Camry.
      Good enough has never been a benchmark however the car has selling points again more than a few specifics need improvement

    • @PKMNFan4664
      @PKMNFan4664 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Muhammad M Salaam The Toyota Camry has actually been the best selling car since 1997.

    • @muhammadmsalaam9594
      @muhammadmsalaam9594 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Nirvana Fan its been on & off for that market however for sellable good business Camry over Malibu for still top of class benchmark , Buick Regal though entry sport luxury a rank above family 4 door market;
      Regal especially in CXS & GS spec has road handling compliance & performance including consistent quality & reliability very consistent.
      Choose a Regal CXS or Grand Sport over Malibu than comparing back to back with Camry or Accord,
      consistently it ranks through equitable perception as good as as Toyota in reliability especially body build vault like craftmanship (sturdyness)

    • @PKMNFan4664
      @PKMNFan4664 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Muhammad M Salaam The Buick Regal is quite more expensive though.

    • @muhammadmsalaam9594
      @muhammadmsalaam9594 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Nirvana Fan true however the trade off becomes worth it
      the road holding & overall solid build of the Regal / Isignia becomes that of a product that has build excellence & passenger occupant shell safety surrounding ranking continuity

    My questions are why do all those nice pseudo-luxury features come with cheap looking cloth seats? and dear Chevy why are the lights for the turning signals not orange or yellow-ish? theres an extra set of clear lights, one could belong to the reverse lights and the other to the turn signals. i hate red turn signals lol. i could rant all day if i wanted.

      +PhoenixGaming It also comes with an abundance of interior hard plastic. This is a car best left for rental fleets, nobody would be proud to own such a cheaply made car.

    • @juanzingarello4005
      @juanzingarello4005 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +PhoenixGaming My thoughts exactly. Ford, VW, and Mercedes-Benz lately are guilty of doing this too. Atleast Jeep replaces the turn signal with an extra pair of reverse lamps which in some sense I sometimes prefer over the amber signals. But this leaving the blank in there to save a few cents on an extra pair of bulbs and wires is just plain tacky and cheap.

    • @evanganske9240

      +DeadofWinter321 In all honesty, some of the best running vehicles that we've had in our family have been GM's. The days of the Jimmy, Lumina, Century, Sunfire, Trailblazer, etc are gone. General Motors is committed to producing world class vehicles and it really shows with all of the awards that they have received lately.

    • @carnivalfunships1
      @carnivalfunships1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +DeadofWinter321 Chevy has 2 different 2016 Malibu's. There is the all new 2016 Malibu (as seen here) which is the one on tv and a standard 2016 Malibu Limited which looks like a 2015. The 2016 Limited does not have the issues as the all new 2016. The Chevy Malibu has been voted the best Mid-Size sedan for several years now. They also have a great warranty (standard 3 year 36,000 mile and upgrade 5 year 100,000 mile) It also has OnStar standard for several years for free.
