love my 2014. has 65,000 miles on it. drive it 80 miles a day. I get great gas mileage. only had it in the shop once for the brake recall. I'm just not sure if the newer malibu will be as good as mine.
Just bought a 2014 Malibu lt with only 40k miles on it. . Looks and drives amazing. . I upgraded all the interior speakers to aftermarket pioneer speakers and now it sounds and drives and looks amazing lol
Usually if your car has problems, it's usually the mechanic. This one dealer I took my car to, the engine light used to always come on after a visit. A lot of dealerships are real shady though, charging you for work you don't need (etc...). You can't be loyal to one place.
I have a 2014 Malibu LT Eco 2.5L that I bought new for $18,423 in June 2014, now have (Jan 2019) 28,800 miles and the only complaint I have is the road noise. Great mpg and nice ride. First new vehicle since a new 1974 F150.
I’ve had a 2005 Malibu, now a 2010 2LT. Miss my 05 everyday but the 2010 is a solid car and good build. I’m still doing some modding to make it look a lot better, but it runs absolutely fine. Love the malibus
The 2014 and 2015 Malibu looked so much nicer than this new generation one (2016 or later). It had its unique look to it- much different from the Chevy Cruze or Impala. Much different from competitor midsize sedans, such as the Ford Fusion. What’s sadly disappearing is the uniqueness of each car. I love the grill of the old one and the back end. I loved how the license plate holder lied below the trunk. The 2016 or later version looks like a larger and less attractive Cruze. I wouldn’t be surprised if the old one were to become a classic in the future.
The 0-60 time on the 2016 Malibu seems a bit slow for 1 mile above sea level, I actually test drove one myself. My new 2016 1.5 Turbo civic goes 0-60 in 7.6 seconds at 1 mile above sea level as shown on The Fast Lane Car (TFL)
I just drove a Malibu Limited to Colorado about a month ago. It was a fine driver and another great Epsilon body from GM. I've had a couple already and would be quite happy with the Limited. I can't wait to try the new version Malibu, it may finally get me out of my old Epsilon (Pontiac G6).
I owned a 2013 Malibu and the car was okay, nothing great. Very simple point A to B car. I returned the car because I feared the common electrical problems would start at any moment, which I did have problems with the dash and HVAC. Anyway, I went with a friend to check the 2016 model at a dealer and could tell right away that though the car got a make over, the overall quality and feel had decreased significantly!
Focus vs Sentra! When? Its only $1,200 less for old one, 1,400 is not that much of a differance.. They should give off much more about 4 Grand or more.
So going from a 2.5 liter engine to a 1.5 liter engine only improves fuel economy by 1 MPG what a joke! Plus that smaller engine has to work way harder so it definitely won't last too long! And I can't believe you can no longer add fog lights to the Malibu! Also I heard the cloths seats are super uncomfortable and unsupportive and wear out fast! I'll probably get a Toyota instead!
+sleepybird09 just wait the 4 cylinder Camaro will blow up at 50,000 miles and Kia sucks ass you have to crazy to waste money on a Korean or American 4 cylinder car. Japanese auto makers own that market.
I didn't mind the looks, inside and out of the outgoing model.far better than the second generation FWD Malibu and malibu max.but it was getting old.the new one not bad either.
But that looked like a car just pulling away from a stoplight normally, did it not? And maybe they should consider moving headquarters so they can get actual 0-60 times.
Nonsense. Lots of cars have no drama when flooring the pedal because they make too little power and have somewhat decent tires. Tire package makes a HUGE difference in off the line traction. Millions of people live or drive at elevation so I welcome the numbers they use.
Now...honda is like the joke car..hate to tell you..but does last a long time. Toyota is not doing well where i live..so it will stand out. Ford is top seller in Mich. So like a ford fusion for me
I feel you man , i own one and its been the worst car i ever driven in my life , it feels so heavy , and has way too little power that can help it launch.
I have a 2016 limited lt chevy Malibu it comes 202hp stock but it’s a great car I love the car the government meter doesn’t let the car get past 129 but it’s great
Your "0-60 MPH COMPARISON" is a MILE ABOVE sea-level. 0-60 data is flawed. NON-TURBO engine power noticeably decreases at high altitude. Turbocharged engines make almost the same power at high elevation as they do at sea level.
Outside of the obvious differences, I don't like that new Malibu design (2016) it lost its essence, I look at it and if I didn't know what it was a Malibu I would think it was more of a Chevrolet Cruze, the Impala from that same year (2016) lost its essence ) ) You see it and in moments you realize that it is that model!!!
My 2016 Chevrolet Malibu Limited which still has the 2.5 L, which is actually the reason I was sold on it versus shelling a turbo. Gets zero to 60 way Way way better than 10 point Whatever seconds. I don’t know if it’s had terrifica tune or if there’s a different cam or evhaust work done but I’m hitting 0-60 at eight or so seconds 0 to 60?
The 2014 comes with a 2.5l na or a 2.0 turbo with 300hp Also the ltz is faster than the LT and ls Also they didnt redesign the malibu they made it into a smaller impala and the impala didnt look as good so this malibu is just ugly
*what? you do realize the front occupants get more room along with more trunk space its not all going to magically go to the back seats you ditz. keep in mind this is a mid sized its also one of the *lightest and largest mid sized in its class...* you must think the camry is super tiny 😂😂😂*
Over the years they keep making theses car bigger. Sooner or later midsize car might be full size and compact might be midsize, and dont forget the subcompacts to.

Good lord it's like a competition of whose ugliest. I mean the new one is way nicer, but still ugly. With all the nicer sedans out there I can't imagine who would buy that thing.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally, this is probably the best looking mid size sedan. The Fusion is outdated, the Camry is....meh, the accord has an unibrow, the 200 is good looking until you hit the front(plus I hear they are trash, and Nissan? Yeah...
I have a 2014 Chevy Malibu, and it has been an excellent car.
I have a 2016 eco limited and it has 93k miles on it. Never has had any issues
I just bought 1
@Landon Golombeski I've had issues(minor) with my 2013 Malibu but that most likely due to the previous owner not doing regular maintenance.
Chevy ftw! I want one.
@Landon Golombeski My dumbass got a 2010 that had a transmission issue...that trunk space was godlike though.
I like this reviewer. He gets straight to the point and doesn't attempt lame humor.
The older one just look more appealing than the new one.

I love the looks of the old one.
My opinion the old generation is much better looking 👌 I'm getting the Chevy Malibu limited soon.
I totally agree with you
The new Malibu has an ugly big ass like Impala also the interior is made of cheap plastic whereas the old one was from leather
XODIZE avita and the old one is much faster seems they took power away for looks
1970's generation is the best because it was a muscle car.
I like the new body style because it is better looking then old body style besides the new body style has push button start and bigger touch screen
I love my 15 LT to me the styling is better than the new ones..
I have the '14 and the body looks good to me..
I love both versions. The newer one more, but I still love the older one.
How many mpg?

I'm pretty confident that wasn't full throttle on both of the 0-60 tests.
I agree
Engineering explained did a 0-60 of the 2016 2.0 turbo and he got 6.7seconds.....lol. These guys don't know how to get a good time!
2.0 turbo seems a lot more appropriate for this sized car.
It wasn't

There's no way in hell that was full throttle on the 0-60. My old Ford Focus chirped the tires when you floored it and it only had 130 horsepower.
It's also geared differently and is a lot lighter.
at a mile above sea level the cars lose a lot of power.
But that looked like a car just pulling away from a stoplight normally, did it not? And maybe they should consider moving headquarters so they can get actual 0-60 times.
