    Just wanted to say thank you!! I used your videos to replace EVERY SINGLE REGULATOR in our 2017 Tucson. I even replaced the actuators in the front doors. It has proximity keys so it's kind of important. THANK YOU !!

    Video was very helpful bubba, thank you very much. I had 1 silver screw left over and couldn’t figure out where it went🤦🏻‍♂️ hahaha, but all is working well👍

    Man! that's alotta work for a darn actuator. Modern cars suck. Thanks for the troubler you took putting this up. Make sure when putting everything back together that you clean the teeth of the window motor gear. Mines had stripped the other gear's teeth and were all inbedded in the male gear of the motor. I had to clean each tooth one by one and they were in there tight.

    We have a 2016 Tuscon just bought 2 months ago and the driver window is stuck down in the window, and we were told that is definitely the regulator.. may we contact you to arrange for you to do the labor if we or yourself order the part and we drive to you?

    Would you come to Valrico, FL to change out a gear on a 2018 Kia Optima (front left)? If so, what's your phone #?

    Is it ever just the window motor? Or do you always have to replace the regulator? How can you tell which it is? I already tried replacing my window switch and that did not solve problem of window not working. Thanks.

    • @PowerUpAuto
      @PowerUpAuto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Seldom the window motor. Probably the gear inside the window regulator but that will involve changing the entire regulator

    • @fuzznutz7182
      @fuzznutz7182 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Always replace the motor and the regulator at the same time unless its just a failed motor. You can determine this close inspection of each gear looking for wear on the gear teeth.

    That relay on the bottom was for your airbag sensor

    My wife's 2016 tucson isn't like that it's a solid metal door that you can't get into. Her window works when it wants to, it's so frustrating

    • @PowerUpAuto
      @PowerUpAuto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Problem is the gear inside the window regulator. Most places will change thje entire regulator, about $440. You might be able to change just the regulator gear. th-cam.com/video/B2QMAzUlp2s/w-d-xo.html

    • @PowerUpAuto
      @PowerUpAuto  ปีที่แล้ว

      IF you need the entire window regulator ebay or a hyundai dealer. You might just need the spool/gear www.upanddownmainstreet.com/kia/
      I have a video on youtube showing how to change these. OR, if you are in Tampa area we can do this for you.

    This should be a recall. I had to do this on my wife 2016 Tucson twice. One on the passenger front and 2 months later on the driver side. 🤦🏾‍♂️

      I have had all 4 fail in the last 6 months. The first two failed just within warranty. The last two have failed in the last 4 months outside my warranty. My Hyundai service department said because I wasn’t a “loyal” customer (ie I don’t get serviced at a Hyundai service dept) that they would unlikely replace the other two under good faith. The part is $460aud 😭😭😭

    The relay on the bottom is an air bag sensor. Your battery should be disconnected or you could cause it to discharge causing thousands of dollars in repair.
    Do not use WD 40 to lube anything. It's best to use sicone and white lithium grease on plastic parts.

    • @PowerUpAuto
      @PowerUpAuto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I do not concur. This is all I do, windows and door locks. 28 years, 45,000 invoices. I never disconnect the battery. Also, you're noit using that much WD-40. It works best.

      Disagree thats why the clip on the connection is red. You've been very lucky.
      WD = water displacement
      Not good lubricant

    Ok I'm a major idiot.For the last week I've been tearing my hair out trying to get my driver window to roll up/down.I drove 200 miles for parts,spent $300 on used motor/mechanism/switch,and all the problem was a dam fuse!Luckily I got money back and atleast now I know it's fairly easy job to do.

  • @359Joey
    @359Joey ปีที่แล้ว

    Man, what a frickin let down. I go thru all that BS, swap out the motor and the window assembly, and window still doesnt work! I tried my best to check the fuses which look fine. My only guess is the switch itself may be bad. Any ideas?

    • @PowerUpAuto
      @PowerUpAuto  ปีที่แล้ว

      The motors do not go bad. Might be the switch. Sorry you didn't ask before changing out everything

    • @359Joey
      @359Joey ปีที่แล้ว

      @Power Up Auto Thanks.Im so bummed out.Drove 100 miles for the used motor/window track which supposedly are good,Put everything back together just to find out it still don't work.So now I guess I have to take it to shop to pay them $700 + to find out the issue!

    • @359Joey
      @359Joey ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm looking at regulator and it works fine.i used a screwdriver to manually roll it up and down via plastic gear.If you say the motors rarely go out,it almost has to be the switch itself right?

    • @PowerUpAuto
      @PowerUpAuto  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@359Joey try this. Apply current from a cordless screwdriver battery to the terminals on the window motor. If that spins the motor it might be the switch. Also, it could be an electrical problem. Neither of those problems are common though. Sorry you are not closer. You may need to hire someone to do this for you.
