FYI I have this same vehicle both front windows stopped working (Driver and Front Passenger) All switches were good. What this issue was is the motor pressed up hard against the frame and essentially bind the motor. I removed the motor (3 screws) got access to the white motor gear on the regulator and I lightly twisted the gear to remove the upward pressure (literally about 1/20th of a turn) you will see the window relax. I installed the motor and it worked perfectly. I did the same to the passenger and it was the same issue and this fixed that window as well. It took just a couple minutes. I think what the issue is the stop limit for window up got off and applied to much up force. These windows have a safety feature with limit. I found a video that with key on, engine off you work the window up and down a few times (limit up and limit down) then move all the way to the top and hold the switch for 3-5 seconds ( I did this 3 times on each door) and this will set the travel limits. I also did it window fully down. I have not found any written service data on this but for some reason Tucson window service data is hard to find. Give this a try before paying for regulators. I had a Hyundai service tech tell me that in his experience it is never the motor if there is an issue it is the regulator.
hey thanks for the tutorial i couldn’t figure out what you did with the door handle so i skipped that part but still got it installed just fine. wife’s car is back in business.
I just replace reg, motor and drivers side main switch on a 2018 Tucson. Drivers side still does 't work ...any suggestion on how to trace for a broken wire ! your video was a great help thanks .
Have had to replace 2016 Tucson front driver and passengers window regulator panels. The first one, the passenger side, I had done at the dealership for over $1200 which I was charged for both the panel and the motor. The second one I took to a general mechanic and he was able to just order an aftermarket panel and the total cost was less than $600. If you're having these issues, do your homework and find a mechanic you can trust.
If did but you might just need the gear. I have videos on you tube of how to change the gear and we sell them here www.upanddownmainstreet.com/kia/ with instructions. If you need to buy the entire regulstor check ebay, amazon or a Hyundai dealer.
So I’ve read in forums that it’s the little white piece where the window motor inserts.. but we still have to replace the whole panel? Wish we could just replace the white/gear
Well in theory you could just change the gear. AND you can find them on ebay. I've been able to change out 3 out of 6 on Optimas. No luck with the tucson yet. Give it a shot.
@@PowerUpAuto I was gonna get started on this project and decided to check warranty status, I ended up still having extended warranty so it will get fixed with just a small deductible. Thanks for the video, really helped research the problem.
@@PowerUpAuto any luck ONLY replacing the white gear rather than the entire regulator on the Tucson yet? My window won’t go up due to a stripped gear and they want me to replace the whole thing.
Try resetting the auto feature. Put the window all the way up and continue holding the switch in the up position for 15 seconds after the window is up. That might solve this.
I am in St Petersburg, curious to know what you charge to do this... I think this is a little our of my league. I need driver and front passenger doors done....

Thanks for your tutorial. I couldn't have replaced the window regulator (front/passenger) on my wife's 2016 Tucson without it.

Did the regulator come with the white gear for the motor? Where/which site did you purchase the regulator? Thanks in advance

@@katiemlady8658 2016-2021 Tucson, Optima, Sportage. Yes, you CAN change just the gear. Very difficult repair.
Is this the very same technique if the window does not roll or go down??

If window goes up and comes right back down after installing door glass what should you check
