New Zealand- Hang Gliding XC, Omarama

We went up to the Omarama saddle with a view to do a 200km+ but with the wind on the stronger side I opted to take a later launch in the hope it would drop enough to fly the 15km back to Omarama. Instead I had a really nice flight past Omarama, on to Twizel and landed at the Pukaki airport.

@@petehelliwell what’s the most common route for a 200km task? Here in California it’s from LonePine to Benton

Do you do this sort long distance trips often, and how do you go about getting back to where you came from? Do you get a friend to pick you up or is there a service that transfers people in central otago region? Cheers I'm in Nelson area.
