Awesome video and reporting. Curious, being in the prone position for a long period of time, what parts of body hurt? I’m actually thinking neck and shoulder?
Thanks 😊. I don’t get any aches or pains wile flying luckily. I know some people do struggle with neck ache though. I tend to move between head up and head down quite a bit when flying though so maybe that helps by changing position often. I fly a lot of hours too so I guess there is a bit of muscle conditioning thrown in there too. Or maybe my head is a bit emptier and lighter than the others 🤪
Nice flight! Thanks for sharing 👍 Can you tell us about your camera setup? I'm curious how long your cameras can record? How you start/stop them? Battery life etc.
Hey, so in this video I had two camera set ups. a GoPro 7 on my down tube that I can stop, start, power on and power off by reaching the camera. Been able to power on and off by hand means i can normally preserve the internal battery life for a few hours of flying. The second camera I had out on the wing is an Insta360 one x2. I had this plugged in to a 10,000ma external battery pack and pressed record before taking off and left it recording for the whole flight. With a 256gb SD card this would give me about 5.5 hours of non stop recording.
Hi just curious to know know what altitude meters or feets you maintain when you cross country for a safe glide slope ( to avoid tree 🌲 mountains) and what average speed??? How much time taken to complete?? Thanks My place only 4000 feet altitude allowed because of military so I have to keep landing sites options all along the cross country journey. WW Falcon 4 195. I am also attaching an DIY ehelp electric harness so get me to thermal or get me home option in case of emergency.
I would be keen to give one a go! But i bet i could still miss a turn point. It’s not the instruments. It’s the person that’s reading (our not reading) the screen that’s the problem 😅
@@petehelliwell It's pretty impressive... Moving map, airspace, terrain, all customizable... really good speed to fly calculation if you can punch in the right MacReady values for your wing. I will warn you, the only draw back is that the screen washes out completely in direct sunlight so you have to wait for a turn to shade the screen or use your hand to block the light. The thermal assistant is kinda neat, but even as just an intermediate pilot who is no great artist at thermaling yet, I don't think its quite quick enough to keep up with the real time 'feel' of how your thermal circles are working. I think it really comes in handy when you drift out of lift and need to find your way back to the core. I've never had a 6030 so I don't know how much a pain it is to set up your tasks, but the Blade is super easy; you can download literally hundreds or even thousands of waypoints and select them from a drop-down in alphabetical order and just pop them in, takes less than a minute.
bloody good mate, but bring back the Hangglider with the jet pack from the first video
Haha, ok ok, jet pack hang glider will come back in the next video
Awesome thank you for sharing
Best HG videos on TH-cam
Woah, that’s a huge claim 😂. Thanks though. I’ll try and keep it up 👍🏼
Digging the format … great coverage!

great vid really enjoyed this
Noiiiiiice
I feel like I’m in the comp with you. Excellent video editing!
Thanks for that :-)
Man, how do you get your ayvri track in the video. Do you do a screen recording?
Our season in the mid Atlantic region has been somewhat dismal so far. The weather hasn’t been cooperating.
Yeah that the one
Did you film the tasks this year?
I know you love your 6030, but try a Naviter Blade... you won't miss any turn points again.
