    The reliability, affordability, and fun factor of a ten year old 100,000 mazda 3 manual is unmatched in my opinion. I'm enjoying mine and also paid 4500 a few month's ago. CHEERS!

    I have a 2008 Mazda 3 S 4 door as well. Its been almost 6 years since owning one and l have to say it's a great first car for anyone. Mine has the leather seats, sunroof and the bose speakers. I love the steering wheel as it feels like a sports car when driving. One thing you missed is that the glove box is huge which is awesome. However, mine is in automatic. I would love to drive one in manual. Great review video on a really reliable car.

    Top things that suck about these cars.
    1. Top engine mount blows out at around 40k.
    2. Gets's around 25 mpg combined.
    3. Loud road noise.
    4. Stock speakers aren't that good (non premium model).
    5. Seats are uncomfortable.
    6. The interior feels a bit low quality.
    7. The A/C is weak
    Top Things that a great.
    1. They are affordable.
    2. Peppy engines.
    3. They feel pretty sporty and can handle corners.
    4. Low maintenance/ affordable parts.
    5. Simple to work/repair.

      @@andrewsiegel2950 I have a 2008 3. To keep the weight down, Mazda used very little sound deadening material. It is a tin can. Different tires probably won't make any difference. The noise began to realy bother me, so I added Hushmat soundproffing and replaced the crappy, worn carpet. That made a huge difference, but i do lose a bit of accelereation and MPG due to the added weight.

    I just bought a 2008 Mazda 3 which had 171k kms and I live here up north in Canada. Car drives perfectly awesome and is very zippy. The frame was rusted because of the snow and salt. Had to spend 1.7k on after repairs but still worth it. It's my first car. Hopefully it's gonna last me for at least another two years.

    Hey man, I live in Ukraine and I bought Mazda 3 1,6 2008 this year and I'm really happy about its condition and performance. But on the other hand the gas consumption is 10 liters in 100 km. And one more thing, in Ukraine the price of this car is $7500-8500. Thank you for your review, I was surprised that in USA this car is still valuable.

    I bought a fairly used Mazda 626 1997 version in 2018 and used it for 6 years with no major issues. I finally sold it for more than half the price i bought it and the owner is still enjoying it. Mazda overall is a brand i’ll highly recommend to anyone. It’s durable and fair in price

    • @jamesc7286
      @jamesc7286 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not anymore. I had a 2016 Mazda6 manual, and it started falling apart at a young age. I got out of it and into a Tacoma before it got out of control. Failed blind spot monitoring, failed fuel rail/injector, the driver's seat's upholstery started cracking, despite the fact that I wear gentle clothes and not things like blue jeans with rivets that can damage it. There were other weird electrical gremlins. The combination of a manual transmission and an e-parking brake is just stupid. Even when the blind spot monitoring worked, it completely ignored motorcycles which was of course dangerous. I don't need BSM, but if it is in place and claims to work it NEEDS to work 100% of the time. The paint job was also thin and not durable. Not a terrible car, but not a good one either.
      I also take painstakingly good care of my cars. I never miss a service interval, and I don't subscribe to the 10K oil change nonsense. I also live in an area not conducive to rust.
      I had an '05 Mazda 3 manual which was the best car I have ever owned. The '16 6 was just garbage quality in comparison. They tried to make too nice of a car on too little of a budget.
      Beware of brand loyalty. To ANY brand.

    Interesting to see the differences between your American model and my own Australian one, i've got an 2007 Bk series 2 Sp23 "Luxury pack" it's got the 2.3L, 6 speed manual, leather, premium sound and high gloss 17" alloys. I've owned my Mazda for over 3 years and it's only done 145,000km bloody good reliability and excellent fuel efficiency. Only bit of work it's needed were engine mounts and thermostat other than that it's been trouble free! I also did owed a Maxx Sport prior this one which is the mid-range model, that was also a great car.

    i have this as my first car and i really do love it. really cool review. quick question, how often do i have to change the oil? or any tips you have on it maintenance wise? I’m trying to understand it better lol

    • @theclumsytank
      @theclumsytank  4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Hey! Thanks for the kind comment 😁 I would recommend going with a fully synthetic oil such as Mobil 1 (my favorite brand) and changing your oil around 5,000 miles. Most of these oils will say they lost 7,000 miles but I’m always on the safe side and do 5k. As far as everything else, this car is really easy on maintenance! The most important thing is changing your oil but I would recommend changing your transmission fluid every 50k miles if it’s a manual. If it’s automatic I wouldn’t ever change it. Flush your antifreeze/coolant every 70k miles or 2 years whatever comes first. Keep an eye on your brakes and replace them when the pad starts wearing out, that same with the rotors. That’s pretty much it for the basics! Also monitor your air filter and change it out when it gets dirty, the same with your cabin filter. Thank you so much for watching I greatly appreciate your support and please feel free to ask me anymore questions! 🙏🏼

      phoenixman8569 same here! What you can try to do is making a small hole in the taillight and it will help with the moisture... or if that doesn’t work you can always try aftermarket taillights if you like those but I’ve found that the hole helps the issue completely. Can anyone tell me what might be the problem with my a/c? I got a 2008 Mazda 3 s grand touring sedan and my a/c died so I took it in and they said it was the compressor so they put a new one on and the a/c is still not working. Does anyone know what the problem could be??? Its black on black and I'm dreading another summer with no air!

    • @theclumsytank
      @theclumsytank  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Miss Bee, I hope things are going well with you. I’ve had this exact problem on another Mazda 3 and for me the ac compressor that I installed was faulty and I had to reinstall it with a new one. Are you using an OEM compressor or an aftermarket one? Check to make sure the actual compressor is engaging and spinning and be sure there’s enough oil in it. If replacing it doesn’t work it could also be low on Freon and need to be recharged or have a leak somewhere in the system. Last resort would be to check the blend door actuator sometimes these go bad and won’t allow the cold are into the cabin. Please let me know if you have any questions thank you for watching I greatly appreciate your support 🙏🏼

    Good cars but they suck in the winter the handling is so bad plus they have terrible traction even with winter tires don’t know what it is but they always spin out and lose traction. On dry pavement these cars just fly down the road so smooth it’s almost like your are hovering down the road. The vehicle in question had the 2.0 engine and I didn’t have an issue thought it did what it had to do just fine. But because of the bad traction I got rid of it the car just not a winter car and I live in a winter climate so I need something better for winter.
