I have like 1400hours on Octavia, just rebind your crouch on the mouse wheel, works well. Or, you can install a macro set on the exact amount of crouch needed to pop nocturne. I also run a Zenistar as a melee weapon, I throw a disk on the top of my mallet. Long time ago, the Zenistar's disk was able to get the damage buff from the octavia invisibility, I have no clue if it is still the case. To be honest, I main Octavia because I can run some defense mission and still be at 100% focus on raising my son on the side. :°)
I genuinely love Octavia and she's my most played frame, got me through the entire star chart and steel path ....but because I played her so much I never learnt how to correctly play this game .....she basically kills everything no matter how trash my weps were.... I'm mr20 now and only just started to correctly mod weps and other frames
Give her an augment that replaces mallet and resonator with an old-school, big-ass boombox that you carry on your shoulder or back 🥳 Damage you take is reduced and absorbed by the Boombox. So it acts as a DR and returns damage to enemies around you. Replace her 4 with an actual dancefloor. Enemies who enter the start dancing.
I just bind "crouch toggle" on my mouse wheel down. Then by just scrolling down a bit you get invisibility buff pretty easily. This way it's also super easy to obtain the buff from other octavia players in your party. Octavia may be "boring" to play as main, however she's a great crotch to take players through content they don't have enough gear for.
I LOVED Octavia when I found out about her. Her mandachord aspect and theme got me hooked. But after a very quick while, it got boring. The only time I use Octavia is when there are Thermia Fractures, and it still feels like I’m boring myself to death.
Because, 90% of player don't know her real potential... And forget the boost on the weapon, the vivacity... But you can do everything with Octavia with the helminth... The mallet deals DMG... But it s not the most fun !!!!

i have taken octavia to lvl cap multiple times, her mallet makes conduit keys dropping a breeze which can make an endurance run really fast , but boy that crouch spam, makes me want to pull my hair out, i wouldn't mind DE reducing her invisibilty duration as long as its a single cast ability, like loki's invisibility or ash' smoke screen.
Crouch cancel when you're moving around, it lets you jump cancel in the air to proc both speed and invis. Run around the map and crouch spam in the air.
@@knowvoid9958 thats my take aswell. Just have a suitable beat and get in the rhythm. Jump+crouch -> shoot stuff for a bit -> Rinse repeat. Also slower songs are a bit better. due to not needing to hit 6-7 Beats.. but only 1-2.
I have to say this because it was a literal game changer for me- Bind crouch to your mouse thumb button! It's just soo much nicer, not just for Octavia, not just for Warframe, but literally EVERY game with a crouch button. If you don't think it's a million times better like I do, it takes 10 seconds to switch it back to carpal tunnel.
I think people play her as a stationary warframe or they are too lazy to take full advantage of her Metronome. Sure, she can lockdown and destroy a room with just two abilties. Octavia is a Jacquilene of all trades.
You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding with the mandachord. The abilities have a quantity/quality balance with various sections of the mandachord. The melody deals more damage with less ticks if you have less notes in your percussion (grey) section, and more ticks with less damage each if the percussion section has more notes. The same goes for the metronome. You get more percentage toward each buff by matching a specific best, but if your best is fast, you get more chances with less progress each time. The mallet is the base of her kit. That is how you deal damage. Infinitely scales. Other than the mandachord misunderstanding, you pretty much understand it. Key point is using a single topaz shard for shield gating, because it does trigger off of the mallet. Roller is so forgettable. Sure, it turns off enemy AI, but it replaces it with one that's even worse. It's more often a detriment than a benefit. This is your helminth slot, and you either use nourish for energy Regen on a very energy heavy frame, or you use ophanim eyes in key situations to open up vulnerable spots for longer on bosses such as lephantis and general sargus ruk. Metronome is meant to be a passive biff. You play the game and get little buffs for doing so. Some people see these buffs and think they're necessary but they really aren't. The most I will do to chase the buffs is to make my gun fire at 8 fr, to match the best perfectly, but that's just me. The amp is almost solely used for increasing range on the mallet. Her kit is well adapted to the game, to the point it's too well adapted. Invisibility in spy missions is great! A second target rather than the defense objective is amazing! And being able to be miles away while you're still killing these other guys is always useful. You have to realize, a lot of this game is sitting around for bouts of 30+ seconds. Survival spawns more enemies the longer you stay in one room. Defense has you sitting around. Void fissures and netracells have you killing enemies in this specific spot, and assassination missions tend to stay in one room for extended periods of time. A mallet can hold an interception or excavation objective as you take the next, etc. Octavia is only boring if you make her boring. She's made to be useful in every mission, and she simply performs too well to be engaging to some people.

Having her 4 be an aura that moves with her would be great! Perhaps hold/tap cast to choose stationary vs aura mode, so u can leave it in choke points if u want to. Also, making the invis build up on bullet jump would be much nicer. I used Octavia frequently when she was first released, but then got bored with her beeing too op, and stopped playing her (almost) completely. However, I do use her now and then when I want to stealth scan enemies for Simaris standing. The perma invis is very convenient for this.
The thing about the crouch spam is that you can make a song with a low the amount of notes per bar on Amp so that the you only have hit crouch twice on beat to get the buff. The more notes per bar on Amp the lower the percentage gains for each buff per successful note you hit. I have a silent song with like 6 notes or something and one with low notes but with the music on and i barely have to press crouch for nocturne to reach 100% and activate. Obviously you have to be able to hit the notes so if you're panicking you're not going to be able to hit the few notes there are but if you have rolling guard or are just good with timing both the notes and you need reactive your buff then you'll always be invisible. NOT A OCTAVIA MAIN BTW. I just needed to play her last month and was really annoyed with the crouch spam so I played around with it until I realized this and I much prefer this play style to the "spam crouch and hope you hit enough notes" style.
another thing i noticed at 160% strength i get a 2.8x multiplieer for my dmg from amp but the spot where you chose to put nourish is over malleet and at that same 160% str malleet gives a 4.0 multiplier

i use rage on octavia so enemies start killing themselves faster, its fun to watch. and i get armor/shield strip from focus school if needed; but i never use octavia longer than the mission requires xD so armor usually isnt an issue
Hot take but Octavia is accessibility frame for mobile players lol. Sometimes I want to play on the phone, but can't move, aim, shoot, or manage skills like a regular player on touchscreen. But I can spam crouch!
8:26a nah something has to be motivate you guys from using this demon she’s the correct answer to 90% of warframe problems, barring an interception or anything relating to arching she is my second most played frame I think her set up is fair for what it does although admittedly she’s not enjoyable to play for an extended period of time. Iam not a real Octavia Main - but i do enjoy her. On topic of the Metronome - Its really hard to hit the Beat. For the most part - thats also solveable - Its just i mute my Octavia aswell as other ones.. cause the Music can get annoying (kicker for me was her subsume - since just one part of a song is.. kidna annoying). I would love a augment that makes her 4 move with her... would be sick and improve the gameplay. Hitting the Beat when i play here (even muted) i came to the conclusion u need a decent 'song' / for me thats usual not the all around Fast tunes with 'beats' all the time. but rather a tad slower ones.. Like for Example 'Shake it Off' or 'Falling Stars' or my Favorit - Pursue of Happiness. Cause then since thats part of your Complain - U really need a good 'beat' to move to -> I can corporate my movement kinda to the Beat.Slower Tracks doenst need as many 'perfect actions' as to fast ones. so u can kinda get into the habit of Toss ur crap out -> Shoot Things -> 1 .. 2 .. -> Jump+crouch in air -> Shoot stuff for 2-3 seconds -> Jump+Crouch to next position. but ye.. just my 2 cents on the topic :')
She was made before they added multi-part abilities. Ex vauban's 2, jade's 2, etc. If they ddi the same thing with octavia it would be nice. You could make it similar to jade where its only one at a time or you could so something similar to titania where she can have all of them. I think mallet and resonator are weird with her kit. If her mallet could provide direct survivability instead of just draw enemy fire i think she would stop being a perma invis warframe and be more active.

i agree thaat the invis should either just be given when you cst metroklnome or haave it be aa hold or tap maybe meetranome can be a heelp to her fourth if your not using it for the invis or maybe split up thee 4 buffs between hold and taap 2 for holding 2 for tapping plus the sounds from metanome adds tot he fourth abilities but to me i max out strength and duration but still put some into range but duration is more important to me then range obviously6 i want range but i hate havign to recast all the stuff every 20 seconds so every 35 seconds feels betteer
As an Octavia main (50% usage) to me can get boring but i mainly play her for the theme of the frame and her easy use, the whole idea of a music frame is very cool to me, so i stick with her. i can farm long missions while during off my brain and maxing her duration. i also find the Mandachord fun to play around with. I've made many builds with her and tried to change her playstyle but it always ends up mostly the same. Personally i don't mind the crouch spam for me, been doing it for so long it's like second nature. it is hard to play with a squad that's nuking every enemy in sight so i just the playstyle a bit just focusing on buffing myself with like max strength, all her issues u mentions are very real, as am Octavia main i think we just cope really hard and try our best to find the fun in her, her concept is amazing just he playstyle sucks, your ideas for buffs are amazing and would love to see them added, i am just worried to ask for any change in general DE might just nerf her hard instead of making or more playable or fun. (crouch spam might be easier on controller too i find)
I am not a Octavia main, but the only reason I don't like Octavia is because of her utter stationary-ness, I am fine with the conditionals for the buffs, I'm fine with the boringness that comes with her damage dealing, but man, I hate being stationary
I feel like Xaku with quiver is basically the same thing as Octavia but better :) Edit: so I just put quiver on Octavia 3 and it actually works pretty well I went negative range and efficiency but it doesn't matter the range on her 1 with 4 active is still pretty big, with vazrin and rolling guard I can just go and collect loot loot pretty safety once in a while I also have primed redirection + adaptation for general survivability when I moving throw the level also using shade prime for good measures lol well still experimenting with the setup but so far so good
Ensnare octavia is fun when u got some aoe weapons . Macro the crouch spam on a mouse thumb button for quality of life. Her 1 and 4 as agro dump utility and just have fun while you make sure your music is muted xD also i turned her energy colors dark blue so that the 3 doesnt give me seizures :))
To me it seems like you're saying that the best way to make Octavia fun is to do less to make her op. If this hero is going to be fun she's going to need a rework clearly. But the price of playing such a broken frame is that it's not fun to do which is in my opinion the most obscure but best way to balance the warframe.
I don't play Octavia cause she's boring. Press 1, 2, 3, 4, then repeat. I tried subsuming her 1 off so at least enemies wouldn't kill themselves while I AFK but still, boring as hell
Yea it's decent, but its just in a line opposed to the radius from pillage, pillage is nice since she already does radial damage, on a normal warframe I usually prefer ophanim though :)
As former Octavia Main, I partially disagree with your take. It seems to me, that most of your problems stems from not understanding, how Mandachord works. The thing is - the placement of notes matters. By strategically placing notes you could make that just by shooting and jumping as usual - you get the buffs. When I played Octavia, my teammates received buffs just by being near me and jumping and shooting as usual. Complaint about Octavia that she is not mobile is also feels strange to me - just recast your abilities in new room, it is not that expensive. My main problem with Octavia - she is too passive. It was fun at first, but then it became boring. I like using abilities more actively.
A very simple crouch spam macro solves the issue of getting finger cramps and the other buffs are all on 100% of the time when you setup your song right (have a note in every space) The trick to not getting bored with her is using her mallet as a cc tool and use the great buffs to deal damage yourself, glaives for example are greatly buffed and for me it is fun setting a killzone and move a bit away and kill stuff yourself, super effective and imho fun. Octavia is my fourth most played frame after Ash, Dante and Mesa, having a nice song and the right mindset to her goes a long way.

Sadly she cant afk or at least stand still more that 1 second at netracells, cus mana drain and aoe explosions fking everywhere, eximus, lightnings, and homing oneshotting void explosions, all that doesnt care about your invis and you really cant avoid it all, cus its everywhere, so im literally sitting in operator 90% of the time, just recasting my abilities. I like that in game called warframe i cant play as warframe but can as invincible human mf.
i dont get the whole "crouch spamming" thing. i mean you really don't need to. she has the longest invisibility in the game apart from ivara. if you want you can make it last a minute by building duration while still having positive range
also most the time if you are playing the game and bullet jumping around you will just passively get the buff if you are running a fast track. if you choose to afk that's just on you.
you're literally always spamming crouch and roll anyway when you're bullet jumping so idk what the problem is, i just press it 3-4 times from time to time and i'm always invisible

yeah, spamming crouch is hurting my pinky. when im too lazy I just bring my huras kubrow with me, so I got stealth without crouching :)
I just built her this week. Never played her before. Did a steel path mission with no mods lol. She’s broken as hell.
Only thing dont keep walking in front of that mallet lvl cap will make that dangerous to shields and health

i also dont know why you dont use corrosive projection for aura to help with how fast you can start doing dmg to health of enemies
I replaced Resonator with Pillage. Watching enemies attack the music notes then die is hilarious.

I keep her pretty stock, shes useful on the circuit if you dont get any good frame/weapon combos, thats about it for me.
Its a good frame for beginners who doesn't have access to good weapons and mods.

A lot of my interactions boiled down to pressing the buttons and everything kind of just dies Octavia frame when I need to get something done, but I’m not trying to be present for the game and she’s kind of falling by the wayside for me, but it really depends
On a positive note (see what I did there😂) she seems like an awesome option for mobile players. Going to set up a build for that train ride commute.
Ppl need to stop with the " OH MY GOD SHE'S SO BORING " chants because sometimes if you want to text someone or watch a yt video alongside getting some resources Octavia is the best
If that's your opinion that's cool man, different strokes, for that kind of gameplay hydroid or khora are the warframes i usually choose because they are made for farming afk without the whole carpal tunnel syndrome thing, but again, im not trying to discourage you from playing her, I just think she could use an update to her 3 and possibly 4, but 3 mostly
Iam not a real Octavia Main - but i do enjoy her.
On topic of the Metronome - Its really hard to hit the Beat.
For the most part - thats also solveable - Its just i mute my Octavia aswell as other ones.. cause the Music can get annoying (kicker for me was her subsume - since just one part of a song is.. kidna annoying).
I would love a augment that makes her 4 move with her... would be sick and improve the gameplay.
Hitting the Beat when i play here (even muted) i came to the conclusion u need a decent 'song' / for me thats usual not the all around Fast tunes with 'beats' all the time. but rather a tad slower ones.. Like for Example 'Shake it Off' or 'Falling Stars' or my Favorit - Pursue of Happiness.
Cause then since thats part of your Complain - U really need a good 'beat' to move to -> I can corporate my movement kinda to the Beat.Slower Tracks doenst need as many 'perfect actions' as to fast ones.
so u can kinda get into the habit of Toss ur crap out -> Shoot Things -> 1 .. 2 .. -> Jump+crouch in air -> Shoot stuff for 2-3 seconds -> Jump+Crouch to next position.
but ye.. just my 2 cents on the topic :')

She was made before they added multi-part abilities. Ex vauban's 2, jade's 2, etc. If they ddi the same thing with octavia it would be nice. You could make it similar to jade where its only one at a time or you could so something similar to titania where she can have all of them. I think mallet and resonator are weird with her kit. If her mallet could provide direct survivability instead of just draw enemy fire i think she would stop being a perma invis warframe and be more active.

i agree thaat the invis should either just be given when you cst metroklnome or haave it be aa hold or tap maybe meetranome can be a heelp to her fourth if your not using it for the invis or maybe split up thee 4 buffs between hold and taap 2 for holding 2 for tapping plus the sounds from metanome adds tot he fourth abilities but to me i max out strength and duration but still put some into range but duration is more important to me then range obviously6 i want range but i hate havign to recast all the stuff every 20 seconds so every 35 seconds feels betteer
As an Octavia main (50% usage) to me can get boring but i mainly play her for the theme of the frame and her easy use, the whole idea of a music frame is very cool to me, so i stick with her. i can farm long missions while during off my brain and maxing her duration. i also find the Mandachord fun to play around with. I've made many builds with her and tried to change her playstyle but it always ends up mostly the same. Personally i don't mind the crouch spam for me, been doing it for so long it's like second nature. it is hard to play with a squad that's nuking every enemy in sight so i just the playstyle a bit just focusing on buffing myself with like max strength, all her issues u mentions are very real, as am Octavia main i think we just cope really hard and try our best to find the fun in her, her concept is amazing just he playstyle sucks, your ideas for buffs are amazing and would love to see them added, i am just worried to ask for any change in general DE might just nerf her hard instead of making or more playable or fun. (crouch spam might be easier on controller too i find)
"how fast can you spam crouch?" Like yes she's stupid powerful but that crouching. is why I dont like playing her.
I am not a Octavia main, but the only reason I don't like Octavia is because of her utter stationary-ness, I am fine with the conditionals for the buffs, I'm fine with the boringness that comes with her damage dealing, but man, I hate being stationary
Am wonder if use mallet combo with qorvex skill2 pillar that confuse status those confuse will take hit more dmg? or killing each other faster?
I feel like Xaku with quiver is basically the same thing as Octavia but better :)

so I just put quiver on Octavia 3 and it actually works pretty well I went negative range and efficiency but it doesn't matter the range on her 1 with 4 active is still pretty big, with vazrin and rolling guard I can just go and collect loot loot pretty safety once in a while I also have primed redirection + adaptation for general survivability when I moving throw the level also using shade prime for good measures lol well still experimenting with the setup but so far so good
Ensnare octavia is fun when u got some aoe weapons . Macro the crouch spam on a mouse thumb button for quality of life. Her 1 and 4 as agro dump utility and just have fun while you make sure your music is muted xD also i turned her energy colors dark blue so that the 3 doesnt give me seizures :))

To me it seems like you're saying that the best way to make Octavia fun is to do less to make her op. If this hero is going to be fun she's going to need a rework clearly. But the price of playing such a broken frame is that it's not fun to do which is in my opinion the most obscure but best way to balance the warframe.
I would rather have her not be OP but fun, easy choice
I don't play Octavia cause she's boring. Press 1, 2, 3, 4, then repeat. I tried subsuming her 1 off so at least enemies wouldn't kill themselves while I AFK but still, boring as hell

Yea it's decent, but its just in a line opposed to the radius from pillage, pillage is nice since she already does radial damage, on a normal warframe I usually prefer ophanim though :)

I main octavia and i dont crouch spam. I use shade as my perma invis (99% uptime in sp survival).
I like to call her a sleeper frame. Shes so boring i fall asleep. That doesnt mean shes bad, shes just too op to NOT be boring

As former Octavia Main, I partially disagree with your take. It seems to me, that most of your problems stems from not understanding, how Mandachord works. The thing is - the placement of notes matters. By strategically placing notes you could make that just by shooting and jumping as usual - you get the buffs. When I played Octavia, my teammates received buffs just by being near me and jumping and shooting as usual. Complaint about Octavia that she is not mobile is also feels strange to me - just recast your abilities in new room, it is not that expensive. My main problem with Octavia - she is too passive. It was fun at first, but then it became boring. I like using abilities more actively.
A very simple crouch spam macro solves the issue of getting finger cramps and the other buffs are all on 100% of the time when you setup your song right (have a note in every space) The trick to not getting bored with her is using her mallet as a cc tool and use the great buffs to deal damage yourself, glaives for example are greatly buffed and for me it is fun setting a killzone and move a bit away and kill stuff yourself, super effective and imho fun. Octavia is my fourth most played frame after Ash, Dante and Mesa, having a nice song and the right mindset to her goes a long way.

Never was able to get into Octavia. Don’t like her play style. I’ve always considered Saryn to be the most powerful frame in the game

Sadly she cant afk or at least stand still more that 1 second at netracells, cus mana drain and aoe explosions fking everywhere, eximus, lightnings, and homing oneshotting void explosions, all that doesnt care about your invis and you really cant avoid it all, cus its everywhere, so im literally sitting in operator 90% of the time, just recasting my abilities. I like that in game called warframe i cant play as warframe but can as invincible human mf.
i dont get the whole "crouch spamming" thing. i mean you really don't need to. she has the longest invisibility in the game apart from ivara. if you want you can make it last a minute by building duration while still having positive range
also most the time if you are playing the game and bullet jumping around you will just passively get the buff if you are running a fast track. if you choose to afk that's just on you.

you're literally always spamming crouch and roll anyway when you're bullet jumping so idk what the problem is, i just press it 3-4 times from time to time and i'm always invisible
