    When we were kids and full of ourselves, we did just what you did to have fun, strip all of the interior and doors, etc and then go jump them in the cow pastures. I am seventy four now and really wish we had known just how much cars were going to change. I started with my first car being a forty ford and from there was a bunch of rigs from the fifties. Yeah I had all the tri fives but I was a ford guy so the fifty seven was my dream car. By nineteen sixty four, I realized a lot more being fifteen and a pocket full of money from working full time as a mechanic for my dad on logging equipment so killing a few cars did teach me a ton and no I did not hurt any more rigs. I was drafted in sixty six and had bought a sixty three ford galaxie two door hard top rig and when I got home in sixty nine, made that rig brand new again. I never knew much about dodges or their lineup as dad was a dodge guy/chrysler to be exact. I was born in the back seat of a forty seven chrysler and kind of remember that red leather interior for some odd reason. I didn't like any four door rigs then as it just wasn't cool. Dad always had four door sedans, plymouth or dodges and six cylinder engines till many years later when he had money. Then it was the biggest V8's they had. I will say honestly that the fifty nine dodge two door hardtop was the prettiest car I ever seen when it was new. This rig ought to be one cool looking rig

    That's actually pretty good compression for that engine ... pretty even too ... obviously the old 4x4 under the roof rails trick ... some people shouldn't be allowed around tools ... I'm liken the plan so far ... give 'er hell ... and have a great Christmas ...

    I'm excited about this, its a direction few attempt, especially with the chop. I've seen lots of 2 door conversions on 50s cars, mostly Chevies but never a Chrysler with the chop. I can't wait to see your methods but also style implements on the roof, glass slanting and side profile. You came up with a great way to overcome the roof and door opening damage.

    • @iNVisionPrototypes
      @iNVisionPrototypes  ปีที่แล้ว

      2 door conversions are a bit tricky to get right since most 4 door roofs are more squarish in the rear and need a little massaging. We'll see how things go here. First time doing a Chrysler! Thanks for watching and all the best in the New Year!!

    I like the plan. To add power brakes, you might look into adapting electric power from a 2018 or later Honda Accord. It might be possible to hide it inside your bellows, so everything
    appears stock. I plan to try this when the opportunity arises. It's a Bosch system, also used on BMWs, but of course, lots cheaper if you get it from a salvage Honda. SuperFast Matt, here on TH-cam explains how he put it on a 50's Jaguar big car.

    With respect to my last post, It's nice to see we, :), are all on the same page - short rear deck, keep the fins and keep the front long, just like the first mid sixties muscle al la mustang, camaro barracuda etc. Lee Iacocca is smiling.

    Hi Nick, cool ideas you have for the car. Here in Australia in the early 70’s our muscle cars were either a Holden Monaro (2 door coupe) or the Ford Falcon XY GTHO phase 3 (4 door. Rated as the world’s fastest 4 door for its time). So yes we had a 4 door muscle car. Going to be following with great interest

    I have the greatest confidence that you will not Chad the build on this car. We used to install an accesory windshield fluid bag, that you could buy at Woolco, under the hood. With an aftermarket pump installed and a button on the dash you would then pump rye and coke to a hose stashed underneath the dash.

    You could always send an oil sample for testing to see if the bearings are going bad if you still have some of the old stuff left. Trucking companies do it on a regular basis. You can also buy a test kit from a bunch of different places.

    • @iNVisionPrototypes
      @iNVisionPrototypes  ปีที่แล้ว

      In my previous life we used to do that for clients' CAT equipment. Perhaps after it runs on this oil we'll do that. Thanks for watching!!

  • @willwade1101
    @willwade1101 ปีที่แล้ว

    Drill holes in the brackets, trim sheet metal back some in the inner fenders, lighten the frame with holes, even remove metal from the brake drums between the bolts and the brake surface like the old model A drums. My uncle did all that with his hot rods.

    Way back in the day, we would run a quart or two of diesel fuel in the motor oil, and some in the gas😊
    It would really clean the lifters and rings.

  • @DanDoge-wp7uj
    @DanDoge-wp7uj ปีที่แล้ว +1

    They made a Nascar Convertible. Lose the weight on the roof. Shorten up the body. Tourney cover. No back seat. No side windows . No rear window. No inner door structures. I like the roll bar they put in it. Fiberglass bumpers. Numbers on the door. Fuel injection system. Holley sniper2. Maybe a little nitro bottle.. that would look cool A summer run car. Maybe a detachable lightweight frame fitted with convertabile material for suspect summer days. Lowered. Side pipes. Widened steel rims. A fast build. Good luck.
