I love that you button up all the details and show us a complete car at the end. I follow several custom builders on TH-cam, each for a different reason. I take everyone as they are. But you do the most complete work.
Thank you Jack!! I enjoy sharing what we do with like minded people who watch YT ... not for YT and trying to keep the algorithm happy... Much more to come on the 300i as well as a few new projects we're starting this year. I appreciate your support!!
My dad had a 1968 T-Bird 2 door landau with the 429 Thunder Jet. It was loaded. My Mom’s dad told my dad that “this is a fine automobile.” That is how I would describe the Simi Hemi 300i custom 2 door you are building. The front and ream bucket seats with consoles adds a touch of elegance. Love the color.
Maybe not this build but a future one. Should have a crappy old radio on the front. A push of a button it pops out, rotates 180° and has an led screen. Would have a real “get smart” feel to it haha. Lovin it Nick!
I rewired my '33 Plymouth, long table, roll of wall lining paper, cloured pens and one hell of a lot of head scratching. Quite amazing the difference 23 years makes!
Its coming along nicely Nick, cant wait to see the outside walk around now that its in paint but I guess that will be very weather dependant now up your way, anyway great work. Cheers Greg
Wow Nick, what a transformation! Great choice of colour, looks really good with the accent stripes! Looks like you have a handle on the wiring, it can be a bit of a nightmare, nice job! Thanks for the video and have a great weekend!
Wow Nick...you get done in 6 months what it takes most 6 years! Appreciate you covering all the details. We're looking forward to the finished walk around. How about bringing that car to Detroit AutoRama in March? Give some of us a chance to see the car and meet in person.
Wiring is one of my favorite parts ... looks like you got it handled ... I won't mention anything about door solenoids ... you know my feelings on that ... one thing on those electric fans they have a pretty good draw so the shorter the better wire ... I use old 70's GM harnesses so most of the figuring out is done for me ... I hooked the fan up to a 30 amp fuse for the AC with a relay under the dash ... although the fan was still working it melted the plastic part of it so it was drooping off the terminal ... as far as the car ... my old bodyman friend always said ... if you can't get it straight ... paint it white ... ... had to jab ya a little bit ... it does look cool ... remember ... I get shotgun ...
Thanks for the tip on the fan relay Joe!! Definitely keep an eye on that. If it makes you feel any better the trunk key got shaved ;) Thanks for your support!
The car is coming along very nicely. I designed wiring and electrical equipment installations on the V-22 Osprey among other airplanes and doing wiring is fun in my opinion. Just take it one circuit at a time. Your wiring kit had separate backup light wires for the left and right sides because some cars have backup lights in both the left and right light assemblies. This keeps you from daisy chaining from one light to the next. The wiring looks clean and well organized just like the rest of the car. I like the hockey sticks too as it is the mark of a classic Hot Rod Chrysler.
I respect your work, especially metal. I too tho can do this wiring and so its a challenge yes if in a great hurry. A favorite beverage, most generally I say leave the "wobble pop" at home when doing this. I do like they are making new harnesses for vehicles now. I used the basic colors, and colored zip ties to do that and also vacuum lines as they are much harder on some vehicles than those older non computerized autos. To have them labeled is just spoiling ya. Oh this is looking good. I have went through so many medical challenges and worried that I would not get to see this. Great things happening here Nick.
Sorry! It went something like this.. mask, wash, wash some more...white base... more masking, cherry red, unmask....fix a few leakies and finally splash on some clear. Thanks for the thumbs up!
Unless I’ve missed a video or several I hadn’t seen the car painted yet! It looks great in white (Alpine White is that the BMW color?) with the red accents! Nice job!
I keep picturing a Chrysler square style steering wheel in this car. I recall there are numerous styles from around 1960 to about 1964(?) for Imperial, Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth. I have no idea how hard it is to source one but I suspect it would be very appropriate to this car. Agree?
Did you rebuild the semi hemi engine? Any upgrades to get more power? How about the tranny? I recall you are using a Ford Explorer rear end to get disc brakes?
Checked all the vitals. No metal in the oil. Gave it a shoe shine and gonna run it as is. Same as the tranny. I built a custom drive shaft to mate with the Ford 8.8 rear end.
That was a sneaky move. Nice work Nick and Dad. Boom
I like surprises!! Thanks for the thumbs up.
Looking fantastic!
Love colour/accents.
Thank you very much!!
You ain't a shitting you jumped ahead. Very nice paint job. Thanks for showing that this process takes almost a year to do.
Thank you very much!!
Abra-cadabbra …A painted car! Wow, what a transformation. Looks great.
Magical transformation and a whole heck of a lot of work behind the scenes. Thanks you!!
Poetry in motion, thankyou for sharing!😄
I appreciate your support!!

OMG you have been hard at it, well done Nick and your dad and I love the red accents they set it off and highlight the lines, well done.
Yes Sir!! A lot of late nights and weekends. Thanks very much!!

Wow Nick! IT LOOKS AMAZING 👏 😍 like overhaulin show without the drama. Love it bud!
You bet! Love your support!
Great progress and really admire your patience, and understanding of the wiring loom, to me it may as well be Latin script! 👍
Thanks!! Look at it from the perspective of one wire at a time.
Awesome project!!!
Thank you Gary!!

did you paint it Nick? Looks great in that color!
Yup. Alpine White is an off-white. Don't look like an appliance. Thank you!!
it is getting there. 👍
Soon! :D
Seriously cool!!!
Thank you!!
WOW!!!!!!!
Thank you!!
Wait, did I skip a video? When did you paint it?
While you were sleeping! LOL!! Sorry, no videos of me painting the car.
Nice nice ! ! !
Thank you! Cheers!
1 of a Kind
Thank you!
Dang ii looks awesome. I wish youd shown more videos of it being painted tho.
Sorry! It went something like this.. mask, wash, wash some more...white base... more masking, cherry red, unmask....fix a few leakies and finally splash on some clear. Thanks for the thumbs up!

Surprise!! Alpine White aka Spinnaker EW1 is a classic MoPar color.
I like just the plain steel wheels and would simply add simple small dog dish style hub caps!
Yes Sir!!
Woow woow wooow
Glad you like it!! Cheers!
Just checkin in so y'all wouldn't be worried.
Thanks for watching Steve!!
It's odd that I can't recall ever seeing content like this before! It doesn't seem to be that scarey after all. 😅😂
ah?
Love the paint as it shows all the great metal work. Are you putting in a hemi style shaker scoop?
Yes, we're going to build a shaker scoop tailored for this car from scratch. Thanks for the thumbs up!
I had seen a small mpg projector that plugs into the Obd port. Just sits in the dash above the steering wheel
would be cool... if this old girl had an OBD.
Wait a second, I don't recall you painting it. Hey Nick, what paint did you use on this?
Surprise!! BC/CC
It looks like you are keeping the push-button gear selector.
Yep. It's part of the classic design... for now. We'll see how it works out. Love the sound and look of the Semi Hemi.

Check if Dakota Digital makes a guage set for this car, that would be kool.
Will do! Something like that can always be upgraded at a later time :D
At first I thought I missed some episodes, so much done off camera.
Yes Sir!
Are you putting A/C in the car? How're you gonna incorporate it?
It has C/V. Slide the lever under the dash to the right and the cowl vent opens. Need more air, pop open the 2 firewall damper doors 😄😄
👍😊
Hey Sam!! Thanks for watching.
Nice paint, dash is a beauty, the interior @32:43 is "tits", love the car. 8^)
Thank you!!
We missed a big step
Sorry. I will see what I can do when we get to building the new steering wheel ;) Cheers!
Did I time travel or did I just wake up?
Let's go with time travel. lol!
Thanks for watching!!
Not a fan of the shaker
Thanks for watching!!
