I just got the kit from Andy last week and I am installing it today but the dial pin or pipe that is under the blower to align the blower is hitting so I guess I am going to cut it off. What did you do to clear that alignment pin?
@@shortstackgarage2063 Thanks for the fast reply I am waiting on a reply from andy but you just told me what I needed. . I see that you are running 140 deg IAT I live in Houston and normally run 90-120 so I will see what the temp does once I am running it and let you know. Thanks
Jandmonline you’re welcome! Yes, my IAT’s are high! If there’s one thing I can suggest, it’s a bigger intercooler reservoir. I’m working on getting one myself. If you have any questions you can always message me on Instagram @shortstackgarage.
@@shortstackgarage2063 How did you change the Map sensor config. I do not see a way to check the resistance or do you have to check it prior to installing it. Is there a tune that has it in it already as I have a tune for a whipple with a 3 bar and it goes up to 49K where mine goes to 43K???
Jandmonline th-cam.com/video/V-oAKcVawHk/w-d-xo.html I followed this link and he tells you what to change in HP tuners. Is that what you’re asking? Also have you installed a breakout harness and an lt4 map sensor? After I did this, I had someone tune the truck for me. His name is Ben Charles from the HP tuners forum. He does a great job.
How do you get the back bolts on the cover? I just left them off as I cant get to them, Did you have any luck putting them on? I first started mine up and drove it to have my pump stop and my IAT got to 180 so I have it bleed out now and runs around 115 deg . I guess I need a ice tank or a bigger reservoir. Did you ever get a larger one? I am getting some noise that is coming through the heater hose that I took off and the pipe stud is hitting the lid so when the valve is open for the heat you hear it but as soon as the valve closes it goes away so I need to fix that. I did get it tuned and its running around 6 psi boost but I have not got on it yet so that may go up as I only got it to 3200 rpm so far. Let me know how you are doing with yours and thanks for all the help as Andy will not answer my emails anymore, I guess he got his money and does not have time for me now.
The back bolts are a bit of a pain. I reached my arm behind the supercharger while laying on top of the truck to get them in. One thing I saw that fasterproms did on TH-cam was to make the back holes slotted, so that way he could put the back bolts on, and slide the cover on with the bolts on the supercharger, then tighten them down. A 10mm ratchet wrench is almost a must to tighten them. I got mine at Home Depot for $8. As far as the tank, I haven’t replaced mine. You may have some air in your system. Have you opened the little bleeder screws on the coolant passage on top of the supercharger?
@@shortstackgarage2063 I did have air but I opened the bleeders and I put a pipe with a QC cap from a corvette and I can open it and fill the inlet line to the supercharger and that got all my air out finally and the pump does not shut off anymore and seems to stay around 115 deg now but that seems to high to me. I used the AC Delco coolant they say use and put water bottle water in it but I mixed it like 70/30 with 70 the coolant. I know they say 50/50 but I do notice some foam in the reservoir.
I too have done this LT4 swap, Jokerz ported. Brett's awesome. One thing you may run into us IAT temps. That reservoir is way too small. Look into the Cordes Performance tank. I'm trying to work through the issue myself. cordesperformanceracing.com/product/cpr-2014-gm-truck-ice-tank/
younggun484 I couldn’t agree more on Brett! As soon as I have the funds, the blower will go back for the full tilt! It’s funny you mention that, because I thought the IAT’s were a little high, especially with this Texas heat. Thanks for the suggestion, because I have been brainstorming on what to do to bring the IAT’s down. Where did you mount your pump?
I'm using the cordes performance 3gal reservoir which mounts in the driver side battery tray. But I'm also using a FI Interchiller for the IATs. Its not cheap. I went kinda all out... lol
@@shortstackgarage2063 well, here's the thing. I'm not sure what the reservoir alone would help do, but it will help. If you have a good heat exchanger it too should help, but this year blower carries a lot of heat. I'm trying to dial in my FI Interchiller. Prior to I was seeing temps in the 170+. Get yourself a thermal blanket and wrap the bottom side of the blower. Its on my to do list. Any way to isolate heat from absorbing into the blower case should help. My dilemma is im not sure that the IATs are true or a calculated number. Still trying to figure out how the breakout harness is working.
Congrats can't wait to see the first drive and to see what it puts on the dyno
cwc Z71 Thanks! I cant wait either! Ready to hear that supercharger whine!!!

Jandmonline I just cut it off! Actually I more or less broke it off in pieces. But yes, you have to get rid of it!

Jandmonline what are the outside temps where you live? Mine runs at about 120 during normal driving when it’s 95 degrees outside.
