Before (regularly) watching High Peak Autos, I always thought used car salespeople were, well, always out to sell dodgy cars with the absolute minimum spend/effort/consideration and effectively screwing the next unlikely punter who comes along next. Well I was completely wrong there and I hope there are plenty more like Matt out there (where exactly??) ! Matt has also restored my faith in humanity as clearly it's not just a business to him. This is due to most if not all costs being paid for by views. It's unusual for a dealer to do all the work needed as it would eat into profit. Matt can massively overspend almost every time as he recoups the cost from TH-cam.

I've had numerous dents removed over the years and they usually plug the holes with rubber grommets afterwards to prevent any corrosion issues. Ultimately there's no other way of getting to the dents if they can't get behind the panel so a small price to pay.

Nice video - bought the same colour combo a year ago but for £5K with a manual when prices were a little lower. Interesting video, enjoyed watching it. I used to own the exact same model (2010 black with oyster) and agree with most of your comments. I think where we differ is how the car drives, I thought the whole driving experience is “numb” and never felt that fast. My car replaced a E92 335i, that car was far superior dynamically. Ultimately that’s why I only kept it a year and replaced it with something far more fun. The comical fuel consumption didn’t help either! Enjoy the car though, they do look stunning.

If it's anything like the Mk2 TT of the same era, the window regulators wouldn't be worn - the cables would be rusted and frayed (hence the crunching noise as the cables go around the pulleys) because Audi had the great idea of putting unprotected steel cables in the door where it's nice and damp.

This is just one beautiful car and great to see that the windows haven't had some awful after market tint put on them. The exterior colour is great and with the light leather interior rather than the traditional black, it looks stunning. This is a keeper.

Lovely car, great video. I love the sound of a V8 engine too. Here in London, you pay for the privilege of parking on the street you live on. Lambeth council charge you for the amount of emissiions your car gives out. BUT the car is parked. £237 a year to be able to park my BMW 520D MHT MSport on my road. I would love to own a V8 but the costs rocket to ridiculous prices. They are trying to get us out of our cars, and on to buses and trains which are packed or quite often not running.

Indeed they are! And one day perhaps even by 2030 if the WEF get their way and Govts cave in.. 'You will own nothing and be happy'! And have you heard of 15 minute cities, you won't being on buses nor trains, neither.

Nice video and a nice car. This yard meanwhile is definitely not a nice place for filming...and sorry Matt, but the "noise" of the V8 is hard to hear when you are insider the car and talking...maybe next time put a GoPro near the exhaust. And the driver side window of your pefectly cleaned car was pretty dirty which permanently caught my eye...

I had the same fuel flap actuator issue on my vw golf, it would take 2 or 3 clicks of the remote before opening which didn’t bother me until I heard it can lock altogether and then your in a world of 💩, so then I had it replaced

Hi Matt. Nice looking car, but it's made me think. You obviously use your local garage for servicing, but a lot of 'experts' will tell you that a car like this should only be touched by a dealer or marque specialist. What are your thoughts on this as both an owner and a dealer?
What do you think if a car like this comes to you with a full history, but done by an independent? Is it worth less?
My experience with main dealers is (generally) that they follow the schedule they're given by the manufacturer, whether it's the best option, or appropriate or not. Independent marque experts are fine, if you have access to one, but is it worth travelling? I have a trusted independent who is a mechanic (as opposed to a fitter) who understands the basics and deals with them appropriately, discussing the options with me. As a result, filters tend to be changed more regularly.
Interested to hear your views. Thanks.
