the best way to upgrade material on your ship is: select the whole ship except the root block (select all and unselect root block with ctrl) and save it as a template. delete old blocks and build the template from whatever material you desire. nice thing is, if your material of choice doesn't have certain block, usually armor, the template will use the best armor material possible instead.
Lathrix, you should make your 'own faction. 'Claim a system' and make a load of different factories to build an economy. The trick is that you can only sell what you make, so you can still trade, but it won't be as overpowered because you have to work very hard to get to the higher tier goods.
That is why I don't use collision damage, at least not until the movement is smoothed out. Also, if you use the speed bypass in your escort ships, they usually stay fairly close to you, it also makes sending them out to mine a hell of a lot more productive. For mining, I build a small external crew quarters on the bottom of my ship that I can delete at any time to bring crew to mining locations faster in a bigger ship. Then I use a fleet of small iron ships I call IGNIS 1-4 with a few naonite blocks to mine faster and better. Then just strip the parts and scrap them down, then move to the next grid point. All you have to do is defend them.
Lathrix, you have tarantulas? +500 reputation! Tortoise? +1000 reputation! Gecko? +9001 reputation! Just curious, what kind of gecko? I have a Beardie, her name is Zebulina and she is very enthusiastic about dandelions.
Lath since you gave your ships the names of your pets you can just imagine that they aren't the names of the ships but the names of the captains flying them. For example imagine Lipton is a humanoid tortoise like alien flying the ship. You do tend to talk to your ships like they are living things anyway.
The new flight mechanics really only work with the limiter removal CPU core, getting 14,000 m/s while launching missiles or kinetic weapons as you pass by the target is absolutely fun as hell in any ship size. Do know physical weapons speed and effective range is increased by your ships speed, it's interesting when firing seekers and they fly off and travel 80km into a target at insane speed.
2 things you missed. 1st in the game options there is a couple of buttons for inertia markers this really helps by defining your drifting direction and your counter thrust direction. 2nd if your nice to the adventurer he gives you a basic hidden mass sector module.
LATHLAND PLEASE READ THIS, right i did some math on the research system, so for the sake of easy we will say the chance of going up a tier with 3 is 50/50 (so your a bit unlucky), going up 1 tier on average will take 6 as oppose to 5 guaranteed, this is the only time the 5 is better, allow me to explain. going up 2 tiers (e.g from rare to exotic) with 3 will be 18 (9x2 cos 50/50 odds), meanwhile 5x5 is 25, see what i'm getting at? Now 3 tiers (from rare to legendary) is where things really show 3x3x3x2=54, 5x5x5=125 items used on average! You would have to be insanely unlucky to out do those odds. I may have got this wrong so if anyone can find problems feel free to correct me. I hope this can help you get a space bargin :) .

I think it should be called the "pigeon" Because it's a small bird that's almost harmless and likes to eat medium to small asteroids, and it's graceful!
I notice during my own play through of a new map that Force Turrets and certain modules tend to go for 3-8x's the sale price of other similar turrets and items. Keep your eye out Lathrix! You may be able to make more fair profit off turret sales since you're not going down the trading routes.

13:55 omg that happened to me as well, except I was much further away from the sector than you were. Don't worry, you can go back and get your systems and weapons, they will still be there. What happened to me was I found my first secret stash and I was so excited that I boosted right towards it and rammed straight into an asteroid 😭😂. It took me almost an hour to get back to my dead ship to retrieve all of my stuff

Dear Lathrix, I think you should only make one block on each of them a different color, so you can keep the fleet-like aesthetic. Do you remember when you changed that one block on the side of the cockpit? Now you know what I'm thinking about. Also you can use different colored glow block which can see easier from a distant.
Aaregon you can actually reach them, they are roughly 500 to 1,000 kilometers away from the sectors general area. Thats from personal experience. I tried to get to 3 different planets, the first, which i almost crashed into was about 550 km, the second, which i got close to but didnt crash was about 700 km and the third which i also got close to was about 950 km. Now, in order to prove this, i can tell you to boot up your game, go into tactical camera, and scroll your way over towards a planet, your camera should clip right trough it. However i dont think it is actually possible to collide with them i know for a fact you can get very close to them. And i dont want to test colliding with them because i dont want to lose my crew and upgrades for my star destroyer. This actually gave me a pretty weird question, could you reach the super massive black hole in the middle of the galaxy and crash into that? That would be a really cool way to end a youtube series, flying into the black hole... LATHRIX! DO THIS AT THE END OF THIS SEASON! FOR SCIENCE! And yes, i do realise i made this unnecessarily long XD

When I saw the iron asteroid you found it reminded me that I found a asteroid it had more than 200,000 iron in it (it took me about 1 hour for my mining drone with a captain to mine it also had 4 mining lasers).

if you want your miner drowns to be able to go fast to be able to move from asteroid to asteroid quick put a velocity security control bypass in as one of their systems
you should try to build some of your ships to look like ships from the diffrent races in Mass Effect, i think it would be cool to see you try to build some of the ships with the circular ring.
Make a fleet of different class ships, only thing you need to make the same, or almost the same is the hyperspace engine. Probably make one independent of the ship then load it in for each ship and build around it.
not sure if you ment this but the fact you built 4 fighter like ships and are planning to build a flag ship, and said in a earlier video they kinda look like star fox ships... "look it's the mercenaries. it Star Lathrix."

I do believe that when a station takes enough damage, a set of guardians will automatically show up to protect said station.

It's painful it happened to me once for some reason I gained a bunch of new turrets and systems at the wreckage and They were exceptional

Armour is much better than regular blocks when it comes to taking fire, so you should still consider using it

The biggest resource asteroid I've seen as of yet was a 222k titanium one.
I've only ever seen two, both titanium, the first was 144k and the second 222k.

there are games in which you can switch between the "cruise mode"(no inertia canceling) and normal mode with inertia canceling. that would be good.

I do believe you literally scared yourself to death. Not much give to those asteroids. Small consolation I know but it was a pretty explosion
