Hey everyone! So this video took longer to record than I think any video on this channel and It was a BLAST to record! I really hope you enjoy It too!! Now for a few quick notes! - My mic was playing up during the recording so some sections have a bit of a fuzzy sound to them, sorry! - At the end of the video the last fight is in the sandbox mode since I just wanted to test vs the Event Horizon but I forgot to record a section explaining that.. somehow.
is there any possibility of you making a proper tutorial video on the breadboard? i have been trying to learn but it usually ends up with my craft going ballistics
Fun fact, you can add an origin block to your mech's torso, which helps prevent it from shifting its center of Grabity everywhere its arms move. Its what prevents the twin guards from having that issue.
I love how Lath's mech came out so... lathy. It's not like the twin guard with all their fancy moving bits and lightshow shenianigans. It's a block of metal with guns. And sometimes that's all a person needs in life
Adventure idea: you are Orks. You are not allowed to unbuild or replace anything. You are only allowed to just keep adding more. It will likely end up looking somewhat like that "flying weapons platform."
From the Depths is a series I would love to see continued. I'd like to introduce your next challenge should you choose to accept it. A Scavenger run. You can build whatever vessel you like, but you can't build weapons yourself. All weapons must be stolen from destroyed vessels using the prefab function (probably will require a quick trip to the sandbox to get it, that's totally fine), simple weapons are fine too. Can you defeat all who stand in your way with nothing but the very weapons they held against you?
he said like, once? that he wondered if we wanted to see more FTD, so now we chant "From The Depths is a series I would like to see continued" so he makes more ftd content :) @@scale10-47

the most intimidating thing about this approaching you is the terrifying strength of all the data links between all your drones to share detection data "sir we're picking up some low frequency radio noise, theres a target near us... wait, no, its getting much stronger... OH GOD rhats a lot of noise... CAPTAIN, WE HAVE A PROBLEM"
I'd love a limit break challenge, where there's no ship value limit and all gathered resources have to be spent on upgrades before moving to the next difficulty, and there can be only one weapons system of each type (or archetype/purpose). I wanna see some ridiculous, powerful, rapid fire designs that grow with each battle. Bonus points if the ship and/or drones break the size limits as well (longest/widest/tallest/heaviest/lightest possible construction).
The enemy vessels getting surrounded by all the different drones really helped in killing them, especially towards the end where the enemies are a lot tougher to take down. It does mean that you're not getting all the hits on one target, but it means that you can target multiple weapons at once. Also, build more Borg Cubes. They're fun to look at & could maybe be made to stack together to create a floating wall of guns.
From one Borg Cube maker to another i salute your decision to embrace geometry based combat. I also find it amusing that not only did you also give it 4 lasers and a PAC but placed them in roughly the same spots as i did(but my model has them on all 4 sides and is a lot larger since i made it a Capital Ship)
I love how he says he’s never done drones before and a few minutes later he says I’m gonna do something I’ve done 1 million times a little airplane with missiles.
Lathrix, if you do a broadside craft with tons of particle cannons or lasers, if they’re on the same AI then they all target one spot, but if each were to have their own AI… It’s seriously a lot of fun as it makes it feel like you’re using simple weapon cannons but they all fire accurately and hit for so much more! LOVE the videos,I stopped watching for a few years and man has your format changed.. Hope to see FtD Neter 2024! I’ve already finished my rewatch of 2017…
@trulers8713 yeah the armour just modifies the damage done its impossible to deal zero damage but the 18mm would be doing one damage meaning up to 1000 shots to kill a piece of metal armour so it will be very slow without lots of incredibly high rpm guns
@@Popchip99 you can actually do 0 damage. It is noticeable with he and especially flak in small caliber aps. The ap and damage are so low that you don't do anything like 75% of the time.
From The Depths was the first thing I saw on your channel, you actually introduced me to the game. I'd never even heard if it before the youtube algorithm popped your channel up on my feed. I just want to say the level of effort and dedication you show with your videos does not go unnoticed and it is appreciated. Thank you for all of your hard work and passion with the content you create. I cant wait to see the next FYD video you make!
My idea for next challenge: Disposable drones only, you are not allowed to attach any drones back to your main craft and you can't repair them at all. I think that would restrict your materials you spend on the drones on it's own so that's all the rules. Even the particle cannon is allowed since it's expensive and the drones purpose is to die, if you want to make the challenge harder though you can add a rule that will disallow nukes. (Sorry that i suggest a drone challenge under a drone challenge video, but i hope you will use this some day)
yeah, I want to do the same. Despite how often I use rudders I never knew they could make things fly. I really should have known considering I knew how the force calculations work for the large rudders.
Seriously thank you for the longform content. That its FTD makes ut all the better, and that it's you making that content, even more so. I'm happy to say I've been around here for years and years and years and so have you and it's fantastic to still be here on our from the depths journey. ❤
You know what I would love to see? A playthrough with no limits where he just doesn't hold back. Just straight up deleting his opposition with his raw mastery of this game
Im excited to see how this goes! i have been watching your From The Depths videos ever since they came out when i was a kid (checking that was all the way in 2014... wow), and they eventually inspired me to get the game for myself, even though i havent quite gotten the handle on how to make a boat shape, im having fun learning some of the systems of the game, and its fun to see you take some of them to their limit!
This playthrough planted an idea in my tiny little brain. For your next challenge playthrough, i would love to see a "no movement playthrough" (except for going through portals of course) which emphasizes on creating a battle fortress strong enough to withstand the enemies that dare approach it. Use guns, use drones, use everything and anything you want to make this happen! With an adventure bell and a small craft for going through portals like in your space playthrough, i think this could make for a really interesting challenge! Love your videos Lathrix, keep up the good work. Looking forward to more Terratech as well ^^
I've made this suggestion several times, but here's hoping this is the time you notice it 😂 I'd love to see a run where you use exactly one of each type of weapon. Maybe start with one of your choice, then add a new one with each portal you enter so that you can't focus on making one or two uber-powerful and neglecting the others. In the later levels you'd have to use your best judgement to maintain balance between all the weapons, but I think it could still be really interesting. Another idea that I came up with while watching this video. A one shot wonder-craft. You often limit how many resources you gather in order to not become overpowered early on. I'd like to see a run where you lean into the OP potential and design a craft that has only alpha strike weapons, no rapid fire, no mid-battle reloading, the challenge is to kill every vessel you encounter with just one volley. You could pick whatever weapons you want to use and no limit on how many, but whatever you come up with has to be fire slow enough that you can't fire more than one broadside per minute. That also means no point defense, or rather, a very ineffective point defense because it will only fire one shot. Obviously the game can be a bit unpredictable, so I'd rule that if you cut an enemy in half and/or knock out its combat ability with one hit, but it is technically still online, you can count that as a kill for the purposes of the challenge.
Took me 3 days to finish this video, as i kept falling asleep late at night to your smooth voice, yet wanting to finish the video either way! I found you with from the depths videos and i will always love them lad!
Lath should definitely include a few more "how to" sections in the vids. Ex: how to combine the PID and button controls where you can fly around and still be super stable. OR how to change altitude to presets at one click
I remember first getting into PIDs and breadboard. It was a tough time at first, but lots of just trying stuff eventually had me working it all out. I'll have to re-teach myself now tho, been on hiatus for a long time now. Loading in other crafts, in-game and workshop ships, had me learning a lot too.
I've been watching through your From the Depths videos over the last few days and I've been enjoying them a lot! I always wanted to love FTD but bounced off it every time I tried, and it's so nice to see it.
Just a little run idea: one weapon only runs/gimmick runs are great, but can get a bit repetitive at times so instead of that, what if you did and ultra hard run, the rules of which would be something along the line of your craft can’t be more expensive than the least expensive craft in the difficulty. To do this, you would probably have to ignore nuke craft, and count drone swarm’s costs collectively.
1:09:23 I would love to see a particle cannon only run. The [weapon type] Only challenges/videos are definitely my favorite and what got me to subscribe. Specifically your deep dive into cram cannons. Good stuff!
22:47 The solution to this is to place an origin block in the craft. Doing this will ensure that it is always positioned exactly where you want it to be, regardless of its size or shape.
Great video! Now that you have made your archangel, I’d like to see a Mech full play through. Bonus points for moving limbs and parts! 2 arm weapons, 2 back weapons, and 1 more… maybe a hidden in the mouth weapon that fires plasma when mouth opens. All weapons must be different.
Idea: 'Drive closer! I wish to hit it with my sword!' Have you done a particle cannon blade melee build before? The only thing missing was a defense drone with lots of laser point defense, could have been a mech holding a shield that the emitters were embedded into. Great video as always.
After having watched you play this game since the old Neter campaign I finally decided to pick up FtD around Christmas. Since then I have spent over 20 hours in tutorials and designer and have yet to complete a single build lol. It’s still fun to build even though I have no idea what I’m doing, so thanks for making these videos I guess!
I believe the enemy at 50:30 is based off of the Atlantean lobster automaton from Atlantis. It’s also probably named Panic because in the movie it ambushes the sub the characters are on.
i like the idea of a run where you can only use a single weapon, and i'd consider a cluster of missiles a single weapon as long as they are connected and the same size.
Happy to hear this was fun to make with how fun it was to watch. On the topic of PArticle Cannons, maybe a limit on one big-ish super weapon you can add late in a run but otherwise avoid? I love them, but they are quite strong. Don't know how well you could get them to work but I would love to see some Mortars in the future, I love large HE artillery in general and there is something hilarious about a huge, slow firing, mortar.
^3 I would love to continue seeing From the Depths. And what I'd also like to see (and had hoped for in this video) is doing "drone-weapons" like we see during the intro; not independant, maneuvering vehicles but pods orbiting or tethered to the main craft. Not well suited for being the only rule of a run but doing some of it would be nice (imagine several miniguns hoverng around your craft).
Good show with the Vivace Edit it occurs to me you could have really indulged yourself here, and just brought your resource level back down to par before each portal.
Something I figured out upon getting FtD recently is that if you pause the game in adventure mode and then enter build mode, you can build while the game is paused. Only downside is the you can’t see how you rotated a block until you’ve interacted with something.
According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a drone should be able to fly. Its jets are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The drone, of course, flies anyway because drones don't care what humans think is impossible.
I've got one hell of a video idea challenge, I'm sure you remember the Ashes of the Empire campaign, right? Well, take the 2000K volume limit off so that this idea could in theory work, but you can only have 1 COMBAT CAPABLE VEHICLE. You may be allowed to have supply vehicles (If you're playing with Localized materials) and resource harvester creations, but again you cannot have any other vehicles that are able to fire weapons or ram the enemy, and to make it even more of a challenge, you can only do major changes once you defeat a faction, for example you can't completely re-design a vehicle's chassis until you defeat something like the Dustwind Gypsies or the Onyx Watch, I'm sure you would have a blast with it! If you do end up doing this idea, then I can't wait to see you build a huge lumbering vehicle on the ground! (Or air, your choice lol)
I'd love to see your next movie be one where you build a craft (whatever type or mode you want) that CANNOT get any bigger after level 30. You need to have the final size framed out and covered with wooden ar.or at the least before that point in the game. You can use any weapon, any defense, anything you want (invluding sandbox oncer per levelup), it just can't grow past that point.
@reliablyradioactiveraven6219 that's a better description of what I was meaning. But it can change since it is determined by how many resources he gathers and uses before level 30. Building a box or something would encourage him to have to go for resources and enough power to move it early on. And some of the resources would have to go into repairs, too. I don't think it would he impossible, but it would mean he had to put together a plan and stick to it more than just refitting every 2 levels. Edit: I like the videos, but this would change up the pace a bit, I think.
So what about a "Only one of each weapon" run? One Cram cannon, one plasma cannon, etc. What counts as "one missile launcher" would have to be defined, as I don't think a single missile would work. Also multibarrel weapons should be allowed, as long as they are on the same turret.
That was a fun episode; for some reason, I'm a huge fan of drones, so it's always great to see builds that feature, let alone focus on, them. I was hoping I'd get to see you make a knife drone, with a plasma melee weapon, but it seems I'll have to keep waiting. On a completely different topic, I have a suggestion for a challenge run that could be an interesting counterpoint to this run, though I'm not sure how well it would work in FtD. Mr. Protagonist Man: Build, and pilot, a ship that would be fitting for an anime protagonist. The main criteria is that your ship must be built for manual control, including manual aiming-Aiming, not targeting. You're going to need to get those shots to land yourself-To that end, missiles and drones are banned. As this is the protagonist's ship, it should be extremely fast and maneuverable, not just a big wall of armor with a grinder on the front, but beyond that you have a lot of flexibility when it comes to design and aesthetic. After all, no one said you have to be a Hero. There are also some optional modifiers, that could make it easier or harder: First Person: You must build a cockpit, with monitors, and use it to control your craft. You can set it up however you want, using whatever displays and information you want, but while you're in combat you must rely on what Rambot can see in the game. This modifier does not apply outside of combat or after you've confirmed your victory. It's not the size, it's how you use it: Everyone knows the protagonist's ship must be an extension of the protagonist, not some massive dreadnought. You're going to need to keep the body of your ship compact and tiny. I'll leave what that means up to you, but it should force you to make some serious compromises when it comes to things like armor and weapon hard points. Ultimate Weapon: One thing protagonists have going for them is their ultimate move; a super weapon or special technique that can be used to decisively turn the tides of battle, but it's not something that can be relied on. You are allowed to build one weapon system that breaks all of the other rules of this challenge. It also does not count against your normal resource limit. The catch is you can only fire it once per battle, regardless of how many enemies join or how long the battle goes. You also have to WIN a battle to recharge it; there's no reward for cowardice. -If you'd like to make it a little bit harder, you could limit it to only recharge when you go through a portal. White Base: Just because you're the protagonist doesn't mean you have to go it alone; you just have to do all the hard work. You're now allowed to have a mother ship or carrier of some sort. It's not allowed to attack or do anything offensive, but it can carry your resources and provide repair facilities. Also, if it gets destroyed by an enemy, you cannot rebuild it, so try not to let your allies die.
Nice. Really liked this run, and on top of everything else everyone has already said, I really liked the mechs! The head of the mech had a really cool design and had uncommon, creative weapons. I also personally think they did a lot more work than people seem to give credit for. :D
I love your videos, Lathland. I think my only wishlist for them is that you'd leave the names of the crafts you're fighting up slightly longer! It's cool to explore the different designs, but they're often only up for half a second. Even just a second or two longer would really help with not having to freeze the videos quite as precisely to check. Seriously though, you bring a lot of enjoyment to this viewer. :)
Lathrix, bulding a hydrofoil that ends up being an extremely stable flyer Me, whose dedicated planes can't go five seconds without nosediving into the water
@@Cas-Se78.97 hah, I actually tend to have the exact opposite issue with my builds, they are so stable that they are sometimes TOO stable and predictable that they almost act like a magnet to shots. they just go where the enemy thinks they will go without fail. It's sorta funny, recently I have been trying to learn how to build boats that act like boats instead of creepy static platforms that can only move up and down with the waves. If you are having trouble making stable flyers have you tried using _very_ weak PID systems? flyers are so light that any PIDs you use are very vulnerable to feedback loops due to overcorrecting. Also, when using wing parts pay attention to how much lift the wings are making, often times (in jets especially) they make way to much lift so if the lift number seems a little ridiculous during short test flights feel free to turn down the lift ratio on them.
@@gabrielhenson5751 Huh... I suspect I've been doing the exact opposite, reacting to the instability by trying to force it into place with really high inputs. Also probably too many wings. Definitely too many wings. Thanks for the advice. I love flyers but I'm still pretty inexperienced, given how in-depth From the Depths' systems can be.
Call me crazy bit this makes me want to see a FTD movie on a classic carrier ship design, similar to this challenge but aircraft only and with an actual hangar+carrier deck and compact aircraft.
I have 2 challenge ideas. Challenge number 1.) You are forced to use ring shields as part of your defense. As you said in a previous episode, the reason is that you have not messed with ring shields, and I am curious how effective they can be compared to the regular shields. A bonus condition you can add to the challenge is that you are not allowed munition defense of any kind. This includes anti-missile missiles, anti-munition lasers/cannons/plasma, etc. Also, you are not allowed to become a submarine during combat, you have to be either a boat or a flying vehicle. You are allowed to use any weapons you want during the challenge. And at the end of the challenge if you do not fight it during the run, see if your vehicle can not only survive but defeat the Event Horizon similar to what you did in this video. Challenge 2.) Do a "simple weapons only" run where you are only allowed to use weapons from the simple weapons section. This can include the rams and if you are feeling brave enough, the nukes. however, you must use at least one of every weapon by the end of the difficulty level and must be present on the end game vehicle, (this does include the nuke however you are allowed to have the nuke be on a drone and the drone will be held by the main craft. to make this more tricky, you can not be allowed to use spin blocks for the rams, and you can use the turret parts to make a multi simple weaponed gun.
I made a playlist of the long play throughs and I’ve been falling asleep watching them every night the past week lol trying to help those statistics! lol love the videos!
Amazing as always! Really liked the cubes and your guardians :) I would like to see a run where you may only use a single gun for damage and defense. It could be whatever you want but it needs to be versatile as well.
I forgot how much i love your content i watched when i was younger and as always you do amazing builds i couldnt fathom its making me itch to get back to FTD
Idea for a future run. 1) you only get one weapon per type of weapon. one missile system, one partical cannon, one autocannon, etc. it would be a unique chalange to balance what weapon is tasked with fast target damage, which gets defence, and which gets killing power. it would also be cool to see you super size the weapons. 2) you build multiple ships, and each ship gets one kind of weapon only. A missile cruiser, a cram cannon battleship, a autocannon destroyer, etc. one weapon kind per ship, and no duplicate ships or multiple ships with the same weapon kind. also, love the vids. From the deapths is a series i wish to see continued in the future!
Lathland, love this series so much man, please continue! Fun inspiration idea for a plane if you do a propeller playthrough of this game would be the Kyūshū J7W Shinden. It was a Japanese late WW2 fighter that was never used that's propeller is in the back! Keep up the great work as always.
ABOUT YOUR INABILITY TO DECIDE!: As someone who's struggled with that my whole life. my biggest tip i can give you is simply to roll a dice or flip a coin. it'll help you feel like choosing the option based on the roll or make you realize how stupid the option it lands on is. it FORCES you to feel the right choice in the moment and helps internal struggles with choice
Thanks for the video! I do have a couple of suggestions, since you've asked, although I doubt they are even remotely viable, so feel free to discard them. I'm judging only from your FTD videos. 1. Kraken Submarine. The idea is to get underneath an enemy, disable it's movement and drag it underwater with harpoons. Why it probably won't work: Enemies spawn far away from you, and movement underwater is slow, so no getting underneath the enemy in time. (Maybe go up and use hydrofoil to get close to the enemy and then go down?) Does nothing against other subs and space/high atmosphere crafts. 2. Distant space cram. This one is very cheesy. I've read that, after a certain altitude, gravity starts rapidly increasing, essentially making a soft cap on altitude. This build would use that strong gravity to it's advantage, massively increasing cram shot's speed. You chill in 0-grav space between battles, then, when the enemy craft spawns, you very quickly rise to that gravity increasing altitude and lob super-fast cram shots at the enemy. Why it probably won't work: It's cheesy. 3. Pacifist run / Speedrun. You build for speed/evasion, resource zone collection, and some defence from hit-scan weapons. Needs some additional rules, like not spending too much time in a difficulty and maybe spawning multiple enemies as soon as you arrive in a new difficulty. From a video stand point, it needs to have multiple attempts, otherwise it's gonna be over quickly. Why it probably won't work: Needs fiddling with handicaps/additional rules, otherwise it's either boring or impossible.
My first goto crafts were always some form of fast steam sub with as large a particle cannon as I could fit in it. I eventually tried making one that was especially speedy with the weapon facing vertically that would do a 'collision course' and fire strait up into the enemy ship from underneath, but went on a hiatus before I finished it. Your missile idea sounds like a good challenge and, as always, a good learning experience. I always wanted to dive into lua scripting for FtD, but never did or else I would have made my own javelin script for missiles. There's a lot that could maybe benefit missiles in lua scripting, like corkscrew trajectories/vectors that may throw off missile defense, or having them travel in such a way as to hit flanks instead of head-on. Besides lua, there's plenty to experiment with as far as components go already, so sounds fun.
All these melee ships look so cool! Have you ever considered trying to do a melee-only run? I think it could present some interesting challenges! Great video as always Lath! :D
Hi Lath, love the videos. I understand the material limit for more challenge, but this does make me quite curious to see a run where you get to use as much as you want.
Man I feel sad that I didnt watch this video when it came out, this was really cool to watch! Great work on those guardians and thier super missles as well, seeing the full group fighting the event horizon it was a feast to the eyes :D. 19:30 letting the curiosity deal with the sub marine was a great move and the curiosity will be missed. In regards to particle cannons, I hope you don't end up banning them fully but rather add a cap of 1 or 2 of them with long charge time. That way they could be powerful but will need much more time or chance to deal devestating hits.
challenge idea: you have a limit to one of the dimensions (height, length, wide), and you can't get bigger than that. I just want to see that war pancake🥞 Another idea inspired by your robot guardians and the name of Twin Guard: Twin craft! You must have 2 separate crafts that are "interconnected" in a way, but have drastically different weapons and possibly specialisation. Bonus points for making them look similar and/or have many design differences

The enemy vessels getting surrounded by all the different drones really helped in killing them, especially towards the end where the enemies are a lot tougher to take down. It does mean that you're not getting all the hits on one target, but it means that you can target multiple weapons at once.

I also find it amusing that not only did you also give it 4 lasers and a PAC but placed them in roughly the same spots as i did(but my model has them on all 4 sides and is a lot larger since i made it a Capital Ship)
From the Depths is a series I would love to see continued.
Seriously, these videos are some of the best content on youtube.
I love how he says he’s never done drones before and a few minutes later he says I’m gonna do something I’ve done 1 million times a little airplane with missiles.
Except he clearly has, five months ago he made a drone-only challenge run that lasted four episodes.
Prolly meant in this 1,5h format
@@nefer-trebeledfomp-4129I thought I had seen one before look like a aircraft carrier right
FTD is a series I would like to see continue!
I second this.
I’ve already finished my rewatch of 2017…
I had a silly idea, adventure mode, but your weapons can only be minimum gauge APS. A swarm of 18mm murder hornets! :D
Do tiny cannons even deal damage to layered and/or heavy armor?
@trulers8713 yeah the armour just modifies the damage done its impossible to deal zero damage but the 18mm would be doing one damage meaning up to 1000 shots to kill a piece of metal armour so it will be very slow without lots of incredibly high rpm guns
@@Popchip99 imagine an ingame variant of the 40.000 rpm quad minigun turret that exists irl
Unfortunately the game starts despawning projectiles if there's too many of them
@@Popchip99 you can actually do 0 damage.
1:08:10 the Necron Scarab is amazing Lath, love the subtle applique of 40k in your designs.
(Sorry that i suggest a drone challenge under a drone challenge video, but i hope you will use this some day)
40:25 XD The way the main body of the Bombard disintegrated was absolutely freaking hilarious!
43:40 Lath literally Becoming the Crisis with this one.
So I wasn’t the only one that thought that.
Stellaris has such a reach and I love it.
55:00 I suddenly want to make a flier that uses rudder-flippers to swim through the air.
yeah, I want to do the same. Despite how often I use rudders I never knew they could make things fly. I really should have known considering I knew how the force calculations work for the large rudders.
1:08:02 Understandable. Getting distracted generally has entertaining results if nothing else. Sometimes distraction can generate a genius idea.
Looking forward to more Terratech as well ^^
Terratech is a serie- wait... FROM THE DEPTHS is a series I wish to see continued in the future!
I've made this suggestion several times, but here's hoping this is the time you notice it 😂
I'd love to see a run where you use exactly one of each type of weapon.
The music at 50:00 with the combat is always so good
Took me 3 days to finish this video, as i kept falling asleep late at night to your smooth voice, yet wanting to finish the video either way!
All hail the power of the cube!
I'd love to see a melee only challenge! Really channel your inner Khorne.
17:29 im in love with the way it seemingly YEETS the missiles lmaoooo
It’s still fun to build even though I have no idea what I’m doing, so thanks for making these videos I guess!
it never ceases to amaze me how many of these full adventure playthroughs you do!
I believe the enemy at 50:30 is based off of the Atlantean lobster automaton from Atlantis. It’s also probably named Panic because in the movie it ambushes the sub the characters are on.
6:25 At the same time, drag is reduced - forward thrust is more efficient (or should be), upward thrust is less
It also depends on the engine.
If it's a turbofan for example, it requires air to operate at maximum potential.
It also depends on airspeed, etc.
50:30 The way that flying lobster moves is awesome. Kudos to the designer.
i like the idea of a run where you can only use a single weapon, and i'd consider a cluster of missiles a single weapon as long as they are connected and the same size.
At 35:11, I went back ten seconds so it sounded like he wanted to change a turrent into simply plasma. It's still very in character of him.
^3
I would love to continue seeing From the Depths.
Good show with the Vivace
Edit it occurs to me you could have really indulged yourself here, and just brought your resource level back down to par before each portal.
The cube is just so terrifying, it literally locks onto you and flashes red, and just vaporizes you.. Absolutely amazing.
Love seeing the design process and how the builds evolve overtime. Would love to see a Mech only land playthrough
I would love to see a challenge run where you can only move via warping/teleporting but you can turn normally if that lets you change where you warp
Love this series, so good to be watching from the depths again
I would love to see this playthrough again with a focus on diversity on the different types of drones. I loved the turret idea.
I feel like setting up a predetermined volume limit would be a little more clear and easier to do? Unless im misunderstanding
Love the vid!
Would also love to see an episodic Airships conquer the Skyes series where perhaps you do a challenge run.
For example no airships run
There are also some optional modifiers, that could make it easier or harder:
First Person: You must build a cockpit, with monitors, and use it to control your craft.
I have only just started watching the video, and I'm already super-hyped for this challenge run
Nice. Really liked this run, and on top of everything else everyone has already said, I really liked the mechs!
The head of the mech had a really cool design and had uncommon, creative weapons. I also personally think they did a lot more work than people seem to give credit for. :D
love these types of videos. the work you put into them really shows in the final product. love ur stuff dude!
Not sure if you have already done missiles only but I would love to see you build some massive craft that fires off hundreds of missies at once
Lathrix, bulding a hydrofoil that ends up being an extremely stable flyer
Me, whose dedicated planes can't go five seconds without nosediving into the water
.... maybe try making a hydrofoil? see if it can fly.
@@gabrielhenson5751 Knowing me, it would get stuck in space
@@Cas-Se78.97 yup, I figured it might be the case. I have around 1.1k hours in from the depths so I'm more than happy to give advice.
From the Depths has been a joy since Custom Cannons were a thing, and as always, it's a series I would wish to see continued in the future.
Gotta say, newfound respect for you. I got the game and on the third tutorial dropped it (for now), there are so many controls, and its so finnicky.
Call me crazy bit this makes me want to see a FTD movie on a classic carrier ship design, similar to this challenge but aircraft only and with an actual hangar+carrier deck and compact aircraft.
I have 2 challenge ideas.
Challenge number 1.)
You are forced to use ring shields as part of your defense.
Challenge 2.)
Do a "simple weapons only" run where you are only allowed to use weapons from the simple weapons section.
I will always enjoy your full playthroughs. Please keep making them as they're always great!
Great morning to wake up to a new video! Amazing idea deciding on using drones!
Still can barely make a weapon in from the depths myself.
I made a playlist of the long play throughs and I’ve been falling asleep watching them every night the past week lol trying to help those statistics! lol love the videos!
Amazing as always! Really liked the cubes and your guardians :)
I would like to see a run where you may only use a single gun for damage and defense.
Always love to see more FTD content, i really enjoy these full playtrough videos!
22:47 You made a Water Urbi! XD Trash can of the sea!
Why it probably won't work:
Enemies spawn far away from you, and movement underwater is slow, so no getting underneath the enemy in time. (Maybe go up and use hydrofoil to get close to the enemy and then go down?)
Does nothing against other subs and space/high atmosphere crafts.
Why it probably won't work:
It's cheesy.
Why it probably won't work:
Needs fiddling with handicaps/additional rules, otherwise it's either boring or impossible.
Absolutely lovely. It’s always great to watch a Lathland video
\o/ Drones, the thumbnail has me looking forward to Mecha style ships. :D
From the Depths is a series I would *love* to see continued!
A NEW PLAYTHROUGH!!!!!!! THANK YOU LATHRIX🙏🙏
All these melee ships look so cool! Have you ever considered trying to do a melee-only run? I think it could present some interesting challenges! Great video as always Lath! :D
That second set of drones is GORGEOUS!
Hi Lath, love the videos. I understand the material limit for more challenge, but this does make me quite curious to see a run where you get to use as much as you want.
From the depths is a series I would love to see continued in the future
Man I feel sad that I didnt watch this video when it came out, this was really cool to watch! Great work on those guardians and thier super missles as well, seeing the full group fighting the event horizon it was a feast to the eyes :D. 19:30 letting the curiosity deal with the sub marine was a great move and the curiosity will be missed.
In regards to particle cannons, I hope you don't end up banning them fully but rather add a cap of 1 or 2 of them with long charge time. That way they could be powerful but will need much more time or chance to deal devestating hits.
From the Depths is a series I would simply love to see continued :).
From the Depths is a series I would love to see continued.
1:12:18 can I just say that the way the cannon fell through the vessel was immensely satisfying?
challenge idea: you have a limit to one of the dimensions (height, length, wide), and you can't get bigger than that. I just want to see that war pancake🥞
Another idea inspired by your robot guardians and the name of Twin Guard: Twin craft! You must have 2 separate crafts that are "interconnected" in a way, but have drastically different weapons and possibly specialisation. Bonus points for making them look similar and/or have many design differences
I love your long videos, they’re so good to have on while doing chores or stuff. Best podcast on the webs, big love lathman!
Came for stellaris, stayed for the rambling
