Part of understanding motivating operations is understanding establishing operations, abolishing operations, evocative effects, and abative effects. Motivating operations increase the value of consequences and temporarily increase current behavior. Motivating operations can be difficult for RBTs and BCBAs but we are here to explain it in simple terms. RBTs and BCBAs need to know these terms for the RBT exam and the BCBA exam.
