Im a long time Pagan and I turned my ways unto the Lord. I truly believe there is one God One Heaven and I am thankful for bands like FOR TODAY who helped me see the way. Thank You Jesus for these bands that helped turn me from the secular music and helped me see the light.
This is the first song I've heard of for today and all there songs have such an amazing message and it's all just so amazing. Great Band and great music
What's comes out from the man's tongue and his daily acts it's what matters." Let everything that has breath praise His name. Praise Jehovah. "(Palm 150)
David's song of Deliverance sounds pretty metal to me "Then the earth reeled and rocked; the foundations of the heavens trembled and quaked, because he was angry. 9 Smoke went up from his nostrils, and devouring fire from his mouth; glowing coals flamed forth from him. 10 He bowed the heavens and came down; thick darkness was under his feet. 11 He rode on a cherub and flew; he was seen on the wings of the wind. 12 He made darkness around him his canopy, thick clouds, a gathering of water. 13 Out of the brightness before him coals of fire flamed forth. 14 The Lord thundered from heaven, and the Most High uttered his voice. 15 And he sent out arrows and scattered them; lightning, and routed them. 16 Then the channels of the sea were seen; the foundations of the world were laid bare, at the rebuke of the Lord, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils."
Reminds me of the day I held my mothers hand in the hospital..the good spirit is powerful..my prayers were enough to make evil cower in fear..she might not be on this earth today but that dont mean shit..heaven is her home and she has returned
My husband and I saw them in one of their last concert's, they performed this song and they sounded great! Great workout music and motivation music to conquer the day!!
Guys... Just because you aren't religious doesn't mean you can't enjoy For Today and other bands like them. I'm an Agnostic but I've grown up listening to these guys and still enjoy their music a lot! I've met Mattie too and he's a great dude. Loved to chat with him again!
Ahh.. I was lucky enough to see For Today play this song live a few days at Warped Tour down in Utah. It was probably one of the greatest days of my life. They bring a ton of energy in their music!
Our God is a Mighty Metal God. Hear the battle-roaring of the Lion of Judah, and all the devils shall flee! "Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand" that is Jesus Christ. (:
This may sound weird, but I think I might of been head banging for 2 minutes straight without stopping. I didn't even realize I was doing it untill 2 minutes past. Im weird XD
I can't believe people are saying it's irrelevant for what religion a band is, what's the point of lyrical content then? This band out of many others are just trying to spread the truth! Wake up, people! This music is made to be enjoyed, but in a manner to make you learn something from their lyrics. It sends chills down my spine knowing bands like these strike back towards the wicked and evil. I love it. Jesus Metal is best.
I think the point is you can enjoy the music and support the art even if you don't hold the same religious beliefs as the band. A lot of people who listen to this band enjoy it because they like the genre and admire the bands talent even though they themselves aren't "Christians". I know as a Christian I don't listen to exclusively "christian" bands. For example Rise Against are "atheists" and even thought I disagree with them in that aspect I agree with their anti-war political message and admire the music they make and the passion they put into it. Their religious beliefs are irrelevant to me because they have a positive message that I think ultimately does good for the world and they make passionate music that I enjoy and can connect with. I feel like a lot of atheist/non-Christians view bands like For Today and Skillet in the same regard, they don't believe what the band believes but they don't care because they enjoy the music, connect with the positivity of the lyrics, and support the bands passion.
Demon Hunter, Saving Grace, War of Ages, August Burns Red, Impending doom, Sleeping Giant, Sinbreed, Brian Head Welch, The order of Elijah, Dark Sermon, and many others. Just go explore! It's worth it.
I prefer antichrist metal if that's what it's called, if there was something called intern metal that'd be my jam but there's only drug-step that follows the intern religion so atheism is the closest.
Creighster I agree the same dude. I'm agnostic myself (used to be Christian) and I can still appreciate this band as I enjoy the music they make. Even thought their lyrics are mainly Christian based doesn't mean I can't appreciate and respect it and doesn't put me off. It does piss me off that the ex guitarist and vocalist hold such archaic homophobic views but it doesn't put me off listening to them. This band still has good morals. Even though they are the most generic of metalcore you can get they are still heavy as fuck!
I went through a lot of these comments and I see all these people hating and saying all this like "fuck this Christian band and their false god". When I see this It reassures me that some people haven't found god because their too busy being taunted by lucifer, but I will not give in to his temptations. He is so easy to give into, all of us need to stand up and fight and soon he will hear us (Jehovah). I will stand straight militant lining up in Jehovah's battalion. I fight for the day where the kingdom will be here on earth. I am fearless.
Guys you are all warriors.. Through your music you are not only praising the (All powerful) Ancient one but I wanna tell you that you are for sure making him glad in real sense.
+Steve Brule I'd soon rather see him crucified, which why I beat off to Passion of the Christ as often as possible.. Also, who the fuck are you to make a judgement call on the so-called "wickedness" of the world?
Flat out, I'm not Christian but I still love For Today. Religion shouldn't make a difference. Music is meant to make people come together from all different demographics. I've been to For Today and August Burns Red shows and a christian metal crowd is just the same as a crowd watching Behemoth or Immortal. The music brings people together and that's what should really matter. Not trying to offend any people of religion out there, just stating what I feel is my opinion.
+Bryson Stadtfeld That's all fine and good, and the whole "it should just be about the music" is a good principal to have in theory...but the singer of this band is an asshole who starts preaching about the glory of God in the middle of their sets, so clearly brainwashing/indoctrination of youth is part of his agenda...
iseethereforiam self Well, my main beef with this band is that they tour with other bands that I like and I have to put up with their preachy nonsense. It's nothing personal, it's simply a matter of principal. Especially since, part of them "preaching the good word" comes across as being a marketing ploy wherein those kids with nosy parents can show them the lyrics and say "See, they're good. They're a market friendly, trendy, 'safe band'." That to me, is nonsense, especially since in having kids at those shows, they engage in this false sense of community where they've taken it upon themselves to indoctrinate young minds with this pollution that has been used by people throughout histories to commit numerous atrocities the world over. I mean, you don't hear about kids going through a "Christian phase" that's just silly. And yet they act as though they're doing the "rebel" thing or that they are somehow being "edgy" by talking abut the Bible in their songs. In effect, they are what the Dead Kennedy's (one of handful of real bands with a true counter hegemonic and socially subversive message/viewpoint) call a "Nazi Punk." Also, why not have an opposing view that "conflicts" with the crowd?
AzazelZaphorOmega look friend maybe to you it's not good for him to be preachy to teens. But the word of the Lord is able to set men free from the bondage of sin. So maybe the atheist don't like it when believers preach to them or others but is that supposed to stop us no lol we will continue to preach I for one will not have your blood on my hands. So yeah also it's super edgy especially in today's world to preach the Gospel because so many people reject the word today. ✊✌🔥💯💯💯
Azazel - God knows exactly how you feel lol. 1 Corinthians 1:18-31 - For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God
I don't think its a coincidence that alot of popular metalcore bands are Christian, there is a light shining in the dark! it penetrates the dark, And it saves people.
+Adam Saijas-Perez By, really by all means "enlighten" me what is I'm supposed to be afraid of/worried about so that my otherwise normal existence can be needlessly plagued with fear, guilt, and regret. Do tell me what it is I'm in "need" of being saved from. Go on. Preach it.
Fool_for_Christ This has nothing to do with righteousness (a concept for which you theists have been guilty of being hypocritical about on a grand scale since the inception of your religion on the simple basis that you believe what you believe and others don't, i.e. a self made for of segregation) as much it's about choosing not be afraid of invisible and imaginary threats for which you people have yet to substantiate even the slightest quark for. In other words, prove that it's a viable threat and then I'll start quaking in my boots. Until then, shut up. I mean really, I could claim a huge bio-mechanical space dragon is on its way ready to blow fires strong enough to annihilate everyone on earth, but if you follow me to my super secret and ultra safe bomb shelter fortress, you will survive. What reason would you have to believe me about that? The same applies to your god(s) and the concept of "sin" why should anyone believe you? Think REALLY HARD about it before you post a reply.
+AzazelZaphorOmega Why can't I pray to sky daddy and read the comic book? I used to be atheist, but hey.. we make the best believers. :) The only thing is you'll never be able to disprove religion so you are merely choosing to look down on what others choose to believe, which makes them happy. So.. what's the point of talking sh!t about something you can't understand? Just let us be, wanting to offend somebody for trying to fix their lives.. even if it just sounds like an absurd idea to cope with death to you.. isn't a way you should spend these few breathes we have here. If your an atheist just try to be kind or something.. reject it all you want Christ's existence will never vanish.. I'm not gonna threaten you or sarcastically say "you've got it all together" That's the wrong type of Christian. None of us got it all together. Just do you, love yourself and do acts of kindness and that's it. :)
Seeing them say a prayer on stage at Warped Tour in 2012 was slightly off-putting since I'm not religious, but they did put on an amazing show. There's something to be said about a band who broadcasts their values.
I think it's irrelevant what religion a band is if they good music they make good music & this band makes good music ! I saw them live and instantly became a fan
A lot of people care, but I don't believe in any religion and still like religious metal bands because they're great musicians regardless of what they believe.
Well you see people immediately place a stamp on your head saying what you are. When Christians make music like this people are in disbelief that they actually are Christian which is sad to say, but it's the truth. That's why they have to call themselves that
To true, I don't mind if they talk about god as long as they don't, and they don't so I really like them for having a little respect for themselves and their faith
Cool instrumentals, but in my opinion off putting lyrics but as a non christian I guess that's to be expected, I appreciate their passion in their beliefs though. Pretty good band.
I've never heard of these guys until I purchased tickets to see them with Asking Alexandria, Sevendust, and All that Remains. Super stoked to see these guys in Grand Junction, CO!
Blake Sampia Yeah, and they have one song where matty mullins from memphis may fire come in (Break the cycle). Other than that it is Mattie Montgomery :)
this is your fav band eh? do you listen to the words that are coming out of their mouth sir. i couldnt help but notice your Obama hat in your profile pic and they are completely and entirely against this the American government and its leaders... that you should know. Obama is a puppet for the devil
IIcoolbeans420II not like anyone else on the plate is any more nutritious The problem is when people assume that one party is "of tha devil!" when in reality they are all corrupt, greedy, and murderers. I remember seeing For Today at Warped Tour in Pittsburgh two years ago, and I never heard of you guys until I went to see you. Then I met the lead singer, he said a speech and it blew me away. I got to meet him, take a picture, and tell him that I loved his music. I want you to know I still have your autograph on the wall next to my picture of Jesus, it's nice to know that there are real good people out there, even if they are in the spotlight with thousands of people cheering, you still heard me. I still hear you.
These guys are so passionate and are inspiring with their faith! I have so much respect for them and how they're not afraid to be challenged abd stick to their guns For Today you're helping me be a stronger Christian thank you
We are fearless, because HE is our strength and our salvationn, our refuge and our strong tower. If he is with us who´s against us?
We are fearless praise God for He has given us the strength to be Fearless I Love God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I honestly can give these Guy's a huge thumbs up, perfect vocals, perfect lyrics. They don't use the same lyrics over and over again and they give people a reason to turn there life's to god. Thank you for today c:
+Ghost Crew They do get all preachy at shows though
I thought that religion and Christianity was boring and a waste of time, but over the years God softened my heart, he pulled me close, and after I had struggled so much with life, I didn't resist, I allowed God in my life. I haven't been this happy or this peaceful before. I wish I could explain exactly what I'm trying to convey without offending anyone or saying something wrong. God will try to find a way into your life, but not forever, so I advise that you build a relationship with Christ.
I love these guys, not only do they put out some heavy freaking worship, but theyre songs are deep instead of being focused on presenting a "brutal" image
Bro I remember when this came out and I thought this is gonna blow up, wtf happen this song deserves way more views
Because it's Christian..
Dude, this is awesome. All the God's creation is awesome. This song is really touching, encouraging... God is there, wherever we may be! For this WE ARE FEARLESS!!
Fuckin idiot

These guys live were the real deal, this shit dropped when I was a young teen now I’m 23. Timeless, amen 🔥
It is not about the genres or the rhythm they have, it is the content (LYRICS/MESSAGE)!!!!!!
Lyrics
We will not, we will not, we will not be afraid
We will not, we will not, we will not be afraid
We will not, we will not, we will not be afraid
We will not, we will not, we will not be afraid
We are fearless
Fearless
We made the mark of the uncreated God so what should we fear?
We bear the scars of the holy risen son so tell me what should we fear
Every threat is hollow because our victory is already set in stone
We are the fearless
We will not, we will not, we will not be afraid
We will not, we will not, we will not be afraid
Though we stand in this dark valley (we will not be afraid)
For we know that You are near
For we know that You are near
I can feel the courage rising in the hearts of the sons of God
I can feel a fire burning across the Earth we stand as one
We are not dismayed by the darkness that surrounds us here because we know that when all
Hell closes in, if we stand and fight, we are not alone
Though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death (we are not alone)
We will fear no evil for You are near
We are fearless
We will not, we will not, we will not be afraid
We will not, we will not, we will not be afraid
Though we stand in this dark valley (we will not be afraid)
For we know that You are near
For we know that You are near
We can't stop the kingdom, You'll see me bow at the throne of judgement day
So let the devil come
We are fearless
Fearless
So let the devil come!
I LIKE FOR TODAY, THEIR LYRICS ALWAYS DIRECT BIBLICAMENTE =) BLESSINGS EXTREME BROTHERS FROM ARGENTINA
What's comes out from the man's tongue and his daily acts it's what matters." Let everything that has breath praise His name. Praise Jehovah. "(Palm 150)
The head banging kitty made me find this song and I have to say IT ROCKS
Me too. Head banging kitteh
Same here that head banging kitten video rocked and am so glad I found these guys absolutely amazing Christian metal
Nice pic of the KCS ace.
Greatest influence.. I love you guys, please keep making music!!
From one metal head to all " Psalms 138:1 I will praise you with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise to you" love I guys!
Just saw them play this live when opening for AA. These guys are beast.
David's song of Deliverance sounds pretty metal to me "Then the earth reeled and rocked;
the foundations of the heavens trembled
and quaked, because he was angry.
9 Smoke went up from his nostrils,
and devouring fire from his mouth;
glowing coals flamed forth from him.
10 He bowed the heavens and came down;
thick darkness was under his feet.
11 He rode on a cherub and flew;
he was seen on the wings of the wind.
12 He made darkness around him his canopy,
thick clouds, a gathering of water.
13 Out of the brightness before him
coals of fire flamed forth.
14 The Lord thundered from heaven,
and the Most High uttered his voice.
15 And he sent out arrows and scattered them;
lightning, and routed them.
16 Then the channels of the sea were seen;
the foundations of the world were laid bare,
at the rebuke of the Lord,
at the blast of the breath of his nostrils."
Reminds me of the day I held my mothers hand in the hospital..the good spirit is powerful..my prayers were enough to make evil cower in fear..she might not be on this earth today but that dont mean shit..heaven is her home and she has returned
That was an awesome sermon we are not alone

They bring a ton of energy in their music!
thank YOU for FOR TODAY ,,,,,, LOVE THAT YOU SHOW LOVE FOR JESUS .........
we will not, we will not, we will not be afraid! Praise God!
I came across this for the first time today. If the strength of faith in my soul were a song... This would be it....
Amen brother.
Amen Risa. Thank you brother for this reminder because I’m struggling with fear

This may sound weird, but I think I might of been head banging for 2 minutes straight without stopping. I didn't even realize I was doing it untill 2 minutes past.
Im weird XD
This song is much needed in 2020.
Indeed, satan is taking over this world right now. Not just America
If this does not pull on your heart and make you call for the battle, there is something truly wrong with your heart my lad.
"The truth." I literally spat out my sandwich.
Man… this is my favorite band absolutely. I wish you guys kept making music. So bad
Praise the lord jesus christ
Praise the lord,I love this
i love theses guys they were amazing at warp tour
That's actually why I looked them up. I saw them today in West Palm Beach, Florida.
They were amazing in Columbia Maryland
People can be afraid but if u r with God u don't have to be afraid of anything :-)
Guys you are all warriors.. Through your music you are not only praising the (All powerful) Ancient one but I wanna tell you that you are for sure making him glad in real sense.
The Fact When Jesus Metal is better than most "Metal" bands today is great. Not christian but love the message it gives and music
+Dmitry Nemerov I agree, you don't need to be Christian to get a positive message from their music.
its not Jesus metal L O L
+Lucisus Palmer explain how it's not
+Dmitry Nemerov Ha! Jesus Metal = Faith Plus One
+AzazelZaphorOmega Sadly true. He does do that and I haven't seen that with other christian metal bands, so I do get your point.
iseethereforiam self
Well, my main beef with this band is that they tour with other bands that I like and I have to put up with their preachy nonsense. In effect, they are what the Dead Kennedy's (one of handful of real bands with a true counter hegemonic and socially subversive message/viewpoint) call a "Nazi Punk."
Also, why not have an opposing view that "conflicts" with the crowd?
I love this song in the lyrics are so powerful
I like this song. Despite beeing non-religious.
Same, I even like the acoustic version.
There's an acoustic?
Im not religious either. Just have a relationship with the King Jesus
@@donkeymama2 Yup! That's what it all comes down to
I don't think its a coincidence that alot of popular metalcore bands are Christian, there is a light shining in the dark! it penetrates the dark, And it saves people.
+Madara saves people from what?
+AzazelZaphorOmega You know what.
I missssssss this band 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶
Seeing them say a prayer on stage at Warped Tour in 2012 was slightly off-putting since I'm not religious, but they did put on an amazing show. There's something to be said about a band who broadcasts their values.

Such a great song
At 2:43 For Today savagely murder several Obi-Wan Kenobis.
That's why they have to call themselves that
It's not irrelevant if lyrical content is something you listen to music for.
To true, I don't mind if they talk about god as long as they don't, and they don't so I really like them for having a little respect for themselves and their faith
+Gabe Jiminez But they do, the singer preaches to the crowd at their shows....
One of the besssssssssst.. this band came from heaven to give the message of the sinner
best Christian group i've ever heard
Im liking them a lot. Check out Love And a Death. Not much people know about them
would recommend Norma Jean, As I Lay Dying and August Burns Red.
As I Lay Dying are atheists though. They said it themselves.
+Matt The Gooseman I was going to say that actually but I just didn't bother lol
+Antonio Alcantar it just goes to show that we have to watch out for false preachers
Cool instrumentals, but in my opinion off putting lyrics but as a non christian I guess that's to be expected, I appreciate their passion in their beliefs though. Pretty good band.
I agree. Thats why I never got into them... Absolutely hate this christian thing going on
+MAXL.BMGxYNHGxVLBGSQUAD ABSOLUTELY, they should be dragged off to death camps and burned alive.
Cheo Samad I don't get get what's so bad about it being Christian? Lol people these days.
Hail JESUS CHRIST my LOrd and SAviour JEsus Christ ..I bow to the one and ONly one to my Lord and SAviour JEsus Christ

This is by far my favorite Christian band. Better than skillet and august burns red in my opinion.
nahh, impending doom are better
why does it even matter whether or not their christian its still just music whether or not the band is christian
this is your fav band eh? do you listen to the words that are coming out of their mouth sir. i couldnt help but notice your Obama hat in your profile pic and they are completely and entirely against this the American government and its leaders... that you should know. Obama is a puppet for the devil
IIcoolbeans420II not like anyone else on the plate is any more nutritious
The problem is when people assume that one party is "of tha devil!" when in reality they are all corrupt, greedy, and murderers. Stop worshiping the republican party.
The federal government is less of a governing body and more of a market in which politicians are consumers, and we are the commodity.
IIcoolbeans420II Not my favorite band of all, and the Obama hat was a gift I honestly don't really care much about politics.
