In other news, this band never ceases to blow me away. They are the guys who got me into listening to this genre in the first place. Guys, this is a religious band, and they have been for since they started. They've released what, 5 albums now? How are people STILL coming here complaining about the religious aspects of their music? Get over it. There will always be religious bands because people are entitled to believe what they want. I'm far from religious, but even I can see that you all just look like arrogant, close-minded assholes for coming to a religious band and trying to tell them and their fans that their way of life is a lie. If you're religious, then you can find a lot in what For Today has to say. If not, then you can still enjoy the music. But everyone needs to learn to accept that we don't all share the same beliefs in life. I'm sure nobody here wants to be told what they believe is wrong, religious or not, so leave people to their own beliefs. Stop trying to prove other people wrong, and just live in a way that you believe to be right.
Since they insult anyone who wasn't believing in the same thing as they are, I don't think anyone should feel sorry for the pile of sh*t they are getting. This Band preach for open minded people when they are the first Live and on public to be close minded and lack respect toward anyone who don't believe in the same thing as they are.

Can I just say, as a pagan and not a christian, I love this band. I happen to like a lot of Christian bands. It doesn't take being christian to enjoy christian bands, singers, or music in general. And anyone who insults, whines, or complains about Christians believing in god is a load of bull. Christians have every right to believe in what they wish to believe in, just like everyone else. If it gives them hope and allows them to live believing that there is good in the world why stop them? As long as they aren't hurting anyone why the hell does it matter?

Growing stronger in your faith? This album has very little religious or faith implications at all. A lot of the album is standing against human trafficking. I doubt when they were making this album they wanted people to "grow stronger in your faith."

However I dig not only the sound but also the no holds harred message that they bring to tableb I was raised in Church but due to events that were, to say the very least, we were absolutely unfair and a betrayal of all a Believer is told shall be theirs just for believing in Him. Getting ready eaten alive by dialysis while dying of kidney failure), my son(my dad taking opportunity to stab me in the back as only he can, while sitting in 'his house' which was mine by Right according to the Trust he forged my name to release it from to purchase it), my sanity (see how stable you remain when you watch your wife deteriorate to the point of suicide) my sobriety (5 years out the window; I graduated from spoons to ladles within the first month on top of finishing off a fifth to a liter every night for a time), and above all, I lost myself. I will NOT be searching for answers in the Christian thought. I will acknowledge that there is truly a higher power, but instead of a creation of this Source; I am an extension. Therefore I am Source itself! A godlike being who has the power to take life and shape it as I see see fit from now on.

This obedience shouldn't be a burden, in fact, God will bless those greatly who act in obedience and not rebelliousness. If salvation were a coin, repentance would be one side, and faith would be the other. The only way God will forgive us is if we repent (turn away from) our sins and have a change of mind and heart. How could we ignore the Son of Man who died an atoning sacrificial death on our behalf of us for our sins? Jesus bore the full weight of God's wrath to save us. How could we ignore that calling? Sadly many are called, but few are chosen. I am very sorry these bad experiences have happened to you and made you bitter toward the church. I have had a rocky, bumpy and painful life too. But I also have much to be grateful for. Certainly, my brain is damaged, but the Lord still gave me His Spirit to do things that require a good mind for the Word of God, and to have a relationship with Him, not just be legalistic. Growing up in a legalistic church or being raised by parents who are legalistic Christians can certainly hurt someone too. I am a recovering drug addict and I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. I'm in no way trying to one-up you. I have had 6 psychosis and 6 concussions, and I have been hospitalized about 6 times in the psych ward with my last hospital stay 3 months long. My dad passed away last year from cancer as well. Just know that the church isn't full of bad eggs. Yes, there certainly are some, especially the wolves in sheep's clothing that Jesus warned us about, which give real Christians a bad name sometimes; who get a lot of their knowledge from God and seek to live in peace and love. they are on a sanctification journey with the Holy Spirit dwelling in them, leading them home to a lasting life and to Jesus. @@swalls92 I may have misread this but you said "they need to maintain and work "at" their salvation for the rest of their lives." We are saved by grace through faith and NOT by works. Abraham had something to boast about but not before God. Its grace that saved us and not of ourselves. Thats why its amazing. Thats why I go through each day feeling undeserving and saddened by the fact that I can't do anything and it makes me love Him more and its just hard to understand that love. I can't wait to fall on my face in His presence. I still don't understand how we can Boldly come to the throne.

Agreed man. Same with "sever the ties" or other variations. Lots of other stuff like that. Bands around 2003-2008 paved the way for a bunch of shitty bands like this to rip off and try to basically combine their styles, lyrics, and be slightly heavier (except their corniness makes them LESS heavy, in my opinion). Not that there aren't great bands still coming out but you have to dig deeper, especially in the hardcore/metalcore/deathcore/etc. genres. At least the prog metal and "djenty" bands like Periphery, Animals As Leaders, The Safety Fire, Intervals, etc are doing something relatively new/original and technical AND melodic. And then there's bands like Born Of Osiris, Veil Of Maya, Structures, Erra, or The Contortionist that can take the good stuff from metalcore/deathcore genres and add some melody and proggy technical stuff to make it interesting. But bands like this just take reuse lyrics and riffs of Killswitch Engage, Unearth, Terror, Comeback Kid, It Dies Today, August Burns Red, and all of those kinds of older original metal core and hardcore bands and try to thrown in a little Emmure, Veil Of Maya, Sky Eats Airplane or whatever other easy to rip off slightly technical breakdowns and try to be as heavy as possible with a really ghey and cliche name.
Cycles are never ending. We can go forward, we can go backwards, we can go quickly, we can go slowly. Fuck it...
