Seriously do 350 it's a straight wall cartridge so it can be used anywhere on shotgun can, ammo is available everywhere luke walmart/big box stores, it's better than 300 blackout ballistically in almost every way except bc ( who cares) and ammo is cheaper.
I put a charging Bull Moose down on the Kenai with a 10mm, solid copper shaped round of similar design... they work really well in my experience with meat/bone targets (read: live, large animals). I gotta imagine that the 350 Legend, at double the speed and half the weight, will do excellent as well for hunting.
Yeah man I can almost relate to that took a 337 lb boar 20 some odd miles outside of Waco with my Glock 29 mother fucker tried charging me but those underwood 220 grain hard casts are no joke. Dropped him like a sack of potatoes also fine shooting on my part.
And, for you subsonic fans, Winchester makes subsonic ammo for 350. If you reload,. Maker Bullets has a 280 grain all copper bullet that expands at subsonic velocities, and it's physically huge. The bullet is almost as long as the case itself! It does require a 1:10 twist barrel though. Still, think 280 grainers, subsonic, suppressed in an 8 or 9 inch barrel. It's like the meaner heavier hitting big brother to the 300 Blackout.

I haven't used my reloads on game yet; I've been testing the various factory loads. I would expect some of these to work very well. I just wish the deep curl bullets and xtps would feed.
Any chance you could get your hands on Maker Bullets 220 grain subs and 150 grain Rex bullets? Love your channel I have watched all your 350 videos multiple times.
Ok Kyle plz plz get your hands on that NEW Winchester 150 grn. SOLID! and do your gel test with it!! Wanna finally see this bad boy mushroom! Great round for sure but kinda dismal expansion. Hopefully Winchesters new round will mushroom like a Barnes! Now that will be cool!
I can't help but feel the market really needs to produce a 100-130 gr fast factory load for this. This cartridge has the potential to be better than 300 blk in nearly every way within 150 yards, but most bullets are meant for medium game via long barrels with moderate expansion or less. More speed, more expansion, these can make short barreled options more viable.
Well I'm hoping that the new Winchester deer season SOLID 150GR will finally open up, like a Barnes. These 350 legend videos are great but seems like the round just squishes slightly and never expands hardly at all. Soo...fingers crossed 🤞
I watched a barrel performance video a while back and it was a test barrel. Not for accuracy, but just velocities. The 350 legend maintained good velocities from a 20" barrel all the way down to 10" or so. I imagine if one is using a 10.5" for 350 legend, definitely have to play with the different loads to see what type and grain is more accurate, but it might help too if the manufacturer goes from a 1:16 twist to 1:14 or even a 1:12 to help stabilize the heavier rounds. I had.the same thought that the 350 legend can out perform the 300 blk in the terminal performance department within 200 yards, which 300 blk doesn't hold too much energy either past 200. When talking about subsonic loads, if the 10.5" barrel can shoot the 350 projectiles accurately, then the 300 blk will have very little advantages over the 350 when suppressed. I guess we'll find out as more people build AR's in 350L and different barrel lengths.
@@toddk1377 the only persistent problem I'm having is feeding, otherwise mine is accurate, pleasant and I did some water expansion testing... whoa. I'm confident the XP 150 rounds would be brutal on everything except armor, even from my 12". But I agree, higher twist is needed for subs. Maker makes a 280 grain sub, but it needs an adapted 9mm barrel to do it (1/10) thays not so fast that you should see problems with supersonic bullets. If anything it'll help the 180s expand at lower speeds in short barrels.
@@ravissary79 I heard about the feeding issues. I just watched a video earlier about it. A guy said he had the duramags and he filed the lips back a little bit and rounded the edges off where grinded them down and then it fed just fine. On another mag he just slightly spread the feed lips apart so it wasn't so tight and it fed. I think he polished and slightly grounded down the feed ramp as it goes into the chamber as well. If I see that video again I'll share it here to you, that is if that's the kind.of.feesing issues you're having.
@@toddk1377 thanks :) yeah with my 20 rounders they seem to start fine when the gun is wet, but by the end of the mag they're jaming a lot. I wonder if a heavier buffer might help so as to increase how long the bolt takes to return, giving the spring more time to raise a round.
Hey man great video!..just wondering if you've tried any bullets from RMR? I just got some 124grn and 147grn, both truncated cone jacketed...cant wait to try them..I'm thinking maybe similar velocities with the 124.
I haven't tried those particular bullets, but they should work just like the 147-grain Speer TMJ bullets I loaded up in a previous video. They worked perfectly.
Because 350 legend is the optimal cartridge for a CQB rifle. These rounds in particular are even more optimized for short range, shooting them at 100 yards is like doing a review of a ferrari and saying "any gear other than first is dumb"
I bought a 350 upper from Bear creek. It shoots winchester and hornady factory ammo at about 1.5 in groups at 100 yards. Probably put a beat down on a pig or deer at less than 200 yards. Are you shooting 9mm bullets or 357 bullets? It's crazy, winchester info says 357 bullets, and hornady says 355.
The recoil on these things are tame. Compared it to a 454, a 460 or a 12ga for you ohio deer hunters it's a lamb. Great video though, thanks for the info man. 👍
I can't help but think this would be awesome in a 5.5" s&w x-frame with moon clips, maybe a 7-8 shot cylinder. I'd love it in a super redhawk, but the cylinder isn't long enough. The x frame is (s&w 500 and 460), but is a pinch heavy. A tapered barrel, maybe an alloy frame, would go a long way to lightening it and making an x frame a viable defense revolver.
I have noticed the XD bullets have twist rate recommended on them. I am wondering if that can draw their performance down somewhat. I know the 90 XD in my 9 mm shoots very flat and is more accurate than I expected. Just wondering about the twist rate. Also, do you post load recipes?

would love to see this in a factory load please, I don't want to get back into reloading. I intend to us my 350 to be my primay varmint gun, and lighter rounds are faster, accurate and lethal!
350 would be a terrible varmint round. The ballistic coefficients are much too low. If you're looking for a good ar-15 round, you might try 224 valkyrie or 22 Nosler.
@@jazzyj1965 It's designed to handle medium game like deer and hogs within closer distances. Accuracy in my testing so far has been OK, but not good enough for prairie dogs. It might be the rifle, though. A bolt-action gun might get better results. What kind of varmints are you planning to hunt?
What was your load recipe for both of the rounds? I see you were using H110. Were you using standard rifle primers or magnum primers? I use a lot of LeHigh bullets in my pistol loads, and have done some in 223. Those look just plain wicked for a 350 Legend! I'd be shooting them out of a 20" barrel. If you don't want to share your load recipe, then can you say whether or not your loads were within the ranges that would be available on the LeHigh website????
I pinned my load recipes to the top of the comments block. You should be able to see both there. I did not use magnum primers. I think it would be a bad idea with this cartridge. The powder burns fast enough already, producing impressive velocities through short barrels.
It’s a hand load using a speer bullet and Starline brass they took me a long time to develop but they work perfectly the Winchester subsonic is a tank the bullet drop is terrible So I develop the 220 and the 250 the cycle perfect

@@SocialRegressive I doubt you see this but here it goes. I bought a 350 legend rifle and my brother is getting one, and finally our step dad is getting one for our nephew as a new hunter. I am curious if this load would be a great hunting load. I am guessing no but the only reason I ask is because we planned on saving our brass and doing some hand loads to get way higher performance. That and my step dad got himself a custom 27" barrel for his thompson encore chambered in 444 marlin. He bought some copper solid ammo from underwood and they look almost identical to this load you did. it definitely killed the deer better than efficiently. so I was thinking about going with the makings of something like this. Specifically a bullet like this. especially in higher grains. 118 grains would certainly mess up any living animal bad but 150 grain or more would definitely do a lot of damage.

*Vibra-Tite VC3 or LOC-TITE or your preferred brand of "THREAD LOCKER ADHESIVE" can be very useful. VBRATION can loosen screws on ANYTHING. What you have there VIBRATES A LOT.*
Neat bullet, cool cartridge, ok Uncle Sam, let's switch to Lehigh in 6mm ARC for all Services.
Hoo Rah ! Get Some ! Let's Roll ! ❤👍😍♨😱
If your expecting armored home visitors, I wondered how the Extreme Penetrator would perform?
Good question. It has speed, but is it sharp enough to punch through steel armor?
Would be interesting to see a .350 legend load using the even lighter 68gr lehigh XD projectile.
Careful. The laws of physics only bend so far.
@@SocialRegressive Loaded into a 357sig and pushing towards 2100fps , it might be able to produce rifle wounds from a carry sized handgun.
Great videos on all your firearms appreciated the further shots at gel I get tired of ten yard shots into gel don’t prove anything for terminal performance I don’t see any revel acne for close shots
Thanks for sharing your work I was going to pay a friend to reload some xtp for deer hunting not after what you just told us have you tried those reloads out on any game would love to in my ruger ar great work
I haven't used my reloads on game yet; I've been testing the various factory loads. I would expect some of these to work very well. I just wish the deep curl bullets and xtps would feed.
I like how open minded brother is with the same ammunition I use
Looking to start reloading 350 legend.
Any chance you could get your hands on Maker Bullets 220 grain subs and 150 grain Rex bullets? Love your channel I have watched all your 350 videos multiple times.
I've recieved a few requests to test those. They look cool.
Any plans for a side by side comparison to the 450 bushmaster with the same bullet type?
Loctite ! In the range bag .......
This is another guy on TH-cam that got a little under 4000-fps with 350 legend
Ok Kyle plz plz get your hands on that NEW Winchester 150 grn. SOLID! and do your gel test with it!! Wanna finally see this bad boy mushroom! Great round for sure but kinda dismal expansion. Hopefully Winchesters new round will mushroom like a Barnes! Now that will be cool!
I see that they have a new Defense load, too. Looks like a rebranded Power Max Bonded.
Gel test comparo??
Its all sold out here in ga where I live so I'm guessing that the round is finally gaining momentum!
@@ravissary79
I heard about the feeding issues.
LOVE how you say "were not hitting gel at close range, thats Dumb" YYYEEESSS its Ridiculous Dumb. dont know why people do that?!!!!
I use both. I just have to back off 10% on Quickload's recommended powder charge if I use a .357" bullet.
I also have the bear creek upper in 350 and love it.mine likes the 180 grain best
The recoil on these things are tame. Compared it to a 454, a 460 or a 12ga for you ohio deer hunters it's a lamb. Great video though, thanks for the info man. 👍
Try the 115 and 125 grain Fort Scott 9mm TUI projectiles.
Would have to be a highly effective handgun cartridge!
It looks like this reverse hollow point performs better at slower speeds because it's cutting deeper as it slows down in the gel...
Great video, may I ask the length and profile for your barrel? I am considering a new upper for use in Ohio, a straight wall state...
This is a CMMG 16" barrel. It's a mid-light profile, tapered behind the gas block.

I have noticed the XD bullets have twist rate recommended on them. I am wondering if that can draw their performance down somewhat. I know the 90 XD in my 9 mm shoots very flat and is more accurate than I expected. Just wondering about the twist rate. Also, do you post load recipes?
I put these recipes in the pinned comment at the top of the comments section. Stability has been perfect with both loads.
@@SocialRegressive OK, Thank you.
Sir,
I am in the Meers Oklahoma area. What area are you from?
It's been years since I've had a mining camp burger. I gotta spend some time in the Wichita mountains soon. I'm out in the Tulsa area. Seen any prairie dogs out there?
@@SocialRegressive Absolutely yes. I have 80 acres and a few shooting ranges on it. If you're ever in the area let me know.
Where did you find load data for this? I'm going to try this and my first thought is to start at 357 mag loadings and work up from there.
I used Quickload software to estimate my powder charges. There is a free alternative here: grtools.de/
If you want to start with my recipes, look at the pinned comment on this video. I would start 10% below those values and work up slowly.

I like the 180gr rounds by federal
3 inches in looks like the vapor trail
Would you recommend these for hunting
With reservations. They won't have the momentum of heavier bullets like the 180-grain Super X loads. They might not exit a heavier deer.
@@SocialRegressive they should work for me I can only use them when I go to Texas and shoot those lighter bodied deer
@@paulfrevert3662 That should work fine, especially the 118-grain load.
Do you know anyone that has killed a deer with that 118 grain bullet
Not yet. I went with factory ammo this season.
if you think the 350 Legend kicks...Try out theb 450 Bushmaster..I have both and the 450 has alot of recoil. And mine is inherently accurate..Quite a bit more than my 350 Legend..I like them both very much though..Great video.I will have to try the Lehigh Defense Bullets..Thank you
I guess I should have been more precise. 350 ain't much of a punch, but the thin aluminum buttstock I have is kinda mean. I'm glad you've enjoyed the series! I should try 450 bushmaster sometime. 458 socom is a hot, and the bushmaster round should be even more fun.
@@SocialRegressive I like the 458 Socom...but ammo fir it is much more expensive than the 450 Bushmaster.
I want to load these for my 35 Remington.
Not saying your numbers aren’t true but with H110 my manual says a max load would barely touch 2500, do you have a chrono? Curious to know your measurements if you are actually pushing 3
I used a chronograph, registering just over 3000 fps at ten feet. I used Quickload to figure out what was safe for this one 90-grain bullet and its specific dimensions. I'll go rummage around for the recipe and get back to you.
@ that’s awesome man! My 2024 hodgdon manual says that exact same powder and bullet at max load would hit 2515 😅- might have to look into Quickload now lol thank you sir!
What's with the crazy crooked fingers bro?
What's your recipe for the 90 gr xd load?
Lehigh doesn't have load data for the 90grn XD's. I'm planning on starting with 30grn of Lil Gun and working towards 33.
My contact there said lil gun was super sketchy with that bullet. He only recommends H110.
I'm used to using them in bigger bore cartridges. 110 falls behind after 12" of barrel where Lil Gun picks up. They have Lil Gun data for the 118gr.
Turns out 30gr are fairly compressed but also don't cycle the AR. 115gr with 29gr Lil Gun works better.
@@hvymax Thanks for the report! It's nice to know you can use either.
To fix your gun falling apart problems......... USE BLUE LOCKTITE on all but the barrel, even for temporary scope use. If its on for 24 hrs or more use that friggin locktite
Took all three of my bucks with one this year
That's great! Can you describe the hunts? I'd love the details on the distances, shot placement, wound channels, and how quickly the deer died.
@SocialRegressive we sure miss you on here sir!
Trying to order these on their website site. Which one actually are they. Thanks
9mm .355" XD, 118 grain and 90 grain. 118 was my favorite.
@@SocialRegressive Thanks 😊
How much 110 are you using on the 118?
would love to see this in a factory load please, I don't want to get back into reloading.
@@SocialRegressive then what do you think would be a good fit for the 350
@@jazzyj1965 It's designed to handle medium game like deer and hogs within closer distances. Accuracy in my testing so far has been OK, but not good enough for prairie dogs. It might be the rifle, though. A bolt-action gun might get better results. What kind of varmints are you planning to hunt?
I live in the Midwest, so coyotes, raccoons & bobcats. I may just tryout the factory 145 grain

I think Lehigh was purchased by Wilson combat. Try their site.
Wow
It performs similar to a 3030 or a 35 rem... BUT... it fits in an AR
Cool
Let me know if you want the 200 the 220 and the 250 subsonic that cycles in the ar platform 220 is pretty flat and 1 1/4 moa
That sounds great! Who makes those?
It’s a hand load using a speer bullet and Starline brass they took me a long time to develop but they work perfectly the Winchester subsonic is a tank the bullet drop is terrible So I develop the 220 and the 250 the cycle perfect
@@mudbugoutdoors6271 Thanks! What powder are you using? Trail Boss? And I assume you're using a magnum primer?
Actually, considering the case size and bullet mass, I'm betting it's a more "normal" load than that.
And both of these are about 80% fill volume In the case
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Dude what's up with your finger ? 😳

@@SocialRegressive😂😂spit up my drink on myself 😂😂. Appreciate the video. Looking to get something like this set up for my new 350 legend when deer season rolls around. Finally legalized rifles in some form in my state. Batter than slug guns for sure
118 grains would certainly mess up any living animal bad but 150 grain or more would definitely do a lot of damage.
ooo your in oklahoma!!!! depending on where your at if your interested in going doing pig hunting hit me up :) oh how much h110 you using?

Not sure if Lehigh makes a 9mm Xtreme Hunter projectile. They do for other calibers but haven’t seen it in 9mm. Maybe they will soon, specifically for .350 Legend shooters! Send them a request! While you’re at it, ask for a factory load in that combo! If they hear it enough, perhaps they’ll start making it for us.
