The series is perfectly crafted; I felt as if I were Jonas, trying to comprehend his reality and the ramifications of each action. The ending opens up the overrunning theme of "Déjà vu" and the possibility that the Dream State is actually another "world" where the "deleted files" of alternate realities play out. Hannah mentions how she dreamt of the apocalypse in the last scene, even though it would never happen in her unaltered reality. Wöller's eye in Jonas world is due to the accident with Marek and Sonja Tannhaus. Wöller's lost his left arm in Martha world is due to the accident with Marek and Sonja Tannhaus. Wöller's left eye in the origin world is just a scratch. It's because the accident never happened because Marek and Sonja were saved by Jonas and Martha.
Since Hannah never went to the past, she never told Helene Albers that her name was Katharina. So we have to assume that the origine world's Katharina isn't really named Katharina!
No , actually the knots are influenced by the origin, not the other way around , meaning Katharina has her name in the origin first. Just like claudia and bern Doppler are married in the origin, they are also married in the knots despite their age difference
This show pushed my brain so much. I feel like I'm in a long-term vegetative but minimally conscious state. This show is bomb af. Heartfelt tip: *WATCH IT IN GERMAN.*
The source of the Problem: HANNAH. She was the one who interfere the timeline. The relation between her and Egon (in 1957) causing the birth of SILJA who then married with Bartos. Silja and her descendants does not supposed to be exist: - Agnes > Tronte > Mads & Ulrich > Magnus, Martha & Mikel > Jonah - Noah > Charlotte > Fransizka & Elisabeth If we remove all of Silja descendants then we only had the originals - Katharina, Regina, Peter, Wollers and Hannah
I actually found Martha the most annoying. Felt like she had the same reaction and emotion through out. While well acted after a while it just became overkill.
Meqa i agree all of them are rlly talented, but Lisa (martha) conveyed many emotions. There’s this scene where she’s doing a Monologue in Season 1 and suddenly she starts crying and she transmits to the audience her Anger, Sadness and confusion. Many known netflix actresses aren’t even close to her talent. Lisa’s acting was breathtaking throughout the series; she should’ve gotten at least an Emmy Nomination.
tannhaus technically did save his family by creating the machine because it allowed jonas and martha to travel back and prevent it all from happening, except they sacrificed their love and lives for tannhaus’s family.
The ending was so sad. i still feel to the day that something is missing from my heart. its weird that i feel like that on a personal level by watching a TV show. The uneasiness of Jonas and Marta pursuing their love,to sacrifice their love and life in to literal nothing and get wiped from existence without anyone ever knowing about their sacrifice. One of the best TV shows i have ever watched.
There was no time loop. The moment Tannhaus ran his time machine in the original world. The original world ceased to exist. The two worlds and their whole story from 27/6/1888 to 25/9/2053 were created all at once simultaneously. The feeling and concept of time running linearly were only illusions in their minds. In the whole story, everyone had a birth and a death. Time travelling happened but no one could loop back to be the exact same person in his past. Different endings were possible because free will was possible during apocalypse. There was no time loop even the two worlds vanished and the original world was restarted at the end.
What a rarity Dark was. A show that started in incredible quality, with a complex story and finished in the exact same way. One of the finest shows I’ve ever watched. No short changing or switching the plot like Lost. No vertiginous drop in quality like Game of Thrones. Straight through just marvelous. A true classic.
The most haunting scene for me was when that homeless man is sitting with elizabeth and she is looking at him horrified. I was just thinking no! not that! not that! and then he starts attacking her 😶
Fr i couldnt watch i had to skip as soon as he jumped on her. Sickening, but unfortunately a reality even in the real world. And more common then we’d like to think.
What's mind-boggling is that every move the main characters did (jonah, Martha, Claudia, Noah) to prevent what's gonna happen WAS the reason it is gonna happen. EVERYTHING they thought was breaking the loop was the reason the loop exists. I thought this idea was crazy. I was thinking about this throughout the whole time I was watching it. When Martha killed john i was like "what if this is the reason Adam becomes what he is"
After season 1 it was crystal clear to me that whatever they would do wouldn't change anything. After season 2 and during season 3 I was sure both Adam and Eve had no idea what they're doing and wouldn't accomplish anything. Both of them did too much shit to be "right" about anything. I was glad Claudia was the one to solve the problem in the end, by doing what everyone should do in this freaking show: not trusting anything, even yourself; and being sure people you want dead are shot in the head 😂

I was so happy with a satisfying end to this wonderful series. Was worried to my core that they will end it without any proper explanations or try to stretch it out for another season
I think the humor is so subtle and on point. How Wöller in Martha's world has both eyes, they slowly show that, then, no arm... so funny. Also, the lake woman story. Gosh, they are talking a story that it's true, it happened, it was their mother, and her body was actually there!

Some shows are good, some shows are bad. Some shows are very good, some shows are very bad. Most shows are hey ho whatever. And then there's the masterpiece that is Dark. I watched season 1 when it appeared, occasionally repeating a few scenes/acts in utter disbelief at what i was watching and how good these scenes are. I then watched season 1 again immediately after finishing my first viewing. Then i watched it again just as season 2 was released for a recap. I watched season 2 twice. Then watched season 1 and 2 consecutively on the release of season 3. I then watched this twice. I have in the last 2 weeks watched all 3 seasons consecutively. @@luckymankwok To me dark is a good representation of how timetravel should work in shows. You kind of know the ending of the show from season 1 logically is to erase everything that happened, so you dont avoid that. instead the show is made on all the intricacies and details throughout each cycle rather than the ending.
I've never had to concentrate so hard while watching a TV show. It was worth the effort, however - this show is perfection. Thank you to everyone involved; you ridiculously talented people created something very special, which I will remember for many years to come.
Maybe, according to the quantum entanglement, there are two realities from the prime world in which Jonas and Martha do not save H. G. Tannhaus’ family and one in which they did save them.
But what many didn't realize (and I'm surprised it wasn't delved into in this video) was that there was actually a FOURTH world in which Gretchen was pulling the strings.
I think the cycle isn't broken because if Tanenhaus's family gets saved he never builds a time machine, which means Jonas/Martha does not exist. If there is no Jonas/Martha then Tanenhaus's family won't get saved, the result will be Tanenhaus creating a time machine again and that making Jonas/Martha to exist again. Now, this loop will go endlessly. And I think that's Dark motto 'The beginning is the ending and Ending is the beginning'.
I have just rewatched the whole series...again :D. And ive noticed one thing about that moment when they are in that werid time tunnel (last episode season 3). They see themselves as kids, watching them through doors. That clearly suggest that this has already happened to them when they were kids. Meaning they are stuck in that loop forever, or they are simply creating a different branch of it. No escape. And of course last scene when Hannah talks about her dream and naming her kid Jonas - there is no escape for them.
*When Jonas & Martha went in the origin world to save Tanhaus' family and they appears in front of their Car. For a moment i was like shit they're the actual reason of their accident and it will always repeat like this and when Marek ans Sonja goes home till then also i was having this feeling of Will they be saved but Thank God nothing happend and the loophole succeeded. The brilliant character was not of not Jonas & Martha but the mastermind Claudia!*
You didn't pay attention. A truck pushed Marek and family from the bridge. Jonas and Martha encountered them at the junction. So, what you said can't happen. But, I think showrunners did consider that, and that's why to avoid any loopholes, they made Jonas and Martha appear far from the bridge.
If they didn’t succeed the circumstances would have changed and new loops would happen of them continuing to try and prevent themselves from failing the first time because Adam decided not to kill Eve and helped Jonas find Martha leading them origin world. I’m glad they just ended the show haha
So, how did little Martha saw teenage Jonas through the closet if that was happening for the first time? Doesn't this mean that Jonas being there is still part of the loop? I've seen this question popped up quite a few places but I haven't gotten a solid enough answer that. What do you guys think about this?
Maybe it's a - 3worlds loop- since the accident (the sole reason why time travelling was invented) won't be prevented unless Martha and Yunas from "both worlds" had to exist!
The scene was a nod to the space time continuum theory, the dimension from which the teenage Jonas and Martha were standing was at a timeless state (thus referring it as happening for the first time is out of the contention; it was similar to the bookshelf scene in Interstellar)
Because that is time, little Martha saw her younger self not that time she was seeing her in past ,they both are seeing each other it doesn't mean it is the same time it's not video calling and someone already said about interstellar scene
I think that's because they are standing on the "bridge" of all of three worlds. So in both Jonas' and Martha's worlds there is still a possibility of time travelling and their worlds are still existing. And in each of those worlds there is a loophole which (I still don't know why) is only visible for Jonas and Martha.
I love Dark Series and I'm fully satisfied of this ending and this is the best web series of my life that I have seen till date. Who all enjoyed this web series.
I was paying so much attention at that dinner in the end to learn what would be the new name of "Katharina"', since it was Hanna traveling to the past who inspired that name in the first place (at the abortion clinic with Helene Albers). But they didn't call her name at any moment, so... who knows...
Martha is Jonas's aunt and there is also a fact that Jonas is Martha's great great great uncle because Silja is Jonas's sister so Jonas is Agnes's uncle, Tronte's great uncle, Ulrich's great great uncle and Martha's great great great uncle

Wöller's left eye in the origin world is just a scratch. It's because the accident never happened because Marek and Sonja were saved by Jonas and Martha.

Tanhaus made 2 angels to save his son and family and he succeeds
thanks to claudia for realizing it
It all was decided by time
Tannhaus is God. He made two worlds and two original humans, Adam and Eve.
The source of the Problem: HANNAH.
She was the one who interfere the timeline. The relation between her and Egon (in 1957) causing the birth of SILJA who then married with Bartos. Silja and her descendants does not supposed to be exist:
- Agnes > Tronte > Mads & Ulrich > Magnus, Martha & Mikel > Jonah
- Noah > Charlotte > Fransizka & Elisabeth
If we remove all of Silja descendants then we only had the originals
- Katharina, Regina, Peter, Wollers and Hannah

I actually found Martha the most annoying. Felt like she had the same reaction and emotion through out. While well acted after a while it just became overkill.
Meqa i agree all of them are rlly talented, but Lisa (martha) conveyed many emotions. There’s this scene where she’s doing a Monologue in Season 1 and suddenly she starts crying and she transmits to the audience her Anger, Sadness and confusion. Many known netflix actresses aren’t even close to her talent. Lisa’s acting was breathtaking throughout the series; she should’ve gotten at least an Emmy Nomination.
I think most, if not all the actors are mind blowingly good
I love it how the narrator honestly admits he doesn't understands Schrodinger's cat theory 😂
Kinda Entanglement theory huh!
tannhaus technically did save his family by creating the machine because it allowed jonas and martha to travel back and prevent it all from happening, except they sacrificed their love and lives for tannhaus’s family.
yupp
It wasn't worth living that life anyways. It was better for adam and Eva to disappear than making sure they go through the torture countless times

Is it only me or does Dark's 'explanation' requires another explanation? 🤣
Every single explanation I've watched disagrees on at least a few points
@@pingapple123 the original world ceased to exist? I don't think so. It just ran on parallel - to the 2 parallel worlds.
What a rarity Dark was. A show that started in incredible quality, with a complex story and finished in the exact same way. One of the finest shows I’ve ever watched. I agree that was such a good scene

I think the humor is so subtle and on point. How Wöller in Martha's world has both eyes, they slowly show that, then, no arm... so funny. Also, the lake woman story. Gosh, they are talking a story that it's true, it happened, it was their mother, and her body was actually there!
Every actor is great in this series but the actor who plays young Noah nailed it.
The resemblance of him and Johnny Depp is uncanny

Season 3 was just too confusing with so many Marthas and Jonas for me...

Maybe, according to the quantum entanglement, there are two realities from the prime world in which Jonas and Martha do not save H. G. Tannhaus’ family and one in which they did save them.
But what many didn't realize (and I'm surprised it wasn't delved into in this video) was that there was actually a FOURTH world in which Gretchen was pulling the strings.
hahaha
I think the cycle isn't broken because if Tanenhaus's family gets saved he never builds a time machine, which means Jonas/Martha does not exist. If there is no Jonas/Martha then Tanenhaus's family won't get saved, the result will be Tanenhaus creating a time machine again and that making Jonas/Martha to exist again. Now, this loop will go endlessly.
And I think that's Dark motto 'The beginning is the ending and Ending is the beginning'.
It could happen in a sequel😂
Didnt think about that. Interesting
The brilliant character was not of not Jonas & Martha but the mastermind Claudia!*
thats exactly what i though too
You didn't pay attention. A truck pushed Marek and family from the bridge. Jonas and Martha encountered them at the junction. So, what you said can't happen.
But, I think showrunners did consider that, and that's why to avoid any loopholes, they made Jonas and Martha appear far from the bridge.
claudia won't do that if regina doesn't exist in origin world.
@@Oreo_Overdose In the other realities maybe they died because of the truck also and becuase of Jonas & Martha also.
If they didn’t succeed the circumstances would have changed and new loops would happen of them continuing to try and prevent themselves from failing the first time because Adam decided not to kill Eve and helped Jonas find Martha leading them origin world. I’m glad they just ended the show haha
I really was left thinking “but what happened to his eye?!”
So, how did little Martha saw teenage Jonas through the closet if that was happening for the first time? Doesn't this mean that Jonas being there is still part of the loop? I've seen this question popped up quite a few places but I haven't gotten a solid enough answer that. What do you guys think about this?
I think the theory is their is a bigger loop at play. Bigger than the loop in Jonas and Alt Martha' world.
