Thank you for helping me decide on my first DAP. Been using my phone. Using an iFi Hip DAC 3 with the phone still opens up distraction. So…trying a DAP for distraction-free listening. Thanks again!
Hey just bought the hiby R3 ii on the video review! And I'm really happy so far, one question will I hear a significant difference in sound quality if I buy a 4.4mm cable to listen through my moondrop iem's ? Thanks
wow and my hiby r2 gen 2 died yesterday ….. 2months of use and its gone. Baterry was very very warm i thinked it explodes so hot is getting i throw it in the Cash.
Your videos are such a pleasure to watch. Thank you very much, sir! I am very interested in a small DAP. But I can't consider between this one or the RS2. One I don't find anything is the Aune M1P. But perhaps you will review it one day.
Great review as always, Dave. Thanks for calling out the M0 Pro, I have and use that frequently "on the go". I also use the Shanling M3X and have the HiBy RS6 (R2R Darwin). Each have a different form factor and weight lending to different use cases. I was thinking of replacing the M0 Pro with this and gift it to my sister, but now I think I'll hang on to it a little longer.
Great video and info. I'm looking to get into my first DAP and trying to pick between this and the new Hiby M300, not sure if you've seen the specs for it but what would you recommend? I listen to a lot of Drum & Bass and would like something that has a more accurate sound, especially the low end. What pulls me towards the R3 II is the balanced output since my monitors & sub are all balanced.
Is there any way to increase the displayed size of the album art ? I really like the way it was nearly 'full screen' with its predecessor the Hibry R3 2022 Saber
So Im coming from a 6th gen ipod touch. I used it as a way of playing music in the car and when doing activities. How would this compare as im trying to find a replacement for the iPod touch?
Can someone help me understand the Hiby Link feature? Can you control playback on the Hiby R3II DAP on your phone for TH-cam music, or it only works with the Hiby player? I'm also confused. If you want to control playback with your phone, why can't you just use the Hiby R3II DAP as a bluetooth amp/dac (basically a more powerful BTR5). Last question: is there any video/audio sync issues on bluetooth dac mode (e.g., for watching videos on computer/phone).
I got mine today and am disappointed not in the quality or the sound quality but... I bought this because I listen to long lectures in MP3 that are each a couple of hours long. My iBasso Audio keeps my place in my lecture when I turn off the player, so when I turn it back on I am right where I left off. I got this player to be a take on the go work player so my expensive iBasso Audio player doesn't get lost or damaged and it does not book mark or stop and recover from where I left off in the lecture. As a music player I'm sure it's fine but for my purposes it is a paperweight. Maybe I will see if one of my kids want it.
Hello Friend, Great Video!! I am considering to get an R3 II to replace my Shanling M0 Pro but I have 2 questions. When you browse the music files by folders, does the songs of the album appears in alphabetical order or in the order of the cd? And how does the R3 II perform as a bluetooth receiver compared to the shanling M0 Pro and something Like the Qudelix 5K? My main use for it as a bluetooth device would be to connect to my tvs and wach shows and movies with my headphones, My qudelix was amazing for this but the M0 pro does not work properly. I hope you can help me on this, Thank you very much
Love your reviews just a pleasure they have everything from the Good all the way to ugly. Could you recommend a budget DAP for countries where Tidal and Qobuz are not available and we are stuck with Spotify, Amazon Prime Music no HD your opinion would be helpful. Thanks for your time 👍
Thanks for your video I've had the R3 II since yesterday, it's a good little DAP, it would be really great IF there weren't some big problems: I can't access my QOBUZ account (if anyone has the same problem as me, let me know) The keyboard is based on an old system of 90s this is not acceptable because there would be room to put all the letters, the little shanking Q1 fits there and it is much smaller! the interface is really not practical, for example, there is no way to return to the main screen without going up the entire screen chain, and no effective shortcut like on all devices of this type Currently. As for the sound, it's good. The device is handy and pleasant but I think I will still send it back if I cannot resolve this Qobuz account problem. Damage . But I already have a Shanling Q1 (without Qobuz) and a Fiio M 11
Thanks for the very informative review. Do you feel any tangible difference in sound quality between this and the Pro Saber 2022? I mean, is this a real upgrade or I can stick with the older model? Thanks in advance for your time 🙏
Hello greetings, I frequently watch your videos and now I decided to purchase a DAP and based on your experience I want to ask you which would be the best purchase among these, Shanling m3 ultra, Fiio m11s, Hiby R6-3 and Fiio M11S plus, I am looking for the best quality performance audio and stable performance in use, thank you.
@@Gizaudio8:58 there's actually a Shanling M1S which has a form factor more similar to the R3 II than the miniscule M0 Pro. Maybe you can go check that one out
Bro please help .. I purchased this product but M" not at all happy even 50% .. my 8 years old cowon i10 is outperforming this thing .. currently I am using only 3.5mm port with simgot E500 IEM .. do you think there will be any change in sound quality if I shift to 4.4mm cabled IEM ?? Please help I am very sad with this purchase Frankly speaking this thing sounds like a ordinary phone with an IEM or even worse with some musics (currently I only used 3.5mm IEM.. dont have 4.4mm) Please suggest
Yes, it absolutely improves the sound. I’m currently in the process of changing my 3.5 cables to 4.4 for this dap and the Shanling M1s. Again, it definitely improves the sound going to the 4.4 on the R3 Gen2.
Do you get a lot of firmware issues?? I have quite a lot with the r3 2022. If the entire battery drains i can't charge it with a wall charger, have to charge it with a computer. Sometimes when i press play it blasts out audio at full volume for a split second. If I'm in shuffle mode and i want to go back a song, it will skip all the songs i cycled back through after that song, including the song i was originally on when i skipped back a track. These are all really big quality of life issues and if they cant fix them they are wasting their time. That doesnt even touch on the awful tidal integration.
I have the FC4 and the balanced output doesn't work right and the only way to fix it is with an impossible firmware update. Even if it worked my phone doesn't have the audio enhancements this thing has. Plus it works with your phone if you want to use it or even your tv through bluetooth.
Dang, i thought there will be comparison vs Shanling M1s.
I just love the way Dave approaches these reviews, he gives you the good, the bad, and the ugly in a very nice a straight forward manner.
Thank you and thanks for checking out the review!

Hi! What an amazing review.
What do you think about Hiby R3II vs Shanling M1s?

We have the same situation. Have you purchased yourself one already? If yes, what did you end up with?

I dont see the SD-card slot, where is it? Nice review!
7:46 what is your favorite now over the BTR7?

Well, I'm here early.......seems like a good option added to my list of DAPs I'd buy after I get my salary this month.

One more question. I also own a Cabin RU7. Can I plug this dongle DAC into this player, when I am at home?

Did they ever fix the gapless playback? I heard it didn't have it when first launched

Hiby r3 mk2 vs moondrop 2ti which one is your pick, which is better? Thanks.
Was about to ask if you're going to get this in for review 😍

can I Audio Cast from my phone to Hiby r3 II using Bubble UPNP?
Can i download all my tidals songs for offline use. Or do i need to tether internet from my phone too it. Whislt am out and about.
This DAP is good, unfortunately the volume knob is slippery and triggers my OCD. 😅
If this had a proper parametric eq id smap this up
Will this also work as DAC when hooked up to a computer like the shanling m0 pro?
Has anyone figured out what his cabinet is that he pulls the items out of at the beginning of videos?
Does it have a ID3 tag editor?
does the tidal app have an offline mode?????
thus it support Spotify or apple music?
Nop
Is there Bluetooth LDAC Codec?
can I drag and drop music from my windows pc to the DAP?
Yes, you can.
Can you use the Tidal version that lets you listen offline?
No

Again, it definitely improves the sound going to the 4.4 on the R3 Gen2.
Can this do bit perfect Apple Music?
No just Qobuz and tidal
If it could 99% of us would be paying for functionality we don't need

...What happened to that certain video I was in the middle of watching?...
How to login to tidal
man how i wish this dap had AKM chips
80 us for version 1 and 180 for version 2 😂
So basically the same DAC as Qudelix 5K. No Spotify and pretty poor screen quality.
So what did you expect for under 200 bucks?
@@User-s2f3s I expect for it to be 250$ but with at least a little amplification and an ability to stream Spotify
Same price with Shanling M1S
DAC still Better than DAP (Sound).. i have Hiby FC4, its better than this things.. and yeah better than shanlinh m0Pro or M1S
